A Daughter Honors Her Mother’s Dreams at This New SGV Vietnamese Restaurant | Eater LA

"I’m highlighting Fanny’s upcoming dinner-and-movie event on November 29 tied to the theatrical release of Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever: the evening begins with a themed four-course tasting menu by Bridgetown Roti chef-owner Rashida Holmes featuring dishes like red pepper goat with roti and a pineapple tart with passion fruit, with an optional wine pairing by Fanny’s wine director Henri Marquis, and dinner will be followed by a screening of Black Panther in the museum’s theater; dinner is $88 (reservations on OpenTable) and movie tickets can be purchased on the Academy Museum website." - Jean Trinh

This was a nice place within walking distance of the main street of Calistoga. Restaurants and spas were all within a 10 minute walk. We were able to drive up, park our car in front, and we never had to drive again until we left! Nice B&B; Deanna (who runs the place) was very nice and accommodating. Had a few dogs who were really well behaved and liked to join the guests during breakfast! Room was clean and cozy. Nice shared area (living room) downstairs with a large fireplace. You could really enjoy a nice book! We would return!

On our honeymoon road tripping through California. Everything was booked for us through Virgin Atlantic, apart from 's which I found when searching places near Napa. Now we love a bed and breakfast, they are very personal and being allowed to use someone else's home as your own I always think is very special. ||Deanna was a brilliant host and her daily breakfasts were amazinnnnnng!! She sat with us and went through a few activities and wineries for us to visit and was very knowledge about the area. We were joined daily at breakfast by her 3 gorgeous dogs, Rudy, TinTin and Clifford, and even sat and chatted with the other guests after breakfast. There is a beautiful porch with seating area, and hammock and picnic bench in the garden. It's so peaceful to sit. We enjoyed wine and lunch there one afternoon.||The rooms are compact but very comfortable, and the communal area is so lovely. It is in close walking distance of so many lovely places, and you don't have to drive for dinner which is a huge bonus. I felt very safe at Fanny's and loved staying here!||We were so saddened to hear this week that Calistoga had been fully evacuated due to fires in the area, and Deanna we hope you, your family and the dogs are all safe and that Fanny's continues to thrive. Thank you for some lovely memories!!

We had a wonderful stay at Fanny's this month. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts were incredible! Deanna also had some very helpful suggestions for places to see, and the best routes to get there. Our daughter also stayed with us, and Deanna made special accommodations so she could stay in the same room. We would definitely recommend Fanny's for anyone staying in the area.

Note: My husband and I stayed 3 nights a couple of years ago, but I never submitted a review. We were so impressed with Fanny’s that, all these years later, I thought better late than never. Fanny’s has cute comfortable guest rooms and living room, nicely decorated with a casual atmosphere that was so inviting. We enjoyed the large front porch as it is a quiet place to rest between wine tasting and dinner. Fanny’s location is on a quiet street but walkable to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was amazing, each breakfast had a different entree along with alternatives, like yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, etc. The owner, Deanne customized the entree to accommodate my husband’s food allergy. Free WiFi provided, big plus for us. We will stay again next time we visit Napa Valley.

This is a wonderful, quirky and extremely comfortable place. The service is superb but it retains a laid back homely feel. Deanna is s wonderful hostess and a great cook proved by her wonderful breakfasts. She was very knowledgeable about the local area and had some great suggestions about places to visit, eat etc. She also provided wine glasses and corkscrews for those who wished to sample their purchases! The rooms are well decorated and spotless and the beds very comfortable. As with other reviewers we hope everyone in Calistoga is ok.

To be honest we booked Fanny's at the last minute and we didn't know what to expect. After an unusual and nervous start we must say that we actually really enjoyed it and it was a pleasant change than your normal corporate hotels. Fanny's is a cosy bed and breakfast with 4 guest rooms upstairs whilst the landlady, who was a wonderful host lives downstairs. The rooms were comfortable and clean and you had access to a shared little cabin lounge area with a TV etc. Breakfast was personally cooked and was fantastic, plus it was really nice to meet and speak with other guests and get to know them, whilst at the same time the landlady gave us great advice on local activities, places to visit and restaurants. |Fanny's is just 5 minutes walk to the Main Street in Calistoga which has some very nice shops and ample eating options.|Very nice stay and happy to recommend.

