Nice selection of dishes with great flavours. I wouldn’t say the food was top-notch, but for the price you are paying, you get something of value. Most of the dishes are priced around the $30 mark which is pretty average for anywhere in CBD now. The portion sizes and the quality was quite good for the price ✨ We ordered quite a few dishes including the deluxe seafood pad thai, bo luc lac, xa xiu and the seafood laksa. We were quite happy with the food ✅ The service was great and the food arrived very quickly 💯 Note: They are located INSIDE the casino so remember to bring your ID with you

TIP FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS: this restaurant is located INSIDE the casino. Most staff around the Star don’t know where Fat Noodle is so just ask where the casino is and casino staff can then advise where Fat Noodle is. Went here with my mother for the lunar new year package ($168 for two), it was good overall (good and fast service, clean restaurant) but I didn’t like the food, so most likely won’t be back. Maybe I’m just not used to Vietnamese cuisine but the dishes we ate were overly sweet, including dishes that I really didn’t think should have been that sweet, such as the seafood soup and beef salad. This isn’t a case of me not liking a bit of sweetness in savoury meals - I love dried cranberries in salads and love pineapple on pizza, even if that makes me a heathen, and I love the sweetness of inari sushi. Here though the degree to which the soup and beef salad were sweet was just too much. It was the main flavour. I can recommend the mango trifle and the pork belly. The chicken was okay, I didn’t remember it being that flavourful and we ended up just taking most of it home.

Great atmosphere, very friendly host, greeted us and is very knowledgeable about their food and drinks! They have the special at the moment, food was super delicious at a totally affordable price! (Lots of vegetarian choices too on the menu!) Service is fast and nice, variety of beverages is great too! Will definitely recommend to anyone!

Google
Great food under $40. Three of us had the seafood pad Thai, WOW, delicious, generous serve of quality seafood. Superb and highly recommended. The pork dumplings were so tasty, it got the taste buds dancing around our mouths. Again, another WOW.

Google
It took time for them to sit people eventhough the place isn’t full. Calling the attention of servers was a challenge too. What’s good about them is that although the dish in the menu says Seafood, you may request to change the meat. In our case, we chose chicken instead for the pad thai and laksa. They are also flexible to serve our dumpling order for pcs instead of the regular 3 pcs servings (of course additional fee applies 😆). My order (Fat Pho) was the last dish served. According to the staff, the soup didn’t taste the same as usual 😅

Google
Service was on point. Water on arrival, menu was appealing and was not disappointed with the order. Fast, fresh and delicious. Price was not bad either. I don’t know what the last 1* review was talking about but as fussy diners we had nothing to complain about. We will come back.

Google
Had the Chicken stir fry. Chicken pieces were nice and tender however meal was flavourless. Chicken seemed to be added later to the cooked fried rice. Onion was cut in too big pieces as was the chicken. Fried rice just seemed to be basic with just tomato and spinach, if you look closely you can find a bit of egg pieces.

Google
Was actually quite delicious and a really good price! The dim sum was super tasty and the pork siu Mai were the best I’ve ever had! Definitely coming back !!

Yelp
Classy location inside the old Treasury Building, which leads to a very... well... let's just say that given there's now a casino inside said building, the ambiance actually is pretty much what you'd expect. Service is pretty good, especially at the register. Food is where it's okay. Har gow and shu mai were decent enough but overall forgettable, and the daily special I had-- while it looked amazing-- was equally forgettable. Chicken pad thai ended up being okay enough, topping it with soft shell crab made for a very picturesque combo... sadly just one that was entirely average in the end. Am curious to come back for pho or other dishes tho, and the location in Brisbane's CBD is great.

Yelp
Came here for lunch recently. The menu is ok, unfortunately its pretty stock standard stuff ... Please feel free to mix it up a bit! Lisa Ann.

