On the Grid : Farley's

"When founder Roger Hillyard opened the shop—named after his grandfather, Jack Farley—in 1989, he envisioned a place where neighborhood residents could gather, talk, and relax. Nearly 30 years later, Farley's is still a place where everyone is welcome. Families, artists, laptop-toting workers, and groups of friends and neighbors share the airy space and the elevated parklet out front. Settle in with your favorite magazine from the rack, enjoy the rotating exhibitions by local artists, play a board game, or peruse the communal journals kept on the shop's shelves. This place is the real deal." - Hearsay Supper Club

The 14 Best Restaurants At San Francisco International Airport - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Farley’s is a cafe with locations in Oakland, Potrero Hill, and the Oakland Airport. But this is the only one with a full bar, so you can slide up to the counter and order a tuna melt, avocado toast, and an espresso martini to take the edge off the multi-toddler meltdown happening at gate F22. Going for any of the sandwiches is always a good move, and we also like their seasonal lattes." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez

Where To Eat & Drink In Potrero Hill - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This coffee shop feels like it was ripped out of a Chuck Lorre script. It’s one of those places where you can always hang out, and there are people on their laptops waiting for a group of four unlikely friends to come in and drive the episode’s plot forward in some hilarious way. The staff is friendly, there are a lot of seats, and if you forgot your computer, there are a ton of magazines for sale in the back that you can pretend to read as the comic relief character bursts through the door to tell the others how a squirrel locked them out of their apartment." - team infatuation

The person at the register didn’t greet me or say anything I asked could I get a tuna melt they said nothing but punched it in and then said tap? I tapped and paid for a tuna melt that was $19. Horrible service my table was dirty I didn’t feel welcomed at all. The tuna melt? The tuna melt tasted like the bottom of a rubber sole on a shoe. It was not appetizing at all and honestly a waste of money. The atmosphere wasn’t that great either. I didn’t have the best experience here. I wish that they could improve and hopefully this helps them in the future.

Farley’s Coffee in Terminal 3 at SFO is a hidden gem for travelers looking to enjoy a real cup of coffee before their flight. Unlike the typical airport chains, Farley’s has a warm, local vibe and serves high-quality drinks with friendly service. The baristas were quick, even during a busy morning rush, and the coffee was rich and smooth—definitely a step above your standard airport brew. I had a cappuccino and a breakfast sandwich, and both were fresh and satisfying. There’s also a nice selection of pastries and snacks, and the seating area offers a good place to relax before boarding. Whether you need a caffeine fix or just want a cozy corner to unwind, Farley’s is a great choice.

Google
A simple place to grab a snack or a cocktail/beer while waiting for your flights in SFO.

Vivian is a very nice girl. Spontaneous and great service. She was always attentive, and smiling! Great service and good food. The turkey pesto sandwich was delicious! Also the Meats Up pizza was so tasty! Nice place while waiting for your flight.

Google
Farley's at SFO offers a decent coffee experience but lacks variety in food options. The service was efficient, though the atmosphere felt a bit rushed. It’s convenient for a quick stop, but not memorable enough for a longer stay. Could improve on ambiance.

Google
Just had the best Club Sandwish at Farley's. If you are at this SFO airport by gates 17- 18-19-20-21, treat yourself to a well balanced and very well prepared Sandwish. You won't regreted.

Best cappuccino I’ve never got in any airports love it. sourdough sandwiches is warm cashier is nice. Clean place.

Yelp
Here at SFO at 7:00am in Wed. Went to Farley's to grab breakfast, the maple latte and drip coffee excellent, the bacon breakfast sandwich made to order so hot and fresh and had an aioli that was good too. my kid's hoagie sandwich he said was ok. The chocolate and almond croissants were both good. Service was patient (I took a while deciding), and good. The wait was not long.

Yelp
It's an airport cafe so I'm not expecting some classy, luxury experience. You're likely here because your gate is nearby and you need a quick coffee/snack/drink. Some tips I've learned from when I was recently there waiting for my 8 AM flight on a Thursday: + the wait can be long. When I was there, there were only 3 people working: 1 prepping the food, 1 handling the bar, and 1 handling the cashier. When there's many people in line order everything from alcohol to coffee to hot breakfast meals, this means that those poor staff members have a lot to do so be patient. + if you order a pastry and don't care for it to be warmed up, tell them! I waited a long time for them to just pull the pastry out of the glass case and hand it to me. I wish I had just said it in the beginning so I didn't have to wait. + there's line to the cashier but you can also order on your own via their kiosk just off to the left of the cashier. No one in line noticed this for awhile, until one person halfway through the line just walked up and ordered on there. Anyways, the food is good enough as a snack and the coffee is just okay. Be prepared to pay airport prices for it though! The breakfast sandwich will go for closer to $15!