This B&B is located one block from the "main drag". There are 4 bedrooms with ensuite-bathrooms on the 2nd floor/attic level. All bedrooms are very well decorated. It was very clean, bed was quite comfy, bathroom was small but had everything one needed. It had a cottage-feel to it, walls whitewashed, and pretty fabric and cute bric-a-brac. The rest of the house looked very historic. The breakfast was to die for.......fresh, fresh, freshly made fruit, frittata, and a variety of breads. ||It is a very calm, and quiet establishment....so much so, that I found myself speaking in hushed tones in our room. Probably not the best choice for families. Great choice for couples!

We were the only guests as it is the off season but we had a great time!! The house is very beautiful and well decorated. The bedroom was very comfortable and even had the same box fan we have at home!! Deanna was great and the breakfast was amazing!! Can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
We stayed here this weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Deanna greeted us and gave us some great recommendations to go to dinner and some places to go. We ate at Sam's Socia club for dinner and a were so grateful she recommended it! It was so wonderful! The room was nice and clean. It had everything we needed and loved all the extra pillows. The house is so lovely! We also enjoyed visiting with her precious dogs. We ended our stay with a phenomenal breakfast Deanna made along with some hot coffee, coconut creamer and some orange juice. I'm attaching some photos to share. Thank you so much Deanna for making us feel so at home.

Yelp
This little red house-turned- B&B is located in a residential neighborhood just off the main drag that runs through Calistoga. Calistoga country-chic b & b. When we arrived, there was a sign on the door telling us to go upstairs and pick out whatever room we wanted. I loved the easy-going attitude. We went upstairs and chose a cute room (all rooms are cute- and there are only 4 rooms). There were a lot of board games at Fanny's, and rooms, I think, are $160 a night. That night we were able to walk to a nearby brewery (2 blocks away), and drink and talked and ordered yummy calimari without having to worry about driving home. You don't have to worry about being locked out of Fanny's, as it stays unlocked at night. Visiting from Oakland, it felt so good to walk around a night without an iota of worry. The highlight - breakfast. The woman who made us breakfast used to have a restaurant and made us the most gourmet, yummy, balanced breakfast! We had individually-made quiches, salad with parmesan, fruit, two types of bread to choose from, and a homemade apple tart. And yummy juice. I mean, wow, I was not expecting that. It was soooo sooo oSOOOSoo O SO good. o so good. O so good. Yum. And a beautiful presentation. Bountiful and lip-smacking country good. I'd definitely stay here again!

Yelp
First thing - notice how long it's been since anyone left a review. My experience was first, as instructed by a sign when walking in to go upstairs and pick a room. No one except the cleaning lady was around to answer any questions, so this is what my girlfriend and I did. We found a nice enough room, but immediately discovered the door to our space does not lock. First sign that this might not work as our accommodation for the weekend for the wedding we were attending. While discussing, my girlfriend noticed blood on a pillowcase. This obviously didn't help with our concerns about the room, so we started calling and leaving messages for the number listed for the property. All were unanswered. We decided we could maybe make it work for just tonight and then stay somewhere else the next night since we had the reception dinner for the rest of the night in a couple hours and my girlfriend would just shower and we could go and try to talk to the owner later. My girlfriend ran water for her shower and after 5 minutes she said there was no hot water. We booked another hotel and left immediately. A few hours later and only after submitting an inquiry to the booking website about a refund did I receive a call from the owner. She claimed there was hot water and said she'd be happy to give a new pillowcase. When I raised the issue of the security of our belongings, she told me that this is only an issue and concern for people like me. I don't even know what that means. Ultimately she was unwilling to concede anything else. I decided to go discuss things with her the next morning and was greeted by loudly barking dogs as I entered the house. The conversation led nowhere and I left. I'm sharing my experience so you don't have to have a similar one. Again there are no locks on the doors and there may or may not be someone there to greet you or tell you anything about your stay. And that's the best that can be said about Fanny's by me.

Yelp
Keeping the owner of Fanny's and this lovely home in our prayers and thoughts as evacuations start for the city of Calistoga, 10/11/17. May this lovely town be untouched by the devastation that has occurred in surrounding towns this fire season.