Yelp
A very high class restaurant with great serving of amazing food. Highly recommended and a must visited place in Brisbane.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance, and the service was absolutely excellent. I must be honest and say that flavor-wise.. the food really wasn't up to snuff. The presentation of the dishes themselves was nice, but definitely lacking depth & vibe in my opinion. Had the Pad Thai, Crispy Chicken, & the Lamb Shank. Maybe come for a cocktail and some dumplings before the casino.

Yelp
One of my go-to places when I am in the Brisbane CBD for a work trip. They have a range of asian dishes, always with lots of fresh vegetables and quality ingredients. Service is friendly and prompt, and travelling solo I can always get a seat at one of the long "share" tables. Chinese tea is provided as a courtesy, Although there is also the usual drinks menu. If you are in a hurry, little clock icons next to dishes on the menu are for express service! Never tried those as the normal service is pretty fast already. I normally avoid casino or hotel restaurants, but this one is pretty good!

Yelp
I had Bun Rieu for the very first time in Brisbane and I'm very disappointed cuz the flavor was not what I expected. My first time and also my last to this place

Yelp
16/12/2012 Fat Noodle, fat tastes! Luke Nguyen is another celebrity chef who has decided to add to Brisbane's ever growing diverse menu, by opening Fat Noodle earlier this month (12/12/12) at the Treasury Casino, in Brisbane's CBD. Best known for his shows on SBS, Red Lantern Restaurants in Sydney, as well as his first Fat Noodle at The Star. Admittedly, we were already a fan of his work on SBS. The passion he conveys when cooking & talking about the dishes he makes using fresh ingredients, makes him instantly likeable. Without having been to any of his establishments it was with great excitement to finally be able to sample what everyone else has been raving about, especially those smug Sydneysiders! :) We decided to come for a very late lunch on a Sunday afternoon, around 3pm. Entrance is on the Queen Street side of the Treasury Casino facing Redacliffe place. Turns out, this is probably the best time to be lunching at Fat Noodle. As Fat Noodle does not take reservations, only a few patrons were about, and plenty of seats to choose. Our very attentive waiter had said that lunch earlier was "very very busy". Thank goodness we could relax and just take our time. When you first walk in to Fat Noodle, you immediately appreciate the lush Asian decor. It is hard to focus on the person greeting you when you are too busy, looking around admiring everything. The back-lit bar giving a lantern-like effect, and what looks like the scales of a dragon, hovering just underneath the ceiling. We were assigned a waiter, Gary, and service was first-class through out. Gary was kind enough to explain what Fat Noodle is all about. A dynamic mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai and Malay; in true "Asian Market Hawker" style. Meaning whatever you order, is prepared, cooked and served straight away! Fat Noodle, is open until 10pm each week night, and until 3am on weekends. Bonus! Locals now have great option for those late night munchies in the CBD, without having to resort to 24 hour service stations or fast food. Where we sat was a communal long table with high chairs, but there are also individual tables available. Fat Noodle even does take-away, another bonus, if you are looking for that quick fix of Asian mix. Gary provided us some complimentary jasmine tea, as we took our time to look over the menu. The menu is simple, divided into five sections of "Small Plates", "Rice", "Noodles", and "Wok" Dishes, as well as Drinks. Best thing about the food items on the menu? Nothing appeared to be over $20! Brilliant! It was time to order. We went with the Fat Pho Noodles ($18 - Fat Noodle's signature dish), a 20-hour beef broth, with thinly sliced Angus Sirloin and brisket, bean sprouts, fresh Thai basil, fresh chilli and rice noodles. We also ordered the Mee Goreng ($18), Singapore Noodles with Prawns, Chicken, Octopus, and Sambal Chilli sauce. Gary managed to convince us to try the Vegetable of the day; Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce. When our order finally arrived, which wasn't very long at all, we were amazed at the size of the meal (portion). Too often, you can come to a "fancy" place with "flash" décor, order something and be let down by the meal size portion for the price you pay. So this was a very welcome surprise, and it all looked very appetising. We sat there eating the Fat Pho Noodle, spooning & sipping the broth slowly and just enjoying the scrumptious tender beef loins. It took me back to the years growing up in Darwin, and having Vietnamese noodle soup after