Called Sept 16, 2024 for appt for 2 hogs. Said they could take them the next week because they had a lot of cancellations all of a sudden and didn’t know why. I checked their website before I called to see what the pricing was as we are an hour away and it was comparable to other lockers. We unloaded the hogs and on the gate to the pen area was a note stating that as of Sept 1, 2024 hog processing was a flat $450 per hog (that’s roughly double any other locker price.) We penned them and picked up a cut sheet and that also had the old prices on it. I checked their website again as we were pulling out and it still had the old prices on it. I called the next day to ask about the pricing, explained everything and asked if they would honor the old pricing. They would not. I asked why they didn’t mention the price change when I called. So it cost me $900 to have 2 hogs butchered and when I picked it up, they “missed” a full tray of meat. They didn’t call me to let me know, just waited until I went back in December to pick up a beef we had processed and gave it to me then. I will not use this locker again!

Not friendly at all. They lie. Dropped off meat on Friday for a pickup on Saturday. Showed up on Monday and the meat still was not ready. We paid for expedited order got charged for it, but did not get the service we paid for. When we dropped off our deer they were very accommodating. No problems they said. Expediting would be no problem. Everyone was so helpful in taking our cash deposits. We dropped off 4 deer. Suddenly it’s time to pick them up and they are like deer in the headlights. What’s your name? When did you drop them? GO ELSEWHERE!!! They are the worst ever. There are others in the area and that’s where we are going in the future.

I will not go anywhere else for beef processing again. Lesson learned in the pic: the 3 packages on the right are from Farmhouse, the 1 on the right is not, same size order. The packaging itself is worth the hour & a half drive for me.

A wonderful local butcher / meat market. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have lots of locally sourced meat both frozen and fresh. A wonderful addition to the area.

I'd give them 10 stars if it were an option. I'm a deer hunter who travels more than 1000 miles to get to Carthage each fall to hunt. For the past couple of years I've used Farmhouse Meats to process the animals we harvest. They do an absolutely amazing job. I've tried other processors in the surrounding area and trust me, there's just no comparison. The quality & cleanliness of their state of the art facility, the resources they offer like the 24 hour access to drop animals off in their walk in cooler, and the quality of the processed meat & packaging places them far above any other processor in the region. The manager Kathy is an absolute rock star. Saying she goes above and beyond for her customers is an understatement. She has time and again, year after year, been willing to help us when we had special needs or required fast turnaround times on our processing. She is incredibly generous and helpful each and every time we come in. I would encourage any sportsman, whether local or out-of-state, who is looking for a top notch processing facility to stop by, talk to Kathy, and see for yourself why this place is the best resource for hunters in the entire area.

I have no experience with the store / meat quality part of this business, however, as a vendor that used to supply them with product, I can testify that communication skills is not something management is blessed with. 😟