Yelp
Very nice location, an easy walk to the restaurants of Calistoga. Nice, tidy rooms, and very pleasant shared outside grounds. No TV in the rooms. Fantastic breakfast. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I took an overnight trip to Calistoga for some peace and quiet away from the city (SF) and as a treat to myself for my birthday. I feel really lucky to have found this place. and will be back. It's literally two blocks from the main strip of the town with plenty of local restaurants, bars, coffee houses, bookstores, and more. In a residential neighborhood full of other historic homes. It was a really beautiful place, craftsmen (and it looked like the yard had recent updates). The downstairs includes a dining area and seating area (with board games) and a working fireplace. Check-in is seamless and easy. The room was great for me (one person) with a small but good bathroom with great hot water. The bed was really comfortable, with good sheets, and great pillows. There's a reading chair int he corner. There's also wireless (but I didn't realize this till later, which was ok since I needed to be offline). But also plenty of books and magazines (and a reading lamp attached to the bed). I was really excited to see the windows open.. And it's quiet enough to leave them open all night. I went in April, so the days were warm and the nights reasonably cool. Also, if you're even reasonably vain, there were great mirrors. Breakfast is something to savor. I passed on the individually made frittatas, but the juice and muffins were delicious. Deanna, recommended the Calistoga shuffle, which only cost $1 and will take you anywhere in the town. So, I went to the Old Faithful Geyser, and walked over to Envy Vineyards for a tasting and left with a great bottle of Petit Shirah. Then back to Fanny's (dropped off right at the corner). This was a great and visit and makes for a reasonably priced visit to wine country. I would say, stay here, but then there might not be room for me :) . Thanks for hosting.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a quiet weekend getaway to Napa county and stumbled upon Fanny's while searching for B&Bs on Yelp. Admittedly, even though the reviews were raving, I felt "forced" to book at Fanny's because of the price - $150 a night (plus tax) as opposed to nearly $200 everywhere else. Furthermore, I looked around the area on Google streetview and it just did seem 'romantic' to me... but I guess some risks are worth to be taken. When we arrived, late Friday afternoon, the burgundy house that is Fanny's seemed so cozy and inviting that I couldn't wait to get inside. When we climbed up the stairs, the door had a little sign - come on in and grab a room! The 'middle-america' style house, with its creaky wooden floors, wood beams, walls and antique decor was absolutely perfect. The stairs, narrow and tall lead the guests to the top floor where there are 4 rooms to choose from, each with a private bathroom. The cottage-y feeling instantly drew away all my concerns - it was just what we wanted. The rooms are cute and tidy; nice queen sized bed, a little one-person couch and closet, A/C, ceiling fan but no TV - and we saw it as a good thing. The bathrooms are also very clean although a bit narrow. But the highlight of this place is Deanna, the innkeeper, herself! Friendly, full of good information about what to do around the place, and an incredible cook! We had the pleasure of enjoying her hand-made breakfasts twice and both times they were absolutely delicious! So if you are looking for a nice little B&B for a weekend getaway in Wine Country - give Fanny's a consideration... :)

Yelp
My girlfriend and I's stay at Fanny's lasted 2 hours. We arrived and the room we were given had a slanted ceiling that only allowed one to stand upright on one half of the room. Add to that, when you get out of the bed on the slanted side of the room, your head hits the ceiling. There was limited light in the room, and it just had this attic/cave feeling. She started getting claustrophobic. We asked to cancel. The owner refused and then tried asking our neighbors to switch rooms with us (they didn't seem all that eager). We paid the $171 and moved to the Mount View Hotel nearby, which was similarly priced and great (heated pool, jacuzzi, nice room, and crazy of crazy, you could stand upright in the entire room). Anyways, I'm sure the breakfast is great and the grounds were quiet and nice. But the owners should be more upfront with prospective patrons about the type of room they're getting. Also, if you're going to stay there, make sure you ask about the type of room you're getting.

