"The first boba shop in the US was none other than Fantasia Coffee and Tea. Established in 1997, Fantasia made a name for itself by informing the community of tea’s many health benefits. To this day, the shop’s tried-and-true beverages are made with unrefined tea leaves and natural ingredients. Though their menu options vary by season, some of their most consistently popular drinks are the Classic Milk Teas, Fresh Grapefruit Green Tea, Lychee Green Tea, Taro Fresh Milk, and the Muddy Okinawa Teas, which are delicately topped with cream and Oreo crumbs." - Cathy Park

Google
Wow! Absolutely amazing. The taro tasted so fresh, and the matcha was very smooth. Very fast service too! I'll definitely be coming back. :)

Colin Huang

Google
Standard boba place. Their red bean ice was pretty good but a bit overpriced. Two drinks came out to $17, par for the course these day, and one of them was just a basic mango green tea. Good location and has outdoor seating for people watching.

Alka Tomar

Google
Good place to sit and eat. Had their banana Nutella toast which was amazing. Bagels and coffee are good too.

Google
Lot's of creative toppings, delicious flavors. Real lychee bits as well as lychee jelly are tasty choices. Lighten up on the sugar level. Lights snacks: macarons, flan, cookies, adorable cups with lids, thermoses, insulated bottles, teapots can be purchased on the side. Expansive outdoor feel allows for leisurely sipping while enjoying the marvelous California temperatures. there's plenty of indoor seating too. Add this spot onto your list of boba options,

Google
Good tea, nice atmosphere, and great service! It's tucked into the back of the shopping center but its atmosphere is much better than the rest with good seating and tables. The staff were glad to remake a drink when I realized I made a mistake, and the servings are generous and fairly priced.

Veni Are

Google
Had a latte and mango panna cotta. The latte was alright but seemed to focus more on quantity than quality. The mango panna cotta, sadly, was a disappointment. I hope they'll up their game soon because the potential for a great cafe experience is there.

Mini Rag

Google
Sadly quite overrated, Quickly is right around the corner, please go there. The teas at Fantasia have little taste, the service is meh, and the prices are high. Ex the hibiscus tasty like bland cranberries and Jasmine fresh lime is more bitter lime. Unlike all other places, their lychee jelly floats instead of sink which makes it hard to enjoy the drink.

Google
Wow!! Love my mango green tea with strawberries bobas. I been looking for something like this. The macarons are great, they are not so sweet they are perfect. I recommend this place!!

Melinda Rose C.

Yelp
This has always been a childhood fav and they have pretty good pearls but nowadays ten ren has better tea. My main complaint today is that their wifi is really really slow so I can't convince myself to come here when I need to study either. Not a good study spot and they don't have the best tea either.

Lloyd C.

Yelp
This is one of the original boba milk tea stores that came to the Bay Area back in 1997. Classic Milk Tea with Boba. Great tea taste with soft and chewy boba. Always spot on with their quality. They are around after all these years of competing with other shops!

Julie L.

Yelp
Solid spot. I came here to get some work done and whatever you do, do not count on their wifi. Wow, it has to be the slowest thing ever... like DSL speed. Otherwise, there's a couple plugs and also lots of outdoor and indoor seating. There's also a single restroom that is available too. Drinks there were solid. I got a basic milk tea. Would come back to work, but just not depend on their internet service.

Derek S.

Yelp
Came by the other day for some black milk tea with pearls and it was a decent experience. Parking is available on the surface lot or parking garage at Cupertino Village. Fantasia uses Five Stars rewards program and usually offers a free upgrade for up to 8 drinks once a week. Pearls are usually excellent being slightly chewy. Their black milk tea is also decent and pretty strong, for US standards. There is an option for ice and sugar levels. Staff can be talented and some opt to don a mask and/or gloves. They do take credit cards too!

Thao V.

Yelp
One of the original OG milk tea spots. I have lots of high school memories and it sill feels so nostalgic being here as an adult. I'm still enjoying their summer series drinks, super yummy and tart. These jarred desserts are also to die for. Don't buy them or you won't be able to stop. Customer service was excellent despite being just one guy in the front. They substituted the some single tables with longer tables for study groups. I love that! I hope they continue to stick around for the next decade in my life.