Yelp
I was hoping for coffee before an early flight. Hours said they open at 430. Instead it's 5 or 530? Literally hundreds of people at the airport waiting for early flights. Please update your hours to be accurate!

Yelp
What can I say? It's an airport cafe. There is a small seating area, but it seemed to be predominantly occupied by lounge folks not cafe folks. That being said, I tried a maple latte. I was worried because I forgot to ask for half-syrup as most flavored coffee drinks are a lot sweeter than I like. I was pleasantly surprised. It had a mild maple flavor and was not too sweet. I don't know that I'd walk across terminals to get there, but I would go there again of the situation presented itself. No picture of my drink because a latte in a to-go cup isn't much to look at.

Yelp
Got a decent breakfast sandwich before my flight, but only barely because of the service speed. This was the closest food spot to my gate all the way at the end of the F gates and I was starving. The line was a bit long and it seemed like it wasn't moving fast, but I also had 25 minutes until boarding started. It took 27 minutes before I managed to actually get my breakfast sandwich including almost 20 minutes after I ordered. I still managed to get into the group 1 united boarding line before they started, albeit almost the end of the line. The actual sandwich was pretty good. I got an egg breakfast sandwich with added bacon and avocado. It came on toasted and buttered white bread and was yummy all-around even if it didn't stand out in any major way.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by my tuna melt. It was hot, cheesy, and had a ton of tuna on it. There are several different types of bread to choose from. They do have some grab and go options as well as a bar. Located in terminal F at the end at SFO. Give this place a chance.

Yelp
Cold/ will mot warm croissant -1. Barely-any-lox- bagel -1. Over the counter with minimum tip expectation of 18% -1. Nice place to seat though +1. Total 3 stars. Will go again as the other places in the terminal are not better.

Yelp
Airports can be really hit or miss when it comes to reasonably priced and nice places to wait. On my last trip I had a few hours to kill after checking out of the hotel so I walked around the airport waiting for my flight. There are lots of overpriced places serving great beer and reasonable places serving bad beer. Thankfully this place is reasonable and has great beer ($12 giant Pliny the Elder anyone)? It was mostly empty on my visit, the staff was welcoming. They have a small bar area and plenty of tables inside a roped off alcohol zone area. It offers a nice view of the terminal with large windows for natural light. A bonus was bumping into a friend who had just had a beer here as well. If you're in this part of SFO, I recommend stopping here for a drink while you wait.

Yelp
Fantastic service by Marcia at Farley's near gate F22 at SFO! She: - made a gimlet to order and nailed it - took care of my food order at the bar (salad off the shelf) - was pleasant and friendly - changed the TV channel for another guest - accepted the airline food voucher (even when she didn't have to!) If you are deciding between Farley's and the SF Giants Clubhouse at gate F15, GO TO FARLEY's. Food and service are so much better than at the Clubhouse. I ate there earlier today (before my flight was delayed). Choose Farley's and Marcia every time.

Yelp
The coffee from this small local chain is reasonably priced and their house roast pretty tasty overall. I got their bearclaw to accompany it -- it was buttery, cinnamony, and almondy as you'd expect.

Yelp
Just had the Turkey Pesto on sourdough and a Mai Tai and was really good!!! Perfectly grilled on a panini press. The staff were really friendly and their happiness creates a great vibe to be around while I'm waiting for my flight. Service was quick too and the staff followed up to ensure my food tasted good. This is definitely the go to spot for SFO. It's a shame they are all the way at the end by gate F22 but I'll walk out my way for sure to hit this place up.
google avatar

Ciana M.

Yelp
I got a mai tai... guess how much it cost??? GUESS!!!......... 26$ what a joke. Cannot believe it honestly and the server had no shame

Yelp
Best healthy salad I've tasted! Special request: Whole Health Protein Bowl: instead of tahini sauce, please substitute green goddess sauce. Add hard boiled egg and cucumber. I ordered the Whole Health Protein Bowl and thought it was delicious, then ordered another one for my mom. Mine was different from what was on the menu because the salad maker decided to make it taste better. My mom's followed the menu item, but I think mine tasted better :) Great fresh ingredients, best airport meal, and one of the best salads I've had!

