The Best Food Pop-Ups in Seattle - Eater Seattle

"For this growing pop-up, Seattle native Alex Dorros cooks up Peruvian dishes influenced by his travels around South America, with help from his mom. The menu rotates often, but past meals have included ceviche, seafood stews, braised vegetables with Peruvian herbs, pepper-based sauces like aji amarillo, and plantain chips. Most recently, it has popped up at Fast Penny Spirits in North Queen Anne. Updates can be found on Siembra’s Instagram." - Jade Yamazaki Stewart

First thing is that both Amaricano and Amaricano Bianca are excellent amari! Second, we truly enjoyed visiting Fast Penny, the drinks we had there were quite tasty, and we enjoyed the tour and conversation with Jamie and her husband. Lastly, we had a shipping issue with our last order, which was not the fault of Fast Penny; but, Jamie made it right for us, promptly sending a replacement. Thank you...Fast Penny fully deserve the 5-star review.

We spent an absolutely amazing Friday night touring the Fast Penny Spirits distillery. Our guide, Adam, was incredibly knowledgeable and funny. Cocktails he made for us (Cloister and Amaro Martini) are our new favorites. Very special experience and space. Highly recommend!

Truly amazing! Complex and satisfying. Neat, over ice, or in a cocktail. So good. And their service is exceptional too.

Not many places can be called magical, but this is one. Learning the blend of art and science that goes into making their product on an amazing tour was a very special evening.

Yelp
Super sweet little tasting room/cocktail bar, beautiful covered and heated patio, complementary tastings of their amaros and a selection of amaro-based cocktails. I don't know why it wasn't busier because it is a gem!

Yelp
I really love a good Amaro & guess what there is a local Seattle one run by some smart peeps! They have a great location in between the Ballard/Fremont neighborhoods on or near the water! They host a variety of pop ups which is another reason to love this shop & their wares they sell! I can't always make it back to one of my fave neighborhoods but they do sell in stores this fine Amaro! They also have some great drinks served on their tasting deck! The Bianca Amaro is outstanding btw!

Yelp
I saw an ad on Instagram for locally made Amaro by a woman-owned distillery. That caught my eye and I'm glad it did because this stuff is INCREDIBLE! I bought both Americano and Americano Bianco online, for pickup at their distillery/tasting room. The building itself is out of the way and not something you'd find casually walking around. Parking is good and they have good wheelchair/crutches access which I note now after having been on crutches twice in two years. I wandered in expecting to just pick up my bottles and leave. But they had a small crew (masks on) there and invited us for a tasting! They kept their masks on and stayed at a distance - and they had a big space with an open garage style door so it was really safe! I was blown away especially by the Americano Bianco. It's herbaceous and just sweet enough. FULL of flavor! It is good enough to drink neat and I just made a fabulous Negroni with it at home. The standard Amaro is good but not quite as much as a stand-out to me as the Bianco. Regardless, both are well worth the price. And the company's story? Priceless. Jamie told us about their two year process in developing the recipe. And they explained how they source their ingredients, which they have gone to great lengths to procure sustainably and locally. For example, they get saffron from farmers in Chelan and worked with them to pick the exact strain that would suit the Amaro's flavor profile. This company is dealing admirably with Covid-19 restrictions and with the very strict liquor restrictions in King County/Seattle. They say they hope to have tastings outside as soon as they can get approval. I will definitely be back to support this company because of their great product, very nice people, and what appear to be phenomenal business values.
