"Fat Oysters Seafood Restaurant does Vietnamese-style seafood right. Crabs, clams, mussels, shrimps, squid, and snails are cooked in a variety of savory sauces such as tamarind, garlic butter, chili or coconut juice sauce. Bò hàu sốt phô mai (grilled beef and oysters in cheese sauce) is a specialty. Live boiled crawfish is also available when in season." - Didi Paterno

Went with family and it was pretty good. Would I go back yes. Waitress was nice and accommodating 10/10. I got the 1lbs shrimp and 1 lb of crawfish garlic and hot (rating 8/10), sweet snail tamarind was really good (9/10). Fried catfish with fries 6/10. Garlic noodles 8/10. Cheese corn 7.5/10 Update 6/25/25 All you can eat for $40 wasn’t to bad. Note I tried garlic butter and hot wasn’t to spicy and to much butter. The next round I did garlic and extra hot came out perfect. Shrimp and craw was really good. Octopus was okay in my opinion.

We went here with a group of friends and we all got the "All You Can Eat" menu. With Crawfis, Shrimp, Clams, Crab etc......The Crawfish is so fresh, big and so good. Clams and Octopus are very good too. Come try them out only $40 per person.

The crawfish is great! Love the Asian garlic butter flavor is great!!! $7.99/lb can’t beat that price at other crawfish places! Did the happy hour oysters too!

I chose this Vietnamese restaurant because of its extensive seafood menu, featuring dishes prepared in traditional Vietnamese style. As someone who loves Vietnamese seafood, I appreciate the owner's efforts to bring authentic flavors to the table. The menu looks promising, and the restaurant's spacious interior is a plus. However, during my Saturday dinner visit, the place was surprisingly quiet, with only a few tables occupied. The grilled oysters and crawfish were delicious, although I wish the size of the oysters & crawfish were larger. The crispy calamari was okay, but a bit chewy. I hope the owner and the chef will continue to improve the food and service so that both Vietnamese and American customers will keep coming back.

Google
One of the freshest and tastiest crawfish I’ve had. The service was polite and the place is very spacious. It’s also kid friendly during the time we went. It’s BYOB and the claw machine is fun for kids and is very fair with prizes.

The food was good except for the crawfish. Needs a lot more flavoring and they should soak their crawfish before serving them. Overall, good place.

Google
Get the grilled razor snails with green onion and peanut! SUPER YUMMY! They know how to make it delicious and super easy to eat with they way they prepared it. I also tried all of their different style oyster since it was happy hour even on a Sunday. All of them are really good. I just didn’t like the raw oyster since it wasn’t cold enough for me and the charbroiled oyster taste was too strong. I do think the oysters can be clean a little bit better. I also tried the apple snails. They were good but too difficult for me to take out.

Yelp
Our first time visiting and we have missed all these dishes we used to get in California. We ordered 7 different dishes and some appetizers as well. For 2 people, you could say we were starving! They didn't disappoint! Service was fast, very friendly, and they made sure we had the best experience. It's a large space for plenty of dining and it has a scooter inside. Three tvs were on with each showing different vietnamese street food being prepared. We were surprised that it wasn't packed for as good as it was! This place is a gem, a must-go dining destination if you love Vietnamese food.

Yelp
writing review after 3rd time going to Fat Oysters. the atmosphere is super chill and relax. you can talk to people the table next over and it's cool. almost a k'ub vibe. they have All You Can Eat for those of you with big appetites. we got the family deal plus 1 extra pound of boiled crawfish in garlic sauce. we got raw oysters which was nice and fat. put some lemon juice, tabasco sauce and you good. they are usually busy during the weekends. everything was juicy, corn was plump, sausage was tasty. all in all it was outstanding. for people who say there are roaches. you must not cook much, EVERY restaurant has roaches. it ain't like they substituting crawfish with roaches. i don't believe many of the bad reviews cuz i've been to Fat Oyster 3 times now and i am selective where i eat. there is one single waitress so you have to be patient and try and understand she is trying to handle the whole dame place on her own. this place rocks! it has become my crawfish spot. the food is authentic and taste great. personally i don't care how the customer service is, i care only if the food is good and it is at Fat Oysters.

Yelp
The crawfish here was the best thing and I'd rate it a 3 out of 5. That's pretty sad. The place was really dirty and roach infested. Don't believe what they've got on social media because you will end up disappointed. Service is rude. Idk if it's a language barrier but she did not display any kind of welcoming customer service.

