Me. And my wife have been here before. In the past, when he used to do burnt ends. Which? Were delicious we were in the mood for some barbecue today and let me tell you it was delicious. Definitely. I recommend their rib tips. And their brisket

First time ordering food from this restaurant, I ordered the pulled pork tacos. They were delicious not over seasoned. And the additional topping we’re a nice complement to the pulled pork definitely would order them again in the future.

The delivery order (Brisket, ribs, loaded potatoes, barbecue beans, and soft roll) was worth the delivery fee. The food was packaged well and tasted delicious.

First time here food was really good nice size portions of food I recommend the ribs so on point moist fall off the bone great place to have a family day out

(Aug 2024) Pulled pork, ribs, and onion rings was good. I liked the sauces on the briskets. The back outdoor patio was nice but was still blazing hot from the heat outside. I feel like the heat was intensified by the sun reflecting off the parked cars or from the roof gathering it. Staff was nice to bring some water for our dogs. Service was quick but, just to note, they were originally reluctant for us to be in the back patio since it wasn't set up.

Staff and atmosphere were great. A bit pricey but the portions were decent. Junk Nachos were $15 and okay. Three meat plate cost $39.99, but the meat was luke warm and bit flavorless. Couldn't stand alone without sauce and the meat was dry. Didn't seem like it came right of the grill, like it was sitting in a tray for awhile. Mac was below average. Potato Salad was ok more on the sweeter side. We were full when we left. But don't think they we may go back (an hour drive for us).

Either you're going to love this place or it's a once and done. Everything tastes fresh and is made to order. You won't find a pool of grease on your plate, just fresh ingredients. There was a lack of flavor in everything I ate. Even the tri-tip was bland and not tender. The mac and cheese and chili were hot, but flavorless. If you prefer your food on the bland side, this is your type of barbecue restaurant. Perhaps, I didn't order the right item on the menu. I would recommend the restaurant thinly slice their meat to make it more tender. This is not a good date spot, because there's nothing to do to prolong the date.

It was good my only negative thing I would have to say is that they need to add MORE bbq sauce. Idk if there rationing or what but please add a more to the meats.

Bbq was good a little pricey. Three of us and the bill came $80 plus tip staff was nice

Fat City is the absolute best BBQ in the entire area. What makes it extra special though is the family who runs it. The owner Don makes everyone feel like family and you can tell he has put his heart and soul into his business. This isn't just a BBQ place, they have incredible variety on their menu. I love their garlic tots, grilled cheese and street tacos. My husband loves their brisket and their wings. We stop in whenever we can to have some delicious food and support this amazing family. I highly recommend stopping in here and giving them a try, You won't be disappointed.

OK so I'm kinda obsessed with their BBQ sauces and fries! Sandwiches are pretty spot on. Loved the pulled chicken sandwich. I was pretty bummed with the portion size of the fries. As good as they are you would really think you would get just a few more. Onion rings on the other hand are huge and drinks are refillable. Parking lot is in the back as well as the entrance. Not the best location for huge parties and zero booths. Lots of tables and bar top.

No bbq sauce except for sugar rays at a barbecue place. What else can I say? It has potential to be so much more except limited by the location and menu

Met a couple friends here for lunch. I had ribs with coleslaw and chili. Service was good, cool place. Ribs had really good smoke flavor. They were so tender and well seasoned I did not sauce them. Coleslaw was crunchy and delicious. Chili beans were great. One of the guys had a brisket sandwich, gone. Other guy had tri tip and chicken, gone. I'm picky about my bbq, this place is awesome.

Best BBQ, tried the Brisket Philly today with Mac & Cheese. Man oh man a must try when you come out to Stockton, support the local small businesses.

Ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of onion rings. Bread is nice and soft, meat is tender, onion rings amazing. Just disappointed because menu said it was slathered in BBQ sauce and it was not. I was also asked if I wanted a side of ranch and never got that in my order either. Not a big deal but if it says it on the menu it and an employee offers ranch it should be up to par. Especially if you want customers to return on a struggling local restaurant. Thankfully I had my own ranch and bbq sauce at home so it made up for that.

