Lovely place, great concept!! Wonderful service and delicious food. However, I have been to many tasting dinners and have fasted a bit before each---do not fast before this, the portions are so delicious but small. As long as you treat it like a tasting meal, you will be fine. The atmosphere was top notch

Farrand Hall is just SPECTACULAR! James & Jacob are some of the most inspirational visionaries in the Midwest. What they have done within their community is not only creative & extremely admirable, but it IS the American Dream. We have had the most amazing dinners of all time there! The food is always TEN STARS and the vibe is FAMILY. Farrand Hall is such a gem and if you have the opportunity to visit, DO IT!!! I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this extraordinary family empire.

Wonderful Wednesday night dinner!! it had rained all day, so we were inside instead of outside, but it was a beautiful space! Dinner was fantastic and we loved the whole experience. There was something very relaxing and magical about it.✨

Just book the reservation and let the beautiful gardens, food and humans that run the Hall speak for itself!

Oh my goodness what a lovely experience. A group of ours bought tickets for a guest chef Saturday dinner (Sarah Rinklage) and were thrilled with the evening. The staff is charming and incredible. The venue is cozy and rustic. Sarah’s menu was fantastic. Looking forward to our next special event at Farrand Hall. Could be improved: communication. 3 of my 4 emails went unanswered (hence the need for 4 emails) and as first time guests had questions that weren’t entirely answered by the FAQ page. The site says emails will be answered in 24 hours and that was not our experience. But otherwise, certainly a 5-star experience that we can’t wait to share with other friends, to bring them along for another outing. Well done.

Lovely and I ate here a few days ago and really enjoyed ourselves. We met a nice couple ( Thank you Rob and Lisa for great company ) that made the experience even better. Beautiful gardens accent the dining area , and the food was fun, tasty, and plentiful. We had three different lamb preparations that were each uniquely different and appetizing. I took a pics of a few dishes, but there were more I missed. Our host was informative and friendly. We look forward to our next visit to Farrand Hall.

Really nice place. Beautiful farm, service is a little mediocre for the level of dining and cuisine. Also they should do small bite appetizers before dinner. I just didn't leave super full.

Drove almost two hours and it was well worth it! The food was great, the company (Dan & Sarah from Kzoo) were fantastic and the grounds were gorgeous. The only thing I would suggest is to have pop. I'm not a drinker, and I disliked the two non alcoholic teas they had.

Yelp
We've been wanting to try Farrand Hall for some time, and so were pleased to get tickets to their Valentine dinner on 02/14/25. Truly, the evening exceeded our expectations! We were warmly welcomed by our hostess, Binaca (she was great!), and ushered to our assigned seats at a communal table (see pic). Mind you, you must be comfortable sitting with strangers, as part of the mission and ambiance of Farrand Hall is the promotion of community. The kitchen is open (see pic) and expertly run by head chef Ken Miller and his talented staff. The food was amazingly delicious, fresh, innovative, and very artistically arranged on the plate. We begin eating with our eyes, as we all know, so presentation did not disappoint! The progression from one course to the next was not rushed, so be prepared to perhaps dine a bit longer than you may be use to. However, each course flowed meticulously, with anticipation of what comes next growing! Jacob (one of the owners) was present the entire evening. The atmosphere was relaxed, comfortable, and fun.. if you'd like an out-of-the-ordinary evening out, get a reservation and experience Farrand Hall for yourselves. We doubt that you'd ever regret it!

Yelp
I'd been seeing posts popping up on Instagram about Farrand Hall, and then I found out that a local pastry chef from GR started working with them. I was intrigued so I decided to look into a dinner there for our ten year anniversary. As of summer 2024, they do weeknight dinners Wednesday through Friday, with special guest chef dinners on Saturdays. The weeknight dinners are five courses served family style, and I paid $90 per person. Beer and wine are available for purchase on site. I have to say that the photos don't do this place justice. The owners, Jacob and James, bought the property as a personal weekend getaway spot from their Chicago home, but quickly realized they could do something really special with the space. They live in the house on the property and built out two "barns" - one serves as the kitchen, dining space for colder/inclement weather, retail store, and bar. We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in, and my jaw dropped at the decor. It's a bit dark and moody, but still welcoming. We bought a bottle of wine to share during dinner, then walked out to the pergola where a beautiful long table was set for dinner. The "white barn" serves as a lounge space, and looks straight out of an interior design magazine. The design touches are incredible, and I was so impressed by all the details. We were able to walk around the gardens and property before dinner, and we said hi to some friendly ducks and chickens that were roaming. Then the dinner bell rang and we were welcomed to dinner, with the owners chatting about their story. Then the food started coming out! Everything is served family style, which is personally not my preference, but it does create a shared, friendly atmosphere. The servers were great about indicating how each dish should be shared amongst the table. The menu changes seasonally and we heard from the chef, who talked about the local farms that they use to source ingredients. Everything was quite delicious and while it wasn't the absolute best meal I've ever had, it was such a fun and beautiful experience that it definitely garnered five stars from me. The coulotte pastrami steak dish was my favorite, and the lamb meatballs were a close second. Farrand Hall is a 90 minute drive from downtown Grand Rapids, but it was totally worth it for a special occasion. I'd love to go back again someday!

Yelp
Delicious meal and a memorable experience. It reminded me of an episode of Top Chef where contestants visit a farm and prepare a meal for 100 guests using local farmers market produce

Yelp
Very fun experience. Great service. Be sure you're comfortable with communal tables!!

Yelp
Dante and his staff prepared an utterly amazing spread of flavorful dishes sourced from local farms. I really wish I could give this five stars. The sole reason I am not doing so is because, as a result of a rainstorm, a portion of the guests (my wife and I were part of this group) were seated inside the White Barn while the rest were seated inside the main Black Barn building. The White Barn, unlike the Black Barn, had no AC (it was a very humid evening), were a ways away from the bathrooms and the bar, and throughout the entire meal we were covered with flies and mosquitoes. The vibe was just totally different in the White Barn. It was an unfortunate part of the experience, and was disappointing because the meal and staff were fantastic. We will certainly be back but just wanted to provide feedback here.
