2.5*...Oof, this pains me to write this review being I LOVE their sister restaurant "Brookdale". I'm not sure where to start but from the top... Seated around 6:30 with a primarily empty restaurant but apparently seating us in the section of families with kids was thought to be a great idea...great start to a date night!
Server asked for drinks and and food so placed an order for the "Two Yutes" a glass of "Barco Reale Super Tuscan" and also an order of Clams. The Two Yutes was fine, nothing great, but the wine was spectacular. Unfortunately the appetizer arrived wayyy before our drinks. The clams were luke warm at best and were finished before receiving the drinks or even an acknowledgment from the server. Finally when the server arrived with drinks and an empty plate I requested bread but was informed I need to "order" bread. Fine, please give me bread so we can enjoy dunking in the leftover sauce from the clams... Waited, waited... bread arrived which was focaccia and house butter. The butter might have been the star of the night, but again we just wanted some bread to eat while we enjoyed the drinks.
Entrees arrived while still eating the bread and were just "okay". The vodka parm was way too thin, too oily and on the sweet side. I love thin cutlets, but these only tasted of oil and the sparsely sweet vodka sauce atop. The pork chop was nothing like the pictures Ive seen and just didn't make sense. The pork chop was cooked perfect, but was topped with a sausage and pepper/onion "relish". The sauce was okay, but again it just didn't make sense in my opinion and was just again, "okay". The service felt completely uncomfortable, absolutely non attentive, and just made this experience super lackluster. Also, stop with the service fees, it's just tacky please work it into the pricing.
Maybe I went in with high hopes and wanted more, but I didn't have or felt anything that would make me come back unfortunately.
