We’ve been coming to Farina for over 10 years (mostly the downtown location, sometimes this one). We have sworn by it as one of the best local restaurants. The reviews regarding new owners/quality of food decreasing substantially are true. We are so sad as we live up here closer to this location now, but we will definitely only be going to the Central one from now on.

Google
The chopped salad was good but this Margherita pizza is highly disappointing, where did the cheese go? I used to enjoy their gluten free pizza a lot but I think this pizza is the worst I have ever had. There was way too much sauce. The salad and pizza was close to $50. Not recommended.

Fun, energetic place with friendly, attentive servers and delicious food. We were told there was a long wait when we got there on Friday night. Lots of good restaurants are having trouble finding enough workers. We sat outside because some of us have hearing issues and it's noisy inside. The patio seating is good, but it faces Montgomery. There's a surrounding wall and unless you have a noisy motorcycle going by it's not too loud It has good cover overhead. It took a while to get our drinks served & a while to get our food but they were attentive and kept checking in and saying they knew we were waiting. The bolognese was flavorful, chunky & plentiful and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The chicken wings were spicy and delicious. The drinks were 🍸 fabulous. They have new owners & will be changing their name and updating their menu. Worth a look

My first time at Farina was amazing! Right from the start, our awesome server Feddy made us feel so welcome and gave us some spot-on recommendations that really took our meal to the next level. The fried artichoke was the real star of the night—crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. And that pesto dipping sauce? Wow, it was the perfect match. To wrap things up, my husband and I treated ourselves to some gelato. We went with pistachio and salted caramel, and both were out of this world. Seriously, each bite was a little slice of heaven. Farina, you've totally won us over! We can't wait to come back for more.

We have not been at the Farina Alto for some time. We visited your restaurant on Saturday,5. When we approached the front door one of your servers opened the door for us and guided us to where our friends were sitting. We enjoyed the complementary bread basket. The server was attentive to our needs and food was delivered in a timely manner. We enjoyed talking instead of shouting over the music. When we left another server opened the door so we can exit. All in all we enjoyed the changes you have made for customers to enjoy dinner with friends. We will certainly continue to take our friends to your restaurant

Google
The reviews about the new ownership made me nervous but I’ve eaten here several times since the changeover and each time was better and more consistent. The kitchen and the waitstaff are taking the transition in stride and coming out the other end wonderfully it seems! Some of the aesthetic changes are looking very good as well. Definitely a place to bring family and friends.

We went BEFORE the dinner rush. All our plates were delicious. Great service. Can’t wait to go back. Full bar and cute outdoor patio area with waterfall.

Yelp
Feddy was AMAZING!!!! Excellent service, great food. I highly recommend! Farina Alto never disappoints, but was especially good today.

Yelp
Recently dined here with 5 friends midweek around 4 pm. It was not busy at all. We ordered a myriad of appetizers and entrees and pizza. The artichoke hearts are wonderful. I enjoyed the verde salad and meatballs with marinara. THEIR BREAD IS OUT OF THIS WORLD ~ TOO DELICIOUS. The pizza were 'good'. Service was on-point. No issues, no complaints - just lots of smiles ;D

Yelp
I'm a regular who has liked this place for a long time. I've recently read some of the criticisms here and figured they were one-off experiences. I have now had my probably-not one-off experience at Farina Alta. Food: Well Beyond disappointing! Eggplant Parmigiana, a long time favorite of mine here, was both burned and then too long under a heat lamp. Ensalada Caprese, another favorite, two thin tomato slices, a few very small and halved cherry tomatoes, and two small basil leaves... the word to describe this plate: "pathetic"! two of the three pizzas, Funghi, and Margarita were were enjoyed. The third, Blanco w artichoke hearts, was a bust. Chicken Picatta was rated "acceptable". Service: The Absolute Worst! We were celebrating a birthday, noted in the reservation & acknowledged by the hostess, who was very welcoming! We were relatively close to the bar and taken care of by a female, who was apparently also working as a bartender. She was, at best, indifferent to us and our experience. We had to ask her multiple times for everything that we needed, including items that should have been brought to the table without asking, as well as a few things that were special request, i.e. some extra paper napkins. I actually had to leave the table to find someone to give us a pepper mill, and then again to get to-go boxes because, though they were requested, they were never brought. There was no follow up. "Is everything OK? Do you need anything?" We felt neglected through the entire meal. Then, as a birthday celebration, the restaurant has always offered a comp dessert with a candle. No acknowledgment & no offer of dessert to anyone. We ultimately had to pursue her to get the check for the table so we could leave. as I said, we felt neglected throughout the entire experience, we did not feel "abused" until we got our check and saw that, because we were a party of six, the gratuity was added to the bill. As my folks would say... This added insult to injury. Sad to say, that a favorite place, for us, has now gone by the wayside. Would never spend money here again. BTW... I decided to leave this review because when I called this morning to speak with the manager about our experience, no one answered the phone and the voicemail was full and could not accommodate a message. Curious... "Who's driving?"

