Fanny Bay Oyster Bar

"It doesn't get much more tide to table than Fanny Bay Oyster Bar. Tucked on a quiet street within walking distance from the city's stadiums, this hot spot gets crowded, especially on game days, and for good reason. This menu features some of the best shellfish and seafood-driven entrees around. Should your shucking skills be slightly rusty, they'll gladly offer a primer. Whether perched at the bar or settled in at a table, raw bar items should be top of mind. Prefer cooked items? The grilled oysters, served hot and bubbly, shellacked with Creole butter and a fresh herb-flavored gremolata, will float your boat. Then, tuck in to intensely rich sablefish collar, served crisped alongside with hot-sweet peppadew puree and grilled shishito peppers." - Michelin Inspector

Google
One of the Top Happy Hours in BC! This place truly lives up to the hype. The variety of oysters was impressive—each one fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The uni was a standout—sweet, rich, and incredibly satisfying. Drinks were on point, and the wine paired perfectly with our selection of shellfish. I was a little disappointed they were out of scallops, but everything else made up for it. Great service, fresh seafood, and reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip!

Google
Stopped by Funny Bay Oyster for fresh oysters on a Friday evening just after 6pm. There was a short wait, but I got a counter seat. All oysters were $3.50 each regardless of type. I let the Oyster Master pick three for me, and they were excellent. I also tried the crab and shrimp fried rice—it was full of seafood and flavor, but the portion was way too big for one person. The atmosphere at the counter was casual and friendly. Other guests were easy to talk to, and the staff behind the counter were super welcoming and attentive. No background music, but the good service and energy made up for it. A fun and satisfying experience. Great oysters, big portions, and friendly people. I’d go back!

Google
This is the place for one of the freshest oysters. They have a wide selection of different types of oysters served in various styles. I would recommend just having it fresh. Even during happy hour, they offer three choices. Prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. It gets very busy, and there is a time limit for your table, so I'd highly recommend making reservations.

Google
What a swell spot, definitely a must try if you’re in the area. All around great seafood to stuff your face. Prices were affordable too. What drew me to this spot was that they had oysters called “Fat Bastards”. While the Fat Bastards weren’t our favorites, it was fun to order. We stopped by right when they opened on a week day and there was a line already, so just be aware.

Google
A must try for seafood lovers! Quite the popular location for seafood. The price was fair and the quality of food was top notch. Our server took time to explain the different kinds of oysters available with them and make suggestions as well. The restaurant can get quite busy - recommend getting a reservation in advance.

We were staying at the Douglas Hotel close by and walked here. They have great daily happy hour specials until 6 pm, even on weekends. We sat at the bar and received great service. We had oysters, crab and artichoke dip, mussels and clams with truffle fries, a side of scallops, and the tacos and wine. Everything was very good. It was fun to watch them shucking oysters! Would recommend!

Google
We started off with oysters which were fresh and good. We tried their large oysters which is worth the money $5. We shared a fried rice dish which was tasty. We shared the tasty NY cheesecake and chocolate mousse The waitress was attentive. The restaurant had a great vibe. They had merchandise for sale. We got a Fanny Bay Oysters black hoodie which looks nice.

Google
Stayed in Hampton Inn Vancouver downtown which is very near to Fanny Bay. Walked past and saw the happy hour for oysters! Both hubby and I love fresh oysters and ate during the happy hour on 2 separate days. The premium Washington “fat bastards” was our personal favourite. Super fresh, chunky and juicy! It’s as fresh as u can get! Rated atmosphere a bit lower but I guess that was due to the crowd and some of them can be very loud.

Yelp
Fresh seafood, lovely service! We had the best prawns and a kick of a cocktail sauce, fish and chips, scallops and calamari. I'd order but all were amazing! Space is a bit tight, I'd recommend reservations.

Yelp
Fanny Bay is one of our go-to's when we're craving some oysters, especially during happy hour. The oysters are always nice and fresh, and service is pretty good. Outside of happy hour though, the menu leans on a pricier side, but it's worth the $ if you're up for spending a little bit more for quality seafood.

Yelp
The best seafood in town! Incredible oysters that come from their own farm. We had Octopus as an appetizer and the delicious Crab-o-nara; that is a spinach fettuccine with crab, Scallops and trout roe... espectacular!! To finish, early gray cream brulee. The service was impecable at a fair price; a must visit in downtown Vancouver

Yelp
Oysters, the tuna tartare, the side sautéed scallops and the aguachile scallops were the highlights from our visit! The line up was lengthy upon arrival at 1:50pm, but it goes quickly as its first come first served when they open at 2:00pm. We were seated by 2:15pm. It was quickly lively inside and the music was quite loud so it was hard to hear at times. But, we still had a great experience and I appreciate their happy hour offerings.

