Where To Find Healthy Food That Doesn't Suck

"Salad vending machines might not sound as exciting as candy vending machines, but we’ll reluctantly admit they’re better for us. The Farmer’s Fridge crew makes freshly made salads available out of vending machines at reasonable prices. Healthy and you don’t have to interact with humans? Win-win." - sam faye

11 Great Healthy Lunch Options

"Farmer’s fridge isn’t actually a restaurant, or even a fast casual take out spot. It’s a vending machine. For salad. These vending machines serve fresh and healthy salads in plastic, recyclable mason jars. Welcome to Martha Stewart’s future. There are a handful around the Loop, West Loop, and River North, so find the closest one to you. Not into vending machine salads? One: try one because it’ll change your mind. And two: check out their stand in Revival Food Hall where you can get things like soup and avocado toast too. We’re sure avocado toast will be served in a vending machine one of these days too." - sam faye

We were so skeptical about this but loved the concept. We were worried about the freshness naturally. It was great, tasty, a good portion. They have plates and forks to dump the contents into. After you can return the container to recycle. It's an amazing idea to have healthy salads available instead of your typical unhealthy snacks to curb your appetite. I wish more cities had this. A Bobba tea vending machine is located next to this one, a perfect pairing.

Farmer’s Fridge is my go-to spot for when I need something healthy but don’t have time to sit down. The salad bowls here are fresh, packed with flavor, and you can taste the quality ingredients. I got the Sweet Potato & Quinoa bowl, which was absolutely loaded with sweet potatoes, black beans, and a spicy kick that kept me coming back for more. Spent around $12, which is totally worth it for the portion size and how filling it was. Plus, I love how easy it is to grab a quick, guilt-free lunch on the go. Definitely a great option for busy Chicagoans who want to eat clean without breaking the bank!

Order was scheduled for delivery today. Email confirmation between 12-2 pm. I received a text this morning at 8:14am that it would arrive in 15-30 minutes. It didn't arrive. I sent them a text to their designated text line asking for an update in case it was delivered to a neighbor or somewhere else. No reply. I got another automatic text saying my eta was updated after 1 pm. I sent another text to their designated text line asking again for an update. No reply. At 4:31 pm I received an automated text that my delivery has changed and since I didn't do it, a staff member was going to contact me. No contact was made on their behalf. I sent an email and called them twice. I left a voice mail on one of those calls. The products I ordered was food. They do not deliver in insulated packaging so it is essential to refrigerate the food within 30 minutes of delivery. This being said, I have not been able to leave my house in the hopes my food would arrive soon! Given they have not responded AT ALL to any of my communication attempts I am basically assuming that I am never going to get the food I ordered and would like a refund Pronto. This is very inconvenient and 100% poor customer service on their part.