school at the popular eatery at Casuarina Shopping Square. For those that are not familiar with Darwin, it has to be one of the best places in Australia (if not the best), to have any Asian food! It is unlike any other Australian city, being closer to Asia, than it is to Sydney. The Mee Goreng Singaporean noodle was every bit as delightful, the octopus, a standout in the mix of chicken and prawns. From time to time, as we sat there silent, focussed on our meal, we'd have a piece of garlic sauce covered bok choy, as if we needed anymore of yummy flavours! We couldn't finish it all, and not wanting to waste it, we had Gary pack it for us to take-away. Fat Noodle exceeded our expectations, with the service, the aesthetics, and the quality of meal served, as well as value-for-money. It's an absolute bargain when you consider what you get, where you are having it, and who owns the place! It's also has a laid back atmosphere (for a venue which looks fancy) which we like. Whether it's for after work drinks, a group catch-up sharing a meal, a casual date, or a late night food hunt, Fat Noodle will be very popular indeed. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I have fallen in love with Fat Noodle! My family and I decided to try Fat Noodle on opening night. We arrived at about 6pm hoping to avoid a long wait for a table. We were a party of 6 so it took about 20 minutes for a table to clear (we were given a buzzer so we could wander around instead of standing at the door). My parents are from Singapore and my dad especially is always highly critical of anything he eats. He pretty much compares everything to a RM$2 laksa from the streets of KL when he was younger, so it's difficult to compete with such an authentic memory and the cheap prices of the past in SE Asia. So it was quite surprising, and Luke Nguyen should consider it an incredible compliment that my dad sat through the whole dinner praising everything. He LOVED the laksa, saying the flavour was very authentic and in his words 'they are not stingy on the ingredients' also saying it was much better than laksa from another restaurant in the city. And what did he have to say about the price tag? While it is more expensive than other CBD offerings, he believes that the great flavour makes it worth it and that people will come back. Mum had the chicken rice which she really liked (dad also saying that it was better than other ones available in the city). I had the Fat Noodle Pho which had a beautiful rich broth. The flavour became even more developed as you reached the bottom of the bowl. My sister's wonton mee reminded me of the ones I have when I'm visiting my family back in Singapore. Light broth and tasty, tasty wontons. I haven't had the duck noodle yet but our other guest said that it was really good and loved that the duck was boneless. We also ordered the small places; salt and pepper tofu, vegetable of the day (bok choy cooked in garlic) and the pork neck skewers. They were all good and while they were a great accompaniment we probably went a little overboard (because I wanted to try EVERYTHING!). The decor is lovely. And if you had ever been to Cafe 21 (what was in the same space previously) you will have an even greater appreciation of the prettiness. We were seated indoors on a big table. I did see communal benches which were high and also seating outside which I imagine would be quite cold in winter. I'm definitely going back again (and again) and can't wait to try the mee goreng. I have high hopes for it and will report back after I've been more than once (just to make sure it really is as good as the first time).

Yelp
When it comes to Vietnamese foods, I take any excuses to try new places. When I got introduce to Fat Noodle and after seeing some of their Instagram photos, I knew I had to come here. It was lovely, we were a group of 7 people getting together and catching up. The deco is inviting and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's hard to find a nice place like this that give you a free pot if tea, actually we had two free pots of Jasmine Tea - love the tea! I had the Hainam Chicken, the chicken is cooked perfectly and goes so well with the ginger sauce and sweet chilli sauce. The rice was abit uncooked and very dry. It's come with a side dish of soup but I didn't really like the soup, it tasted rather sweet and it was cold. Price rang is about $10 to $20 per dish. It's not a typical Vietnamese price rang. This is located in a well know casino right in the heart of Brisbane CBD. All and all experience was very good. Although the restaurant started to fill up shortly after we arrived, we didn't feel like we were rush to leave after we all finished eating and charting away. There were more dishes on the menu that I want to try, sure will come back and try more dishes!