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious, I had the Caprese salad and the penne ala vodka. The Caprese salad was fresh and the mozzarella had the perfect texture. Service was ok, pretty busy so he kept getting distracted with other tables-had to remind him to refill our drinks, give us utensils, salt & pepper. Ambiance is lovely, I like their layout it's clear and somewhat modern. Drink selection is great, old fashion is my go-to.

Yelp
We wanted to try something new...we get in a rut and frequent the same restaurants. We decided to go to Farina Alto since we hadn't been there in a few years. I don't remember the food being this good! Service was a little slow but it was worth the wait! We ordered a small spinach salad as our appetizer, the Capra di formaggio pizza and it was absolutely delicious! Mussels were a white wine red sauce with a little spicy and the end served with fresh grilled bread. The food is organic and fresh and made from scratch and your can tell! Exceptional quality and taste! It has a great ambiance, so if you're looking for a nice date night spot, try this spot! (Sorry for the half eaten pics, we were hungry and couldn't wait to eat)!

Yelp
Farina Alto has yummy food but I have changed my star rating because they have raised prices and the amount of food you get is not worth the price you pay. A large pizza is about $20 and is only 12 inches in diameter. Very tiny for a large size. We had 4 people and we barely got 1 and a half slice each. The small was about $12 but who knows how big the small would be...personal pan pizza size? I won't be coming back unless I am rich or if someone else is paying. Maybe I will win the lottery so I can afford this place!

Yelp
I took myself out to dinner on a Thursday evening and tried Farina. Since it was just me I sat at the bar. I loved the ambiance and the music the bar had playing put me in the mood for a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. It was delish and the service was excellent. I decided to order the risotto balls with marinara for an appetizer which was pretty good!! I also wanted a salad so I got a half Verde which is spring mix with Gorgonzola, candies walnuts, sweet apple, and a vinaigrette. I loved the salad! I can't wait to come back and try some more delicious food. Cheers!

Yelp
Their dough recipe is really off from their downtown location's counterpart. The crust has no chew and no char. It's a far cry from the "Chef's Table" pizza season. I don't know if it's something to do with the flour and yeast. Not getting a good rise.

Ryan H.

Yelp
Waited 15 minutes for barely warm soup that was very small (maybe half the size of a bowl of soup at Olive Garden) for $11, but I did get the pleasure of a massive bay leaf for me to dispose of. The straw for my beverage was served without a wrapper - so that was a waste. It took 40 minutes to get my pizza though there were only seven seated tables. The gluten free pizza was good. This restaurant used to be good; now it's just expensive and generic. It wants to be great but it needs to find its identity.

Rachel G.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious gluten free green chile chicken Italian style macaroni! The Limoncello Martini is also divine. Will definitely return for another meal. (Cleaned my plate and forgot to take a photo beforehand)

Yelp
We ate here in July on an early Thursday evening. Based on other reviews and the general reputation of Farina Alto. And for the most of part, they fulfilled them. First, the not-so-good. We never received any bread, either when we were first seated, or on any entrees. Ordinarily, not a huge deal but I see by reading the other reviews that we missed out. Maybe they were out? Also, the caprese salad I ordered for my dinner was drowning in olive oil and was missing even a hint of basalmic vinegar. That tang would have really brought out the freshness of the tomatoes and mozzarella. It had quality ingredients that were overshadowed by a good inch of olive oil and no vinegar. Now for the good: the pasta was fresh and my kid, husband, and father all enjoyed their pasta, calzone, and chicken Parmesan., respectively. Everything seemed freshly made and was on point from a flavor perspective. Service was great as well. Responsive yet not overwhelming. Just a pity about the couple of things that were out of sorts. We will definitely come back and hope to upgrade this review in the future.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Farina alto pizzeria, and it was an absolute delight from the moment I walked in. I was greeted with the warm and inviting atmosphere, that made me feel right at home. The decor was cute and the aroma of freshly baked pizza wafting through the air. I decided to order the personal pizza with pepperoni and garlic, and it was nothing short of delicious the pepperoni was perfectly crispy, and the garlic was included in large pieces, which made it perfect for garlic lovers like me. The pizza crust was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. In addition to the pizza, I ordered the Caesar salad, which was absolutely wonderful. The dressing was tangy and creamy, and the fresh lettuce was crisp and refreshing. The portion size was just right, and was a perfect complement to my pizza . The staff was friendly, and they made sure that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish in short, this place is a must visit for anyone looking for delicious pizza and welcoming atmosphere. It's definitely a new favorite of mine and I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu. Highly recommend. Oh and the bread they brought out to the table, so good, flaky and buttery. I'd go back just for that! LOL! Ample parking as well!