Yelp
We came for happy hour on a Friday and ordered the lobster rolls, lobster poutine, premium oysters and regular oysters. The lobster poutine fries weren't very crispy but there was quite a bit of lobster on there. The lobster rolls were pretty good. The bread is crispy on the outside. Good amount of lobster on the inside. Not overcooked. Not too much seasoning. The regular oysters and premium oysters were very different. I would recommend ordering both. I preferred the regular but my dinner date preferred the premium. It depends on your taste. One was creamier than the other. The service was okay. Not the fastest and most attentive but good enough. Overall the food was okay. Happy hour menu wasn't overly extensive but it did the trick. The price for what you get is also okay.

Yelp
Price/quality (3/4): I've come here numerous times, and while the seafood was always fresh and tasty, my most recent visit resulted in what appeared to be food poisoning for my partner. Still, this was probably a one-time issue, and I myself had no symptoms. Service (0/1): Unfortunately, the staff can get rather hostile if you have a medical emergency at the restaurant and you decide to call an ambulance. Would I come here again: Maybe

Yelp
We were looking for a dinner spot and came across this place. It was quite loud indoors as there was a group of patrons out celebrating. Perhaps it usually isn't, but the day we dropped in, it was hard to hold a conversation or get the server's attention. As we had never tried cherrystone clams before, we got one each. I can't say the flavour was memorable. Better just go back to trying oysters! The mussels were good but the fries were seriously lacking. Maybe we got the very bottom of the batch, but what was up with the length? There were so many tiny short fries (2-3cm) and it was dissatisfying. Also, wish that their menu had ingredients more clearly displayed (e.g., clam chowder does contain shrimp, but not noted on the menu -- they list even paprika oil but not shrimp?). Felt like the price point was on the higher side for mediocre service, ambience, and food.

Yelp
My wife and I first discovered Fanny Bay oysters in a mixed sampler tray at an oyster bar in Langley, WA, and although being relative newcomers to the oyster shucking-and-sucking scene, we quickly agreed that they were our favorites of the bunch. So we were happy to stumble upon this, their namesake oyster bar, during our anniversary trip to Vancouver, BC. Despite having a couple of kiddos in tow, we were seated immediately, and ordered a round of Fanny Bays, despite it being happy hour and they not on the reduced menu, scoffing them down alongside our cocktails with relish (well, not *literally* relish exactly, but vinegar, hot sauce, and all the accoutrement, of course)! They were as good as we remembered, despite being a little larger. We also fell in love with the sunseekers, which were on the happy hour menu: a new favorite! Fantastic, attentive and friendly service, excellent prices, and unparalleled oysters, Fanny Bay lived up to, and even exceeded, our already high expectations! We'll be back, maybe next year, once again on our anniversary!

Yelp
I was looking to try some Dungeness crab while in Vancouver, and that's when I found Fanny Bay on my search. They have a happy hour menu until 6 but unfortunately, the timing didn't work out for us. But even without it, the seafood prices were still pretty reasonable. I made a reservation for 7:15 on a Tuesday. We were in the area earlier, at around 6:30 and luckily, they were able to seat us then. We had: -Daily Shucker's Dozen - this was four pieces of three different oysters. That day, it was the Kumamoto, fat bastard, and Fanny Bay. You save $2 by getting a dozen, as opposed to choosing your own, which is nice because I wouldn't really even know what to choose anyway. These looked delicious and my husband confirmed they were (I sadly couldn't have any since I'm expecting) but we definitely considered coming back for happy hour the next day just so he can have the oysters again. He ordered two sauces on the side - cocktail (which I'm surprised doesn't come with it) and a smoky chipotle, which was very good -Grilled oysters (creole butter, panko gremolata) - these came five to an order. Since I couldn't eat them raw, I had to settle for these but honestly, it almost made me not miss raw oysters. They were plump, and grilled perfectly. I used some of the smoky chipotle on here and it was *chef's kiss* -Dungeness crab (steamed with white wine butter, butter glazed vegetables, roasted herb potatoes, lemon) - this is calculated by market price and at the time, I believe it was about $40/lb. They said each crab weights 1.5 to 2 pounds, so you will end up paying $60-$70. This was pretty meaty and the butter sauce was good. However, they don't pre-crack anything for you and you have to ask them for gloves, which I would highly recommend because it gets very messy/oily Overall, it was a good place for some fresh seafood, that won't break the bank. If I'm ever in Vancouver again, I will definitely make a return visit - especially to try those raw oysters.

