DO NOT USE THEIR WEBSITE TO ORDER FOOD. Sorry. This is going to be a bit of a rant. I had my 1st experience with Farmers & Foragers food truck Saturday night & it was bad. My mistake was pre-ordering fish tacos through their website at 2:00 for later that evening at 6:20. As expected, my credit card was charged & I received an order confirmation via email. I got to the truck a few minutes early & they were busy. That's a good sign, right? I was hungry, but in a good mood. Their sign said they were out of fish tacos. I was so glad I had pre-ordered. When my order was late, I asked at the truck if my food was coming. No. BECAUSE THEY WERE OUT OF FISH TACOS! I said there must be some mistake because I placed my order hours ago. The truck guy said pre-orders don't work because they don't get the orders ahead of time. Huh? The truck sent me to a woman in the tent to sort it out. She checked with the truck & told me THEY WERE OUT OF FISH TACOS! That's it. She walked away. I said I'm still hungry. Can you get me something else? Exasperated, she got me coucous. Since it costs $2.00 less than fish tacos, I asked about a partial refund. I mean, that's fair. Surprised & even more exasperated, she said NO REFUND. Said I was lucky she didn't charge me more. Attitude problem? This was my fault? Seems it was. Because they called me at 6:10 while I was standing outside the truck to tell me THEY WERE OUT OF FISH TACOS, but I didn't answer because my phone was at my chair with my other stuff. The coucous was pretty good. I never will find out if their fish tacos are good. They made sure I'm not coming back. Only had good experiences with Burlington food trucks before that. By the way, I wasn't behaving like an arrogant drunken frat boy. I'm an older woman who was at the park to see a socially distanced outdoor film about John Lewis, the Civil Rights icon & U.S. Representative who died recently. Shout out to VTIFF (Vermont International Film Festival) for the film.
