This was my third visit since they opened, and the menu keeps evolving! Every dish bursts with bold flavours, leaning on the spicy side, thankfully the Thai iced tea is there to cool things down. • Tom Yum Goong - cloudy hot and sour prawn soup with mushrooms, galangal, lemongrass and evaporated milk • Hot and Sour Pork Noodles - hot and sour pork soup with BBQ pork, ground pork, and Vietnamese ham, Asian celery, peanuts, and crispy shallots • Thai Iced Tea - palm sugar, evaporated milk

We stopped into Fat Mao Noodles in Chinatown today and it was an absolute hit. We started with the roti curry, which came warm and sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces with a rich, delicious curry dipping sauce. We also tried the winged bean salad — three different types of beans served crisp and cold, tossed in a bright chili-lime dressing with fried shallots and lemongrass. Super refreshing and surprisingly addictive. For noodles, we went with the Khao Soi chicken curry and the Tom Yum, and both were outstanding. Beautiful depth of flavor, great spice, and exactly what we were craving. Warm, cozy, perfect comfort food. Service was great across the board, and I loved that their chef partnered with Main Street Brewing to make a crispy lager designed to pair with bold Asian flavors. Huge win. 10/10 — fantastic food, friendly service, and a great little spot in Chinatown. Would absolutely go again and can’t recommend it enough if you’re in Vancouver.

I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time now. Am I ever glad I did. From the moment we walked in, the servers were extremely friendly and helpful to recommend beat sellers. Being a noodle shop, you don't get the smell of soup and noodles on your clothes, which is a good thing. We ordered the recommended curry chicken with Shanghai wide noodles and the boat noodle with vermicelli. If you like noodles a bit chewy, I'd recommend the Shanghai noodles. The chicken was cooked very nicely. Fall off the bone. The curry was rich and flavorful. I just wished they had given a little bit more broth. The boat noodle had beef shin, meat balls , and liquid pork blood mixed into the soup. It was very tasty, but a tad on the salty side. All in all, excellent with extremely good service.

What a fantastic lunch at Fat Mao Noodles in Chinatown today! The place was absolutely bustling, but it was so worth the wait. It was my first time trying it out, though my husband had been raving about it, declaring it the "best soup noodles ever!" (I, of course, had to tease him about who he went with if it was my first time! ) Stepping through the narrow door, the restaurant might be small, but it immediately felt like being welcomed into a friend's home. We kicked things off with their delicious roti and curry--definitely a must-share starter. Then, we dove into the main event: the most incredible, fall-off-the-bone Braised Duck Noodles (duck leg in aromatic soy broth) and a rich, Spicy Boat Noodle soup (rich beef & pork broth with sliced shin & meatballs). A huge bonus? You can customize your noodle type! For my dish, I changed the noodles from Shanghai wide noodles to glass vermicelli noodles for my dietary needs. Every dish was simply so good, especially the soup broth, which was incredibly rich and flavourful. The staff were really nice, checking in on us after our food arrived to make sure everything was perfect. We'll definitely be back for more.

Delicious noodles and soups! A good variety of noodle options and main dishes with some tasty appetizers. We got a table right away early on a Friday and were served quickly. They accommodated us with extra plates when asked as well.

The servers were pretty nice. The taste was alright, but the zap pork noodle soup was overly sour from vinegar. The price was quite expensive at $26 for a bowl of noodle soup, though maybe that’s because of the location.

This place is my secret GEM 💎 All foods are flavoured and so yummy But my top favourite : 1 : Hot and Sour Pork Noodles 2 : Khao Soi Chicken Curry Nd for sure Mafo Tofu for appetizers 😋 All staffs are so nice and my fav one is Donut :) You MUST try this place and then you will crave it every week 😂😫

My friends tried the Braised duck, Tomyum and they loved it. Mine was the Curry and i enjoyed the first half of the bowl, after that it just a little too creamy and fill me up pretty fast even tho im still not full. Their Thai tea is good too and it came out pretty fast. The day i visited maybe there was something wrong with the ventilation but we can see smoke and smell heated oil. All our clothes cover with smell afterward too. Pretty cozy place, works well with groups under 8ppl.