Yelp
Cute. cute. CUTE! Reasonably priced (the area is normally expensive), nice room, good breakfast, and you get greeted by the three awesome dogs (all were rescues). This is my first experience with a B&B and it certainly turned me on to doing it again. I would love to stay here again, especially when not on a work trip.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE Fanny's and it's wonderful owner, Deanna. I had a wedding in Calistoga in early August and stumbled upon Fanny's as I was researching places to stay. SO glad I did because it was a special experience. In this day of AirBnb, what a treat to stay at an actual Bread & Breakfast, with all sorts of special touches. The house sits on a great piece of property about a block & a half from the center of town...yet world's away. There's a big, wide front porch, cozy bedrooms with adorable bathrooms and a huge tree in the yard that I could've stared at for hours. And the breakfasts were just wow with delicious fresh farmer's market fruits & veggies and excellent coffee. The best part was chatting with Deanna who's a wealthy of knowledge and wisdom. A+++++

Yelp
We stayed here over memorial day weekend and it was a blast. The race track was LOUD a few blocks away, so if you want sleep any earlier than midnight when they're going on, good luck. But location was great, minus the creepy, vacant old house kitty-corner to Fanny's. Supposedly an old hospital? Hmm... nothing freaky happened while we were there but one's got to think there are some stories to that place. Yikes. The owner was really pleasant and willing to lend her expertise on local activities and wineries. And breakfast was AWESOME. Frittatas, quiche, some south american (ala Mexican) egg dish with tortilla chips that I cannot for the life of me remember... yum. Fresh fruit, fresh bread/muffins and coffee rounded out each morning. So good. Rooms were sort of funky, I couldn't sit up straight on my side of the bed due to a slanted roof, which was pretty neat had I not been trying to refrain from cracking my dome on the wall. For some reason the bed did not work for me, despite all the wine consumed and delicious food eaten. Not sure what the deal was, I don't think it had a problem, just wasn't to my liking so I can't blame Fanny's for it. Only real issue at all was a slight inconvenience - the shower was TINY. We're pretty inexperienced at B&B stays, so I may just be ignorant but it would've been nice to have a shower you could wash your legs in, and a shower head that you didn't have to duck down to in order to wash your hair. Petty stuff though, definitely worth the stay if you're not too full of yourself and your needs. I'd definitely stay there again.

Yelp
We recently enjoyed a lovely weekend getaway in Calistoga and have no regrets about staying at Fanny's. The house was charming and comfortable. The porch was handsome and provided a great setting for evening wine and Boggle. The bed was super comfy. And the breakfast was out of this world. Deanna generously accommodated us by serving a delicious vegan breakfast, which included perfect chilaquiles. She also provided coconut creamer for our coffee and Earth Balance for our toast. It was a great experience and we will definitely pay another visit. (Tall people, beware: the roof by the bed is steeply pitched and I bumped my head no less than 4 times. But I'm also uncoordinated!)

Yelp
Completely exceeded our expectations. I was visiting Napa Valley with my wife for the first time. We found Fanny's on yelp. We arrived around 4pm and claimed one of the rooms upstairs. Shortly after we were greeted by Deanne who welcomed us and gave us some basic logistical information. We took Deanne's recommendation and ate at a local Mexican restaurant (order the steak tacos). The town of Calistoga is quaint and perfect for walking. We strolled the Main Street and found a local grocery store just a short walk away where we picked up a few items we forgot to pack. The bed was comfortable and we had no problem getting a full nights rest. We were up early and actually made a drive back to Napa (city) to catch an early morning crossfit WOD. We arrived back at Fanny's just in time for morning coffee. We showered and made our way down for breakfast. Deanne had hot raspberry bread pudding and freshly cut fruit waiting for us. There were also other breads, pastries, and jam. After helping ourselves to these starters Joanne brought in a freshly made frittata...YUM ! We packed our things and left shortly after. Maybe the best experience came later that day after we traveled back into San Francisco for the business leg of our trip. I found that I had left my keys at Fanny's and had no transportation back to Calistoga. A bit panicked, I called Deanne who calmly took care of shipping the keys (expedited) to our hotel in SF. We were able to continue on our trip without stressing about our keys. We would recommend Fanny's to anyone visiting Napa Valley. -- Andrew Raleigh, NC

