This was true luxury in beautiful surroundings. Our cottage was spotless and cosy, always warm and excellently appointed. The food all through the stay was delicious, especially the New Year 7 course banquet. The service was efficient and discreet and it was a privilege to hear Hrishi talk about his menu in such an impassioned way. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our fourth visit and we were not disappointed.

Spent a fantastic two night break at Farlam Hall last weekend and found the whole experience superb.||From the moment we arrived it was clear that everyone’s primary concern was that we should enjoy our visit as much as possible. In this they succeeded spectacularly. ||The building and its grounds are beautiful. It is both immaculately clean and very well appointed. The junior suite we called home over the weekend was lovely.||The standard of food served throughout was both consistent and amazingly good. A separate review of Cedar Tree and Enkel to follow.||It was great to be greeted on arrival by Hrishi Desai, someone we never got to opportunity to meet at Gilpin. I can honestly say the man is as modest as he is talented. ||Suffice to say, Farlam Hall is a fabulous place to spend time relaxing and indulging in both fabulous food and seamless, friendly service.

A lovely hotel, very nice room, great food and very friendly staff.|We were booked into the Bistro, which actually was a pretty good alternative after travelling. After we arrived, we found the Bistro and Michelin Starred restaurant are the same. Just a change of appearance. On this Sunday night, it was a Michelin starred menu, based on an all day Sunday roast. The scallop starter was fantastic. My wife had sirloin and unfortunately was not that good. My fish was superb. |An expensive night, but we'll worth it, apart from the sirloin. Suggest they get their booking system to keep pace with reality, so there are no surprises.|No car charging either, which in 5 star hotels is uncommon. A problem apparently with permissions?

Best restaurant I’ve been to and I’ve been to many Michelin star restaurants! They remembered me from my last visit a year ago and the head chef hrishi came out to talk to everyone individually! It’s the fine details what makes the experience special! I definitely will be back again. Thank you.

Beautiful overnight stay for a special occasion. From the pre-stay phone call right through to departure the customer service was faultless. On arrival, the welcome was warm and convivial, professional but friendly. Our room (standard) was sumptuous and warm, all the toiletries was beautiful quality. The food and drinks offer was outstanding and dinner was exceptionally fabulous. What a wonderful stay - and thank you to everyone 👏👏

The service really marred the whole experience. My husband and I were gifted an afternoon tea for our anniversary. When we arrived, we were greeted at the front door by a lady who I can only describe as a 'bouncer' of sorts - she stood in front of us, making it clear we were not to venture any further into the building until we had proven we had a booking... I was also rather strangely escorted to the lavatory, rather then simply given directions ("to your left at the end of the corridor" seems rather easy to remember...). Perhaps I look like the type to get easily lost? I got a glass of fizz as a treat (we were celebrating after all!) but I never did get my pot of tea. I'd have brought it up, but we never saw the staff again. No one checked if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. We had to go looking for someone in order to pay the bill (for the glass of fizz). No one offered to take my coat, although I know other people in the room were awarded that level of service. I shared my husband's pot of tea - my tea cup was cracked and leaked - again, I'd have brought it up if a single member of staff had approached us. And there were plenty of staff about - we could hear them laughing and joking and chatting, outside of the dining room in the corridor. The scones and homemade jam were delicious. There was a bit too much chocolate in the fruit tarts for my liking, making them a little sickly. The pistachio cake was slightly dry. The cheese and pickle sandwiches were a tad disappointing, but the egg ones were very tasty. The dining room itself lacked any atmosphere. Beautiful surrounding area. Close enough to major roads. We love to dine out frequently - anywhere and everywhere! However, we won't be returning here. Nor will we be recommending to anyone else.

Fabulous restaurant in the most beautiful of renovated buildings. The ambiance of the hotel is grand but homely and friendly.|The rooms were furnished beautifully with a modern bathroom.|I found all the staff to be professional and friendly.|Our the highlight of our stay was the meal in the Michelin starred restaurant.|We had the tasting menu with the flight of wines.|Every course was a delight with little hints of Indian flavours.|I particularly liked the fact that you could see the meal being prepared by the chefs as you were walked through to be seated. |Breakfast offered everything you could want and was delicious. |Overall a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend it.

What a lovely venue, great location wonderful views. Rooms all beautifully decorated and well presented. Dinning room was lovely and afternoon tea was exceptional. The staff are fabulous very friendly and courteous. We had a great afternoon and loved every minute of it. You have to book and they only serve afternoon tea on a Thursday.
