Wow, what an experience. This is probably the second hole in a wall place that I’ve found on The Miami area. It did not disappoint at all. The staff were very friendly and I really liked that this was a black owned concept. The ribs were great as well as the Alabama White sauce. The inside is t the most spacious but there was a good flow of people dining in and picking up that we found a seat easily.

Oh yeah! I had a list of restaurants to visit while in S Florida. This was my BBQ choice. And I was NOT disappointed. I got the baby back ribs, Mac n cheese, brisket baked beans, and peach cobbler for dessert. I was able to quickly order on their kiosk. I sat down to wait and in less than 5 minutes… my order was ready. In the bag was everything I needed to dive in when I got back to where I was staying. Because I ordered ribs, I was realistic in my abilities to keep a white shirt unscathed, I also grabbed some extra napkins. The 29 minutes it took me to get back was excruciating… I may have sampled the peach cobbler at a stoplight. After dinner I had to sit back on the couch to let it settle. Tender meat that fell off the bone without being greasy or stringy. Chunks of brisket in the beans. And, tasty Mac n cheese. I finished it up with a peach cobbler that was delicious and you could taste the seasonings. Nothing bland in this meal. My only regret was not ordering the corn nuggets. I recommend eating in next time because waiting to dig in while smelling the food on the car ride was terrible.

We got the 3 piece combo meal which came with pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. We also got the chicken. All of the meat was good besides the brisket. It was quite fatty and very dry. Also I was super bummed because I wanted the fries which are on the menu, but their fryer was broken that day. So I ordered chicken wings indeed and placed the order/paid then they called my name and said I had to order something else since they didn’t have the chicken wings. I felt like everything I wanted they didn’t have. Bummer

Ive been waiting to try this place. I placed an online order for burnt ends. When i got there i was told there was no more. I got brisket instead. Its sooo dry. The mac and cheese tastes like its from a box. And the cornbread was so hard and dry i couldn’t eat it. One piece was hard as a rock. For $34 it was definitely not worth it.

Oil Drenched, Soggy bread and dry BLAND chicken. I would’ve been better of going to McDonald’s. NEVER AGAIN.. Mac n cheese tastes like jail food. Fries were horrible. I will NEVER EVER try again. Couldn’t even finish it had to toss it in the garbage where it belonged.

I did not like the fact that the person at the counter was on her phone and couldn't be bothered to help us or even great us, it was very rude. That right off the bat had me not liking the place. Also hate the fact that i had to put our order in the tablet versus being waited on. Just think that is a horrible way to do business. Had the baby back ribs and enjoyed them with the multiple options for bbq sauces it was surprisingly good. My husband had the brisket sandwich and it was also pretty good. The baked beans though had cinnamon or something else in the and did not like them at all. Once we had the food the cook checked in our us but just wish that was the greating from the beginning.

I decided one day to get delivery for American BBQ, I may have been born an American but I was not raised in a household where American style BBQ is a normal occurrence so I was pretty excited to try, let’s start with how it was, the selection was classic, and good. Anything you’d expect from a cookout was in that menu, so I settled with a half rack of ribs, quarter of chicken, Mac and cheese, and potato salad, lots of variety and it’s a good start. The delivery guy didn’t follow my instructions but I blame that more on DoorDash than anything else, and the food was still good so it’s fine. I opened to see a pretty sizable amount of food, while the meat did look a little dry, I was happy to say that it was still quite tender, while the Mac and Cheese was perfectly gooey and the potato salad had a delectable honey mustard taste. It was a feast for the eyes but also a feast for my stomach. But next time? I’m going in person.

Finally tried Fat Boyz BBQ and we're so glad we did! This completes our tour of three local BBQ joints, and Fat Boyz came out on top--especially for brisket. We ordered the brisket and pulled pork via Uber Eats (BOGO 1/4 lb for $16). The pulled pork was solid--good flavor, generous portion, and made for a hearty sandwich. But the real standout? The brisket. It was melt-in-your-mouth, tender, flaky, and full of smoky flavor. Honestly, some of the best brisket I've had--definitely my favorite out of all the local spots we've tried. Just a heads-up: the portion is small. We got half a pound for two people, and it was gone fast. Next time I'd definitely go for a full pound, especially since it doesn't come with sides (those are sold separately). It's a little pricey, but worth it for the quality. Can't wait to order again--next time, we're going big!