Sarah C.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday afternoon and the line was out the door! Thankfully, the line moved quickly and we got our drinks very quickly as well. I ordered the Muddy Okinawa Ceylon Milk Tea. The "muddy" part is the brown sugar that they streak on the sides of the cup, which adds that amazing caramelly taste to the drink. The boba was warm still and also had its own brown sugar flavor that mixed perfectly with the milk tea. We didn't expect there to be whipped cream and Oreo crumbs on top too! This is definitely a major dessert drink and we even adjusted to 75% sweetness. I would definitely come back again since it's pretty rare for me to find a place with boba that I really enjoy! Even several hours later sitting in the fridge, the boba is still quite chewy and soft!

Jules Y.

Yelp
My favorite drinks here are the (hot) Taro Fresh Milk with boba and the Grass Jelly Black Tea with boba, both of which I've thoroughly enjoyed growing up. Prices have definitely hiked significantly in the last few years, so I don't consider their prices to be too affordable and only go here on occasion. Be sure to sign up for their Fivestars rewards to get the weekly free size upgrade! -Lychee Frosted Delight w/ Lychee Jelly: 5/5 An iced lychee smoothie with vanilla cream on too. I like adding lychee jelly to double the lychee experience. With the free size upgrade Fivestars deal, the large-sized drink came out to be $7.70... which is higher than I'd like. Went at a nonbusy time (noon) and my drink was made very quickly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available.

Dani A.

Yelp
I have never had a boba as delicious as this! Damn Lychee so good tho i will be back for more

Manning L.

Yelp
Good place for your standard milk tea. I love the lychee jasmine milk tea with boba that has the right amount of sweetness and the real lychee small chunks are nice. The boba is the right firmness too. They have other snacks there which I plan to try nex

Shayla B.

Yelp
Welp... it just didn't do it for me. Maybe it was an off day or maybe they just mucked up my drink?! All of these 5 star reviews have got me questioning if I ordered the right thing. Muddy Okinawa Fresh Milk. This was all the rave and it sounded amazing so I knew I had to try it. I'm rarely ever in this part of town, but I made it point to come to Fantasia to try this very drink. Parking was a nightmare and the line was out the door. BUT... yours truly was right there ready to try this magical boba tea. Have patience because the lines get long and the service is slow. The workers were really sweet, but they clearly needed at least 2 more people behind the counter. They have lots of other teas but they're known for their fresh milk. I adore fresh milk and Okinawa Pearl tea, so I was super excited to get a taste of this. It looked the part but I was left sorely disappointed after taking my first sip. First of all, it was hella watered down. There wasn't much ice in it to begin with, so I don't think it was the ice melting. It tasted like watery milk. It wasn't very sweet even at the maximum sweetness level and even after I mixed it up a bit. I should also note that all of their drinks are non-dairy. I'm not against this, but I do feel like this can affect the taste of milk based teas. This drink wasn't cheap either! Almost $7 without toppings or tip. I mean, maybe this is the going rate nowadays since I don't get boba tea too often. But $7 just seems pricey for something that isn't up to par. So again, maybe this was just an isolated experience given all of their recent 5 star reviews. Based off of this experience alone, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back here again.

Sheridan T.

Yelp
High quality tea shop that uses fresh ingredients in their drinks. My go-to on a wintery day is their hot taro milk. I love that it's made with real taro and not the purple powdery mix-in that's commonly used by other places. Service is always quick and friendly even when they're busy. The cafe ambiance indoors is pleasant with muted colors and no loud music which makes it a good environment to work or study.

Anna L.

Yelp
Excellent customer service, but the drinks are off. Fantasia has the best classic milk tea ever created. However, the classic milk tea over here is way off. The milk tea at Milpitas and Santa Clara is on point and hits the spot. You won't be able to tell the difference if you haven't visited their other locations. I almost threw it away, but I didn't want to waste six dollars. Never again.

Diana Y.

