After nearly passing out due to the heat, too much coffee and not enough water, it was 4pm and all I’d eaten all day was donuts. The carbs and sugar high had turned toxic in my system, protein was now a necessity. I’m from out of town, didn’t know the local burger landscape, but fate brought me here. Sometimes, caution must be thrown to the wind, so the Super Deluxe was ordered up, sans BBQ sauce and the grilled onions (and mushrooms? Can’t remember, I was crashing). Regardless- I ate it ALL. I’m thinking 24oz of patties, maybe 3oz of bacon, plus veggies.
Size was PERFECT, for me. My wife would probably get sick thinking about that much food, so I don’t tell her about these things. Group texted “the guys”, they were, rightfully, jealous. Had to explain it was both quality AND quantity, for as they say “nothing exceeds like excess”.
Final thoughts- the Super Deluxe probably shouldn’t be what one eats every day, but I’m sure all their burgers would be equally as good. Forget the 5 dudes place across the street, that’s an insult to Fat MO’s enduring legacy, and a poor imitation of what the burger industry should be. I wholeheartedly recommend Fat Mo’s, and I would classify myself as a true burger aficionado of classic, straight forward, unfussy, non “chef” prepared burgers