If you're looking for an absolutely delicious bbq spot, this is it! The meat is marinated perfectly. The ribs fell off the bone. The meat wasn't dry either! You just get giant slabs of meat with sides for an affordable price. I also tried the sandwich and left so full. The service was quick and everyone checked in on you to make sure you're doing alright. It was a very family friendly ambiance and even had claw arcade games. I would definitely make the trip back out here!

We love this place! Service is always great and the food tastes amazing. The ribs and a nice cold beer hit the spot.

Over the years these guys have really improved so much. They held a yelp event here a couple of months ago and that got them back on my radar after not visiting for some time. Their BBQ burger topped with brisket and bacon is probably my favorite burger so far in the 209. As for the meats, don't sleep on their smoked turkey. It's sooooo moist and tender. Even if you're not big on turkey I'd highly recommend it. Anyways I'd consider them an area rating of a 5/5.

What a hidden gem in Stockton. Some coworkers sent me pictures about a year ago and told me how amazing it was. I had to go check it out on my trip out there this time. The brisket and smoked chicken were delicious, I really liked how it looked inside, typical BBQ joint lol. Staff were all very helpful too.

This is the place if you're looking for a delicious bbq spot. The service was so friendly and fast. This place is clean and has a cool vibe. Let me tell you about that brisket ! It was delicious and that bbq flavor was so good.

I really wanted to like this place but wow this is one of the worst BBQ foods I've ever tried. I spent 60$ for a 3-way meat plate that consisted of ribs, tri-tip, and brisket with Mac n cheese, chili beans, potato salad, and a cornbread muffin. The food was so bland I refuse to believe it's not cafeteria food. There was hardly any meat on the ribs, mostly fat. Although the food wasn't dry it had no real flavor without the little BBQ sauce cups they gave us. Also, the tomatoes in the chili are diabolical! Sadly, there wasn't one thing from my meal I enjoyed. The only reason why I'm giving two stars is because the kitchen didn't mess up my order but unfortunately messed up my taste buds. The service was decent, and the dine-in area looked like a nice place to eat some BBQ. I think the restaurant is in a really good area for business and has the potential to become one of the best BBQ places in town if the owner starts valuing the quality of the food by adding seasoning and fixing their menu options.

Damn. This place is a gem in stockton. The meats were ALL so tender. I don't think I could ever forget how the brisket tasted like. The people here were so friendly and helpful. They showed us everything on the menu and recommended their favorites! Looking forward to getting more of their food in the near future!

my significant other has come here with his work group on a regular basis numerous times, but this was my first time. I was not disappointed, and by the time I finished my lunch, I had a definitive understanding of why they always choose this establishment. The ambience was casual yet welcoming and the staff were extraordinarily kind and helpful. The food was absolutely fantastic. I could have eaten an entire plate of just fries if I would've been allowed to get away with it lol. The sandwich was so yummy and filling. I actually ended up taking half of it home and snacking on it later... It was so yummy. It didn't make it too long though lol. he had the rib sandwich and was nice enough to give me a bite. I enjoyed his as well, but the turkey sandwich was definitely my favorite. I truly enjoyed it, it was packed full of flavor, but not overbearing. I will most definitely be back. Decent prices, amazing service and even better food; no complaints here

I decided to swing by Fat City for dinner and came away impressed with the service and food. I went with a Hot Link Taco, Pulled Pork Sandwich and Chili Beans. The Pulled Pork was my favorite of the three and the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce really set it off. Look forward to coming back and trying something new.

Where do I begin I could give a MILLON STARS if that was an option. Being from Pleasanton my search for catering began months ago. I called Trina and she walked me through my options for delivery and menu choices to celebrate our graduating seniors. The Brisket was so flavorful and the Mac and cheese was a hit. Our students who are vegetarians loved the GINORMOUS baked potatoes with the vegetarian chili. The rolls were soft and complemented the Brisket perfectly. I recieved many complements on the tasty bbq sauce. Most importantly the food was delivered piping hot and ready to serve. My volunteers were excited to receive a bottle of Fat City Chardonnay....One for them and 3 for me! The staff and communication with my serive at Fat City was above and beyond. Thank you to everyone at Fat City for making our celebration so memorable. One last thing about Fat City ..Their location is great for dinning in or take out.