Yelp
RUN AWAY. Please look at the other RECENT Reviews. 0 privacy, 0 security, rude service. Have never even felt the need until now to leave a review before because it was that bad. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Yelp
As another reviewer wrote, I'm surprised that there are so many 5 stars... My wife and I booked a room for a one night get away. We figured we would drive up day of, go wine tasting, sleep, then drive home in the morning. I paid 230 dollars (don't know if that's standard for the place but everything else was sold out and for much higher, don't know if it was a weekend with a special event in the area) So when we arrived at about 1 PM there were no signs, no people, no directions, not even a note. I figured out what to do based on other reviews. We picked a room and "claimed" it by leaving our bag inside (no keys for locks, didn't like that). So after leaving out stuff inside unsecure, we left for the day. When we came back at night all the other doors were closed and still no sign, don't know if I am suppose to sign something... a receipt... anything... how do they know I'm not just a hobo coming in to sleep for the night without paying... The windows had no way to cover them so someone from the street or house next door got a perfect shot into the room... I propped a bunch of pillows in front of them for some privacy... the beds were super squeaky for a place with thin walls. O the room did have air conditioning but no TV. In the morning I was expecting magic since I read the reviews here raving about the breakfast... yes it was good but nothing crazy... eggs, sausage, fruit, toast with a selection of tea, coffee or juice. The "nice lady" that cooked the food was not so nice when my wife told her she had to have gluten free/dairy free breakfast. (no service with a smile!) We left shortly after. I am not impressed. I could have gotten better service and experience from a hotel... which is where I will go next time... This place gets 3 stars based on the house/decoration (my wife loved that), cleanliness, and proximity to downtown (walking distance, 2 or 3 blocks).

Yelp
Best deal around when it comes to the Napa Valley. My husband and I recently stayed two nights here for a short, romantic getaway. Fanny's is a beautifully furnished B&B, the accommodations are simple, but pretty. Breakfast is delicious and large, great coffee. The owner is friendly and helpful. The entire place is clean and comfortable. The rooms are small with angled ceilings, but there is no way a normal sized person would hit his/her head on the ceiling. The bathrooms are very utilitarian, and there is no in room television. Fanny's is the perfect place to see the Napa Valley or "get away from it all."

Yelp
We had a lovely stay at Fanny's! The interior and exterior are quaint and well decorated. Enjoyed a glass of wine while relaxing on the hammock in the front! Breakfast was wonderful, filling and had many options (e.g., pastries, fruit, veggies, meat, coffee, tea, water, juice). The bed was super comfortable which was a welcome retreat after a few days of traveling. The rooms are on the small side (as I find with many B&Bs) but why are you hanging out in your room in wine country! There is a TV in the common area, which we probably wouldn't have watched at all generally, but we had to check on March Madness! The owner has 3 cute dogs which she keeps in her area, but since we are dog people, she let them out downstairs (all the rooms are upstairs, so they can't reach private areas) and we loved playing with the sweeties while waiting for breakfast. The only reason I docked a star was that we weren't provided a key to lock our room. There was a sign on the front that said choose an open room when we arrived. That was convenient to settle in right when we arrived, but as we had many belongings, I was a bit nervous leaving everything unattended. When we crossed paths with Deanna (owner), she assured us everything would be fine, though I would've liked that peace of mind. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Fanny's again.

Yelp
I LOVED this little B&B. It's super quiet, very relaxing and quaint. The downstairs area is pretty large, with a dining area and a living room space (with a fireplace). There's a nice porch on which you can sit and relax. Upstairs are four rooms, and you get to pick whichever one is open. We chose a cute room upstairs, to the right. It was bright, and cozy. Everything is very clean, organized, and no odors anywhere. Outside the rooms (and also downstairs) are wine glasses, bottle openers, and napkins. Each room has towels, and all other things needed for a bathroom. The rooms and bathrooms are a bit small, it's definitely not a hotel room that people are used to. Then again, for those people who just need to sleep and grab a bite and relax, you really don't need a huge room. This was just perfect. Also, the rooms are nowhere near as depressing as hotel rooms. They're bright and almost nautically colorful. The owner is very nice, and has these three adorable dogs and one furry orange cat. The dogs are awesome!!! They were cute, loved attention, and weren't loud. Plus side, there was no fur anywhere, and like I said, extremely clean. Just an FYI, she keeps them in another part of the building, and they don't go upstairs. She asked us if it was okay to let them run around in the downstairs area while we were there. So super considerate host. It rained in the evening the night we stayed there, so fiance and I opened up a bottle of wine, each grabbed a book off the shelves, and sat on the porch reading. Then we moved inside after a while, sitting by the fireplace. Breakfast was delicious. A nice assortment of toast and spreads, coffee, tea, and juice, and then getting a place with fresh fruit, yogurt, and a scone. Follow that up with a freshly made vegetable and prosciutto frittata. Next time we're wine tasting in the area, we'll be staying again at Fanny's. A wonderful stay all around. Did I mention the cute dogs?