Yelp
Delicious food - apps, pizzas and pasta were all enjoyed. Service was perfect - responsive timely and not overbearing. We'll be back!

Yelp
We ordered drinks, apps, salad, pizza! Wow! Amie is the best server ever. Excellent experience and food.

Yelp
Farina Alto's food is exceptionally good. They are overpriced in my opinion, but I can't stop myself from coming back here to get their chopped salad and eggplant Parmesan. The ambiance is good for a date, family, or business meeting. Having a full bar is nice too! Service is always great. One thing I will mention is if you sit around the bar area while it's busy, you will have a hard time hearing the people at your table as it gets loud in the front corner.

Yelp
Food was great, but they do add.an automatic upcharge for the employee healthcare.. i still tipped normal amount but they were understaffed and i find management that does things like this are actually not doing favors for the employees...

Yelp
The food and drinks we ordered came out great! Throughout the the servers were attentive and fast. The inside of the restaurant was nice and modern. Great restaurant definitely coming back!

Dennis C.

Yelp
Placed order to pick up. Wasn't ready at promised time, extra 15 minutes. Got food home less than five minutes from restaurant, everything was cold.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Amie gave the best service I've ever had here! Food was great! Drink suggestions were amazing. Will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a quiet Saturday. Was told up front that service would be slow due to lack of staff. We accepted that and were promptly seated. Lack of staff? Didn't notice. They did great despite a crowded dining room with one very large party already seated. I was impressed. Staff were friendly and efficient. Was no more a wait than I would think was usual but appreciated the earning up front.

Yelp
Feddy was awesome and his service was perfect. Food was phenomenal. Like so much flavor and so perfect. Wish i lived in town, would come as much as possible.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot to get a gluten free pizza while I'm in Albuquerque! It's thin and if it's not over cooked (which can happen), it has a nice crunch on the outdid and a little softness as well. I like coming to this location because of the appetizers, it's rare to find a gluten free calamari and theirs is so good! When I'm in town, I usually have to stop by even for just that. The wings are pretty good as well. Service can be really hit or miss each time I come, it's usually pretty fast service for how busy they can get but sometimes we get our orders incorrectly. Last time, I asked for a build-my-own GF pizza with no cheese except goat cheese (they even came back to my table to clarify this), but the pizza I received had mozzarella and Parmesan. It was a little deceitful too because they put the layer of mozzarella under the sauce... I guess it really depends who you get! It's a plus if you can make it for their happy hour at the bar and can a discount on drinks! Their cocktails aren't really something to write home about but their on the higher end of what I can usually get in town. Their wines are also decently priced that it's worth it to get a bottle if your party doesn't want to do cocktails, especially if you sign up for their VIP program. If you don't finish it, they'll let you wrap it up to enjoy the rest at home. Overall, nice spot for some Italian fare or appetizers but make sure they get your order right if you have any dietary restrictions!

Yelp
Some of the best pizza! If you like thin crust and wood oven cooked pizza this is the place for you, oh and the crust is a bit chewy. The day we came in for lunch they were short staffed and had a few large parties and the hostess explained this to us and they may be a delay in service, we were fine with that. I have to say being short staffed I would not have know that because the hostess kicked in and helped the servers . She took our drink order and came by several times checking on us and after we placed our order the hostess actually delivered out lunch. Now that's team work! I wish I could remember her name so I could give her the credit she deserves. I will definitely be back and recommend you check it out and I think you will be very happy

Yelp
Terrible service and the quality of food really suffers. Tried to go through a couple different times.