Yelp
Came back to a newly renovated restaurant and it feels more spacious. Today they are celebrating their 8th birthday and got the FRIED OYSTERS WITH TARTAR SAUCE for $8/4pcs. Yummy delicious Dish after dish was on point! They know their seafood well. Winner of the night? Raw Oysters and the Vongole or the Mussels and Clams??? I'd say everything. However, the least favourable for me was the fish Tacos - I tasted the pico de gallo and every veggie in it but not the fish. Service is top notch! Will be back for sure

Yelp
Fanny Bay was right next to my hotel plus had raving reviews so it was the first place on my list! They have a really good happy hour so I made sure to arrive right at 2 pm (that's when they open). There was a line of people already (it was on a Saturday) but not too bad and everyone got seated quite quickly. I ordered some regular and premium oysters that were on a happy hour, and it was an amazing start to my trip (cant think of anything better than sparkling wine plus yummy oyster)! Lobster poutine was a perfect introduction to this calorious dish! So delicious and very cheesy. The staff was super helpful and very friendly. The place is pretty casual but I would go there again when I am in Vancouver!

Yelp
Went here for Happy Hour on a weekday. FB has their own oyster farm and thus you know their oysters are going to be live, fresh, and raw. The oysters were $2.00 for their featured and $2.75 for their premium oysters - we had 10 in total. Wild Spotted Poached Prawns (3) special with fish roe and a foam emulsion was $22, pair of Fried Fish Tacos was $14, Clams & Mussels $22 with two tiny pieces of toasted and buttered sourdough bread $3 were tasty but sheesh - $3 for a slice of bread cut in half?!? Also had their $6 for 14 ounce on tap beer both alchy and non-alchy were ok but pricey for a happy hour. Most HHs that I go to are cheaper but this one cost us over $120 with tax and tip ($90 USD). We grabbed some more food afterwards. Service was excellent, ambiance - pub like with a younger after-work crowd.

Yelp
The oysters on the half shell are amazing here. I could have come here every day for a half dozen while we were visiting. The shuckers right at the bar with the bartenders going by is an experience like no other. You must sit at the bar for the whole experience.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Stopped by Fanny Bay for happy hour and LOVED it. It is busy, but I feel like spots turn quickly. We were able to grab some seats at the raw bar and it was so fun to watch them shuck oysters and prepare food. Our server gave us great explanations of the oysters on special the day we went, and gave us a great recommendation when we couldn't decide what to get. Everything was fresh and incredible. I'd definitely go back in a heartbeat.
google avatar

Charlie K.

Yelp
Have tried to go to this spot a few times but have turned away due to wait times... I finally got to go and totally understand the waits! Super mellow yet slightly upscale vibe. Loved sitting at the bar and watching the oysters being shucked, the bartender was the perfectly attentive. Oysters were fresh, flavourful and tender with no broken shell pieces or sand! Chowder was a great texture but could have been more clam forward - still thoroughly enjoyable! Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Iris L.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Oysters were fresh, but the clam chowder didn't live up to our taste bud expectations (cuz it had sausage and potatoes on it). Service was not quite inline with food quality. Dined on Monday with a few empty tables behind us, but the waitress never came and check in until we were done with out food lol we barely had space as the dirty dishes were not cleared out until we asked for a check...dont think this worths a revisit.
google avatar

Sherwin H.

Yelp
The front staff is the first thing you encounter at the restaurant. This is what sets the tone for the whole experience. I got to say BLAKE, you do not belong in the front to greet customers. Your service was absolutely appalling. You gave our seats to the party that came after us without even giving me any notice that the table was ready. It was discriminatory. You had nothing to say; you knew you were wrong. But you didn't care... You don't deserve to work in the front lines. I am shocked to be treated like this in this modern times. I will be sure to let everyone know of this negative experience.. we will never visit this establishment.
google avatar

Frank H.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant close to the stadium. Nice drinks, great Ambience. Staff were cheerful and very knowledgeable on the oyster selection.
google avatar

Hoa L.