Yelp
This might be the restaurant of the media-friendly Luke Nguyen but lower your expectations before coming to Fat Noodle. Yes, it's a decent and cheap eat but it isn't a fine-dining restaurant. It's fast Vietnamese and Asian food done well at a price that, in our group of four, left us all rolling home for $30 a head. I can't go past the teriyaki salmon for a starter to share with the table as well as some prawn dumplings. For mains I opted for the low-in-gluten Pad See Ew and this morning I've woken up wondering when I'll next eat this delicious dish. It was a well-portioned dish with the perfect balance of rice noodle, greens and slight sweetness. Depending on when you go there may be a wait. Our group waited (took the opportunity to have drinks at The Kitty) for about 30mins before a table was available. You'll be given a buzzer so best not to leave the Treasury vicinity.

Yelp
We went here last night to celebrate the 17 year old's impending birthday. We couldn't sit at our own table due to a very busy (takes no bookings) restaurant - so we opted to sit up at the looooong communal table. I do like a communal table - but with this one there is no room to "share" plates which is what Asian eating is all about isn't it? The food was expertly balanced in it's flavours. We devoured rice paper rolls, sashimi, chicken salad, sticky pork ribs, wagu beef noodles and a chicken pad thai. (Well, it was a birthday celebration!) ALL of the dishes were delicious. The staff are still very green and unsure of themselves. Their clumsy approach was a little off-putting. They didn't cope well with the fact that I was sitting opposite my 2 teenagers rather than next to them on this big communal table. When serving the meals they weren't sure where to put the food or who to bill in the end. Shared dishes are obviously not the de rigueuer here. We were halfway through the beef noodles when it was about to be whipped away. I had to yell to have it returned. Additionally the Bill was presented to me halfway through our meal. What if we wanted more food? More drinks? Did they want us to hurry up and leave? Great food! Great fit out! Just some more work on waitstaff etiquette and upselling will make this a fantastic restaurant.

Yelp
This is a restaurant in treasury casino. Took little it time to locate it from street. There is nothing much special about it. Pho was average. Service is like any other casino restaurant. Don't expect too much. It is open till late night hence best for late dinner.

Yelp
Went there last night with some trepidation. I usually stay well away from any restaurant attached to hotels or other 'entertainment' establishments, but, was pleasantly surprised. We went in pre-movies and were seated and served promptly although the place wasn't crowded. I ordered the mee goreng, and my other half had the spicy pork on noodles. I ordered mine spicy hot and it certainly wasn't up to my level of hot and nor was the 'spicy' pork. This is one thing I've come to expect in the culinary wasteland of Queensland cuisine so unless I'm dining in a place frequented by local Asian diners, I do expect to add chilli for taste. Both dishes arrived quickly (again, it wasn't busy) and both were well flavoured without the oilyness you sometimes get with fried noodle dishes, My mee goreng had some unusual extras like baby octopus and small bits of potato which I have never had before in this dish. But in saying that, they did no harm and complemented the other ingredients well. So apart from the lack of spiciness and depth of flavour I have experienced in other versions of mee goreng, I thought that our meals were good value for money (which I didn't expect at the casino) and decent quantities were served. All in all, if you have an appetite for safe, not-too-adventurous Asian food in Brisbane, Fat Noodle won't disappoint. If you're looking for dishes that are more authentic and would appeal to a more experience palate, head for the Valley or Sunnybank.