Yelp
Such a lovely little B&B, great affordable place for a few nights in Calistoga. Deanna is a kind and gracious hostess and is happy to give you recommendations for places to visit during your stay. Breakfast each morning was amazing! Freshly made juice, coffee, an assortment of teas and on each of the three mornings a new breakfast creation always with fresh fruit on the side.

Yelp
Booked a reservation here for two nights and were really excited to try something a little different. Unfortunately, our experience was very similar to the most recent review which we wish we would have seen before booking. Like the last couple we arrived to a note on the door letting us know to pick any room with an open door. There was no one working at the property at all or to greet us. When we got to our room we planned to quickly put our things away and then meet some friends for a dinner but when we looked for a way to lock our bedroom door there was no key. We called the listed number and waited over an hour to hear anything. When she did call back she assured us everything would be fine if we just shut our door. What? She told us it was her house and there was nothing to worry about. Both of us traveled with work computers, iPads and had jewelry that we were not comfortable leaving in an unlocked room next to 3 other rooms with people we did not know and a wide open front door with no one supervising the house. We were also told "I try not to lock you out" when asked if we'd ever be given a key to the main house. I've never heard of having to let my accommodation know what time I'm planning on returning at night. We immediately asked to cancel our reservation. Had not been in the room for more than 2 hours and used nothing and Deanna refused flat out. Currently working with the booking site to see if we can remedy the situation but definitely no help coming from Fanny's side. Maybe if this issue had been very clear in the booking info people could be on board with it- but with no warning of something that in all honesty is an obvious need these days- this seems like a HUGE problem.

Yelp
You know how bed and breakfasts can be Over cute, and Irritatingly precious, and In your face chatty? Fanny's is none of those things, but instead offers a really relaxing, serene, low-key and gourmet experience on a quiet block near to everything. I have some special dietary needs and Deanna went above and beyond, creating foods everyone was flipping over and they didn't even know they had no WHEAT or DAIRY!! Four rooms means a small group for breakfast, and we lucked out with a good mix of people and fun, easy conversation over breakfast. She knows a lot about the area and can give great tips for what to do and where to go. It's like your own little house to come and go as you please. I'll always go back here, when I visit Calistoga.

Yelp
Loved staying the weekend at Fannys with my wife. While there you realize life can be a lot simpler. The house is well kept and rooms are just enough for what you want. Deanna is a great host and made us feel right at home. She has 3 lovely dogs that welcome you to the house and provide company at breakfast. Since we're dog lovers this was a great way to spend the morning. Deanna makes a wonderful breakfast. I missed the first days breakfast, because I'm a late sleeper. My wife insisted I don't miss it again. I'm glad I didn't. Planning to make this an annual get away for me and my wife.

Yelp
I'm really surprised by all the five star reviews of Fanny's. I've stayed here twice in the last few years and was not impressed either time. The house itself is beautiful with a spacious front porch that would be wonderful for relaxing. As many people have noted on Trip Advisor, the proprietor is not particularly warm or friendly but will answer your questions if asked. Her breakfast were generous and delightful; she seemed fine with accommodating dietary restrictions though, again, not particularly friendly about it. Rooms are pretty tight, as are bathrooms, but it's nice that each room has a private bathroom. Beds were just OK, a little on the soft side. It's a bit rustic and there's a cute sitting room/loft where you can relax at the end of the evening. Location is not directly in downtown but a short walk away. The price is right though and if don't plan on spending too much time in the house, it's a fine option.

