Olympian Mirai Nagasu’s Parents Own a Quiet Japanese Restaurant in SGV | Eater LA

"At Far East Plaza I found Isa Fabro’s small Chinatown After Dark stand where the star pastry chef is turning her attention to pies and other desserts, offering Filipino-inspired flavors and lots of smiles when ordering and picking up." - Farley Elliott

Lots of eateries, some parts are sheltered and air conditioned. Offices on 2nd level. Infrastructure not the best (leaking roof and air conditioners, lots of stairs, not wheelchair friendly). Has direct sheltered access to Telok Ayer mrt station.

This place is dominated by restaurants and pubs. It can get very busy and noisy at night. In contrast, it can be rather dead during the weekends, especially during the day. The pathways are mostly sheltered and flanked by shophouses, of which many look historical and are well preserved.

阿坤 Both the services and the product’s quality deteriorated a lot since a our last visit The signature toast is no longer served hot (barely warm!!). The ice memo was waterly and tasteless Very disappointing experience… probably our last visit Sad to see once a great brand goes down

Far East Square is a hidden gem in the middle of the city. The preserved shophouses, charming courtyards, and murals give it a nice blend of history and modern vibes. It's a great place to walk around, take photos, and grab a bite at one of the many cafes and restaurants. A peaceful spot to explore away from the busy streets.

Its the nearest parking if you want to go to ASAP & Co. The area has a lot of bars and eateries nearby.

Visited far east square on Saturday for lunch and loved the place for its vibes. It has lot of cafes and some interesting graffiti. The building architecture is largely restored with colourful windows.

This square is a Chinese themed heritage site in the middle of the modern skyscrapers of the city. Many restaurants, cafes, bars, and murals on walls

When this enclave opened 2 decades ago, a sheltered historic conservation houses for food and entertainment right next to the prime business area, it came with much fanfare and near a decade of great food and lunch crowds during the day, and some hot pubbing scene after office hours. A decade ago the place started to go downhill as trends, new watering hole places more popular and crowds moved on. Weekday lunch was bustling though. Weekends dead and quiet as offices closed and there were no events or activities to attract weekenders. Now comes 2020 pandemic. Even in phase 2 opening many are working from home. Pictures posted are of peak lunch hours. Thus after office would be worse. Buildings and historical house still well maintained and nice, the ambience chill and cool. But sad to see the businesses here will struggle to survive. Plenty of food choices from local Prawn Mee to Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Westerns gourmet and pub grub. How many will soon shutter before the Pandemic is over.