On January 3, 2026, my husband, daughter, and 3-year-old granddaughter entered Fat Boyz in Deerfield Beach, FL. We were not greeted, acknowledged, or assisted in any way by the employee at the counter. I clearly asked, "Do we order here and then sit down?" and was deliberately ignored. After standing there with a small child and receiving absolutely no response, we walked out. This level of disregard is unacceptable and reflects extremely poor customer service. A restaurant that cannot manage basic courtesy and attentiveness should seriously reconsider who is placed in front-of-house roles and how staff are trained. Being ignored upon entering a restaurant is unacceptable. We were prepared to order and were treated as if we didn't exist. We left immediately and will not return. Management should be aware that this type of behavior drives customers away. Who, I ask, is doing the hiring?

This is an amazing BBQ spot in South Florida - hands down! I remember when they were on Hillsboro and Powerline but love this location in Deerfield as it's on the way to the beach. And I love that it's veteran and black owned! When ordering from Fat Boyz, you have to order from a kiosk inside and there is someone to help in case you have questions. I did a to go order for a beef rib, 1/2 lb of burnt ends, 2 meat platter (chicken & smoked turkey) with cornbread and coleslaw. I also got traditional, hickory, and Carolina gold sauce. The food took about 10 mins to prepare but it was very fresh and hot. My dad raved about the beef rib and how tender the meat was. It did fall of the bone when he picked it up. The burnt ends were meaty and had a great amount of fat coated in seasoning. My mom and I shared the 2 meat platter and wow. The smoked turkey was juicy and had a light smoky flavor to it. The chicken was very juicy and coated in this signature seasoning that was finger licking good for real! The coleslaw was not too sweet and very good and I am not a coleslaw fan at all. The cornbread was thick and very moist. Overall, between the three of us the portion size was very good and hefty.

Great BBQ! Always look forward to a stop here for a wonderful experience. Today I ordered the Pulled Pork and beans Tender pork and with a little of the Old Hickory sauce, it was deeeelicious! Will keep coming back for more of the friendly service and great side dishes!

Had a craving for ribs so I went to Yelp and Fat Boyz was #1. I always trust my Yelp friends and they were right again! Great Ribs!!! Placed an order online for a full rack of St. Louis ribs. It was so easy and they were ready on time. The ribs were meaty. The rub on them was excellent and they were smoked perfectly. Could have used some more barbecue sauce and I wasn't a fan of the one included. I saw other ones on the tables when I went to pick up but they weren't in with the order. Luckily I had some at home. I want to go back. There's a nice lunch special Monday - Thursday and now that I'm part of the loyalty program I get $5 off for every 100 spent...that's a win in my book!

The best BBQ in all of Palm Beach County! You should try their Brisket and smoked Turkey is the best there. Food always comes out quickly ,always consistent.. The place is not big and you place your own order.

Visiting Florida with my In-laws....since we are from Texas & love BBQ found the closest BBQ joint we could find. In our opinion, This family-owned place is a winner!! First day we had just some baby back ribs and jerk ribs, both were really good the Jerk ribs not spicy at all but flavorful. Had the Granmaws collard greens yes please! Also the beans were really good, a little sweet but perfectly seasoned with bits of brisket. Also had the Burnt ends, yummy! Service is different as you order from a kiosk pad at the front counter, but if you need help Shantal (spelling?) will help. Small place but plenty of tables and chairs. So here is the real review, we returned two days later and ordered more ribs and chicken and sausage (it's regular Texas small links), brisket (we wanted fatty but got lean, still really good). This is how good it is. We will be back in November to enjoy next round of Florida BBQ. They also have 4 types of BBQ sauce, Carolina (not for us), hickory, spicy and regular sauce. We loved the spicy sauce. The menu has catfish and pulled pork and hamburgers and a plethora of other things. They also have flavored teas I wish I had tried but maybe next time. Delicious in our opinion.