Yelp
If you want to disconnect and get away from it all, without leaving California, then THIS is the place for you. This B&B is just a few short blocks from Downtown Calistoga (*snickers*, you're not in the city anymore, hence "get away") and its many spas, picturesque driving and biking distance from more wineries than I can count, the Petrified Forest and Calistoga's very own Old Faithful. As soon as you walk into this beautifully decorated Craftman style home, it feels like home away from home, but better: you don't have to cook and clean... But please, try not to be a slob, lol. Deanna is the most amazing B&B hostess/owner you'll ever find, and she definitely cooks up the must scrumdeliumptious breakfasts! Every day was pleasant culinary surprise, from the frittatas, to the little croissants with the chocolate in the middle baked fresh on site! YUMMY! The location: Charming! The rooms: Cozy, and even though the ceiling in our room was slanted, you learn pretty quick how to navigate around that (at 5'2", slanted ceilings don't bother me, lol). The living room: So welcoming, you may not want to leave... And I can vouch for that; we extended our stay an extra day. The surroundings: Magical. Our stay: Relaxing. Overall, a stay at Fanny's while visiting wine country, is an absolute MUST if you're looking to relax.

Yelp
After visiting Fanny's I think its possible I haven't been to a real B&B. This place is perfect. Bed by far the best I have slept on in years. We debated in depth on even leaving it. The cozy common areas and boardgames made you feel right at home and the breakfast delicious. All and all the best Saturday of 2011. Not to mention the most romantic ones I can remember.

Yelp
This was a very conveniently located b&b in Calistoga with a quiet, quaint atmosphere. The front porch was lovely, and the shady hammock was even better. And the breakfast (cooked by the owner) was better than any breakfast you could get at any restaurant in Calistoga or the surrounding areas -- seriously impressive and delicious. My only complaints are that the floors in the rooms are so squeaky that it sounds like a siren in the middle of the night if you have to get up for any reason. Also, the plumbing left something to be desired -- our second day there, we woke up to remnants of sewage in the shower from a septic back up problem. Needless to say, we skipped our showers that day. Aside from that, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Yelp
Very pretty house. The room is small but we were not there during the day so it was not a big deal. The only issue I found was that the dogs sometimes bark when you walk by the owners area. It was a little annoying.

Yelp
Picture perfect little B&B in Calistoga! Loved the common areas open to the guests, the bookshelves, and the game shelves! I absolutely love window seats and was enjoyed the upstairs window seat. The rooms are small, but I knew this ahead of time from the hotels.com pictures and information. The air conditioning was awesome - kept us nice and cool in the hot summer. However, another gueest said that their air conditioning barely worked. Breakfast in the morning was soooooo delicious! Wonderland coffee, delicious muffins, fresh fruit cut up and mixed, fresh yogurt, delicious bread for toast and jams to go with it. Didn't have time to try the frittata.

Yelp
This is a really amazing place. Went over night on our trip to SF to see Redwood trees and the wineries and found this great B&B the same day online. Comfortable beds, beautiful rooms, the best breakfast I've had since I last went to Canada, and all the rooms have their own cute little bathrooms. Super neat and comfortable, plus the innkeeper is extremely helpful and nice. I wish I could stay here all year long!

Yelp
Home away from home! Sitting by the fireplace, reading my book with the friendly pups by your feet and lap before breakfast-so relaxing! And the breakfast-delicious, wonderful, scrumptious, ..... When you stay here, please don't skip it! Thank you, Deanna for making our stay a relaxing, wonderful experience!

Yelp
What a wonderful stay. We visited for 2 nights and the accommodations were really nice, especially the breakfast, the porch for relaxing, and the quaint picturesque town of Calistoga. Deanna, the owner, is kind and gracious. Her breakfast is gourmet and accommodating to vegetarian and vegan needs. Thank you for a great time. We will return again!

Yelp
Want a very comfortable, relaxing get a way? Fanny's is the place to go! I have never slept better, and to awaken to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee was the best-only surpassed by the cinnamon toast, fabulous eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and the most gracious Deanna! Everything was PERFECT. Charlotte Marin County

Yelp
I don't have words adequate to describe how amazing our stay at Fanny's was. The innkeeper, Deanna, is a true gem. Very hospitable, helpful and an amazing cook; you'll be hard pressed to find such tasty breakfasts. She went above and beyond to get coffee and breakfast together for our last morning there, meaning she woke up at the crack of dawn, literally, to do so and to see us off. I sure didn't expect that but was oh so grateful! The resident dogs kept megreat company and were an added bonus to this charming, authentic b&b. Decor is just as I would love my own home to mirror. There will be no question about where we will lodge on our return trips to wine country in the years to come. This is indeed our true home away from home.

