Not a beer drinker or pretty any alcoholic beverage other than wussy drinks (pina colada, daquiris, et al). In my college years, wine coolers were my preference. Then, rum and Coke. Then, the 'party years', kamikaze's, screwdrivers, and Long Island iced teas.
Then I grew up... got a job, had responsibilities... oops, too much information.
So, in shopping at the Ferry Farmers Market in September, there were a number of new businesses who joined the fray on the south driveway.
In seeing some apples (early in the season), I also happened to notice this business had a table to the side of Sur La Table. What caught my eye? Californian cider with pink guava (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=5Vr7kHMZlkGiS3KM6TkBGg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). If you know me when it comes to fruits and drinks, I'm down for anything related to guava. I put it in my fridge until my schedule was such that a. I could afford to be hungover the next morning if I downed this thing and b. it was a warm enough evening to warrant have a nice cold one. I had it as a post Saturday dinner beverage and it was slightly sweet with a bit of a tang to the aftertaste. I am certainly no connoisseur when it comes to wines and spirits but I was feeling a little mellow after about 2/3rds of the can.
Early in the season, I also bought some apples from them which were crunchy and delicious (early fujis). Stop by if you are a beer or cider person. Maybe you'll find something that leaves you a little mellow afterwards...