Yelp
Gamblin the luck & feelin hunger in the soul. Recharge the sugar to the brain's roulete cells. Try the Fat noodle chinese fast menu. Speed food delivered by black clad waiters and waitresses. We had rice dishes and the rapid peking duck. The stir fry beef and veges were hot and saucy with the rice. Then back to the furnace of the gamin tables. Prices were reasonable for the Casino venue. $20 for the Peking duck. And rice dishes around there too.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't quite understand the hype surrounding this restaurant in the Treasury Casino. The interior is very elegant however I feel that you're mainly paying for the atmosphere at this place. I ordered the Fat Noodle Pho which is one of their signature items and while it was decent, it was not really worth the $18 that I paid for when I can get better pho elsewhere for cheaper. This was kind of a letdown for me. I haven't tried their other dishes but since they're all around the same price point, not sure if I would return back here unless it was maybe for a special occasion. At least the service was quick and efficient, also the views are quite nice.

Yelp
"I wonder how many times a day they have to wipe the drool off that glass?" I ponder upon walking into Fat Noodle and seeing the kitchen plating up creamy laksa and steaming bowls of Pho. With a restaurant style to suit the Treasury casino attached, you won't find fluorescent lights and wet wipes in sight at this Asian fusion eatery. But they do have an incredibly tasty and well-priced menu of which I could have eaten absolutely anything and everything. The more polished setting (not quite cheap eats, but not fine dining) makes it a perfect date night or dinner with friends venue when you're looking for tasty, crowd-pleasing food. With influences of Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian, our table ordered Mee Goreng with glassy noodles and big juicy prawns, a mouth-watering Pad See Ew and a creamy Singapore Laksa that smelled absolutely divine. Paired with a tall and delicious Vietnamese coffee and I was in comfort food heaven. Ordinarily when eating Asian I would order a few dishes and share them all, but Fat Noodle seems more geared to single serves for people. That and Laska/Pho isn't exactly a share dish. Even with our entrée of vegetable dumplings we weren't given share plates, so I suspect it's just not the set up of the restaurant. If I was a local, this would definitely be my go-to whenever I craved Thai or couldn't decide what to have for dinner.

Yelp
Fat Noodle is a winner in my book. I love the name, love the interior (you forget you're in the Treas' immediately), love the long opening hours and love the food. Each time I've visited staff have been attentive, down-to-earth and keen to give advice about the menu. On the topic of the menu, my favourite picks have been the Salt and Pepper Silken Tofu, the vegetarian Shanghai Noodles with pumpkin and shitake mushrooms and the Pad See Ew with pork and asian greens on rice noodle rolls... oh boy... I still dream about those fat, saucy, delicious rice noodle rolls... My only criticism, already pointed out by some Yelpers, is the pricing which I wish was a little lower. On the plus side, the serving sizes I've had / seen have been quite large.

Marion L.

Yelp
Went there after the casino, around 9pm on Boxing Day, with some trepidation as I've been there twice before and did not enjoy my experience, but the majority ruled and I was told the place had improved, so off I went. Tea is $1.00 per person. Only 1 person ordered, the tea arrived in a teapot (I assume this is 1 pot per person!!) I found the waitress and the guy from the front desk rude and confrontational. We had pho noodles, chilli basil chicken and salted fish & chicken fried rice. The food was very bland and tasteless with lots of chilli and pepper. I gave this place 3 chances, and that's it. I won't be coming here again.

Yelp
We went to fat noodle by recommendation because we just love real authentic Vietnamese food . Again this is my second visit eating in the CBD Brisbane fancy Asian restaurant and disapointed with the whole service , food, and serving size . It was family gathering and we want to enjoy the atmosphere, but the food ?????? Wish they would cook it with passion.

Yelp
This was a bit of an impromptu visit. A friend had been to the movies and was heading here for dinner with their friend, I was invited along after work. I like that there is an entry into the place that doesn't involve going through the casino, makes it just a little easier. There's a nice outdoor eating area too on the balcony, which had a nice ambience until the heaters kicked in and bathed us in a ghastly red, blinding light. The staff were all super friendly too. The food. Well... I had some sort of beef stir fry. It was okay. I'm not really one for asian food in general, but I've definitely had better, but hey, it wasn't overly expensive, which you'd expect from its location. One of my dining partners had the pad thai, her favourite dish. Awful, worst she's had. Authentic Vietnamese food? Probably not. Both my dining partners have spent a good deal of time in Vietnam and were unimpressed. Or maybe it is authentic, just not very good. I don't know. It wasn't such an awful place i'd never come again, but it would never be first choice for anything, and there's definitely far better asian food to be had in Brisbane. Still, the bill between three of us only came to $70, so you won't blow your budget, and the decor and staff are both lovely.