5 Stars! Best tasting ribs, thick, juicy, and so good! Hubby got the brisket sandwich. Also very good. Juicy & delicious! Place to go for BBQ!

At a party I attended they had these guys cater the food. I normally am not a bbq person, much less eat brisket. The brisket was delicious very well seasoned. I had two big slices if I wasn't on my eternal diet or full I would have went for seconds and thirds. If I'm ever back in the Stockton area I will stop by their restaurant and have more brisket!

Good food, good service, and now they get a 8 out of 10 review ‼‼ I suggest you give them a try sooner than later‼‼

2/2/24 - Sorry to say that my stellar reviews of my past visits have now been cancelled!!! When I walked in I was quickly greeted by a cashier/server. She didn't waste any time by telling me that they had sold out of the tri-tip. I guess she could tell by the look on my face that is what I came for and YES it was!! I asked for a menu anyway to see what else I could order and was hoping that they have added some more items, but same menu. So, since I have never tried their brisket I ordered a brisket sandwich with onion rings and a soda. You pay when you order and it came up to $24.+. There were two customers seated and one at the bar so it was a very quiet restaurant. My meal came very quick and I couldn't wait to bite into my sandwich. I did, and it was tasty but I needed more sauce so I grabbed two from the table next to me, one sweet & tangy the other Chipotle. I opened my sandwich to add the sauce and at first it looked good, but something told me to look at it again and when picked up the other half of the first piece I ate it was nothing but fat on the other end. I picked up the other two slices and more of the same. I could have screamed, it was all fat, then I picked up the second half and it was all fat, nothing was trimmed off. I should have said something when the waiter asked me if everything was okay, I didn't!!! I was quietly furious and didn't want to cause a scene or let other customers who just sat down within hearing distance know of my dissatisfaction!!! I drank the little bit of soda I had and left. I was so disappointed I just sat in my car for a few minutes and I had completely lost my appetite, I wasn't going home, so I needed to eat something but I just couldn't, appetite ruined for the evening!!! I am glad I put something in my stomach at 10:30a, or I would've eaten all day!!!! Now it's either almost five or a little after. It has been a while since I have been here, the theater was still across the street, because I have been busy with my grandchildren. I could bring my grandson here and he would be happy, but my granddaughter is very picky and she wouldn't eat. Now, I don't know when I will feel like visiting again. Sad!!!

Excellent and friendly service. Amazing and super delicious barbecue! We ordered their special for the day, a brisket burger, thinking it would only be brisket between 2 buns. But no! We were surprised to see a hamburger topped with crisped onions, juicy bits of brisket and cheese. It was a towering size that we did not expect! Needless to say, we did not finish it, but every bite was so yummy! The good news is that we had leftovers later, so we can enjoy it again :) Their fries are also on point. Highly recommend!

I expected this place to be a brewery, but it was not. Additionally, there were limited draft beers options when we went. The brisket was dry but the pulled pork was good. The service I'd rate as standard. Not exceptional, nor poor. I went to this restaurant because they are pet-friendly due to their outdoor patio area. There really isn't much of an area and it wasn't open due to the rain. Ambiance is nothing to write home about. Overall a very mediocre experience.

This is award winning BBQ! Tender, Juicy with unbelievable blend of Spices on the Meat! The Onion Rings and Fries are crunchy and tasty. I was hesitant to go, glad I went. You won't be disappointed....

Great place for some bbq food! Had the fat city spud with brisket and oh man the meat was so tenderrrr. I recommend it. Didn't finish the potato it was in since it's humongous but if you're feeling it and hungry this is all you need to go into a food coma lol. The tremor beer lager is a great pair. I'm a big lager fan so I recommend it. Great seating for big groups or small groups, retro throwback music was spot on when I went in. Plenty of parking in the back. Service is friendly and nothing to complain about. Food came out fast. I'd come back.

Came on a Friday for lunch. Was recommended by someone. Ambiance...Nice and clean. Nice music playing. Service...The two ladies were very kind and friendly. I love that. Everything we ordered. Brisket, ribs and pulled pork and rib tips. All was very bland except for the rib tips. Sides were coleslaw, loaded baked potatoes and chili beans. Coleslaw and chili beans were basic. Loaded potatoes were cold and hard except for the toppings. Also bought two smoked chocolate cookies. They were big! It was good when warmed up at home. Hubby was excited cuz he loves bbq. He said it was just ok and a little disappointed because he's been wanting to eat here for some time. Same for me. Everything was plain.