The food and service is excellent! We will be coming back again soon. Got a 3 meat sampler, brisket, pulled pork and baby back ribs with fries and Mac n cheese sides. Everything was delicious and the bbq sauces were tasty

Out of brisket. No fried chicken. Cranky woman taking orders. Spare me! Its 6:00. Switched to ribs and burgers: 3 adults, 1 child=$107 Say What???

Got a chance to try Fat Boyz when their food truck was brought in for a community event. Staff was quick, courteous, & pleasant. Sampled Fat Boyz chicken, ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese. Meats were very smokey and tender. I enjoyed the ribs the most as they were very meaty & tender. Baked beans were hearty, and macaroni and cheese was good. Only tried their "spicy" BBQ sauce, and there was not spice to it at all, until the second day! Would certainly visit a Fat Boyz restaurant if looking for a good BBQ meal. Check them out!

By for the most unprofessional restaurant in South Florida, rude unprofessional! It's ashamed the food is great but they can't manage the bathroom much less a restaurant! In my opinion Fire the lady that's a cashier! Zero personality and absolutely no idea what she is doing! Rude rude rude never order food from them that's being delivered because after 3 o'clock, forget about it !

Food is always great! Brisket was soooo tender. Great flavor. Loved the smoked turkey. Candy yams and Mac and cheese were our sides. A1. Great service and always friendly.

I used to be a regular here. However in the last month or two the bbq chicken has gone completely downhill. It used to be fairly moist and the sauce was decent. But it now is dry and crumbly - really quite awful. I wrote to the pitmaster to ask what had happened and never heard back. I know good bbq - I spent 10 years in Texas - and this is really not it. My recommendation - stay away.

We live locally and have been searching for a good BBQ place in the neighborhood. We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and were lucky to find a table as there were a lot of people ordering and also a lot of take out. This same business was once located on Jog Rd near Hillsboro in a little caboose. I first went there several years ago and found their bbq to be excellent. I didn't realize they moved to this location until recently and I'm glad to see they are still in business. The inside is small (but bigger than the caboose LOL) and nothing fancy; outside are a couple of crooked tables with a street view. We ordered at one of the kiosks and the dinners were delivered to our table quickly. Everyone working there were busy and all were all very friendly. Together we had the St Louis Ribs, Beef Brisket, collards, mac and cheese, fries and potato salad. The Brisket was great, tender and moist. The ribs had a good BBQ flavor but were a little dry for my taste. We loved the potato salad..the other sides were average. Was hoping for the mac and cheese and collards to wow us. I will definitely be back for the brisket and am anxious to try their chicken. It was very good at the old location. I will also order the ribs again, maybe the baby backs next time. The beans and sweet potatoes are also on my list for next time sides! Parking is easy in the shopping center and we were lucky to get a spot out front. Prices were as expected for bbq at these times. Being older, I am always surprised at restaurant and food prices today. Also found the kiosk a bit annoying but as I said, I am older.

Decent barbecue I was sad they were out of burnt ends. The sides were OK and the price was good.

Went to the Deerfield location a few times and today was definitely the last time I support this business. Food is just okay, nothing amazing. What definitely looses them stars is that NASTY ATTITUDE! The cook brought our order, no smile, no enjoy, just a mean stare like we're annoying him by eating there or existing. Asked him for a fountain cup (which are stacked behind the counter) and he gave us a long stare down and made a point to walk as slowly as possible to go get the cup, then kinda slammed it on our table (we still said thank you) and instead of saying "you're welcome" or "enjoy" he just gave us another stare like "I'm not here to serve you" but he is, he literally works in a restaurant! I think he's the owner on top of that! He looks like he just got released from jail like an hour ago with his pants hanging below his ass and he would rather nobody bothers him at his business. He's got better things to do than serve food and take your money. Don't bother the poor man.

I reluctantly gave this bbq restaurant another try after a bad experience a year ago The order took 20 minutes longer and complaints were plentiful in the dining room The pork sandwich was extremely dry and the chicken was hard and dry I'm NOT RETURNING!!