Yelp
Had a veggie flatbread pizza on my way to LA from SFO. It was bomb! Staff were cheerful and quick. Stop by and check them out in T3

Ethan P.

Yelp
extremely rude staff. There much better options at the airport so just go somewhere else if you want to talk to normal people

Yelp
located near the end of terminal 3 near end of gate f22...prepackaged sandwiches and food available along with made-to-order from the menu...a full bar too...ordering at the counter a simple egg sandwich on bagel $10...$4.25 for an americano...paying $15.48 after tax and adding $2.56 tip for a total of $18.04...early morning flight and a quick breakfast before boarding...few minutes and the egg sandwich delivered...asking about the coffee...coffee was forgotten, but staff went back to fill a cup quickly...the sandwich packaging was scorching hot...carefully peeling the paper wrapping to unleash hot steam and molten lava cheese flowing down...grab a lot of napkins, but this sandwich was super hot...having a bagel slipping and sliding from the oozing cheese didn't help...overall, a good sandwich and decent coffee...

mark s.

Yelp
Ordered a small coffee, I'm just a simple man, but the looks I got from the staff were really strange. Guess I didn't fit in as I did have a tie and jacket on. Never felt more out of place or unwanted in my life. Maybe it was because I wasn't wearing a mask, or they thought I may have been Jewish. Not sure.

Yelp
Service was quick, friendly servers, food was avacodo toast was good, laid back atmosphere

Jojo K.

Yelp
Won't allow to sit at the bar if you want to order an alcohol. I want coffee, the place was completely empty and apparently I had to have booze to have a seat. What if I don't want a drink at 7am? Gross customer service.

Evan T.

Yelp
I never post yelp reviews but, I think I have met the rudest lady I have ever met here today. As I was ordering I said I would like a black cup of coffee. She proceeded to ask what kind, and I said 'regular drip black coffee', she then said, " we have a lot of coffee which one. ", I said "the drip coffee without flavoring or creamer", then she said, "well you should have said drip then". Then spilled my coffee as she pushed the cup towards me and spilled it on my hand. The coffee has coffee grounds in it, but the croissant is good.

Cathy L.

Yelp
Bad bad Bad service. Aboarding flight stop here to get coffee and bagel cream cheese wit bacon. Cashier- 5 mins it will be rdy Flght Attt- u have 6mins doors closing Me-- 8mins latr wheres my bagel Casher-- looking for cook. Cook come out chewing food cumbs on her mouth asking WHAT WHAT... Then give me a refund for the coffee NOT my bagel/ bacon. She ate my bagel. Then cheated me out my $.

Yelp
Love the airport location the staff is very friendly and the vibe is cool. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Delicious new addition to our airport located in SFO next to F21 in Terminal 3. From an assortment of premise sandwiches and salads to gourmet breakfast items this place is a definite delicious new must stop spot. Plenty of fresh baked pasteries. The line moves fairly quick. If you order a crepe though be advised it takes 15-20 min to prepare. If you have time it's worth the wait. Can't wait to go back and try something different.

Jarnold S.

Yelp
The service was very good. I had wings and they were great. Definite spot to return to.

Devon M.

Yelp
A hidden gem for food and beverage. It's a smallish place tucked right next to gate F22, with both takeaway and sit down food. It has prepackaged takeaway as well. Extremely solid beer and hard alcohol selection. By the shape of the pizza it's fresh made, not frozen and heated! There's always room at the bar or tables (at least whenever I pass through SFO) I think it's because it's at the end of a terminal and impossible to see unless you walk down.
google avatar

Arjun M.

Yelp
Poor quality service and food. They don't try their best to enhance customer experiences. Relying heavily on their proximity to gates to sell their overpriced food.
google avatar

Toni Rose M.

Yelp
Was here on 11/26/21 around 5:25am, the cashier wasn't wearing a mask and made me feel very uncomfortable so I hope management reads this. I know I could've gone elsewhere to get my order but I didn't want to walk all the way to peets coffee. I am also an airport employee so everyone should comply with the mask guidelines in the airport at all times. Didn't want to make a big fuss out of it when I made an order since there were several customers ahead and before me, but to the employees here, customers can wait if you don't have proper attire to perform at work, everyone's safety is our priority.