If you haven't tried the ribs here yet, you are seriously missing out! They are absolutely amazing--I was so caught up in the flavor that I completely forgot to snap a picture before devouring the last one. Definitely a must-try! The staff were incredibly polite, and the place was spotless. Can't wait to go back!

Ordered the Fat City Spud for delivery. Not the first time food has arrived looking different from the photo online. But absolutely the first time it looked BETTER than advertised . Everything is well seasoned and the tri tip is tender. Would definitely order again

I have been there only twice. The first time they were out of most meats, so I ended up with a burger. The second time I went they were out of rib ends, or bits, whatever they are called. I got the ribs, sausage and brisket. I went there around 4:30 so I was pretty upset that they were out of stuff already. The food was cold. To top it off I could hear the owner talking at a table with his friend and all I can say is he has a sailors mouth! F bombs continually. Not very respectful for an owner. Especially when kids are in there. I thought is was pretty pricy as well.

This Place is amazing I love their rib tips absolutely a must have! The barbeque burger is sooo good % and their Mac and cheese is LIGHTS OUT! The service is TOP TIER! Props to all the servers! And the interior isn't very ideal but, I do like it's style they also have a wolf I think that's pretty epic honestly 10 out of 10. This place is absolutely amazing would recommend to my friends once you come here your mouth will water, your eyes will feast, and you will be filled to the brim with delicious food for everyone at your table!

The bbq is ok at best I spent $65 on a meal that was not that good and then changed another dollar for bbq sauce to mask the subpar barbecue that I paid for

I ordered Smoked Turkey online. Drove 30 minutes only to arrive and be told they didn't have any. The cashier said he'd put extra in to make up for it and he actually gave me less. This place is a joke. Not recommended if you actually want what you ordered

The pulled pork and tritip were excellent and the sauce was spot on. the rib tips had a wonderful flavor; however many of them had a lot of cartilage which is not very pleasant to bite down on. The cole slaw and mac-n-cheese were very good; however they had packed the slaw on top of the warm food and it was also warm. The price was fair for the three meat plate and fed two of us.

Good Selection of Craft Beer paired with amazing BBQ. Whether you're eating in or taking it to go, I have to recommend you give their habanero BBQ sauce a try. It is the best blend of spicy and sweet. It's not an overwhelming heat but enough to keep you warm for the meal.

Working near this place so I had to try it out and I'm glad I did! Tri-Tip is my favorite food so if it's in the menu im getting it! I ordered the 1 meat plate with 2 sides. I was given a generous portion of tender tri tip that was perfectly pink in the center and seasoned greatly. The Mac and cheese was good in a way I don't think I've ever had before. The cheese was so gooey and almost had like a queso taste to it that made it stand out and very good. The onion rings were nice and golden crispy. I love when you have to actually bite into an onion ring. Noting is worse than taking a bite and the whole onion string out. These were very good. The only thing I didn't really like were the sauces. They were all on the sweeter side and I'm someone who likes spice but other than that it was great!

Out of town and a friend wanted to try a new bbq place. We wound up here at fat city brew & bbq. All three of us got two meat plates, a mixed drink and a appetizer to split. The total bill plus tip came out to $168, which honestly is a little pricey. For my plate I got the tri tip, brisket, Mac & cheese and potato salad. The best thing was the brisket, the tri tip was alright but just like the appetizers a little bland. I would still try this place again whenever in town but next time to help cut down on the cost, I think I will get a sandwich as I noticed a lot more customers opted for sandwiches instead. The mixed drinks were pretty good and priced fine, but just a little heavy on the ice.

I've had Fat City in the past; however, only on the catering side. My take: plenty of parking in the back, plenty of room for seating inside. Seems to be the owners cat that roams around the inside and outside of the building, which did not bother me. I think it's a good heads up for sone however. The workers are nice, and the food is pretty good. I particularly like the flavors of the meats, the sauces are good, I didn't care too much for the Mac and cheese or fries, the potato salad was pretty good however. All in all I think I'm on the 3.5 stars if I'm comparing to others I've had before. You certainly will not be disappointed coming here. It's a solid place to eat.