Yelp
Fresh food made to order and excellent service. Our favorite after church on Sunday. Full bar and excellent wines

Yelp
I recently discovered this place during my work travels. Curious enough I knew I had to give it a try. Walking in the place was gorgeous, elegant, and pretty classy. I definitely felt out of place wearing my casual attire. After seeing a "Farm to Table" sign by the kitchen I asked our server if that was the theme of the place. He told me most of the stuff they serve is legit farm to table with only freshest ingredients. Excited we tried the arachini and the artichoke for starters. The melted gooey cheese of the arachini was enough to melt my heart away. The artichokes came with an interesting pesto type sauce that was just amazing! For the main course we tried the pizza and Alfredo. I'll be honest with you, for what they charge for a full sized pizza it fell short. I have had much larger and tastier pizzas. The Alfredo on the other hand was the saving grace that saved the show. The noodles were fresh, and the sauce mixed with some Parmesan cheese, magnificent! Honestly it's a nice place with an interesting menu, but for what their charging I think it falls short of a lot of other great pizzerias in town. The experience was quite pleasant but it just didn't hook me.

Yelp
It's complicated! My daughter loves this one specific dish they have called Chicken Picotta or something like that. I find their service incredibly slow and very inconsistent. We came on a slow Thursday evening and it took nearly 35 min for us to get our food. Our waitress brought us our food and the never checked in with us until it was time to bring the check. The food is meh for me. They get three stars because my daughter loves it. I'd be fine never coming back again. Try it if you must. I'd suggest Il vicino down the road. Way better service and the staff is friendly. Shoutout to the hostess. The only redeeming part of my experience.
google avatar

Kathleen S.

Yelp
The best pizza in Albuquerque! Love the fungi pizza and the Caesar salad and wine selection. Attentive service!
google avatar

Mor S.

Yelp
If you want to be seated and wait 20 minutes to have someone notice you, then wait 40 minutes for food just to have appetizers and main course arrive at the same time, without any acknowledgment of the subpar service you experience, have your date night destroyed, and you left feeling annoyed and frustrated-- Farina Alto Pizzeria is the restaurant for you. I wouldn't have posted this if it wasn't the third time it happened in the last year. Owner/Management need to use this review to fix this experience.

Yelp
Always a great experience at Farina Alto, whether it's happy hour, date night or a family dinner this place never disappoints! Recently in for afternoon drinks and snacks and had a lovely view of the patio from the bar area. The Verde Salad is a favorite and they always offer to split it to 2 plates, and the Antipasto app is also perfect for sharing. Great service both from the bar and in the dining room, I highly recommend a visit to Farina Alto!
google avatar

Arra P.

Yelp
if I could give this place a zero I would . the hostess put us in the bar with no waiter!! the poor bartender had to take care of all the tables in the bar and make the drinks for the whole restaurant. This is such poor management. The manager was clueless and just walked around We waited an hour for our food three small pizzas and pasta!! The food was cold and no flavor not worth the $150 bill.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Farina alto, where I had the good fortune of being served by Amber, the bartender. From the moment I walked in, although they had a sign on the door saying they closed early, I was greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello from Amber. Not only did Amber make delicious cocktails, but she also made us feel at home in the restaurant. She engaged us in conversation and provided excellent service throughout the night. Her attention to detail was second to none, and she even took the time to explain the history behind some of the ingredients used in the cocktails. She makes the BEST Cosmopolitan. I highly recommend stopping by Farina Alto on Montgomery and asking for Amber to make you a drink. In short, Farina Alto has fantastic food and great service!!!

Luc H.

Yelp
Came in only had to wait a couple minutes to be greeted and sat. They place looks nice. Food was rich and tasty. Portions were small for the quality of service. When you are spending 3x the amount than Domino's for pizza you don't expect Domino's level of dine in experience. We had to ask for silverware about 5 minutes after our app was at the table, ask to have the plates cleared, 30 minutes wait for the second pizza to come out, asked for a couple boxes and got 4 pieces of tin foil like it's a good truck. How do you expect me to put noodles in tin foil? The guy I assume is the manager walks around and doesn't interact with any tables. If you're looking for a nicer restaurant similar to this price point and ambience, I would consider zinc or seasons 52.

Krystal B.

Yelp
We decided to try this place for my birthday dinner because we have heard it recommended so many times. I have to say that it did not live up to its reputation at all. Checking in with a party of 5 was really awkward. We were seated immediately but I was made to feel like our party was too large and we should have made a reservation. The food took forever to come out. Do people really want to spend more than 2 hours on uncomfortable bar height chairs at a pizza place? Once received, we felt that the portions were tiny for the price and the food wasn't anything special. The tomato sauce on the pasta was very bland and my salad was not very fresh. The pizza was good but not memorable and ridiculously small. For the price, I would expect more.

Maeve B.

