Where to Drink Manhattans in Las Vegas in 2024 | Eater

"Fat Cat is one of the newest additions to Downtown Las Vegas, serving up cocktails and live music in a quirky, character-rich environment at the Downtown Grand. Founded by Russell Gardner (the force behind cult tiki bar Red Dwarf), the lounge welcomes jazz and blues performers to an intimate stage, along with DJs spinning vinyl in a welcome old-school touch. The menu has charcuterie, fresh-baked focaccia bread, and a lineup of signature cocktails with bartenders always ready to make an Angel’s Envy Manhattan upon request." - Vox Creative

The Cat Cat nightclub inside the Grand Hotel downtown Las Vegas. Just two blocks from the Fremont Experience. This place has live music & comedy. The music they have is blues, jazz, oldies and other styles. Very cool vibe and friendly employees. Their soundman makes sure the music sounds great. Parking is in their garage and Make sure to keep the garage parking ticket with you to have it validated at the club or the Grand Hotel.

Absolutely incredible experience. This is the gold standard for a Jazz Cocktail Lounge. Cozy eclectic furniture, great drinks, and incredible music. The staff is friendly and attentive. Felt like a scene out of La La Land. A must visit.

Went here pretty soon after opening so no music but just came here to try the food and drinks since I’m a huge fan of red dwarf. I’m still gonna give it five stars since I love the snacks and the drinks are innovative. They aren’t just repeats of standards or the same ones as red dwarf. So it’s a new experience. I wouldn’t place it about the OG, because, pizza, but this is defenitly something I would come back to on freemont when I’m here! And so should you!

Amazing bar! The daily live music is of a high quality and it’s nice to be able to pop in without having to pay an entrance fee. It’s not a massive place but there’s a good amount of seating and the menu has some great cocktails, many created with drama too, and the prices for the draught beers are really reasonable. Sometimes it was possible to get table service, but on other nights the staff were insisting on bar service only, but the atmosphere was brilliant and being open late into the night makes it a wonderful venue in the area.

SO much fun, a hidden gem just off Fremont! Had a lovely talk with the owner who is originally from Chicago, and as a fellow midwesterner, I loved the vibe she brought to her establishment as well as Vegas itself! We were in town to see a friend perform, and it was a great space for music lovers, plus we enjoyed the DELICIOUS drinks and tasty snacks (the cheese on the cheese board was amazing)! Service was very personal, and table service was so nice since we didn't have to get up during the set! Next time we're in Vegas we will definitely be going back <3

Great place for that local jazz feel. The band that played while we were they were awesome and had that old school big band vibe. Think Aristacats. Kitty, the bar tender (Yes, that's her name) was great too! Very much recommend if this is your kind of thing.

Went here on a Thursday night. The place is small, but lots of charm. The seating was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. On this night, a band named Groove Culture Band was playing. They sounded great. Highly recommend.

What an amazing spot! My husband and I had the most incredible drinks here after visiting the Mob Museum across the street. The atmosphere is "chill" + "funky.... If there is such a thing it is defined here. The music is a perfect pair to my throwback drink with a unique twist. The bartenders are fun and quite the skilled Jedi Knights at what they do. Kate rocks! And made the best specialty bourbon drink with some added local treasures at my request. Check out this place! We will be returning the next time in town!

Yelp
I wanted to come here for a while now and it was worth the wait. The drinks here were amazing the bartender was fast and always very attentive and the band was supper cool and fun. The music was excellent and they played for about 2 hours or so. They were engaging with the crowd asking for a genre and adjetive to kind of improvise. I had a blast definitely coming back soon.

Yelp
Very cool ambiance. Came for a few minutes before dinner. Had drinks and listened to the band. Good times!

Yelp
4 Stars Such a charming little jazz bar! The ambiance was cozy and intimate--perfect for a relaxed night out. The drinks were well-made, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We were especially looking forward to the live music, which was fantastic once it started! The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because we were told the music would start at 9:45 PM, but it didn't kick off until later, which threw off our plans a bit. Still, once it got going, it was well worth the wait. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
A very cool and laid back bar located at the rear of the Downtown Grand Hotel . The bar has a speakeasy- jazz cool vibe. We stumbled upon Fat Cat LV in the afternoon as we were looking for the snack vending machines at the Grand. I had a refreshing vodka tonic. The friendly bartender said that a small band and vocalist can be heard and enjoyed in the evenings playing something similar to jazz - blues in an Amy Winehouse style. There are cool newspaper clippings and jazzy- blues posters from the depression era to the last mid- century.. a chill ambiance! Small plate appetizers can also be called up and enjoyed. Next time I find myself in Las Vegas, I will stumble upon this place in the evening.

Yelp
Were you looking for a new genre of hidden gems? I believe the hotel bar is the newest category to become a hot spot. What is typically just a place to use a company per diem or witness a transactional date, is now a place to get a taste of local music and curated drinks. Meet the coolest hotel bar you've ever been to! If I was staying at the Grand and happened upon this place, I'd be so stoked. This is a real treat and such a well thought out venue. If you want a taste of what local Vegas can do, this is the spot. Live music, burlesque, other local entertainers, and just some great bar selections it doesn't get any better. This is the same owner as Red Dwarf and if you know the beer scene here, you know that Russel didn't slack on the beer list. The atmosphere is cool, curated, and welcoming. I'll be keeping an eye on their show list, can't wait to go back

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed the music and band. However, the service, drinks and nibble offerings need a major overall. - $16 for Espresso martini w\ no espresso. The stemware is the wrong vessel - $14 for a cheese and meat bites. No crackers or bread for the spreadable cheese on the plate. The olives are no good. This is an easy fix and needs attention. I told the server, but she said I'm sorry to hear this and left it on the bill. This place has so much potential, but won't last if you don't fix the service, drink offerings and food options.