Yelp
Fat Oysters specialize in Vietnamese Style seafood I'm not talking just a seafood boil, they have a huge menu with soooo many interesting options I've never seen before. They have happy hour on 4-7PM on weekdays and 12-5PM on weekends (on food). Crawfish is $7.99/lb, Oysters $1.50 for raw, $1.89 for cooked! They don't have liquor license yet but it's BYOB and they are open until late even on weekdays. (4/5) Oysters They have ten types of different oysters (raw or cooked) and we got to try a variety of cooked ones. My favorite was rockefeller I liked that it wasn't too greasy. The grilled cheese one wasn't bad either surprisingly. (4.5/5) Seafood Combo (Garlic Butter, Mild) The seasonings have good flavor yet it's not greasy so it's easy on your stomach. All the seafood were decently sized. (5/5) Clams  Steamed with Lemongrass This was my favorite item! You can really taste the light but fragrant clam in the soup and it pairs so well with lemongrass. I could not stop eating it. (4.5/5) Grilled Beef and Oysters with  Cheese Sauce This is their new Vietnamese seafood item It's like a hotpot with enoki mushroom, okra, onion, egg, sliced beef, and oysters and you eat them with french bread. The egg yolk and shredded cheese make it very creamy and addicting (FYI it is a little sweet). They don't skimp on the ingredients either. (4.5/5) Grilled Scallop with Quail Egg, Green Onion, & Peanut The aesthetic on the scallops were The meat was plump and combined with the egg, it was very filling.

Yelp
Food: crawfish, shrimp, and oysters were fresh. Service: good service very attentive. Ambiance: place is okay not anything to the extreme. I really loved the oyster sashimi was really good. Overall good experience. I would try again.

Yelp
I saw a post about a $1.50 raw oyster special, so came to try it out. The raw oysters were pretty good. We also tried the Rockefeller oysters and the garlic Parmesan. Both were good as well. The cooked oysters were on the smaller side. There's plenty of seating inside. It was pretty empty on Saturday at noon. There's plenty of parking since this is inside a plaza.

Yelp
Tried Fat Oysters twice recently and I had a great experience. The food was amazing. So amazing I had to come back again within a few days. On my first visit, I wasn't expecting to do a boil but they had a sign at the front for $7.99/lb crawfish. I tried their crawfish and their sashimi oysters and I was in heaven. They had happy hour on oysters besides the sashimi so I tried the charbroiled oysters as well. Everything was delicious. Charbroiled were great especially for $1.69/oyster but the sashimi oysters is where it's at. I craved it for days after having it. The fresh oysters with quail egg and sauce they added on really made my mouth water. The crawfish boil was also done just right with the right amount of butter, cajun and garlic. Majority of the crawfish seemed fresh. Only 1-2 were not. My friend ordered the snails and I tried them. They were large in size and very tasty. As for my next trip, I tried their crab and crawfish boil - as well as reordering the sashimi oysters. I actually had came for their AYCE seafood boil but they said they discontinued it. They had a huge ad for it on the front of the restaurant though. We told them they should consider taking it down. Either way, we enjoyed the food and will come back.

Yelp
Don't go to this restaurant. I ordered chicken wings and various seafood. The chicken wings were like they were days old and tasted rotten! Then the seafood platter that came up had hair in it! It felt dirty!

Yelp
1. There was no happy hour even though they have it advertised on their social media. 2. We were a large party and food was missing. Sausage with the combo. My son in law ordered lobster. We waited 45 minutes for the waitress to tell us that there was no lobster. Why not tell us you don't have lobster from the beginning? 3. We ordered 12 oysters and where only given 6. 4. We ordered garlic noodles which never came out. 5. There was a roach crawling on the chairs. The waitresses just grabbed, killed and tossed it on the floor. Do Not recommend this place!!!!

Yelp
We visited as a party of 3 during the week for lunch. Gosh, we were so hopeful and excited based off marketing we had seen on social media, but we left whole disappointed. We were sat quickly, but that's where the service ended. After we had ordered, 2 tables that were sat after us with a party of 4 got their oysters before us. We wanted onion rings, and they were out. We ordered herbal tea that never came to the table. Food finally came out and was mediocre at best and brought to us lukewarm. Calamari ended up being calamari rings, that looked like it should've been onion rings. We were confused at first. It tasted as something out of frozen section like Gordon's fishermen fish sticks. Chicken wings were dry and flavorless, served with buffalo sauce that reminded us of chick fil a buffalo sauce. Charbroiled and grilled cheese oysters were lukewarm and not good. Charbroiled oysters looked boiled or steamed but not charbroiled at all. Grilled cheese oysters had hollandaise type sauce on them and the cheese looked runny as if it had been sitting in the back. Seafood pasta was flavorless, overcooked. Dumplings were undercooked. Not crispy and stuffed with green veggies I had several people send me the videos they had seen on IG on this place and it was a catfish post and nothing like the marketing. We won't be back. 1/10.

Yelp
We came right at opening at was told they were out of the fried rice dish. My sister said they went a few weeks before and was told the same thing. I just think they are making the rice dish at this time. It would be better to say it's not available at this time than we're out as it looks bad right before opening and rice is not that hard to get lol The seafood is really fresh and it did not disappoint. I prefer raw oysters over cooked but their cooked oysters were all tasty. The crablegs were good too. I prefer the sauce at boiling crab/crab station better but it was still good. The dipping sauces they have is really good though.

Yelp
I was pretty skeptical after reading these reviews. Thankfully on Google there's a better response. So we went for it. Tried the mussels, chargrilled oysters, charbroiled oysters, garlic Parmesan oysters, and pork dumplings. Were they close to the best oysters I ever had, no. Were they good enough to eat, yes. Restaurant looked clean.