Yelp
After 3 visits to Fat Noodle I now feel qualified to write a short review! The decor is delightful, the wait staff are attentive, and fellow diners are a mix of noodle loving people, and gambling folk on comped meals. On my first visit I tried the caramelised pork rib with egg. This was not entirely what I expected, but it was pretty tasty. The egg was hard boiled and boy was it boiled within an inch of it's life. I did not enjoy the egg, but the pork was melting and tender although not really caramelised. The chunks of pork rib (no bones) and the egg came floating in a bland oily sort of liquid. The rice was cooked nicely. The pickles were crunchy and zingy. I probably wouldn't order this again. Visit 2, I ordered the laksa after hearing a rave review on it. Maybe it was an off night when I tried it but I didn't think it was anything to write home about. There was tons of seafood and that was all cooked well but I found the broth too coconut-creamy and there was not enough spice. The noodles were also wrong and weird. Visit 3 I tried the Hainanese chicken rice. I love chicken rice, it's probably one of my favourite foods ever. Fat Noodle's version is pretty good - although heavily seasoned, I found it quite salty and I couldn't drink the accompanying soup because of the extreme salt factor. The chicken was well cooked and the rice was delicious. I also ordered the sour plum lemonade which was initially tasty but as I got towards the bottom it tasted like the ocean - extremely salty water. I may have been salt sensitive by this point, but I didn't get a lot of sour flavour, just salt salt salt. There is a lot more on the menu I'd like to try so I will definitely visit again - the late operating hours are excellent as there is so little available in the city so late.

Yelp
I thought the food was ok, but it's probably my fault for ordering something boring (fried rice is fried rice, I don't think I've ever had one that really blew me away). The interior is nice and the chairs and tables are very comfortable. This is to be expected from a place inside the casino. I found prices on the menu to be pretty reasonable, including drinks. Be aware that they do not split bills and will make zero attempt to help you sort out payment, even for a group of 6 or 7 people.

Yelp
I will point out the positives about Fat Noodle that I experienced. It's one of the FEW places that serves food after 9:30pm on a Sunday. The service was great as well. The staff were attentive and super friendly. The atmosphere is welcoming and classy. Unfortunately, a huge disappointment food wise. The prawn rice paper rolls were the best part of the meal and that's not saying very much. They were tiny. I make these at home and know that they can't be as large as my homemade ones but for the price, it was pathetic. The BBQ pork buns were not filled with much BBQ pork and too doughy. The flavor of the dough is important and it was lacking as well. Then, our entrees were even worse! I felt that the food was terrible, bland, and very low quality. I ordered the seafood mee goreng and I could have made instant noodles taste way better at home. I couldn't eat the squid or octopus because it was too chewy/rubbery with no taste. I feel that it came from the frozen seafood bundle that you purchase at the grocery store but left out too long. I tried to enjoy it but it was greasy and thrown poorly together. My friend ordered the duck noodle soup and it was awful as well. For a celebrity chef restaurant, I feel that it was all flash on the exterior but no substance when it comes to the real test- in the food. It's a real shame. The food came out too quickly which kind of worried me as well. I felt that it was fast food with a very expensive price tag.

Yelp
The good - food arrived very quickly, some staff friendly The bad- delivered mains while we were still eating starters. Pepper beef was very bland. Beef pho noodles stock tasted like a basic beef stock with soy sauce. The fried tofu was very very salty. Wouldn't return .

Yelp
Have been here several times and tried most of the dishes, absolutely wonderful. One night when the order didn't go through, we were offered our meals for free. Amazing food, service and value.