I'm from Chicago, so when I seen rib tips on the menu...I Had To Try Them. BIG disappointment, they Dry as hell, over cooked & definitely not worth the price. I can't stop shaking my head at the rib tips they sent me. Just terrible Dry, overcooked & horrible for 20 bucks Don't waste your time & the Brisket is no better

Service was terrible. They mixed up my order and acted annoyed with me when I pointed it out. Food itself was decent, but they also forgot the sauces I specifically asked for. Overall disappointing experience.

The woman at the front desk, awesome lady, the food, dry old lack of pizzazz. The ribs were very dry. Very minimal flavor we had Brisket. It was dry like pasty old baked beans were good, but felt like it was like the bottom of the bucket the best thing on the plate no, no hands down the coleslaw.

Sooo good! I've been driving by this place for a while now I finally stopped in to check it out. I got a brisket platter with rice and pigeon peas and the candied yams. The brisket was so tender and good flavor. With the rice and pigeon peas was a great combo. The yams were fire! I also got some burnt ends they were so tasty. Got everything to go and they put 2 different bbq sauces in there. Both were amazing and plenty for both dishes. It was so much food for me I saved half for the next day. It was like good old home cooking. The lady that took care of me was so sweet and recommended the yams to me. Reasonable pricing for all that you get. I'll be back soon!

This place was phenomenal! Along with having top-notch barbecue, staff were very attentive. I 100% recommend you swing by for lunch or dinner.

Fat Boyz used to be one of those places that made you proud to live nearby -- back when they were on Hillsborough and Powerline. The kind of spot you'd tell your out-of-town friends about: "Oh, you haven't lived until you've had their barbecue." There was warmth, smoke in the air, and smiles behind the counter. I don't know what happened -- new ownership, bad day, alien abduction -- but whatever spark they had has vanished. I paid $33 for smoked turkey, sausage, collard greens, and coleslaw. The collards snd coleslaw were the stars of the show (bless them for staying true), but the turkey... mercy. It was so dry I started wondering if they'd cooked it during a drought and it absorbed the atmosphere. Halfway through, I realized I should've ordered a side of gravy and a medical alert bracelet. Thank goodness I had a drink, otherwise, the next sound out of me would've been performing a Heimlich on myself.. But the real kicker? When I popped back in to refill my drink -- the same drink from their free refill fountain -- I was told, with a tone that could curdle buttermilk, "Only for people who dine in." Ma'am, I assure you, no one is "dining" here. We're surviving. I sat there thinking how this used to be a place with heart, where the barbecue had soul and the staff had kindness to spare. Now it feels like both got smoked right out of the building. I'll always have fond memories of the Fat Boyz that was -- the juicy meat, the laughter, the good vibes. But the new version? Let's just say the only thing getting thinner around here is my patience...No joy. No manners. And certainly no moisture -- which, last I checked, was kind of a thing for barbecue. The only consolation? I'll be a skinny girl now... because I no longer eat Fat Boyz.

The food is always spot on at Fat Boyz! I love their collards and sweet potato's! The service is always great and the employees are accommodating and very helpful. It's small inside but clean. My fav BBQ in South Florida.

This is the $33 two meat combo. Extremely small which was kind of OK since the meat was so dry anyways. They ask you to tip even though you order off a screen yourself.

First couple of times we ate here everything was quite good. Disappointed this time. Service was subpar, and unfriendly for the most part. It is a bit difficult to order on their new electronic kiosks. In fact, we received a couple of sides that we did not order and had to exchange them. Both of us had the St. Louis ribs and they were essentially cold and dry. We will give this one more try to see if things improve.

Ample free parking, fast friendly service! Tasty brisket, corn nuggets & Candy Yam! Cute dining room, nicely decorated walls, big windows and few outdoor tables. They also have sandwiches, they sell by the pound as well. I recommend the lunch specials which are served Monday- Thursday. The portions are small for what you pay. They have to something about the flys as well.

You could return one of my 50 phone calls about the horse meat that you sold me and refund me like I was promised but you haven't done a thing.

