"Far Land is far more than a deli. It’s a local meeting spot that has some of the best people-watching in town via the porch’s rocking chairs. Try the breakfast and lunch sandwiches, which are named after the area’s landmark beaches. We like the Head Of The Meadow with brie, apple, and honey mustard or the Herring Cove that’s loaded with roast beef, garlic herb spread, and roasted red peppers. Mornings and lunch are the busiest and always filled with creatives from the Fine Arts Work Center around the corner. They’re either deep in thought over their next masterpiece or hung over from the night before, we can never tell. " - jennifer mattson

This is a lovely place in P town with a variety of sandwiches and pastries as well as some neat grocery items and alcohol. We had turkey cranberry and lobster sandwiches, both excellent. Off the hook bread pudding! It was our first visit and staff kindly explained the process of ordering and payment. We will be back!

Google
Yes! Another 5 star review. Good, healthy food. Update 5-30-24: Such a magnificent treasure in Ptown. Fabulous quality food. Fresh and delicious and clearly made with love. I can taste it. The staff, also, is a treasure. Really good people with generous spirits and great smiles. Thank you so much. As I'm heading back to NYC today on Amtrak, I have one of your delicious cobb salads to keep me company! So great! Wonderful baked goods. Tasty prepared food you can take to the beach for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We even picked up a nice chilled bottle of chardonnay, plus grilled salmon, goat cheese, and rosemary crackers to take to Herring Cove fir a spectacular sunset experience! 💖 PS- The staff members are very friendly and welcoming. Makes me want to come back! 😉

Google
I recently used Far Land for both my wedding cake and then separately to cater a sunset cruise for 25. Both were amazing experiences. Tom from Far Land was so helpful. Strong recommendation if you are looking to do catering for a party on beach, boat or anywhere

Lovely, very friendly, gluten free options available. Nothing is too much trouble, and, probably the best rest rooms of any sandwich shop ever! 😉

Google
I eat here often when in town. Food is quite simply excellent. Great sandwiches and salads. Fresh and wholesome ingredients, LOTS of choices and FAST! 10 out of 10.

Google
This place is AMAZING!! So many fresh baked goods to choose from and top quality ingredients used. They also have a variety of foods. I could eat here every day and going to miss it. Our favorite was the scones.

Lilly Tong

Google
The bread pudding is amazing!! The staff is so kind and offered to heat it up for me - it tastes way better after being heated up. Highly recommend!

Edit 12/23: Far Land Provisions still never refunded the money they promised for the mistake that they made. I doubt I'll ever get it back at this point. Edit 9/13/23: This grilled cheese cost $12.50 and wasn't even grilled, I got cold bread with a slice of cheese. They charge extra per each slice of bacon but use super tiny, precooked frozen bacon from a bag. I was apparently charged incorrectly as they say in their response, they said they would refund my order but this was a lie, I never received a refund in any amount. The customer service here is really bad, the quality of food is terrible, and the pricing is outrageous.

Yelp
I have been coming to Ptown for the last few years and so sad that I just am now coming across this place. We stopped in for breakfast before leaving on our latest trip and know I will be a repeat customer. Great breakfast sandwiches (get on the Portuguese bread!) and solid iced coffee in a relaxing setting. Even got to sit on the front porch to enjoy the food. Ordering is a little confusing but just ask around and you will figure it out. A new favorite spot for us in town.

Yelp
Came here after whale watching. We were about at sea for 3 hours and didn't want to eat on board to avoid getting seasick. I had a feeling this was a great place to go after researching places to eat on Google and Yelp. While checking out a blog, I saw this was THE recommended lunch spot. I couldn't pass up the opportunity-- I HAD to try it. I got the salmon special on a ciabatta roll (coming from NYC/NJ I'm very picky about bagels but the waitress said mostly everyone orders the salmon special on bagels). My partner got the Marconi which is Far Land's Italian sandwich (sub? Hoagie? Not sure what you all call them up here...sandwich lol) The Marconi was fresh, stuffed with lots of cold cuts and cheese. The banana peppers gave a nice acidic flavor and complemented the sandwich. The salmon special? Out of this world, EVEN on a ciabatta roll. Loved the flavors of the tomatoes and capers working well with the cream cheese and smoked salmon. The ciabatta was also toasted which meted the cream cheese. YUM. I only wish I asked for cucumbers (and I'm not sure if they even have any? But I think it would've helped add a nice clean green crunch in there. There's also gifts you can buy here at the market place: candies, candles, chips, and kitchen glasses. You also have the option of buying snacks and desserts like cupcakes and Whoopie pie, as well as soup of the day. Highly recommended this place if you're in Provincetown!! I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Great coffee, pastries and sandwiches and a friendly staff make this spot a Provincetown gem. We stopped in for a delicious scone, a very well-made pastrami sandwich and fresh coffee on a rainy day in Ptown. Then returned for breakfast sandwiches on our way out of town. Love this place!!