Yelp
What a fun experience! We sat at the oyster bar and the team there works hard and are so friendly and nice. Hannah was so kind to walk us through the menu and the different oysters. We tried half a dozen raw oysters and also the spotted shrimp, grilled. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was fun, yet comfortable. The service was excellent and I hope I'll be back one day
google avatar

Genna G.

Yelp
Walking distance from our hotel made this the perfect dinner for our first night in Vancouver. Delicious oysters ( we tried the oyster special of the night which included 4 types of oysters - all excellent ). Tried our first raw scallop ( pretty good although for some reason psychologically I was a bit freaked out eating the thing raw ). Tuna tartare was very good as were our side salads. Service was a little slow but friendly. Had 2 grams of caviar for CAD 14$ - while really good, 2 grams is a ridiculously small portion and not worth the money at all so skip that item. Rest we loved and felt prices were fair. Overall, a very good restaurant for a light meal ( I suppose had we ordered differently one could also make it a heavy meal)
google avatar

Lindsay D.

Yelp
Bigger than it looks. Seafood is really fresh, quite a bignselection of oysters to eat in and to go and shucks at home. Sablefish had excellent presentation and was a standout. Caesars and martinis come with an oyster. Good for happy hour before going to BC Place or Rogers as it's nearby and a big space.
google avatar

Bryan F.

Yelp
A chic seafood bar in downtown Vancouver. You can order from an expansive menu of fresh oysters, shellfish, and other seafood. Their oyster options are comprehensive and you can find live oysters in display in the restaurant. All food is prepared fresh and you can witness the oysters and shellfish that you ordered shucked in front of you! Servers are professional and knowledgeable about the different seafood items on the menu. Everything I had there tasted fresh and satisfying. Highly recommend this place to seafood lovers in Vancouver!!
google avatar

Dino G.

Yelp
Convenience, since it's at the base of my office, but for the availability of a true seafood experience, it's quite passable. The oysters could be bigger ( Joe Fortes is a burly 100% bigger) , but of course a huge variety... give kumamoto, fat bastard, and sunseeker a try first. I tad pricy though, so look around if price is a factor. I couldn't add too much about the food since it's like any other place serving tacos, fish & chips, sashimi, or calamari but smaller portions. Scallops are always great, so too are the chilli garlic jumbo prawns. It's possible to leave still a bit peckish, so visit based on how famished you are
google avatar

Shawana L.

Yelp
Love love love this place! I have been here a couple times and it never disappoints! You can't go wrong with the menu or coming here for happy hour. I would side on making reservations if you want a table (you can walk in for bar seating). Freshest oysters! My favorites are the ones from PEI! The staff is super friendly and awesome!

John H.

Yelp
Great food and good atmosphere. We're not even oyster fans but had to sample some. Yum!! Our other dishes of fish tacos and fresh ling cod were both top notch.
google avatar

Yelp
Fanny Bay's oyster happy hour was the highlight of my recent trip to Vancouver! This restaurant is definitely a place to remember. They have great bar seating where you can see the fresh oysters getting shucked, and they have oyster tanks visible when you enter as well. We also got some cooked mussels and clams with sourdough that also hit the spot. The staff were so kind and informative, and it was such great fun trying the different varieties of oysters, which had marked differences in taste that were fun to explore. I think the restaurant ambiance was just right too--it was packed and lively, but didn't feel too crowded. We were also able to have a great meal just chatting and not feeling rushed at all. Overall, I definitely recommend coming here for some fresh oysters!
google avatar

Bethany M.

Yelp
It was a decent showing overall - service was friendly and attentive from our server. The host was a bit short with us when she sat us at our table ("you get a 1 hour and 45 minute time limit"). Mind you: we weren't there during happy hour. Nonetheless, our server never made us feel rushed, which was nice. On to the food: the raw and steamed seafood was all good (cherry stones, oysters, steamed shrimp/crab/lobster, and the geoduck sashimi). The cooked seafood was disappointingly mid - especially the mussels-and-clams and the scallop dish. Fries were our favorite: we preferred the "plain" version with salt and pepper to the truffle/parm version (save your money and skip those). It's a little sad though when the best cooked item on a seafood menu is the plain fries, however...
google avatar

Blake B.