Shelli C.

Yelp
Terrible customer service! I sat at the bar for 10-12 minutes without regard from staff. Finally a young man stated, the bartender will be on break for an hour; he did however offer to poor a glass of wine or shot. Perhaps place a sign on the bar so patrons don't waste their time. I am grateful to the young man, but honestly it's a strange way to do business!

Yelp
I must say I know airport sandwiches and I've probably never wanted to leave a review because they just have never been that good. I wish I remembered the name of the manager (Liana?) having printer issues, she was still on it getting orders out. Minor mistake in charging me for something I had put back but she quickly refunded and it was more my fault. The sandwich and avocado toast was basic but tasted great and nothing I'm accustomed to at the airport. The manager checked on us after we were done and I was impressed with their customer service. I don't remember many places I stop for a quick bite while traveling but I'll remember Farleys at SFO :)
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
Spent way too much time drinking shitty beer before finding this GEM. Do yourself a favor and keep walking down the terminal until you get to Farley's.
google avatar

V V.

Yelp
Service is straight trash here! One person taking orders and making food! I've been in like for like 25 mins, with only one person in front of me. After that the one person went to the other cashier and served a person who just walked up! I'm actually still waiting, love the service.
google avatar

Yelp
Marcia is amazing. Impeccable customer service, personable professional and friendly. They are open late when you have that horrid connection and worth the walk

Tonya P.

Yelp
I'm Obsessed with Marcia!! She took care of me the minute I stepped in the bar. Amazing conversation, great drinks, and made my bad day better. So happy I stopped by!

Yelp
Grabbed a croissant. It was basically bread w chocolate. No flaky layers. Sad

Yelp
I travel international and domestic. I always come here to grab a drink favorite place. Must come staff is the one and only day or night you never miss with these people especially with the management crew they are the best thanks for always taking care of me

Harper L.

Yelp
Best coffee in SFO. Most airport cafes burn the espresso but here it's really well made. The food is really solid too. Nothing mind blowing but it's freshly made and good ingredients. I come here every time I fly through SF

Liam T.

Yelp
The bartender was nice enough, but the barista/lady working the register was NOT having it today. So much attitude to everyone she spoke to. Also, if you only have two coffee sizes, you don't have a medium. You have a small and a larger or a smaller one and a bigger one. You need at least three sizes to have a medium. When people ask for a large, give them your bigger option. She got so much joy out of correcting people and saying, "We only have small and medium." Waste of time and energy all around.

Lynette T.

Yelp
My first espresso martini ever &the bartender MICHAEL did not disappoint! Will definitely come back for another when I fly out of SFO T3 by GATE F22! Service here at FARLEY's was amazing LANI the manager & staff were impeccable!

Christopher E.

Yelp
I actually gave this dump a 2 because no one ever reads a one star review. I've been to some really bad places in airports and other places in my travels. This place takes the cake as for the most horrible food at the highest price. I chocked down 3 chicken wings and just left. I mean I get that it's airport food but jesus christ this is so bad.

Nicole G.

Yelp
Marcia Martinez was great! she helped us quickly, even if the bar was at full capacity. She was also helping her teammates all while serving the bar. Her drinks were great and her urgent attitude and humor made the experience all that better!

Sylvia G.

Yelp
Marcia is great Very attentive and friendly ,great customer service i would recommend this place

Jeffrey A.

Yelp
Best place to stop and have a bite or dink in SFO. This morning I had the avacado toast which was amazing. Really fresh and delicious! I forget what kind bread it came on but it was delicious and you could tell it was freshly baked. I had a bloody mary at the bar and it was the best one I have ever had. You can tell they make there own mix and it not some nasty premade you will get at other places. I also had a latte with extra foam on top that i took to go and the foam was so creamy and delicious. Farley's Cafe and lounge is beautiful and super clean place that you can tell is well taken care of. Its a real enjoyable environment to pass time before your flight. The employees here are one of a kind!! Extreamly friendly and happy to help you and provide great service. It nice to have a place at sfo where you know the employee's take pride in providing quality food and service. SFO upped there standards with this place. I highly recommend trying this place next time you fly out of terminal 3 United. Only shame is its located all the way at the end next to gate F22. Definitely the hidden gem of SFO.