Alice W.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast sandwich! They're happy to make it however you want, so feel free to request different combinations of ingredients. Excellent meatloaf sandwich as well. Cute, high end little market.

Crystal G.

Yelp
We stopped in after our morning whale-watching cruise to get a picnic lunch to take to Herring Cove Beach. We ordered the Pilgrim Lake, Marconi, and Caprese sandwiches from the counter. All were delicious...their sub rolls are amazing! We added a yummy chickpea salad, fruit, chocolate chip cookie, and drinks to round out our picnic. Everything was delicious! Note: You order sandwiches at the sandwich counter and pick them up under the menu sign. Shop for what else you want while your sandwiches are being made. Take everything to the checkout register and order your bakery items from the cashier.

Cindy C.

Yelp
Have been going to this place for about 10 years when we visit Ptown and still love it! Best place to get a quality, fresh and healthy lunch or to go side salad, etc. Great baked goods for dessert, as well as a nice selection of drinks, including beer and bottles of wine. Plus it's adorable!

Allie K.

Yelp
A great place to stop in for sandwiches! They have a large variety, from deli meats to lobster, and everything is delicious. They also have gluten free bread. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Michael M.

Yelp
The wife and I went in to FLP today after a long drive down from New Hampshire and a long day on the Cape Cod National Seashore! This place was a great little stop before a long drive home. The staff was very friendly, the place had a few locals milling about and sitting on the porch gossiping. It was nice! A nice selection of beer, wine, chips, sodas, pastries, canned fruit! It was a nice little niche mercantile. We ordered two sammies: chicken salad on ciabatta, and a Herring Cove, which was roast beef, garlic cream cheese on ciabatta. I forget if it came with the roasted red peppers or not but I added them, also red onion. The roast beef (the meat itself...) was sorta bland, the cream cheese ("garlic herb spread") was good on it. The roasted red bell pepper was a nice touch but the sammy as a whole lacked pizzazz. I was missing salt, and crunch! It was a pretty small portion so by the time I realized I wanted salt I had one bite left. Chicken salad was also very bland. Really nothing more to say here it was very plain and lacked seasoning altogether. Throw some pesto or aioli on that bad boy for a much needed kick! Crunchy spinach a nice add.

Nathalia T.

Yelp
Incredible sandwiches, service, and price. We bought a couple of their sandwiches before going on boat trips, beaches and other little adventures. Everything was great. Reasonable prices and the sandwiches will make you FULL! A great spot to check out. They also sell breakfast sandwiches!!

Mercedes C.

Yelp
We cut our late morning Causeway walk short due to rain and stopping here was a good segue into lunch to pick up and have in our hotel lounge area. Didn't want to eat anything too heavy and since these folks specialize in sandwiches, sandwiches it was. So we jumped for joy when we came across Far Land Provisions on Bradford St and open for the holiday season. Think of Far Land as a 'country market store' with the old fashioned scale (as a prop), butcher block tables, wood flooring and the entire feel of it all. The store stocks some wine, has water, potato chips, their store-made pastries, croissants and among other things. Maybe because of the holidays and the off-season, they don't bake their own ciabatta. Waiting is minimal and you receive a buzzer to pick up your sandwich. My 'Smoked Salmon Special' on a toasted Everything Bagel, sliver of cream cheese, sliced onions+ tomatoes was delicious so was my Chocolate Milk and hubs loved his panini-style roast turkey Reuben. While a major cluster of lunch eateries in Ptown are closed for the holidays, Far Land is a real gem that comes out winning for quality and timing and was the perfect place for sandwiches and other things.

Yelp
An essential stop while you're in P-Town! Far Land Provisions has all you need for a light lunch or picnic on the Cape. With meats and cheeses fresh from the deli, you can order one of their signature sandwiches or build your own. I'm usually a "make it myself" kind of gal, but the Apple, Brie, and Dijon combination on the Head of The Meadow was top notch. Hands down one of my favorite meals in Provincetown. Don't leave without trying the house-made cranberry chutney! If you're feeling a different condiment on your sandwich, Far Land Provisions sells jars of chutney to take home with you. Hot tip: Once you've grabbed your provisions, drive just a mile up the road to Beech Forest Trail for a picnic with an incredible view.