Yelp
Stayed there only one night, perfect for what I was looking for. Deanna was friendly and solicitous but not overly so. Only glitch was I couldn't figure out how to turn the a/c, which is high up the wall, down. But no big deal. Loved it.

Yelp
Our favorite place to stay in the Napa valley; spacious common area downstairs; relaxing front porch seating; shade trees with squirrels; owner/ hostess Deanna is not only a sweetheart but a gourmet chef. Fanny's is the best.

Yelp
My BF and I just visited Fanny's this past weekend for his birthday. It rained all weekend but that did not matter. Deanna's home is warm, lovely and decorated very nicely. Big fire in the living room, coffee and tea in the dining room...all very nice. Our room was spacious with soft chairs and a window seat. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows on the bed. Breakfast both days was awesome; Quiche, raspberry almond tart, homemade muffins, fresh fruit. Deanna has been the innkeeper and owner for 30 years and knows the area. She also used to have a restaurant and it shows as both mornings our breakfast was quite awesome! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Super little B&B. Great house and Deanna is the best. She knows the area very well and her breakfast is to die for. My wife and I are not big morning eaters but we cleaned our plates as it was so good. Super quiet as well and just a block from the downtown. Large yard with hammock and a great porch for morning coffee and evening wine.

Yelp
Just stayed there on a hot weekend. I agree with the other reviewers: nice enough place, unpretentious, not too cutesy. One major problem though. We were there during a heat wave and the AC is nowhere near good enough to cool the old place, so the rooms upstairs were uninhabitable for most the day, only cooled down at night. So check the weather before you stay there.

Yelp
Three of us (parents and 14 year old) stayed 2 nights during the work week. It was a slow time and we were the only occupants. Deanna (owner) said since the other more expensive rooms for 3 were unoccupied we could have them for the lower price of our registered room. Beds were most comfortable. Breakfast was magnificent. Fascinating books and collectibles in room and entry area. Delightful host. Quiet neighborhood only two blocks from Lincoln, the main drag in Calistoga. Recommend highly.

Yelp
I came across this calistoga b&b by chance this past summer--and was so lucky to have been able to get it at the last minute. The two upstairs bedrooms were both clean and quaint and charming with separate baths and gorgeous quilts. I had some evening quiet time in a window seat upstairs with a glass of complementary wine. The front porch is a nice place to sit outside. The owner is friendly and accessible--but not overly chatty. The breakfast was abundant and wonderful--and she was happy to accommodate vegetarian restrictions. The cost was totally reasonable and the location was a very close walk to everything "in town". I totally recommend for a couple or even an individual looking for a little get-away.

Yelp
My sister and I stayed at Fanny's for a long weekend and absolutely loved it! The location is incredibly convenient, just a few minutes walk to town. Breakfast every morning, cooked by the owner herself, was delightful! We had frittatas, quiche, and French toast, along with fresh bread and jam, a variety of teas, coffee, and juice. Truly could not have been better! The room was cute with a good dose of character. The room always looked beautiful with everything replenished when we returned from our daily adventures. The owner, Deanna, is lovely and always took the time to talk to us each morning about our plans and gave us great advice on places to visit. I have stayed in chain hotels in Calistoga that cost more and are loud and uncomfortable. I highly recommend selecting a B&B like Fanny's instead of wasting your money on a big hotel. The charm of a place like this cannot be beat. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary in Napa and stayed at Fanny's B&B. We had never stayed in a B&B before and were a little unsure of how it would be. However, we were impressed the minute we got there. The house is beautiful and very charming. The large porch spanning the whole front of the house is so welcoming and we spent an evening out there sipping wine and eating cheese with another couple staying there. We also loved the comfy hammock in the front yard. There is a large living room where guests can sit and relax in the cozy over-sized chairs and sip wine or read a book (there are several bookcases with lots of books to choose from). The rooms are on the small side and so are the bathrooms, but they are still very comfortable. And, having your own private bathroom is a huge bonus. I did love all of the interesting nicknack's in the rooms and throughout the house, they gave it a great touch. Best of all, the breakfast was AMAZING! Tons of different food to choose from, not just the typical muffin and fruit options. The host creates new and different gourmet breakfasts each morning. We had such a great time on our trip and staying at Fanny's definitely made the experience. Oh and one more thing....they have some of the best prices in all of Napa! I can't wait to go back!