KEEP IT MOVING.... FOOD: We ordered "The pit" so we could try a bit of all the meats they smoke there. The meal came with two sides, we selected Mac and cheese and the chili beans. Overall the meats were bland but they may leave it like that so people can flavor to their preferences. Mac and cheese was dry and not so cheesy. Chili beans were heavy on the tomatoes. We also ordered the chicken wings, nothing really to speak on for those. WHY DID WE COME? Well I came across the owners post where he spoke about his recent health journey and we wanted to show some support to him and his establishment. Our order was to go but unfortunately after arriving all the way home we cut open the bag they gave us to realize they forgot pretty much half our order. They sounded dumbfounded when we called them and they realized what happened. Mistakes happen, yes but there was no effort to rectify the situation. Since we were going to have to drive all the way back to pick it up I asked if we could have a fresh order but was told not all of the meats were available anymore and they would have to substitute so we had to stick to our original order that had been sitting there. By the time we got home from all the back and forth the food was what it was. Very disappointed in the customer service. We wish the owner well but will not be visiting again.

Thank you Don for responding, but with all due respect I don't think you should weigh onion rings, when I was leaving I saw others who had significantly larger portions. I found my receipt and I did in fact pay 6.99 in addition (which I didn't realize). I was charged a dollar for on side of ranch. As I stared before it was a to go order probably had a few left and figured the customer I.e. me would possibly be upset but let it go. Like I said definitely disappointed and I won't return or you recommend based on my experience, btw it might be a good idea to brush up on your prices you wee a full 2.00 dollars off, 3.00 of you include the Ranch Dressing. Again not upset just disappointed.

Randomly stopped by while in the area. Got the brisket sandwich with Jack cheese with a side of onion rings. Brisket was super soft and tasty, onion rings were pretty plain, I'd go for other sides next time. Pretty much open seating, you'll get a menu and have to order at the register.

I really like the amount of meat they give you and the taste/flavor of the meat. I like that it wasn't smothered in barbecue sauce. I like to be able to choose to add my own if I want to. Onion ring sides were good. But I'm surprised at how little the amount of mac & cheese is for a side to a three meat plate that could serve more like two or three people.

Tri tip and brisket sandwhiches were great. For the sides we tried the mac and cheese, potatoe salads and onion rings.

After seeing this play, some good stay Sacramento I had to go try it. So I drove out to Stockton from Sacramento and worked out there for a little while boy was I glad I did. After walking in the back door and seeing all the staff and everybody was so polite and friendly they offered me a menu. No thanks I already know what I'm ordering. Hi my name is Spencer and I'm here for the giant Dino beef rib. They brought out my ribs and boil boy that they look delicious. And they were very tasty. Very tender super yummy, and lots and lots and lots of flavor. The meat came right off the bone! They had lots of other things on the menu that I can't wait to try the next time I'm in Stockton like I don't know macaroni and cheese french fries ! Thanks for a great experience. Had a great time! The food here is amazing! I have tried their tri tip, ribs, and brisket. All so good. The rib sandwich is my favorite. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

Learned about Fat City for TV - Rob on the Road. Decided to drive the 100 miles to try them out and what a fun place. A tip if you're not from the area, there is a very nice parking lot right in back of the restaurant, so don't sweat the street parking. We arrived mid afternoon, so it was quiet, but I'm betting it is a lively spot starting around 5. The food is just what you'd expect. The BBQ sauce is just barely spicy, but they have options on the table to spice it up if that's what you want. My husband is a mac and cheese guy and that is one of the side options. It was very good! We got the full rack and split it. Wow!!! they went all the way across the tray and were double stacked at the end. There was so much food that even though we split one meal, we took 3 ribs home with us. The service was good and the interior is funky and fun. The big windows in front made it fun to people watch.

Service is always great: attentive & friendly. The restaurant has a relaxed/chill vibe. Food: Everything I've ordered is delicious but my absolute favorite is their brisket and mac n'cheese. Their barbecue sauces are all wonderful. We've had them cater for our parties and people always ask, "Who made the food??" because it's delicious. I highly recommend this place.