Jonathan T.

Yelp
We stopped in for a breakfast sandwich and found many unique and fabulous noms! Breakfast sandwiches were great and ended up taking subs deli items with us for riding the dunes later. Great selection of everything...seriously!

Laura A.

Yelp
Provincetown's best kept secret. FL is our go to stop when we visit for breakfast sandwiches. We've been coming here for years and years. Our last week long trip, we went three times. We order our sandwiches, grab ice coffees and park ourselves on the rocking chairs out front to watch people passing by. It's never crowded and always welcoming. It has an old, general store feel and we just love it.

Lila S.

Yelp
Nice sandwiches. All Boars head provisions. The only other shop like this one in Ptown where you can get market items as well as the sandwiches and some alcohol is the East end Market. Far Land seems to handle the traffic flow of larger summer crowds a little better. Indoor seating for a quick bite. Unless its empty its not a comfortable experience - especially with kids as it can be cramped. If you are frequenting Far Land with a long vacation or work/live in town you must get the frequent flyer cards for both coffee and sandwiches. You'll find yourself racking them up quick and ant the end of a trip a free sandwich or two wouldn't hurt! Prices here will be better than East End or Angel foods but variety lacks in the market and fresh produce areas. The big draw for me here is the bakery. Their items are the same you'd notice at any other just a little original twist to them. Its refreshing when you are in the mood for treating yourself to baked carbs and sugar .. yum. The online order system is worth honorable mention especially if you have a rental or AirbnB in Ptown or Truro... You can order EVERYTHING in the store not just sandwiches and coffee- Need a pack of marshmallows? Got it. Out of Q tips? Got it. Making your own dry rub for BBQ - Got all the dry spices for it! I like to build my own sandwich and make a turkey bacon with (for whatever reason I wont be able to explain) I enjoy swapping the mayo with Caesar dressing. Try it and enjoy ~!

Sandra P.

Yelp
Great for brekkie and lunch. Food was yummy and fresh. They are really well stocked with everything you need and things you never knew you wanted! Staff was also very welcoming and efficient.

Jane B.

Yelp
Far Land Provisions is a venerable Provincetown institution for fast and tasty "grab and go" foods (sandwiches, salads), sodas/beverages, beer & wine and "what not" quick pick items. They have tables inside for eating your food on-site. Their covered front patio has about 5-6 rockers with small tables. There you can sip and savor your favorite beverage while you oversee the endless flow of tourists blowing in and out of town.

R K.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! Delicious sandwiches, cold salads and baked goods. The staff are super friendly and helpful and welcoming. A must visit if you are in Provincetown!!!

Fawn C.

Yelp
Far Land Provisions is a wonderful kind of general market. I found myself there 3 times during my long weekend visit in Ptown. It was super convenient for breakfast, lunch, and for picking up some needed wine one night. They offer delicious breakfast pastries such as cinnamon rolls, banana bread, butter croissants, ham and cheese croissants, chocolate croissants, raspberry cheese croissants, blueberry muffins, and blueberry scones. My friend has talked about Far Lands cinnamon rolls for years, so I had to pick up one of those. And while ordering I could not resist having them throw a raspberry cheese croissant in the bag too. I found my breakfast pastries to be perfect. It was enough to share. I personally loved the raspberry cheese croissant. For lunch another day I ordered a BLT on wheat bread and I was in heaven. The bread was the perfect softness with a hearty crust. The mayo was not too heavy but was just smooth enough. The bacon was thick and was done well enough to have some crunch when you bite. The lettuce and tomato were so fresh. The flavors played off each other so well and danced in my mouth. It made me so happy! I have thought about how delectable that sandwich was since. I plan on making a BLT this weekend just trying to imitate it, which I'm certain I will fall far short. Our third visit was to pick up some wine to enjoy back at our place. They have a wide selection for a corner store. They also have snacks to go with the wine. So we grabbed some of those too. I highly suggest stopping by Far Land Provisions for any food or drink (to go) needs. It was our go to throughout our trip and everything was perfect.

Jody W.

Yelp
Great deli with tons of choices. We shared the brie, apple and honey mustard sandwich on ciabatta bread. It was prepared quickly and the staff was very pleasant. Breakfast sandwiches are served until 11:30am. They also sell wine, some hard liquor, beers, soft drinks, chips and other snacks...all the necessities. Baked goods looked delicious, too. There's a decent sized seating area to enjoy the meal onsite. Parking can be tricky when it's busy. Had a couple of not so friendly people think I was trying to steal their spot when I was simply driving by a couple of months ago....people get territorial here for a reason, I guess.