Yelp
I don't know who was working there today (8/12 dinnertime) but they were the nicest and most patient workers amidst a huge rush of orders!! I felt so bad I had so many questions but they never made me feel rushed or stupid, and not only answered them all but made sure I liked the drink that I got (which was delicious!*) *I got the Taro Milk with taro balls as a topping. There's no tea or caffeine in this but they use real taro, fresh milk, and their taro balls are the best cubic mochi like texture! Favorite taro balls / mochi boba topping in the bay While not all their drinks are to my taste, their standout options (imo taro milk tea, jasmine milk tea) and best in class toppings (fresh red bean, mung bean, TARO BALLS!!) + the service makes this a very appreciated establishment

Kelsey X.

Yelp
Drinks (5/5) I visit here when I can for the Okinawa Milk Tea. This is different from the Okinawa Muddy Milk Tea with Pearls which comes with Oreo and brown sugar, more like a brown sugar milk from The Alley. As a big fan of strong tea-tasting milk tea drinks, the Okinawa Milk Tea is my go-to. My other go-to here is the Hot Taro Milk Tea, which in my opinion is one of the best taro hot beverages in the area. Their brown sugar boba is delicious and chewy! They also have some desserts available in their display which I haven't tried. Price (5/5) Pretty affordable price considering the area. This place is one of the "OG" more affordable pmt spots, along with Tea Era. Don't expect this spot to be similar to YiFang or another newer boba spot. Wait Time (5/5) Generally no wait time. You may experience a 10min wait on weekends. Ambience (4/5) Not a picture-worthy spot, but there is a decent amount of seating inside (~five tables seating 2-4 each, and a long bar that can seat ~8) along with four tables outside. Service (5/5) No concerns. Parking/Access (5/5) Situated in the busy Cupertino Village, it's generally an easy process to find a parking space in one of the many parking areas/covered parking lot in the vicinity. It may be more difficult on weekends and around dinnertime.

Yelp
I haven't had Fantasia in 5+ years, and unfortunately, good reason not to... I'm a Happy Lemon die-hard but sister wanted to try a warm taro drink, and Happy Lemon doesn't offer that on the menu, so we decided to go to Fantasia. Surprisingly, there was a line so we had to wait a bit before ordering. We ordered a hot taro milk, passion fruit green tea, and a flan. They were having a discount on flan, buy 3 get one free...sister was considering it, but I told her you didn't even try it yet, and convinced her to only get one...and of course, there's a reason it is on a promotion. First off, hot taro milk (from sister's pov), was just warm milk. There was no flavor at all, so really a waste of $6.25. She also ate the flan, and she said the texture and flavor were not there. Onto my input on my passion fruit green tea. I've only had it taste this bad in another location in Hawaii. The tea has an absolutely terrible aftertaste. I'm not sure if it is the tea leaves or maybe it is roasted?...but it has an ashtray after taste that I experienced previously as well. It was undrinkable and I just tossed it after a sip. The taste was so bad and made me nauseous for the rest of the day. I used to enjoy going to Fantasia for their strawberry iced drinks...probably try those if you want, since their other drinks aren't very good. Hard pass for me at this location.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Fantasia Cupertino is in the Cupertino Village. This is a busy plaza, especially on the weekends and weeknights. There was no one in line when I came by on a weeknight, so the drinks came out rather quickly. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with boba. The milk tea was not cold at all, I had to ask for more ice, which the employee gave me in a side cup and I poured it in my drink myself. The drink has a slight bitterness and tasted a bit watered down, it could had been a bit more creamy. It also had this weird nutty sweetness aftertaste to it.

Kelly P.

Yelp
Love their customer service at this location. Plus, love that it's very spacious for studying days.

Lani M.

Yelp
I've been to Fantasia Coffee & Tea a few times now. I recently ordered the Muddy Okinawa Milk Tea with boba and have to say that it is my favorite drink I've tried there! I am personally a huge fan of brown/black sugar boba drinks, so this was the perfect choice. The tea had a great balance of sweet and creamy flavors, and the boba was also perfect in my opinion: not too chewy but not too soft. So good!! I went on a weekend afternoon/evening. At the time I went, they had just run out of boba and were making more. The server let us know and it was only about a 10 minute wait for the boba. It wasn't very crowded at the time. There were only two people ahead of us who had already ordered and were waiting for their drinks, so there was no line and we were able to order right away. The staff were very nice and friendly, and the atmosphere was really calm and relaxing. Note that this place is kind of on the expensive side, but I think it is really good. They also sell macarons, mochi, and other desserts! I haven't tried them yet but they always look so good, so I'll have to go back and try them sometime soon. I had a wonderful experience at Fantasia and would definitely return again. If you're looking for a delicious milk tea/boba drink, this is a great place to try!