Yelp
Saw this Oyster Bar online after having some less exciting oysters at another restaurant nearby and Fanny Bay Oyster Bar did not disappoint! The oysters were large and filling with a nice mignonette and house made version of Tabasco sauce. We ordered the two dozen premium oysters and were very pleased. The oysters were creamy and briny and if we lived in the area we would definitely come back just for the oysters! We also tried the fish tacos and lobster rolls which were also very tasty. If you're trying to get in for happy hour, arrive early because there was a line 15 minutes before opening and by 2:30 pm the restaurant was packed! Service was speedy and our drinks were always filled promptly. Highly recommend trying Fanny Bay Oyster Bar!

Yelp
Seriously? Where does one start? We got there post H.H., one woman was so noisy, we moved to the bar. After that, life was fantastic! First tip, make a reservation. Second tip, ask questions and take recommendations. Sitting at the bar was the best thing. On the raw oysters, sitting at the bar has its advantages ages as Marina and Andrew were busy shucking oysters after oyster. I've had oysters out east, and I'm reality, oysters are like a fine wine or an aged scotch and all are unique based on their terroir, or as Andrew said, the "marioir" as they are cultivated in the water. From racks, to bags to natural to other methods, it's pretty cool and each oyster is labeled out as how and how long they were raised. It's pretty cool. Oyster 101. The fish dish i had, the risotto the wife had, were amazing. The flavors, the sauces, textures, everything was so good. And the menu will change and what I had, will morph into something else that will blow someone else's mind. I'm glad I made a reservation. I'm even happier we were able to sit at the bar and see and chat with these these two as they work with such passion.

Yelp
Not much to say but, SEAFOOD overload!!! I was in heaven!!! Everything was fresh, plated beautifully and service was amazing! This place a repeat for sure!!!
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Happy hour oysters were only $2.00 ea, service top notch; oysters were awesome as was the fresh lobster roll and tuna tartare. Would 100% come back if we were back in Vancouver. Sit at the bar where they are constantly shucking and grating horseradish.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Whoa! So glad our concierge recommended this restaurant for happy hour. It was so good! We ordered a splattering of items like the truffle fries, mussels and clams, tuna tartare, neck collars, ceviche scallops, lobster poutine, and clam chowder. Everything was delish! Our faves were the tuna and mussels and clams! So fresh and flavorful! The lobster poutine was gooey with cheese churds and topped with lobster meat. The clam chowder was briny and Smokey from the bacon chunks and creamy from the potatoes. The neck collars were buttery and rich. The truffle fries could have used an extra dose of truffle oil, because the truffle taste was not there. They tasted like plain fries. Lastly, the ceviche scallops were good, but I don't recommend them the menu has sooo many other options that seem more delicious. The service was spot on and so was the atmosphere. Check them out!
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
The food was delicious, service excellent and the place was nice. Can't ask for anything more. We had fresh oysters and muscle and clams. Everything was great and served very fast.
google avatar

Yelp
While visiting Vancouver we stopped in Fanny Bay for Happy Hour. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive and helpful with recommendations. We enjoyed several different types of oysters with freshly grated horseradish and mignonette sauce. So fresh and tasting like the ocean. We also tried the sablefish collars, so good with that delicious glaze. Obviously a popular choice as the restaurant was pretty busy

Yelp
We arranged and where greeted and offered a table or the bar, we chose the bar good choice the young man shucking was l knowledge and friendly. First round was happy our selection of Fat bastard Barchoise ( don't know how it is spell it sounds like Bear Schwa) & cloudy bay. This was round 2 a wide selection of everything they were shucking that night. All where fresh and delicious although there where 2 that I didn't care for but the Kusshi was my favorite it came on our 3rd round was also a great selection with the Octopus. In between 2 and 3 we tried the lobster Roll not impressed too much dressing and veggies left us wondering what the lobster tasted like. The restaurant is very clean and organized the bar has an excellent selection of wines and top shelf bourbons. We had the Kettle Valley chard from BC and it went very well with the oysters. The huge disappointment was the where out of Fresh Scallops which Ed I had been looking forward to since getting on the plane in LA. All and all a great experience and if you are in BC maybe heading to a cruise definitely take in Fanny's for those lovers of seafood!!!!

Yelp
Highly recommend coming during happy hour. $2 oysters, $2.75 premium oysters. I loved the fat bastard. Got other items under here too Great and speedy service. They are quick, making sure you know and offer help on what to order, which I'm absolutely grateful for. Parking was relatively easy to find, but mainly metered parking. There were a couple people lining up when I got here at 2pm but there were plenty of seats so we didn't really have to wait. You can also sit on the bar too and I didn't know but they're a Michelin restaurant
google avatar

Adrianna S.