Dory S.

Yelp
What happened Far Land Provisions? This used to be THE sandwich place and country store. Breakfast sandwiches are ok, BUT the lunch sandwiches are served on stale bread (this happened TWICE) with very little between the crumbling ciabatta. No horseradish sauce to speak of on the - minimal - roast beef sandwich and one very thin slice of Swiss. And the store itself was dirty. Yuck.

Rhea B.

Yelp
Friendly, nice offerings, cozy spot. Winter in Ptown can be quiet, but Far Land is an oasis to meet and greet friends.

Mark E.

Yelp
We got sandwiches at Far Land twice and were not disappointed. The food was good, service fast, and the place has a cool vibe.

Sandy R.

Yelp
Breakfast lunch snacks and everything else was so good!!! Peanut butter cookies are to die for!!!

Nathaniel F.

Yelp
Excellent location and a large variety of deli food and delicious sandwiches plus liquor and beer at the store

Corinthia K.

Yelp
What a lovely spot for breakfast sandwiches! We got them to go but they do have some tables and really sweet rocking chairs out front. They were super friendly and flexible with what I wanted on the sandwich. I hope to come back for lunch sometime soon!

Kit S.

Yelp
In the summer months we love going to far land provisions for a quick and tasty cheese sandwich or delicious breakfast sandwich. We love the bagels for the breakfast sandwiches and the desserts are always yummy (cupcakes, mini pies, brownies, and croissants). The staff who takes our order and makes the sandwiches are very nice and efficient.

Michael D.

Yelp
I have been visiting this market store on vacation for 20 years (fleeing the often bad, overpriced tourist food on Commercial Street). I can't believe how consistently good Far Lands Provisions has been though all that time. That takes dedication and a vision and you can tell this place has both. Get a chicken sandwich with red onion, tomatoes et al to take along to the beach. You'll be so fortified - and the food is delicious. I stopped in again this June 2021 for a BLT and it was so good, so perfectly made, that I think it was the best one I've ever had. May they prosper.

Marianne M.

Yelp
One of the best places that you will ever go to for fresh deli sandwiches on a variety of delicious breads. And the desserts are great. The staff could not be more accommodating.

Ann D.

Yelp
Came here for an organic coffee and grabbed a sandwich to-go for my boyfriend - he loved it so much and was bummed he didn't try a second from their extensive sandwich menu. He ordered the pilgrim lake, which was turkey, cheddar, cranberry chutney and mayo on ciabatta. Seems simple, but with fresh bread and high quality ingredients it was better than expected. I ended up going back later to get myself some marinated flank steak and broccolini from their prepared foods section, as well as a bag of organic coffee to go. We ordered once from their walk-up window and once from their online system. Thankful for their small free parking lot on both visits!

Phil W.

Yelp
Helpful and cheerful staff, ridiculously delicious food, and typical deli counter pricing that doesn't break the bank. Very limited seating outside, but really enjoyed sitting on the shaded porch and eating our sandwiches in some comfy rocking chairs.

Karen M.

Yelp
Delicious fare but not inexpensive - just be a little wary.I had a lobster sandwich that was absolutely spectacular.

August W.

Yelp
Got a few sandwiches after walking down commercial street, the pilgrim and ballston were both very impressive. Great place to stop in for lunch or breakfast.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Had a miscommunication of understanding that was remedied through a coming of understanding with Jim, one of the owners. The food is always great as is the service.

Roger C.

Yelp
Far Land never disappoints. Their sandwiches are really good and perfect for packing up a lunch for the beach.

Ann P.

Yelp
We had lunch at the Herring Cove location. The menu was inspiring, the lackluster counter clerk revealed what was to come; uninspiring.... I ordered the fish sandwich. My daughter ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The brioche breads were both toasted nicely. The rest was, meh. Her pulled pork was grey in color and lacked flavor. She ate half. My fish sandwich has about 4 ounces of flavorless cornmeal crusted fish. A commercial tarter sauce helped me the bite a bit tastier. The setting is magical and the place is clean as a whistle. Cash only, no ATM.

Mo-gan H.

Yelp
I had a problem with the online ordering. The cashier was AMAZING! He had it resolved so quickly and was so friendly. He made the experience great and does a great job behind the counter. It's so nice that even though times are tough to walk in and have someone be so nice and friendly. Made my morning! Thanks Farland!!!