Julienne P.

Yelp
We got cold grass jelly with pearls, flan, mung bean, and red bean. They didn't have taro balls or else we'd get that too. Everyone thought this dessert was very yummy because it wasn't too sweet. The brown sugar boba pearls were slightly warm and perfectly soft and chewy. I enjoyed it a lot and would come back to order this dessert. It does come out of be about $10-11 per cup.

Tiffani K.

Yelp
This is like the original of old school boba tea shop, they have been open like forever. Every time I'm in this Cupertino area, it's a must stop for me.

Helen C.

Yelp
I grew up coming to Fantasia, this location and the one on Santana Row. I used to swear up and down that this, the og boba store of South Bay, deserved its reputation, but now I'm not so sure. The quality at least the day I went had dropped to nearly be unrecognizable and the prices frustratingly mirror the higher end of boba prices at the moment without anything to back those numbers up. Oolong Milk Tea w/ Boba (2.5/5): The tea flavor was fine, but I was super disappointed by the texture of the boba. It was mushy and overcooked on the outside, while being simultaneously hard and undercooked in the center. My guess was that batch had cooked in too high a temperature.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Fantasia is the first boba I've ever had waaaay back when. They were probably one of the only boba places around and they've pretty much been consistent in taste for me since then. Their prices have gone up but their large is probably more on par with other places regular sizes. Plus they always have rewards via Five Stars. Fantasia's strawberry milk tea will always hold a spot in my heart!

Carmel T.

Yelp
Love the boba there! Really recommend to the people that enjoy fast service. The people there also really nice.

John D.

Yelp
Cozy little spot with friendly staff. But hold on... lemme talk about the bagel sandwich, not to be overlooked!! Simple but a delight. I dunno how they season the eggs, but wow!! So good

Emily W.

Yelp
I got a regular black milk tea with boba and it was pretty delicious. I feel like Fantasia has been pretty consistent throughout the years with good tea flavor and chewy boba. However I feel like the menu options are pretty limited and more variety would be nice!

Matt K.

Yelp
Very good service and the quality of the boba and tea. The guy knows a lot about product and suggest different options I have not considered before. I liked it.

Vee V.

Yelp
Ohh Fantasia, what happened to you? I used to LOVE Fantasia - their taro milk drink was my favorite boba drink and I'd get it every month. But recently, the quality of their drinks have done way way way downhill. My drink tasted nothing like it used to and they can't justify their expensive boba prices with these sub-par drinks. The boba wasn't great, the taro used to be in chunks but now it was some sort of liquid mash, and the drink tasted a bit watery.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Parking is easy to find. Noise level is average. I ordered the Lychee jasmine milk tea (5/5): super flavorful. Not too sweet yet no too bitter. I got 50% sweetness. The lychee pieces and honey boba added a really enjoyable texture. The drink was made super fast. Google/apple pay is accepted. Overall Fantasia is a good boba place and I would come back here.

Kathy Y.

Yelp
Ordered guava green tea w lychee jelly - didn't taste the guava flavor.... In either my full sugar tea, my friend's 25% sugar, nor her sister's guava milk version. The tea and lychee jelly were good otherwise... maybe guava flavor is just too light? Or their pours were too light? Either way, good tea and good lychee jelly... but I would recommend trying a different flavor! Restroom labeled for employee only... so hopefully you don't get the urge while you're there! Member of five stars rewards.

Lorenzo T.

Yelp
I've been coming to this location since I was in middle school, and it really brings the nostalgia of boba milk tea! Can't go wrong with their original milk tea and boba.

Brandon T.

Yelp
Location is still garbage. I just wanted to change the rating to one star. Flavors are basic. Never again

Sarah L.