Yelp
My wife and I attended Luke Nguyen's Fat Noodle on the first day / night it opened. It is situated where the old Cafe 21 was in the Casino. It was quite busy. There are 3 main areas. Benches with stools, normal restaurant seating at tables, and the veranda. There are a couple of function rooms for groups. We didn't want to sit at the benches, and there were no tables available, so we were offered a table on the George St veranda. The veranda is a little cramped, and has the traffic noise, but it was ok. We were there at 7.15 pm. The problem was, there is no lighting from above. You could not read the menu!! We had to get our phones out and use the light from them to read the menu. Another older couple had the same problem, and as they didn't have phones, we lent them ours. The menu ranges in price from $9 to $20. Food and alcohol was reasonably priced. We shared Hainan Chicken ($16). It was ok, but have had better. My better half had the Angus beef with lemongrass ($19) Once again, the meat was tender, but there was only a hint of lemongrass. I had the Roasted Duck with tamarind and plum sauce in chicken broth. Duck was tender, succulent, with crispy skin, but the broth lacked and punch. The staff were very friendly, and very well dressed. We left the Fat Noodle, a little disappointed. We expected big flavours, but not to be. In it's defence, it was the first day of operation, and hopefully it will improve. We may have ordered dishes which did not showcase the best of this restaurant. We will try again in a few weeks, with different menu selections, to see if it improves.

Yelp
Great location, sat outside very pleasant unfortunately the food wasn't. Ordered a starter grilled pork plus main beef & noodles, the main arrived in no more that 5 minutes great except it was cold and arrived before my starter could only have been per cooked and re heated except mine wasn't! Ambiance was great but unfortunately it stops there.

Yelp
Because I disslike coriander and lemongrass, as a general rule I don't eat South-east Asian food. This place however has a wide menu from the usual selection, and even their more take on more typical dishes that I wouldn't eat elsewhere are good here. The server was really friendly and funny, and the decor is interesting and modern.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed with Fat Noodle because I was expecting bliss in soup form. The broth wasn't very flavoursome, the meat was dry and it was a very small portion. All and all, I didn't enjoy my pho. Not to mention, it was $13 for two small rice paper rolls. I can get a bigger, tastier, fresher portion of pho and a serving of three big rice paper rolls with loads of flavour in Darra and Sunnybank for half the price (literally). I get that it's the Brisbane CBD so the prices will be higher, but that doesn't excuse bad food. Sorry Luke Nguyen.

Yelp
The worst pho soup I have ever had :( Completely tasteless and overpriced ($22 for quite a small bowl). My partner had a lemongrass wonton soup which turned out to be also a huge disappointment. First visit and definitely the last one! I can't get why this place is so popular. The only thing we liked was the interior, pleasantly designed.

Yelp
Fat Noodle's signature pho dish was bland and could only be described as very average pho. After living in Vietnam and eating many bowls of tasty pho this was a real disappointment. At $20 a bowl and with Luke Nguyen as consulting chef, I expected much more.

Yelp
A bit of a let down. I'd seen mixed reviews on Fat Noodle but we decided to give it a try and see for ourselves. We were greeted promptly and escorted to the dining room. The dining room was full, so we were then given our choice of communal tables... we could either sit inside by the kitchen, or outside on the patio. It wasn't an uncomfortably hot day so we opted for the patio. We ordered the rice paper rolls, fried rice to share, the Seafood Laksa and the Pho (which Fat Noodle is supposed to be known for). The food came very quickly, so quickly that it was obvious they're in a hurry to turn tables here. The fried rice was just okay, cold and nothing special at all. My friend had the Seafood Laksa and was happy with his selection. It was a large portion with plenty of seafood, and the tofu was well cooked. The rolls eventually showed up and they were also just okay, quite tasteless and not a lot of filling. I had the Pho. Sorry Fat Noodle, this was easily the worst pho I've ever eaten. TERRIBLE!!! The broth tasted like watered down brown gravy. Unlike any broth, especially pho broth I've every tasted. It was lacking all of the lovely ingredients and spices that go into it during the long cooking process. The only positive was that there was a lot of beef in the soup. Definitely not traditional Vietnamese, but also failing on the Fusion front. I'd skip this one quite truthfully.

