Yelp
An honest review of a brewery I frequent more than any other bar or brewery, the good and the bad.
I found out about Farfield Beer Company about 2 years ago. I just happened to be driving by and noticed a small building tucked away next to some mechanics shops with a "beer" sign out front. A few days later I stopped in. The place was empty, maybe a few other people outside but definitely not packed. Which, to be honest, I liked. There are lots of brewery options in LA County and some of them are packed. Packed so badly you wait 15 minutes to get a mediocre beer. People are there for the name. They're there to take an Instagram picture next to their IPA that tastes no different than any other IPA.
Now, back to Farfield. The beer selection is top notch and the variety beats most of the breweries I've been to. They actually have variety here. It's honestly a brewery for everyone. IPA? Of course they have it. Sours? Yep! Lagers, pilsner, stouts and seltzers? Yes. How about a Schwarzbeir? Ja! They even have a Schwarzbeir. They even have a non alcoholic option that's made in house.
If you want to try award winning beers try Two Wheeler, a sour Ale which won gold at the Great American beer festival, Infrared, an American red ale that won gold at the 2024 World Beer cup and Sound of Space, a Cold IPA that won silver at the 2024 California Brewers Cup.
If you want my recommendations, Fools Gold, a golden milk stout. Strong notes of coffee, cinnamon and vanilla. It's sweet but doesn't drink like a dessert.
If you want more of a flavorful heavy hitter, come get Punchy Bunches before it's gone. Probably the most drinkable DDH Hazy IPAs I've ever had especially at 9.5%ABV. it tastes like fruit juice and it's fantastic! Really, there are no bad beer choices here.
They usually have a food truck outside or a food vendor most days of the week or you can bring your own food but honestly the food choices they've been having have been really good.
The place is a lot bigger than it looks. There's an upstairs, the ground floor inside and and two spaces outside along with games like corn hole and various board games.
And here's the bad. Parking. I think they have 5 or 6 spots outside IF the food truck isn't taking up a space. You can street park up front but it's limited by the city of Hawthorne on certain days. You can park on Hawthorne Blvd and walk about 2 blocks, which isn't that bad. Lots of free parking on Hawthorne Blvd. Or, you can be a responsible adult and Uber/Lyft when you go out drinking because the parking situation really isn't Fairfield's fault. It's just the space they have and they're making the best of it.
Farfield has become my "Cheers!" I see lots of regulars and have even seen servers come and go. Lots of changes have happened in the last two years and it's driving Farfield In the right direction. The crowd of patrons has grown and the place is still new. They're still in their adolescent years and I'm excited to see where they're headed. I hope to one day walk into a random bar and see Farfield on tap. The brewery is a hidden gem that's recognized by the beer community and locals. It's definitely a must try if you want a fresh new(ish) brewery with lots of variety and a welcoming staff.