Yelp
The Verde salad is outstanding. Their pizzas are just ok. I prefer the Farina on Central because they have specials-creative pizza toppings that aren't on their everyday menu. I recently had the carne pizza at the Montgomery location and it was too salty to eat. The time before, I had their spaghetti and meatballs...again, just ok. I thought the meatballs would have been outstanding from the description-'local grass fed beef.' The flavor was lacking, and there weren't many meatballs. The place itself is odd. It feels like it was an Applebees at some point. The layout feels uncomfortable and cold. The service was not great when I went recently with 6 friends. Drink orders were missed, and it took hunting down our waiter to order more drinks or at least get some of the first ones that were never delivered to the table. I don't see going back; it's been consistently average.

David D.

Yelp
I used to like this place. Now, the food comes out cold, the pasta sauce is watery, and we're charged $60 for 4 Limoncello Martinis. I've got better things to do.

Bob P.

Yelp
The overall experience was a pleasant and overall enjoyable lunch! Food was generous portion, tasty and was a nice surprise. Eggplant was stacked and breaded with mint witha beautiful presentation. Would order again. My wife had the vodka pasta with sausage. Again it was seasoned well and she loved it!! We also tried the fried artichoke hearts. So so good with pesto and sour cream we couldn't stop eating them!! Want more! Service was good and atmosphere clean and modern! Will come back. Recommend it highly.

Yelp
First time for pizza takeout. Fabulous pizza. A little too much oil but offset by great taste. Nice staff as well. I'll try a sit down dinner next.

Yelp
Soooooooo hood. You need to try this place. The ambience, food, and service is impeccable. Be sure to order the Boudino dessert.
google avatar

Donathan B.

Yelp
The restaurant created a very pleasant dining environment and experience for me and my partner. All the hosts and waitresses were very nice and lovely, and the food is spectacular. Be warned only dine if you have the time, this place was not intended for a quick dine and go.

John G.

Yelp
My favorite local pizza spot! Always very friendly staff and delicious pizzas! I love the pepperoni and green chiles!
google avatar

Cassandra O.

Yelp
This is in my estimation one of the best pizza in Albuquerque. However, I give it only 3 stars because they are extremely overpriced. In this day and age when everyone struggles with their money, their prices should be a little more reasonable. A small 12" pizza is $20. I was shocked to see how small it was. Compare this to Giovanni's Pizza (where you get a decent size pizza enough to satisfy a family of 4). Farina Alto's pizza is maybe big enough for two people. We don't come here very often because of their prices.
google avatar

JC G.

Yelp
This is my go-to gourmet pizza place. They have delicious salads and really good pizza. The service was unsolicitous, but attentive, and the ambience of the place is casually upscale.
google avatar

Taru F.

Yelp
We went there for the last time yesterday after three attempts to get good food and good service. I am sorry to say we will not be back. The tiny portion size on a small Spaghetti and Meatballs where the Meatballs were also cold, was at a new alarming price of $16! There needed to be more sauce on my Penne Ala Vodka, hubby got burnt bread, and poor service from a waitress not appropriately dressed (shorts+) who failed to bring our drinks and salad well before the entrees were served, little attention was paid afterward, and no drink refills offered. And our bill with tip was over $40! We're super disappointed because it was one of our favorite places to eat. A couple of months ago when we had undercooked pasta and not enough sauce, the waitress told us there was a new Chef as the previous one had quit suddenly. I am sad!

Lola B.

Yelp
Always a great place! The food is fantastic, there is something for everyone. The service is great . Nice selection of wine and cocktails so something to consider when looking for a happy hour spot.
google avatar

Harry R.

Yelp
Depends on the day and staffing. Food is usually reliable but too often the bartender had to cover tables as well.
google avatar

Wendy L.

Yelp
Sadly disappointing. My first time trying Farina as I'm new to town, and a local friend recommended the pizza. I ordered take-out: the Melanzane pizza was dry and flavorless. Very little sauce, paper thin slices of eggplant and the crust was hard and stale. The Caesar salad was just a container of wilted romaine and old hard, over baked croutons, and a half filled small container of dressing. Seriously? Oh, and it was mostly empty, so can't say the kitchen was slammed. Either I chose an off night or this place is over rated. As an Italian American, I can testify this is subpar Italian fare.
google avatar

Maricris I.

Yelp
Wow!!! So happy to have found this place. The chicken Parmesan is absolutely the best I ever had. The sauce is not the typical tomato sauce. To me it has a lemon hint to it which makes it divine. Huge portions as well! The pizza was delicious and the crust what can I say amazing! We also had the caprese salad nice portion and delicious! Will definitely make it out spot to go! The service was also amazing which makes the experience even better! Great job!

Yelp
Great pizza with their own homemade cured meats and top notch ingredients. Service is good and the atmosphere and location are great. Never had a bad experience there.
