"This respected barbecue joint is worth the short drive to Bryan for pork ribs, brisket, smoked chicken, and house-made sides like mixed greens. Takeout orders can be placed in person or over the phone; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Brandon Watson

"Texas Monthly barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn is a big fan of this joint that serves top-notch brisket, ribs and sausage, so much so it landed on the magazine’s top 50 barbecue list again. Chicken is usually a bore, but here, it’s crisp-skinned and well worth ordering.Distance from Austin: approximately one hour and 50 minutes" - Nadia Chaudhury

First time in Bryan, Texas as an adult here to visit my dad's side of the Family and go to the Texas A&M game against Auburn. It was Friday around 5pm and we were starving and wanted the best BBQ. So went on Google, and they said this is the spot. I like that the spot is Black owned, so we were all excited to try it out. When we walked in, we were the only ones in there at 8 people. But soon after more people came so we definitely beat the rush. The ambiance is pretty chill, they have a tv but wasn't really loud at all. The Pit master Co-owner Alan welcomed us and was super nice. Asked where we were from, took our order, recommended dishes, and gave us our own mix of lemonade and sweet tea to start which was so good. We order the family special which feeds 5-7 people for $100 including 1lb pork ribs, 1lb sausage, 1lb brisket, a whole chicken chicken and two sides. We got the mac n cheese and greens. We thought we would probably want more food so we ordered extra mac and cheese, potato salad, 1lb brisket, and 1lb ribs. They also gave us an entire loaf of white bread. So my absolute faves were the greens, I wish I got more! They were sooo good! Then I liked the ribs, then the brisket. The sausage was a little too hard for me, I like more juicy. Mac was too mushy, potatoes ok, and chicken was dry to me, but my brother's piece looked juicy and he liked it so I think I just got a dry wing. All in all I would definitely come back and I highly recommend. We left with leftovers and had a great time eating this delicious food with the great staff. Thank you guys for welcoming us into your town, I will be back!

Crazy good BBQ joint in Brian Tx on business 6. A good ways down from College Station but worth the extra miles to find. I got the beef ribs which were out of this world. Wow! Wife got the chopped brisket sandwich at 9/10. She loved the sauce and extra onions and pickles. Baked beans and potato salad was also very good. Highly recommend the beef ribs.

I haven't even gotten my food yet, but am putting a good review already because Mr. Alan put the biggest smile on my face when I was ordering with how welcoming he was. Very direct, nice and it smells amazing in here. Will update on the food. THE FOOD - the brisket was juicy, tender and perfect. Their sausage, I'm a fan. Their greens are spicy and flavorful, just like I like them. The Cornbread was some of the best I've ever had, sweet and moist. I'm too full now to try their peach cobbler, but it smells amazing. Overall, happy with our meal. We will be back.

2018 visit -They earn their top 50 BBQ in Texas Monthly. Great brisket and ribs. Wednesday is the day to hit them up for their Beef ribs they are Awesome. 3/15/2019 - The new location is much more roomy inviting. The people are frendly and welcoming. For my enjoyment I got the chicken and brisket. The chicken has a succulent smoked flavor all the way to the bone; with a simple but perfect balance of salt and peper; each bite was perfect. The brisket was well done; the bark was light; the smoke flavor rang true; It was moist and flakey. Overall they are still worth the top 50 given them in texas monthly.

I came here specifically for the ribs they were out of beef rib so I had the pork ribs. As per other reviews it is true the meat does fall off the bone very easily on the non bone side the other which is meaty seems to be a little tougher. Great flavor great good pork ribs. Reminds me a little bit of Memphis style ribs. I also tried the brisket because I keep trying it everywhere I go in this great state of Texas. If you read any of my reviews before I'm trying to find the holy Grail of brisket. So far the winner still is after 30 to 40 barbecue joints, even all the brand names and one offs is still Pecan Lodge in Dallas Texas for me. The brisket here had a great taste, good Chard outside but just a little bit dry on the meat. I would definitely recommend this place and if I'm in the area again will deathly stop by and hopefully try the beef ribs. I have always been told when trying these barbecue places is to go before the lunch crowd not afterwards sometimes the meet Sits and gets dry I'm not saying that here, I was just believe it can happen. Tater salad was good.

Ive been to cjs and cooper's and this place blows them away! Actually, CJS was good but this place was awesome. Coopers was the worst place I've been to in a long time. This is the real texas bbq in the area! Today, I had the brisket sandwich and the sausage. It's more smoked than other places. Do if you like it on the smokey side then get it. But, they have the best beef ribs hands down in the area. Call before you go because it's sometimes it sells out by noon. It's rated as top 50 in Texas btw.

The best BBQ place in town. They are usually filled with people on weekends, so make sure you have time at hand when you come. Also one of the very few places that sells bbq chicken. The sausages are crunchy on the outside and juicy inside, my personal favorite here. Their bbq sauce is awesome too, perfect balance between tastes and sweetness.

This place of bbq was disgusting. If I could give it no stars i would. The Brisket was dry it had a weird after taste. The portion size of what I ordered was ridiculous, not worth the cost. And the owner is rude terrible place to go. Don't understand why people would give this place above one star. Cj bbq is way better.