Yelp
Came here to kill some time before dinner, and their passionfruit hibiscus tea hit the spot. It also wasn't too busy on a Saturday night so there was plenty of chairs/high tables for sitting, and outlets all along the way, too. If I lived closer, I might come here to study. Good drinks and good vibes!

Sana M.

Yelp
Food: Fantasia is one of my favorite spots for boba or a sweet treat. I ordered a matcha latte, which I enjoyed. I don't usually like matcha drinks, but this one had the perfect ratio of sweetness and tasted great. It was at a fairly decent price, too. I also ordered a chocolate macaron, which was pretty good. It was a little chewier than I'm used to. Service:. The employee who made my drink was efficient and kind. When I was unsure of what to order, she gave me advice on her preferred drinks, and was clearly very knowledgeable about the drink options. Ambiance: I visited on a Sunday afternoon, when it was fairly busy. The music and ambiance was pleasant, and I was able to get a couple hours of work done.

Sharon K.

Yelp
Since my last review, which was about 11 years ago. I decide to give this place a second shot. Since I felt my first review was a bit harsh. I ordered the standard jasmine green milk tea with boba. I have to say that my standards haven't changed. I live in SoCal, in the San Gabriel Valley where there is a boba store at every corner. There are so many choices! And if you run a boba store, you have to bring your A game! Anyway, I was still disappointed with the drink I received. The drink was still milky, and lack tea flavor. The boba wasn't fresh, taste like it was made when they opened in the morning. I would skip the boba. The drink taste better without. Besides that, the boba cost is at a premium here! Holy smokes! $6+tax for a drink!!? I guess if you live in Cupertino, you probably work at the tech industry and are used to paying these prices. The drink was okay, it's either this place or Ume in the same plaza.

Michael C.

Yelp
I haven't been to Fantasia in a long time, and decided to stop by today. I (and many of my friends) had always ranked it among my top boba shops in South Bay, so I was pretty disappointed with my Jasmine Mill Tea. The tea flavor was not very potent, and it tasted watered down. It wasn't overly milky or creamy, so it really felt like I was drinking flavored water, which is not very optimal. The pearls themselves were really average too; they were chewy, but tough, so it felt like the insides weren't cooked all the way through. Tenren around the corner is a much better option in my opinion!

Nancy H.

Yelp
You guys, I figuratively and literally cried. The staff was okay, but the drink...no no no. I ordered a Muddy Okinawa because it was plastered all over their store and I'm always down to try something new. The drink was $8 (compared to other places where it's usually $4-$6). I assumed the "Muddy" part was because of the Oreo bits or the brown sugar...but nope. It seems they have actually given me a cup of dirt mixed with milk. I was so shocked when I tried the drink - it was disgusting. Super bitter and had a grating texture. It was kind go like if someone had taken instant coffee and mixed it with water, not even bothering to blend it. I had never tasted anything so horrible. Sure, I have had unimpressive milk tea before, but this was just undrinkable. I know I'm starting to repeat myself, but that was actually how bad it was. I tried a couple more sips before tossing the whole drink. NASTY! I will not be coming back here. Save your money and go somewhere else...like anywhere else than this overpriced yucky mess.

Sydney J.

Yelp
I came here with friends on a weekend evening when there was no wait. I ordered a taro fresh milk, large, 50% sweet since I wanted something without caffeine. It was $7.76 (including tip) which I found to be a bit steep. It wasn't that sweet which is fine since I adjusted the sugar level, but it tasted mostly of the Straus milk and barely of taro. However, I do appreciate the friendliness of the workers who allowed me to use the bathroom although it was labeled "employees only". They're also on Fivestars reward program/phone app.

Nathan H.

Yelp
I got the coffee toffee crunch smoothie here last time. It was below average for me. Super boring. The coffee flavor was a bit bland. I'm not a fan of strong coffee flavor in drinks like this, but this was too light. The texture was terrible. Super melty and fluid-like. Boba was soft and chewy. Pretty good. Overall, it was whatever.

Melissa P.

Yelp
Have loved coming to Fantasia ever since my mom brought my as a little kid. Always very authentic with their flavors. Their frosted delight drinks always have the best thickness, my go-to is the red bean rubies with boba. They also have delicious desserts that come with cute little glass jars!