Clean, convenient and super delicious. This spot was great. It's old school BBQ with new technology. They have a tablet to order on. The Ribs needed no sauce. Awesome flavor. The greens and corn bread were very good. Great spot

Wasn't bad. I had a brisket sandwich that was good. The cuts of meat were good and lean. The sauce was tasty. Unfortunately, my mom's chicken and my wife's brisket tacos came out cold. (The fries were super hot, so maybe they were waiting for the fries to cold and the rest got cold?) The tea wasn't great. The unsweetened had an off-taste to it and the sweet was way too much for me. Wasn't a horrible visit.

Great BBQ! Came in on a Thursday and now it's Saturday night and the leftovers taste as delicious as when I received them on Thursday heated up. No Kidding! Hot Links, Brisket and pulled pork just delicious and juicy with flavor. I'm still a fan! I forgot about those delicious ST Louis rack of ribs. As good as those Memphis famous spots. Personally I like this spot the best. Great ribs! I tell them this every time I visit! We laugh together but it's true!

Stopped in Tuesday night at friend really wanted bbq. The place is in a little shopping center so can be missed. I will say they def have the smoke part down. You could def taste it in the meat. Overall I'd say it was average though. The chicken was the best part, nice and juicy. The ribs were not fall off the bone but had a good taste to them. The brisket was dry and not really moist. I loved it was lean and just wish it was juicy. The corn was good. The Mac and cheese too dry for me and didn't have anything to it. The sweet tea they make is def some good tea although don't test your sugar afterward. Price point is not the cheapest but this is bbq so you can't expect that. I'll give the lunch a try again to see if I change my opinion for the better. The staff was super nice and friendly

This place is insanely delicious. I'm from out of town in a 'good-bbq desert' and so we went three times in 6 days! Yummmmmmm.

I've heard plenty about this food truck/restaurant spot so I was excited to try. The truck was parked outside and there is an actual restaurant. The place is nice and small, but good size for you to dine in or out. I ordered to go. Service was good; not a long wait to order. It seemed a lot of people pre-ordered. The food took about 20 minutes to come out. I had lemon pepper wings, St. Louis ribs, Mac and cheese, and plantains. Delicious! It was great. I had a lot of food, enough for leftovers. I'll definitely be back to try sandwiches and different sides.

Jarael Holston-Jones and his wife Yolanda are a local business success story. Jarael graduated from Blanche Ely High and served in the army. He started with one BBQ food truck and turned it into restaurants employing people in the community. A couple of Fat Boys restaurants have since opened and closed. At one point they had a crab boil restaurant in Pompano. I am a huge fan of Fat Boyz and have seen the couple in their restaurants many times smiling and chatting with customers. If they aren't there when you visit you can always find a picture of them hanging on the wall. The last time I was at Fatz Boyz it was in their Pompano Beach restaurant on Cypress Creek right before Dixie Hwy. They have opened and closed several restaurants since I have been following their culinary journey. My friend and I were discussing places to meet up for lunch that had specials and she mentioned that Fat Boyz had opened in a new location in Deerfield Beach. Their flagship Deerfield location closed awhile ago. I have been missing their mac and cheese so we decided to meet for lunch. Fat Boys has taken over the restaurant formerly occupied by Charlie's Fish Fry. Close to Charm City Burgers it looks like a good spot for them. The restaurant is small but there are a couple of tables out front too. They have a number of lunch specials including pulled pork and chopped chicken sandwiches, brisket shorts rib burger, and the rib tip lunch special I had with the maca and cheese. I also took a the quarter chicken lunch special to go. The food is always great here and I love their sweet BBQ sauce. They have some interesting drink options like birch beer but I always gravitate to their sweet tea. I didn't get the corn nuggets this time but they are always a favorite. It was nice to revisit their barbecue and the lunch specials are great value. I wish them the best of luck in their new location.

