A community‑run museum where many aircraft actually fly, with youth camps, veteran programs, and seasonal events. Recommended by Midwest Living and North Dakota Tourism; a short hop from the Fargodome.

The Fargo Air Museum is a small but impressive spot for anyone interested in aviation or history. During our visit, a team was actively working on a plane in the hangar, which gave it a cool, behind-the-scenes vibe. The exhibits include a mix of historic aircraft, military memorabilia, and educational displays. It also hosts events and is home to one of the largest aviation libraries in the region. Quick visit, but definitely worth it if you’re in the area.

Nice little museum. Hanger 2 is not air conditioned as stated. Good assortment of planes and memorabilia with nice descriptions. Good for a quick history lesson.

Planes, books about planes, toy planes, and paintings of planes, this place has it all. If you’re interested in planes you will really enjoy coming here. There’s even that plane from the Pixar movie Planes. There’s a cool drone that looks like the one from the scene in Interstellar. Go there and see planes! :)

A Sunday visit and not crowded. Not just planes but also photos, stories, engines, etc. A real cockpit that you can get in and see what it was like for our brave airmen. Most of the exhibit is inside so weather isn't a problem... friendly staff, 10 bucks for adults. Definitely go if in the area.

The Fargo Air Museum is a great stop for aviation fans. Nice collection of aircraft, books, and scale models—plenty to see and enjoy. It’s a fun and informative visit for all ages. Only downside: the toys in the gift shop are a bit pricey.

Very nice, has very nice easy activities for kids, they will learn how to make airplanes from papers, also how to drive an airplane with the simulator and they have a very good library to read books about airplanes

Google
Great small museum, it is 2 large hangars worth, so they could fit more. It’s has a very cool collection of aircraft, and a Predator drone too. A little expensive, but worth it while in town. Took me about 45 min to look around.

Great experience for the air history buffs out there. Fun play area for the kids as well while the adults are taking everything in.

Yelp
A smaller air museum with a handful of planes through they are well cared for and on display. There are some interesting aircraft for any aviation buff including an MQ-1 Predator drone, a 1981 L-39 Albatross trainer, a Cessna L-19 Bird Dog, a Grumman TBF Avenger (with folded wings!), and more. They are spread across two large hangars and I happened to catch a kids outing with several children under the care of one of the volunteers. The museum also includes a large display of memorabilia and mementoes and newspaper cutouts of Fargo history and the service of those from the area. A small gift shop completes the museum. Tip: Check the local sports schedule. When the Fargodome is in use, they're selling parking in the lot here. You'll be on the street a block or four away. Yelp
The Fargo Air Museum is located at Hector International Airport on the north side of the city of Fargo. The facility is modest in size, but don't let that discourage you. You'll find some remarkable aircraft - P51 Mustang, B25 Bomber, Vultee BT-13 advanced trainer, Fairchild Pt-23, Piper Cub, Grumman TBM, Douglas DC-3 - and you'll be able to look them over closely. Admission prices are reasonable and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. If you enjoy aviation, the Fargo Air Museum is a worthwhile destination!

Yelp
I visited this museum yesterday with my dad, an elderly veteran (paratrooper), and we both really enjoyed it. The aircraft are in excellent condition, great restoration jobs coupled with the planes on exhibit in two indoor hangars (except for the B-25). The Corsair, Mustang, and TBF from WWII are in particularly good shape. I always appreciate seeing an F-4, and a Predator drone was also on display, along with trainer aircraft, a Huey chassis, a DC-3/C-47, various engines. The information in the displays was excellent, and there was an extensive library. Simulators available, although we didn't try them. Accessibility was generally good, everything on the ground floor except for the library. Clean, well-lit. I go to a lot of air museums and this one is excellent!

Yelp
A somewhat enjoyable museum if you're an adult. I think kids would find it boring. I did see a large group of children during my visit. I don't know what is here they'd enjoy? The museum is in two parts. The first has the bigger airplanes. This was fun to see and read about. Then you briefly walk outside into another building. Smaller airplanes and some interesting history to read with the displays. What I don't like is too many planes are in here. Not easy to move around. I'd like to see a gift shop added. One you can walk into. You buy souvenirs when you enter the museum. There isn't much to select from. Kind of a joke in my opinion. Coming here wasn't a total waste of time. But I think they could do a better job.

