Fat Moon Restaurant & Bar

Walked in and at first I couldn't figure out what was going on. But there was karaoke happening! A small group of young people were passing the mic between each song. There was no indication at the time that we were welcome to sing too, until we were leaving, but I'm sure it was just a matter of us asking. The staff was VERY friendly and the kitchen was very accommodating and made me the most DELICIOUS veggie fried rice since I am plant based. I forgot there might be egg but I ate it anyway. The portion size was good. I was allergic to something in it though. Perhaps next time I will ask if they can substitute tamari for traditional soy sauce and/or black vinegar or leave it out altogether. I also get similar reactions to MSG so next time I will inquire about it and see if they can leave it out for me. My food got cold quickly. (Seems the heater may have been on the blink). But again it was SO delicious! Hubby had the cheese steak egg rolls and full moon chicken which he thoroughly enjoyed. He paid the dinner price for the chicken but felt like he received a lunch portion. But other than that there were no complaints. The bathroom was clean. Overall our experience was great. "Ferdy" our waiter, who was also doubling as a bartender, made it extra special. Will definitely return, with friends along. Suggestions are 1) put veggie fried rice on the menu and name it after me lol and maybe one other vegan dish like tofu or chickpea curry 2) give option to make certain dishes gluten free and/or egg free 3) bigger portions on the higher priced "dinner" dishes 4) let new guests know they can request to sing.

Nice location. Great customer service with a good atmosphere. They even have a bar plus opportunity for karaoke. Plenty seating. Now the food I must say is delicious. The teriyaki salmon sandwich is amazingly good. Just without the bread fully toasted otherwise it’s really hard making for a tough fight to eat the sandwich but lightly toasted or not toasted at all it’s perfect. Fries (regular and kimchi) are very good and the calamari was as well. Wasn’t crazy about the cauliflower as it was ok. Overall I highly recommend this place.

* Update: Their creamy bacon & mushroom fettuccine & their peanut butter whiskey shots are amazing!!! My friend also liked their cheesesteak rolls. Look forward to visiting again 🤤 ——– While visiting Philadelphia, my friend and I went to Fat Moon twice. We liked it so much the first time, that we went again! The meals are very unique, I haven’t tasted anything quite like it. I loved the spicy scallion noodles with shrimp and my friend was very happy with his order, the fat moon chicken! You have to try the seaweed chips and Kimchi fries appetizers!! We loved those, and can’t wait to try more of the menu!

Highly recommended! We got four items and they were all very good. You can tell they put in effort in the cooking and presentation. Very impressive. Happy hour Monday through Friday 3-6pm $6 Appetizers. We are honestly already planning to be back again in two days to try other things on the menu. Especially the Chicken katsu curry got me excited, not many places here serve Japanese curry with carrot and potatoes. My favorite combo. I am curious to see if they put on sports when there are games or just the music videos. Would be a good place to watch sports on the big projector screen.

One of the best bites I've had in Philly. Awesome little venue, great vibe, and phenomenal food. Their chicken with the egg yolk sauce and garlic rice is next level. Loved it will be back.

Cozy atmosphere, nice staff, and great vibes!!! Got their garlic noodles, buffalo wings, and honey chili garlic wings. All are top notch, especially the wings!!! Fresh, crispy, and the sauces are AMAZING.

This is a fun space and bar. The menu puts some interesting twists and has items you wouldn't expect from a bar in the US like creamy udon noodles, katsu curry chicken, and a huge karaoke screen and stage towards the front. The decor is cute and alludes to space/sky like the name "fat moon." Pricing was average for being close to center city. Drinks were good but the cocktails trend sweeter-- my partner liked them but i switched to gin rickys I always see a mixed crowd of all sorts, and it's a very casual atmosphere.

The owner was really nice. Servers are very attentive and constantly refilled my drinks without me having to ask. My cheesesteak egg rolls were good. My entree was also tasty but the star of the show was the garlic fried rice!

I came here last Sunday to watch the Eagles game with my family. Bill and Tyler were super nice and accommodating. They brought us an order of complimentary fries for my kids. The cheesesteak egg rolls were really flavorful. Simply put, it was a great time and I appreciate their hospitality. We parked a short walk away but for your convenience there's paid parking right next door. They also do karaoke and open mics which is awesome. We'll definitely be back!