Yelp
Highly recommend the food here, prompt, high quality (the highest quality Vietnamese for our visit). I get irritated by people complaining about serving size. Quality wins every time over quantity. This place has QUALITY food. Service started great, then once the food was served they all left the restaurant and all guests had to beg for service (by getting up to find them) or self serve. The food made it worth while

Yelp
Greatly enjoyed the environment, service, and food. The food was served very quickly and complimentary tea was fabulous. We had the pad see ew and spicy pork and would recommend both. The spicy pork was not very spicy, but delicious all the same. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is definitely not Vietnam cuisine but Chinese food with Vietnam name only, taste sucks; front service is good but check out is rude, directly said "I don't speak Chinese" to us when we use English to ask

Yelp
Late night supper.. Headed over after a show at qpac.. Didn't really know what to expect but it was good to find somewhere that serves food later at night.. Beef soup was super-tasty and chicken pad tai was passable.. The pork and prawn rice paper rolls were pretty average.. But all okay for a late night supper..

Yelp
This is one of my favourite asian style restaurants. The meals are reasonably priced and the meals come out very quick. You cannot book so be prepared to wait for a table if they are busy.

Yelp
Delicious Viet fusion food. Wish we could've eaten more! Staff were lovely and cocktails hit the spot on a hot day.

Yelp
Had the laksa - can't tell you how disappointing that was. I've been eating laksa all my life (across many different cultural interpretations, including and especially Singaporean) and I haven't had any this bad, EVER. The soup was so thick my fork stood up in the bowl, it was AS thick if not THICKER than an Indian curry sauce. Unhappy with that, I asked for the meal to be replaced with the pho. Equally disappointing. I've had pho in Inala for less than half the price of what they charge here that was three times as good. This basically tasted like really intense beef stock cube water and soy sauce with really flimsy, chopped-up noodles and no options for meat/toppings bar overcooked beef. Thank god I had a 2 for 1 voucher... would never waste money paying full price here. 2 stars (1 extra for nice, attentive wait staff).

Yelp
Let me start off by saying I am an American. I really know nothing about pho and do not have the palette to describe what this pho had/didn't have compared to what I've had in the states. All I know, is that this was the worst pho I've ever tasted. Glorified beef broth and soy sauce. There is no possible way this is the same broth that takes a day or more to make. None of the aromas coming off it like I am use to, no where close to the amazing taste I have been craving for nearly three weeks. I went to satisfy a craving and left wishing I could get the taste out of my mouth. The best part of the meal was the chocolate at the end that still didn't even do that. I am very sad and disappointed that I didn't get what I had hoped for. If you know pho, don't go, unless I am just am idiot...

Yelp
watched every tv show and have the dvds, Im married to a Vietnamese girl and spend a lot of time in Vietnam so Ive eaten loads and loads of PHO. I dont know about 20hr broth it tasted more like 20 min broth with a few stock cubes thrown in, extremely salty and at $18 plus dollars a go way overpriced, you can get far better PHO in Sunnybank and Inala at less than $10. I thought having put his name to this eatery it would be special....all I can say is its special allright specially bad very dissappointing and I wont go back. My wifes PHO is far superior to this.. Sorry Luke you should remove yourself from this eatery.

Yelp
Welcoming atmosphere, great food (the laksa was excellent) and efficient, friendly service! Will definitely return.

Yelp
Yum yum yum. Great value, tasty food. Laksa and Pad Se Yew are stand out dishes. Love that you get the green tea to cleanse the palette too. Perfect if you are in a rush on an evening. The longest wait can be getting a seat!