Yelp
Decided to check this museum out while on a short trip to Fargo. It's conveniently located near the airport across from the Fargodome. There's lots of parking available. We had a large family group and were offered a tour guide to show us around if we wanted. It was nice that they offered that. We decided to just check out the planes on our own and there are a lot of great exhibits there. Planes, helicopters, military motorcycles, and even a replica Wright Brothers plane. Too cool. There's a lot of things to do. Kids did a scavenger hunt for a prize, and there's even a cool dog tag machine if you want to make one. There's a gift shop in the main building with some souvenirs for sale. On the second floor is a library with lots of aviation related material. An adjacent building holds more planes and exhibits. We got an up close look at a restored P51 and had a nice conversation with the pilot. My dad, a retired airplane mechanic had a great time there. It brought back a lot of memories for him especially the DC3 in the main building. Overall an awesome stop if you're in Fargo. Special thanks to Lisa and Cliff for making our trip a memorable one.

Yelp
Storing several vintage aircraft from the very early days of flight to the WWI/WWII/Vietnam war eras, this museum is slowly expanding. Located in effectively a large hanger, you can look outside at some of the bigger craft including a bomber. This location is also for rent if you want to do large events. With space for catering, bathrooms, and plenty of room to scatter tables, we had a Hawaiian-themed party here for about 160 of us... fun! They managed to accommodate the people, a projector, music, tables of food, and were kind enough to keep it open longer than we expected, plus very good with cleanup after all of us and our mess, all without being too expensive.

Yelp
Desk clerk was not at all helpful with any questions related to the museum. It was totally self guided. 2 smaller hangers and a handful of planes. It was okay. Probably a better expirence if you had children along or someone who was helpful at explaining things.

Yelp
One medium/small hangar and literally half a dozen aircraft- this is the most pathetic excuse for an air museum I've ever seen. Absolutely not worth the price of admission. The cost/time of activity ratio is skewed way too far to the cost side of things- it's just not worth it unless there's a special event. You'll get more for your money if you go to a movie theater. Last summer they had a traveling "heritage flight" group come through with flying aircraft from WWII. That was kind of cool, but it was still only four or five additional planes that you could stand in long, slow moving lines to get inside and look around (some of them did flights you could pay to join, which was awesome). That doesn't make the Fargo "air museum" any good; it makes that traveling group of vintage planes good. I'm prior Air Force- I've seen planes, hangars and bases of all sizes in my travels. Minot is at least historically significant from the Strategic Air Command days. Fargo and aviation together are a joke.

Yelp
Hidden gem of an air museum in Fargo. Many exponential aircraft that still work and are just there on rotation. Two hangers full of planes from WWI to prevent. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about current planes. As an added bonus the museum is located on the airport. So after viewing the museum I would recommend going around the corner to the Fargo Airport viewing area to do some plane spotting.

Yelp
Had an extra day after a business trip and decided to check it out. This place is OK for a time killer, but if you traveled from Des Moines to come here, you'll be sorely disappointed. I've been to better air museums in the middle of a vineyard in Oregon (no kidding, it's awesome, check it out!). Only a couple WWII fighters, couple of biplanes, a test plane or two and a Huey. No Mustang. Oh, and a Cessna. Really, a Cessna? Outside there's an F4 and a DC3. One needs to be escorted to go outside where each plane was explained by a very knowledgeable dead-ringer for OpieTaylor. The highlight came as I was looking at the Corsair and I hear a little voice behind me say, "She's a real beauty, isn't she?" I turn around to see this little 10 year old with the best mullet north of Omaha.

Yelp
I am a professional event planner; planning my own wedding should be simple. Never in my career have I dealt with such incompetence than I have at the Fargo Air Museum. Do not waste your time, not worth the hassle.

Yelp
I am HIGHLY disappointed in the customer service we received from the coordinators at the Fargo Air Museum while hosting our company picnic there. The whole time we were preparing for the event, setting up and even during the event I felt as though we were an inconvenience to the staff (particularly Ruth). She was very rude to our guests and wasn't as polite as I would assume someone would be for the price we paid for the venue. Another gentleman who was helping with the event mentioned that without these parties (ex. wedding receptions, company bashes, etc...) the museum would not be able to stay open - with this knowledge, I believe they then should offer top notch customer service, whereas we did not receive an ounce of that. Ruth made several crass comments under her breath after the party, but loud enough for us to hear, even though we cleaned and picked the place up in a timely and efficient matter. I would not recommend this facility to anyone who's looking to host an event. They were awful to work with and would not wish the stress they gave us upon anyone!
