Fantomas restaurant and bar in Chelsea

This was a sixth visit to the rapidly growing group of eateries owned by George Bukhov-Weinstein and Ilya Demichev. I have now come to expect beautiful interiors and Fantomas definitely lived up to this, with its earthy tones and fully exposed kitchen including a prime view of Chris Denney in action providing a very nice setting for our meal (note there is a second section of the restaurant which has no kitchen views). While clearly high end the atmosphere remained comfortable and casual on this wintry Saturday evening. As a family of 2 adults and 2 young kids we ordered the focaccia, chicken liver parfait, mutton salami, pear, scallop, lamb shoulder ragu, veal sweetbreads, John Dory, and 2 of the beef fillets. For dessert we tried the Gariguette strawberries, creme caramel and the chocolate bar. The food was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the chicken liver parfait, John Dory, the beef, and most of all the strawberries and creme caramel desserts, both of which we ordered a second portion of! (in fairness the portion sizes are on the smaller side across the menu). I also enjoyed a couple of their wines by the glass, most notably the 1999 Tokaji served with my dessert. Service was another strong point. We were very well looked after by the friendly staff and the food arrived at a speedy pace which is our preference. The bill for our family dinner came to a whopping £501, of which £120 was spent on drinks. Deceivingly high prices is the norm within this group of restaurants but today was the clear “winner” of the six venues we have tried to date! That said, they have somehow found a winning formula of ticking all the boxes across food, service and ambience, to the extent that I’m happy to keep returning. Even the little things like giving us tables with more than enough space or providing colouring pens for the kids (quite rare for restaurants at this price point) show the level of detail that has been put into enhancing the experience for their guests. I would certainly return to Fantomas, which is now in my top 3 of the group alongside Lita and Belvedere, but before that there’s still Pinna to try out and apparently there’s yet another new venue in the pipeline!

A throughly enjoyable evening at Fantomas. Loved the elegant but relaxed atmosphere, the menu isn’t too big (I see this as a good thing) and the cocktails and wine selection were excellent. Particularly enjoyed the beef tartare, chickpea farinata, and the iberico which was very tender and flavourful. It’s not a budget restaurant, it’s Chelsea, but I felt the experience was great. Must have the baba for dessert. Good option for a date or friends

Outstanding new place just opened in Chelsea. Should be your go-to if you are a wine lover. They have a unique selection. Try the Ratafia domaine Henri Giraud if you want to be amazed. The food is also out of this world. A melange of tastes from Europe and Asia.

Great atmosphere with a fun playlist to match. Tasty and innovative cocktails with an impressive wine list. Tuna belly was great but the sweetbreads were the star of the show. Chris, Paolo and the team are on to something special here ✨✨

Superb new opening in Chelsea, with top service, we let talented Head Somm Gergo guide us through a spectacular wine journey, a perfectly curated list showcasing the best of the New World wine regions together with some Old World classics + surprises, paired up with delicious European-Asian inspired dishes. Fantastic atmosphere, highly recommend, we can’t wait to go back!

Having dined at several of this group's impressive restaurants, I can confidently say that Fantomas holds its own and delivers a truly unforgettable experience. Each dish was a revelation, bursting with flavors and creativity! Their cuisine is undescribable, and I can only call it avant-garde. Loved it!

A newly renovated venue in the heart of Chelsea with a brilliantly curated menu. The food was world class with the beef tartare and crispy veal sweetbreads a particular favourite. Great service with friendly wait staff that brought out the plates in quick succession. It was a birthday celebration dinner and the glass of bubbles on the house was a wonderful touch. 10/10 would recommend.

Simply some heartfelt food burps @goodmore__ning A head-to-toe immersive dinner experience, from vision, stomach then down to your heart. Fantômas makes it all nibbles so could enjoy the splendid reach-out to Asia. Almost all are unavoidable startling, it just excite you more for the upcoming next. - Red pepper and Lardo lights up Sardine, smoothly addicted; and please add that chicken liver parfait for Focaccia, you’ll be asking if they can do a takeaway jar as I did. Having puntarella for wild seabass, can’t be more cleverly done, zero bitterness and even brings out the sweet aftertaste from ocean to grassland. Oh dessert! Cucumber & Sake slushy, unconvincing? Just have it! Refreshing, mind/tastebud-blowing, you name it, zinging innards. And the Crème caramel (on the house) would make you scream, yes, for men and women, we both scream! Moreover, the moonlike lanterns and candlelit light with open wood-fire kitchen simply sums the place for all your next memorable occasions.