Yelp
Live music and great drinks make Fat Cat and easy pick for a night out. The service is good, we just went up to the bar for our drinks. The seating is okay - it's a small intimate space. The music was a little on the loud side because it is live so it makes conversation a bit of a challenge but as long as you know what you are going into - the evening will be a blast.

Yelp
So I feel like this is going to be an unfair review because I actually didn't go during the time where it was up and running, I came when they were basically just opening so there really wasn't a live band in music. I feel like it deserves another chance! I love any spot that does jazz and a live fashion and this was it. It's an old Vegas so you have to go through the Grand hotel to get to it if you want to stay on the inside but it's definitely worth it. The bar has a lot of older things there like vinyls and things like that on the wall for decorations which is pretty cool. I had a few drinks, to drinks are somewhat reason to be priced so don't worry about that. But I feel like it would have definitely shined if it had been night time and they had had a band but they only have music on certain time. So you kind of get what you get. But, it is a old school jazz club kind of vibe to it, so you'll definitely enjoy it if you're into that! So because of the good customer service and the description of the place and the drinks in the camaraderie that was formed with the bartenders, I'm still going to give it a really decent score but I really need to see the music so I have to put that on my list of things to do but I'm looking forward to it.

Yelp
We were staying at the grand for the weekend and came across this little hideaway bar inside our hotel. I love the ambience to this bar. We actually came here twice. Once the first night then the second night they had a band playing on stage. This bar is owned by a local so we fully support it!! So the drinks made here are sooooo goood. They are very minimal is beer selection but we managed. We wanted to come again for New Year's Eve but it was closed. We'll be back again though in the future because it was well worth it:) enjoy my pics!!

Yelp
This place is a chill blues and jazz lounge. The decor is swanky and comfortable. No food is available, but the drinks are on point. The only complaint I have is the drink I wanted to order wasn't available and there was only one active bar tender. Otherwise I would definitely return to watch more bands play and sip on fancy cocktails. The price for cocktails is $16 for the fancy ones.

Yelp
This is a fantastic venue. Great jazz club in Las Vegas. You should definitely check it out. Top notch live jazz. They also have a burlesque show some nights. I highly recommend this place and the level of relent they bring in.

Yelp
I loved this place. The singer and band were fantastic!! The cocktails were delicious and they have several options. My favorite was the Naked in Manhattan. They even had a seasonal drink menu too. The food is a bit underwhelming, it literally is just snacks, but it was good. We essentially got breadsticks with a yummy garlic balsamic vinegar sauce. Once you sat at the table the server came just enough to make sure we were good but not in a way that was annoying. I will definitely return. I loved sitting there and listening to the music. For some bands they do have a $5 cover fee you pay before going inside.

Yelp
Great Jazz club near Fremont (across from the Mob Museum) great music, cool vibe and tasty treats. A nice balance to the hustle of the "Fremont experience"

Yelp
Great bands and the bartender was fantastic! It has an easy access exit so you don't have to walk all the way through the casino. Love it!

Yelp
I was enjoying the burlesque show until the dancer "Neon" decided to read a part of an adult book. I'm no prude, but the entire passage was literally about a "daddy" and a "little girl". Honestly disgusting. I was disturbed by the entire thing. There are so many other categories of adult literature and this is what they decide to work into their program? Did they ever consider that anyone in their audience may have been assaulted by their father in their childhood and traumatized by what was being read? Seriously, choose better next time.

Yelp
Stopped in here as they were opening. What a great spot! It has a cool and comfortable vibe. James the bartender was friendly and talented. He made me the Chubby Kitty. It's a smoky bourbon drink and I could taste the smoke! My husband ordered the Jazz Hands and that was delicious too. There was a jazz band setting up that I couldn't stay to see, I will be back to check that out!

Yelp
This bar was super fun! We went to see a performance one night but the service was exceptional! The people that work there made me feel at home. They greeted us, so friendly! We got good seats for the show because we were there early, we were given water right away! The drink menu is unique and exciting! I ordered the sage drink, it was cool because it was even smoky at the top, but the taste over all was too sagey for me... but it was fun to try something different. We also ordered a charcuterie but it was smaller than we thought it would be. But it was nice to have something to snack on with my drinks so can't complain! Plus the cheeses were good. Anyway, I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Umm can i say what i quaint place! The service was amazing. No matter who we ran to lots of conversation. There was one bar tender in training but she was trying her best and if you have no patience because the reality of life is patience then you have no patience for shhhh......it was recommended we have the focaccia bread just amazing and on happy hour! Made by a local in LV. How do you not support. If you aren't doing the locals then what are you doing they make life! Owner said she has a sister bar red dwarf where they have events etc. This place had live music after 9. Happy hour from 5-8 which is not your usual hh and the well we arent talking popovf well. Just saying we had an amazing time here!