Yelp
What a great little spot! We went for happy hour on a Wednesday (happy hour is from 2-6) and it was pretty full at 3 PM. We did grab a couple of seats at the bar and we were served right away. There were lots of happy hour wines, beers and food to choose from. We ordered the premium featured oysters (there were 2 kinds of premium oysters on happy hour) for $2.75 each and the lobster roll (which comes in two rolls). Everything was so delicious! And fast! Highly recommend this place for happy hour.
google avatar

Yelp
Our first meal in Vancouver and THE best, it happened to be happy hour and very close to where we were staying, what luck! REALLY AFFORDABLE happy hour, oysters were so good, fresh and cheap! Staff at the bar are so friendly and efficient ---fanny bay oyster shooters: these are so dangerously good! Absolutely loved the Caesar mix on the rim ---fish tacos: also delish, they just know how to do seafood here ---crab-onara: kelp pasta, I thought it was ok but the hubby loved it We joked we would come back multiple days but never got the chance, will definitely be back if we return to Vancouver though
google avatar

Yelp
Oyster heaven. My all-time favorites in one place, fantastic service sitting @ the oyster bar. Loved the ambiance as well - this place shouldn't be missed!

Yelp
This place is BUSY! Nonstop lines and they move people in and out very quickly so your wait time is much quicker than what they may have initially told you. They are Michelin recommended so I was excited to come by. They have happy hour from 2-6pm, but the discounts are not super steep so it is not a huge issue if you miss out ($1-2 difference). - Crab-onara - kelp noodles that was very unique and tasty; the portion was small though - Oysters - we tried a few of the different types, but I preferred the cheaper options though I'm no oyster expert - Lobster roll - surprised with the pricing as this is usually much more expensive - regardless was still enjoyable - Tacos - Tasty, nice, and crispy Overall tasty food. It is definitely not the cheapest of options (though seafood never is). Portions reminded me of a tapas style so smaller portions overall. The food comes out relatively fast, and they are ready to clean the tables when people leave so the turnover is quick. It does feel a little packed and bustling, but they are popular. Overall a tasty seafood location, but I think they overutilize their "Michelin recommendation" to justify their pricing and popularity. Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5

Yelp
Ahoy-ster! Experience (4/5 stars): *Food: tried the happy hour snacks menu. Oysters were fresh and juicy! Didn't like the shooter so prefer oysters and beers *Price: reasonable, less than $3 per oysters *Service: fast *Ambiance: loud and crowded Overall, I'd recommend coming here when in Vancouver! We tried coming again the next day but couldn't make it in time for happy hour. ):

Yelp
Everything about this place was great ! I sat at the bar , told the bartender what kind of oysters I liked she put together a dozen that she thought I would like and she did not disappoint every oyster was perfect in its own way! Will definitely be going back in the future!

Yelp
We stopped in for happy hour and shared between 4 of us 2 dozen featured oysters (5) with a delicious hot sauce and apple cider accompaniment; calamari that was lightly breaded and deep fried (5, my favorite); and the bramble fish (3, lightly battered and deep fried), just not my personal favorite. I enjoyed their Spicy Paloma cocktail (5) that had the just right spice, a nice kick. Service and ambience was top notch. I would definitely come to try the many other seafood options in this quality, popular eatery.

Yelp
Oyster lovers delight and totally convenient for out of towners passing through. Good food, good service.

Yelp
We had a lovely evening at Fanny Bay. The backstory is that FB is owned by an oyster farm. The shell fish are super fresh with a huge selection of oysters, clams, mussels and crabs. The restaurant isn't luxurious but it works well. Our very knowledgeable waitress was terrific: I'd hire her in a minute for any job that deals with the public. We started with a selection of oysters on the half shell. If I remember correctly there were three different varieties-- some sweet, some brined, all lovely. Then we split a huge pan of paella. If you are visiting from Spain you might be disappointed in the less-than-authentic paella but we're not and we weren't. My wife had wine while I stuck with beer. As a digestivo we had amaro Montenegro. A perfect ending to a lovely evening. Bonus point: Fanny Bay is Guide Michelin recommended. No star, however.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place. Amazing selection of oysters, expertly shucked and delicious Dungeness crabs. Great service.

Yelp
This place seems popular. The main draw here are the oysters; but, the rest of the menu is very good, as well. Service is decent. Place seems busy all the time.