If you like BBQ you're in the right place. Always a full plate and great flavor. I have been several times and never disappointed. I usually get a 2 meat combo and the brisket every time. They have everything from pulled chicken/pork, several styles of ribs, rib tips and I believe turkey. They even do seafood here! I will say it does take some time to get your food to dine in or take away. It's BBQ that's how it is. Come patient. It takes some time to BBQ. They also have desserts at times and new menu items all the time. Enjoy!

Today - April 27, 2025 The woman overseeing the dine-in area was so rude, we left without ordering. Normal questions were treated as a bother to her. Good luck with a poor employee turning a customer to a non-customer!

We had an excellent lunch here. We were familiar with the location so it was easy to get to. They have their own parking lot at the stand alone building. It's on the south side of Hillsboro on the corner. We'd loved their bbq at their original location in Coral Springs -- when they were open there. This spot is equally as good. The menu is located on the wall. You order and pay at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Drinks are self serve. They have a number of lunch specials and we ordered from that list. The lunch includes a drink and one side. I got their rib tips with candied yams. The rib tips require a bit of eating by hand as they are chopped up pieces of ribs. You eat the meat from around the bone, etc. Although served between two large slices of Texas toast, it's not a sandwich. The ribs were fantastic. I didn't even need to add one of the 3 sauces provided. I took half my order home along with one piece of the toast. The candied yams were delicious. I'm thinking they use honey to sweeten them. I ate every bit of them right there. My husband had their pulled pork sandwich. He added their spicy bbq sauce to it. He said the meat was tender and tasty. He had baked beans as his side. He liked both. For drinks, he had the peach iced tea -- which he highly recommended. I had the red birch beer soda. Prices for lunch specials were quite reasonable. We can't wait to return.

Well, Valentine's Day and BBQ go together like ice cream and waffles, surprisingly well! The meat by the 1/2 pound or pound is what I did. Felt a little South Carolina and got 1/2 pound pulled pork. It was salty and smoky with the right sauce and sliced white bread. Damn good. Next the whole slab baby backs were done just a bit over done but in their defense I got the days last slab. Having said all that, they were still delicious. NOW, the burnt tips, these were THE BEST THINGS WE HAD off the menu. They were charred to perfection. They were tender and fatty, there were EFFING delicious and went really well with their greens and sliced white bread. A true down to earth restaurant with and awesome, friendly staff. I feel like family every time I go. So, GO!

If you're seeking a high-end restaurant with a stunning location, this place might not meet your expectations. However, if you're in the mood for outstanding BBQ, this joint is a must-visit. The entire menu is impressive. My wife and I often opt for the two-meat combo with ribs. It's fantastic. If possible, I'd rate it six stars..

On vacation and went to the cypress location. Food was outstanding, service was attentive. Always will be choice when I visit. Mondisa G

The brisket had a great smoke ring and it was moist and tasty! The baked beans were delicious and so was the coleslaw! The barbecue sauces were also good. The sweet tea was truly sweet tea! Give them a try!

Still great - we go weekly for our protein fix and it never disappoints. This place is just over the bridge between Deerfield Beach and Route 1 in The Cove. Always nicely air conditioned as well.

Ordered delivery through Doordash. Dasher was waiting for the order at the restaurant for quite a while. She apologized upon arrival, but it was not her fault at all. Past the delivery time on the restaurants end. Food was all great. Their baked beans were different than others I've had. Very good though. I also got the Mac Daddy which is a pork sandwich with mac and cheese on top. 2 bbq sauces came on the side. 1 was more of a mustard bbq. Boyfriend got the burnt ends and said it was good as well.

I did take out but their food is so good !! Had pulled pork with brisket Omgish so good !!! With Mac and cheese and the yams!!! Also side of coleslaw everything was great !!! Definitely would eat there again service was super fast !!!

First time trying the fried porkchop, which had a crunchy crust without drying out the meat. Flavor was there and is a definite reorder. The corn nuggets were ordered on a whim, but they were really good. Get them for your kids and they'll love them...crispy and a bit sweet. The pulled pork lacked no smoke...I used the Carolina mustard bbq sauce with it, but to each his own taste. I wish they made a vinegar and hot sauce bbq mix for it, because it would be "peas and carrots".
