I recently visited Fat Miilk and had an incredible experience! I tried the traditional, sea salt latte, matcha, and phin drip coffees, each bringing its own unique flavor profile that I truly enjoyed. To accompany my drinks, I ordered their blueberry danish, which was absolutely divine—I couldn’t resist eating the whole thing, even though I was supposed to be on a diet! The service was exceptional; the staff was friendly and attentive, making my visit even more enjoyable. Additionally, the aesthetics of the café were super cute, and the ambience was wonderfully relaxing, providing the perfect environment to savor my treats. Overall, I highly recommend Fat Miilk for anyone looking for great coffee and delightful pastries!

The coffee was good and really strong. They also have a 7% Restaurant Service fee which kicks it up to the next dollar which is insane to me since no where else does it!!! The coffee sizes are sooo small, ice takes up most of the cup too. When you walk out it’s gonna be about $8-$9 for a small cup of coffee/expresso drink. I asked the cashier if she could remove it and she became very rude, hostile and refused to take it off. Didn’t have such a great experience overall, wouldn’t recommend!

Went to a popup over a year ago at an art gallery and fell in love (and I don’t even like coffee). I was excited to see an Uptown storefront/continue my hunt for the best ube matcha latte in Chicago. 10/10. It was $10 with the tax/tip but it tasted like the bowl of leftover milk once you finish some lucky charms. They are part of the inKind network which helps with financing. I’ll be back!

Sexiest coffee shop on the northside of Chicago. A designer’s dreamy delight. Creative recipes, packaging, interior decor and space. A gateway into Asia on Argyle this shop represents Vietnam in a modern and trendy light.

Fat Milk in Uptown is a must-visit for Vietnamese coffee lovers! The vibes are super cool, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I tried their signature Fat Milk Latte—a Phin drip coffee with condensed milk—and it was so rich, smooth, and perfectly sweet. If you love a strong, bold coffee, this is the spot for you. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

I had not had Vietnamese Coffee before and since I first tried it a few weeks ago, I have already been back twice. its a cute little shop located off Broadway, and when I say little, the interior is very small. There is a bar with stools in the back of the place but that is about it when it comes to seating. Each time I have gotten Traditional Vietnamese Coffee iced and loved it every time. The consistency, and quality of the drink makes it addicting. I can appreciate they don’t make the drink very sweet, so the quality of the coffee shines. My girlfriend has been getting the Matcha’s with Almond milk and they have a high quality Matcha powder they use. They also have baked good that rotate but I have yet to get one so I need to try those still. It is a bit pricey but on par with most coffee shops you’d go to in the city.

I stopped with a friend on a Sunday morning because I was craving Vietnamese coffee. I got the traditional with condensed milk and it was SO good. The people working were super nice and the atmosphere is cool. Plenty of spaces to sit with friends or work. I can't wait to go back and get another coffee and try a matcha as well!

Bar tender asked if it was our first time. I said it was for me but not my friends. place looks like a bar trying to be a club. I ordered the courage coffee which is the bold line. It taste robust but the container sucked. It keeps dripping on me. I checked a few times to make sure it’s sealed properly and it was but keeps leaking.

Yelp
Very good!! I've tried a couple of other Vietnamese coffees around the city and I feel like this is my favorite so far!! Also they have happy hour from 1-3 so my drink was only $3!!!!

Yelp
DELICIOUS coffee with a cutie little shop. There's limited seating, so I wouldn't plan to spend a whole day in this shop, but it is nice regardless!! The coffee itself was bold and flavorful. Really good coffee!!! Love this little shop

Yelp
The coffee was great but nothing outstanding so the price is not really justified, especially because this definitely more of a grab and go place. Seats are not comfortable and the set up is just not the best if you were looking to stay for a while. Staff was very kind and very informative about the menu/coffee!

Yelp
The coffee is super duper strong. I literally have a headache after taking a sip of this. Not recommended for people who easily get drunk by caffeine. The matcha is pretty good, I enjoy the bitterness and grassy taste. There're limited seating in the area though.

Yelp
Ordered the fat milk signature and one of the espressos. Service was quick, interior looks cool, and barista was super nice. I have no baseline to compare this to for Vietnamese style coffee but it was pretty good but a bit expensive. Overall happy that we tried it. They're doing a collaboration with an ice cream place throughout the summer which sounds intriguing.

Yelp
I thought the coffee was good although a bit pricey. The cafe decor is modern and looks like it should be in west loop. This coffee is more of a splurge than a daily coffee.

Yelp
The affogato here was incredible! Miso caramel with biscoff was such a great flavor combo! The ambiance is chic and cute and service was fast and friendly! Their coffee is such great quality! Can't wait to go back and try something different! The sitting area is a bit small, so just wish this was bigger! Defintely is pricey tho, we spent $8 on this small cup.

Yelp
From reality tv to latte. Come in for the best coffee. Don't confuse it with Fat Cat, or Fat Sal, or phat... although the drinks and staff are phat. You'll love their drinks and roasted coffee. Come see their phin, not like a fish, more like a coffee pouring method. Limited hours for now, but they are expanding that.

Yelp
I was so excited to try fat milk as I've had their coffee during a pop up at sawada. We got the traditional viet coffee and it did not disappoint! Rich coffee flavor with well balanced sweet level. Although it is a little pricy for the size but it was definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
TOO EXPENSIVE! The sizing of the cups are off. I ordered a large, the cup seemed more of a small. What I found annoying was the Person taking the payment telling the barista to "add more ice". The coffee was good but nothing great. The aesthetics of the place is beautiful, Probably will only return if a friend wants to try it out.

Yelp
Was excited to try this coffee shop hoping for an authentic Vietnamese coffee. Disappointed. Pricey and very diluted coffee. The ambiance was great, customer service was ok but the coffee was tasteless. Hope they improve.

Yelp
The owner (I'm assuming) is very nice and explained what the different coffees were. I got the tradition phin drip and it was delicious. It was already creamy so didn't need an extra. It is a bit pricey but the quality is there.

Jade M.

Yelp
They should call this place 'Fat Rip Off'. If you want extra cream in your drink it's $1!! Otherwise it's like drinking an $8 small sized black coffee. Also, it reeks inside. The service was terrible too; the girl at the register chatted with her friend for 5 min before acknowledging us and had a bad attitude. Also, I saw on TikTok that they had ube drinks- no. That's a lie- they only have those randomly sometimes. Oh and there's no parking- it's $1 for 15 min outside their shop. Don't waste your time or gas driving here-there are other much better coffee spots in the area.