Fat Moon is a fun bar and hangout spot with a surprisingly unique menu. It goes beyond typical bar fare, offering dishes like creamy udon noodles and katsu curry chicken--unexpected yet delightful. A huge karaoke screen and stage at the front adds to the lively atmosphere. The decor is cute and has a space/sky theme, fitting the "Fat Moon" name. Located near the city center, prices are average for the area. The cocktails lean towards the sweeter side (my partner enjoyed them, but I opted for gin rickys). The crowd is always diverse as far as ages, and the atmosphere is very casual and welcoming.

Food: didnt order that much food but the cocktails were SO good perfect ratios not too sweet, not too strong but can definitely taste the alcohol Atmosphere: such a cute cozy vibe, can go to watch sports games or just hang at the bar Service: fast, nice servers attentive. Tips: no need for reservations usually, they dont do karaoke all the time Can just order food and no drinks for a good asian fusion meal

Came here on a Sunday night and it was the perfect place to host a group celebration. We did catering from Fat Moon and the food was delicious! Very flavorful and unique compared to other bars. Shoutout to the staff and bartender for their generosity and putting up with our loud karaoke-singing crew. They are super attentive and made our experience the best. It felt like family. Bonus: huge projector at the front of the restaurant to watch the games (or karaoke).

Family owned restaurant in Spring Garden. I ordered the scallion noodles with chicken. I was able to change the spice levels to my liking. We also got the pan fried dumplings. Everything was great and came out quickly. The staff there is very friendly and attentive. They also have happy hour Monday through Friday, karaoke and open mic nights open. I didn't get any alcoholic drinks here but they do have a liquor license. I would definitely come here again. Definitely check this place out with friends if you're looking for a new place to try.

What a wonderful hidden gem. The owners of this place really make you feel like family when you come in. Very warm and happy place. Absolutely loved the kimchi fries, as well as the cheesesteak egg rolls. We got the crab fried rice and it was great.

Great food and nice ambiance! They had some interesting menu items that are fat moon specialties and some more classic well known dishes. The happy hour menu also looks pretty good!

I didn't come here for food but they had Quizzo on a Wednesday night and the crowd was small but lively. A relatively new small spot I'm not mad I came here. They have comedy open mics and live musics sometimes and a super friendly and cool bar staff.

Happened to wander upon Fat Moon the day of their soft opening, when its incredible owners were standing outside putting up signage. Was then invited to the soft opening where I had the Egg Yolk Seaweed Chips, Honey Walnut Butter Shrimp with rice, and the Kimchi Fries. Where I fell in love with the egg yolk seaweed chips. Along with the meal I got a free karaoke show, which they will begin doing after 10pm! I came back opening day, April 1st, 2024, for lunch and had the Stir-Fry Noodles with Spicy Scallion, which was my favorite main dish that I've had so far! Plus, I suggested they try a kimchi fried chicken sandwich using the kimchi they use for the kimchi fries and they made it for me lol (that is the pic I labeled as the secret test item) You never know it might be on the menu some day . Overall nothing but a great experience, I will continue to comeback :)

Stopped by to check out this new restaurant and was not disappointed. Was greeted by the friendly staff right when we walked in the door. Service was very quick and attentive and was checked up on throughout the night. We ordered the Co-La wings, Fat moon chicken and spicy scallion noodles with shrimp. The wings were so crispy and juicy coated with a sweet and savory sauce. The fat moon chicken was tossed in a salty egg yolk cream sauce and paired perfectly with white rice to balance the taste. The scallion noodles are a must order. Thick cut noodles mixed in a spicy sauce and the shrimps were cooked to perfection. The bar was not open at the time I went, but I will definitely be back to check it out and order more food! Can't wait to try the shrimp toast and kimchi fries next time! Bar should be open in the near future and was told there would be also karaoke at night. Should be a fun nighttime hang out spot. Will be back soon!

Ordered takeout overall food tasted good I had the Salmon Bake and shared with my roommate. Unfortunately some of the vegetables were undercooked and I did not find the smell all that appetizing my roommate did so I'll leave it up to personal preference but moving past the those things we were able to enjoy a good portion of it with some left over. Will try out something else from the menu next time.

Friendly staff, great food. Spicy scallion noodles were a yum choice. Good selection of bottled drinks too.

The food is amazing here. I loved it took my dad here and we almost ate everything in the menu.

Two of us had a delicious early dinner at Fat Moon. It was a couple blocks walk from where we're staying and easy to find. We started with Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls, followed by Beef with Eggplant with garlic rice and Garlic Noodles with chicken. All very tasty, and the service was attentive and prompt. The restaurant was not at all busy, probably because it was before 5 pm, the restaurant only opened recently and didn't yet have a liquor license. Nice interior, all fresh and clean. Good value for the money and a great meal.