Audrey C.

Yelp
Visited Cupertino for a week this past winter break. My boyfriend told me it's the best milk tea boba place in NorCal - and it delivered! We ended up going literally twice a day for that entire week haha. Primarily ordered green milk tea, 75% sweet, light ice with boba. The hot drinks were also great, especially during 50° January weather. I tried both the hot jasmine milk tea and the oolong and personally preferred the oolong a bit more! The hot drinks come with a spoon if you order boba and are at a perfect temperature to start sipping immediately. Will definitely stop by whenever I'm back in town!

Xuan C.

Yelp
I'm so excited they extended their menu! It looks a lot like their Santana Row location. I've been coming to Fantasia since I was 12 years old. Back then they had their basic flavors. They also added macaroons (my favorite cookies), and mochi balls too.

Greg G.

Yelp
Stopped by Korean food and needed to grab boba (at any opportunity haha). So Fantasia worked out and even though it's been like years since I've been, it was nostalgic to stop by here again. I prefer fruit smoothies over milk tea at night just because I've become old and try to avoid caffeine so I don't empower insomnia later in the night heh. So lychee smoothie it was! Overall, super solid drink - maybe a little icy for me but would come again!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Went here a few days ago and my boba was underdone (it was hard) which made it difficult for me to enjoy my boba, seeing as it's an important component. Maybe they were just having an off day, would be willing to try this place out again since they are so popular.

Thomas T.

Yelp
Fantasia is a delightful sanctuary for boba enthusiasts. Their "Muddy Okinawa" is a must-try - a perfect blend of fragrant tea, creamy milk, and chewy boba pearls. The ambiance is inviting, and the staff's passion for crafting exceptional drinks shines through. Swift service and vegan options make this place truly special. Highly recommended for a blissful boba experience!

Carolyn D.

Yelp
First of all, I LOVE all of the decaf tea options on the menu. I'm very caffeine sensitive and I generally dont drink boba past noon so this is a huge game changer for me. I'll be exclusively coming here for my late night boba cravings! I'm also an avid believer of getting the least sugar % possible without sacrificing flavor and the sweet spot for me has been between 25-50%. The white peach green tea i got with 25% sweetness was a tad bit too bland. However the passionfruit green tea with 50% was too sweet (maybe because of the added lychee topping). Either way I think the drinks are still good and reasonably priced.

Jolina M.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend stopped by last night for some milk tea to go with our dinner. I didn't get her name, but the young lady that helped us out was very friendly and genuine. She's got excellent customer service that deserves recognition! 10/10 for the Mung Bean Milk Tea & Muddy Okinawa Black Tea

Sally K.

Yelp
Tasted like grass and had small lumps of powder :( Not your typical matcha latte taste. Iced oolong milk tea was okay.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I am a Fantasia die-hard fan! This is my absolute favorite place for boba in Cupertino and the south bay area. This place has my favorite drink of all time: lychee jasmine green milk tea. I would rate the drink a solid 10/10. I have been going to this boba place for over 5 years now, and it never fails to satisfy my boba craving. Their menu also has smoothies, fruit teas, and coffee drinks, as well as pastries, cakes, and cookies.

Emily L.

Yelp
this is one of my favorite places to get Thai milk tea because it is not too sweet but also not too strong of the Thai tea flavor there is always a line even though parking isn't too bad so I'm assuming it's very popular! The service is pretty kind you order at the register and pick up your drink when they call out your number so it's really straightforward. I think in terms of the brand/chain I've been coming for years but I had no idea that this location existed until I was in the area shopping at Ranch 99 and stumbled upon it. I will most definitely be back! :)

Maggie G.

Yelp
We ordered from them for quite a few times now. Quite a few tea ordered was not made correctly. Missing toppings or adding unwanted toppings. Due to the large number of teas we ordered each time, they were very accommodative. They delivered. However, their drinks are not completely sealed like many other places. They use plastic lids, which make transportation a little tough and not spilled proof. Drinks are okay, I've drink quite a few items, the Okinawa milk tea was not smooth, in fact, it was Anit bitter. Questionable on the quality of tea leaves used. 50% sweet is not more like 25% sweetness comparing to other places.