Devon D.

Yelp
I love this market. We have come here when we need to pick up a couple things or if we want a delicious breakfast/lunch that is made to order. I love their breakfast sandwiches as well as their lunch sandwiches. We recently did a small catering order through them for a family event and it was outstanding! The clam chowder was delicious and they worked with us to have a really nice variety of sandwich options ranging from mini lobster rolls to vegan options. We all said that the next family event will have food from Far Land Provisions!

Roger D.

Yelp
Best place for sandwiches in town. Nice selection of unusual soda and other goodies to go with them. Order and take them to the beach in one of those golf carts that are rented next door. It was a blast.

Kacia S.

Yelp
Delicious food and very quick service We loved our yummy sandwiches and the chocolate Croissant

David N.

Yelp
One of the better delis I have visited. Fresh ingredients, friendly service and rustic vibes

Terence C.

Yelp
I like the food at the Far Land concession at Herring Cove beach and was hoping for the same here but for some reason the lobster roll at the Far Land store is completely different in a bad way. The roll came on a burnt and dry hamburger bun. I think it was supposed to be brioche but it tastes like sawdust. And the lobster was stringy and unappetizing. The lobster salad needed more mayonnaise to add more moisture to make up for what was a very dry sandwich. Also every time I've gotten a lobster roll it's always come with a little side of coleslaw or chips or SOMETHING. This one came with nothing and was more expensive than some of the other rolls in town. Added one star for the good brownie I got and the well stocked store. Otherwise, the lobster roll is the worst I've ever had.

Rich S.

Yelp
What a charming, quaint little grocer. They have labels sandwiches, hot and cold, great soup and pastry. And yes, they have great coffee, and grocery supplies such as, milk, eggs, some fruit and vegetables plus dry goods. A real plus for vacationers staying in in the area.

Richard B.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a couple of breakfast sandwiches (they were delicious!) and was so impressed with the variety and quality of items the store offers - we're vacationing here in Provincetown for the next few weeks and will definitely be back for more - and the staff was so friendly and warm - treated us like we favorite regulars on our first trip in. A very happy find on our 2nd day here

Amy S.

Yelp
Amazing fresh food, delicious sandwiches. Place gets very crowded during breakfast but is worth the wait!

Mike D.

Yelp
the sandwiches have definitely suffered this summer (2022). used to be great, but now it seems they are really economizing. this is third sandwich that was lacking, sadly. I'll try again next season, but not indefinitely

Jessica R.

Yelp
Just wow! While in town for the filming of American Horror Story I had the pleasure of working with Tom, his partner Jim and their wonderful chefs Kathy and Brian. I'm always looking for something warm and delicious for our crew to keep them going on long cold days. The chefs prepared us Chicken Carbonara, a vegetarian Carbonara and an assorted platter of desserts I could've eaten 4 servings of the pasta alone (thank you chefs!) but like Tom said, the fudge brownies are a crowd pleaser!! I definitely recommend Far Land Provisions for your large gathering. It's hard to feed a crew of 200 and they made it easy with great communication and flexibility. We liked them so much we bought the brownies again for our last day of shooting Thank you Far Land and Provincetown for your hospitality!

Betsy L.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches and fast service. This place has a great setup for ordering. I had the Ballston on whole grain with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. Husband got the High Head and said it was yummy too. Fantastic place to get your lunch!

Tralfamadore P.

Yelp
Paid $20 for their famous lobster on a brioche roll, only to open it up at home and find a burnt bun. The roll itself was very generous with the lobster, but the low quality control was upsetting.

Sarah J.

Yelp
I quite enjoyed the pilgrim lake sandwich and was impressed by its hefty size, the soft multigrain bread, and the fresh cranberry spread. They made it quickly and for around $9 the price is quite fair, especially for the quality of ingredients. This fits the bill for a fast and fresh lunch!

Kim G.

Yelp
Amazing food and super friendly service both by phone and in person. The sandwiches are sooo good and fresh! But when my cooktop broke, I became addicted to their packaged heat up meals which are $12-$15. (Love the Breville.) The chicken piccata was served with a tangy caper sauce, pasta, and grilled broccolini. The cheese manicotti were super light and creamy, not dense. The Korean steak tips were nice and meaty. The roasted pork with potatoes was just the right balance of flavors with lots of black pepper. My poor cooktop has been out of commission because getting an electrician in Truro/PTown before the start of the high season is nearly impossible. Far Land saved the day. Seriously, it is as good as or better than some of the sit down places in town.