Yelp
I've gone a few times now for happy hour and have tried a few of their items. Happy hour is only for their oysters, any style except sashimi for 1.50 each. Oysters were good, however, they take awhile to come out and they don't cut the connecting muscle so it's really tough to eat. My favorites are the raw and charbroiled. My friend and I were the only ones in the restaurant at the time and we ordered a variety of oysters all at once.. raw oysters came out in about 15 min...but it took like an hour to finally get the entire order to us. Plus we almost burned ourselves eating the grilled oysters because the shells were hot, but we had to handle them in order to release the oyster since the connective muscle wasn't cut. So be careful! Table favorite were the Thai style clams. Tangy and spicy and full of flavor! So good we ordered seconds. Their boiled seafood was disappointing. Snow crab and shrimp either wasn't fresh or was overcooked. Flavor was good, but i found the cajun sauce to be super oily. Overall, they have a lot of variety and options... but given the choice, I would probably go somewhere else.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday with family at 4pm during happy hour. They were out of a lot of stuff but everything that did come out was delicious. We originally came for AYCE but they informed us that they no longer do that. We were disappointed at first but once all of the food came out we quickly forgot about it. I would recommend going during happy hour! The grilled squid was delicious with the sauce however the fried calamari was basic. They served it with ketchup. We requested siracha & mayo & made our own sauce. The grilled cheese oysters was our favorite, we kept ordering more before happy hour was over. I would come back to try other stuff on the menu.

Yelp
Casual BYOB shop serving a combination of Cajun boil seafood and Vietnamese grilled/boiled seafood. Server were nice and did their best to serve all tables in a timely manner but were overwhelmed at times. Pricing was on the high side for the amount of food served. Most of the food served are cooked from frozen products. All the grilled dishes were over cooked and a bit dry.
google avatar

Yelp
Prices are decent--everything is extra such as potatoes for your crawfish. Oysters are okay. Young lady who waitresses does come by regularly to discard shells.

Yelp
The food here is very good and flavorful, especially the oysters. They just need to get a better ordering system down, like write the orders on paper to make sure each table get their correct orders. Our order was taken electronically on a tiny handheld device , OF COURSE like most of the reviews stated and it happened to table next to us. They too missed our order! Not everything came out and we asked the waitress and the guy from the back said order was never put in, then we made a 2nd order that was not put in either. The food is very good, but need better service systems.

Yelp
It pains me a bit to write this review but hopefully this is used by the business to improve and this restaurant has a lot of potential. We were in the area and wanted to try a new restaurant, after researching a bit we found Fat Oyster which is an Asian style spin on various seafood dishes. Let's start off with the positive. The service was great, attentive and overall friendly staff in which we were seated quickly. We first got the baked oyster which was the highlight of the entire experience as you just can't beat butter, green onion, and sweet oyster flavors. Moving onto the crawfish, we asked if it was live and they confirmed it was indeed. The price was pretty low and we went for it. Boy were we disappointed, it was indeed tasted like dead and frozen crawfish which for the first time in years I couldn't finish it. 2/10 rating on this dish. We then got the the most unique dish which is this family style, hot pot, full of meat, cheese, eggs, tons of oysters and random other ingredients. The one ingredient which made this pretty awful was some kind of cocktail red sauce which just made everything together taste quite funky. The meat was clearly of low quality and overall we couldn't finish this dish at all. It has too much going on there and unfortunately another dish we couldn't finish. They did give an abundance of oyster meat which was a huge plus. 3/10 rating. Overall we probably won't be back and always love supporting Vietnamese restaurant but they clearly have a lot to improve on where dropping $80 for two people we were very disappointed. Wish nothing but the best and hopefully the restaurant improves in the future!

Yelp
Went there to try their crawfish because the season just started. I have eaten there in the past but wasn't pleased. Decided to come back to give it a 2nd chance. Crawfish tasted okay this why it received an extra star for the crawfish. This place needs some serious works and pest control. The service was super slow. After placing my order, I saw a super mini roach on the table. I was like uhhh..... After 30 mins, the crawfish finally came out. Crawfish tasted a tad bland but later after the crawfish had soaked into the flavoring, it was better. I went to go wash my hands afterwards and I'ma just let the video speak for itself....all-in-all... Never coming back.

Yelp
We ordered the grilled oysters with onion and peanuts. They were on the smaller side and didn't have much flavor to them. It came with a side of fish sauce which also wasn't flavorful. Garlic noodles with seafood consisted of dried mussels and baby shrimp. The noodles resembled spaghetti noodles topped with Parmesan cheese which ruined the dish. It overpowered the garlic and the butter. Service was very attentive as far as emptying out our trash bucket for crawfish. The only dish that was decent was the snails in tamarind sauce. I also ordered sugarcane juice which was canned not freshly squeezed. Overall, I wanted to like this place as it was recommended by a local. However, I will not be returning. Ambiance: We came on a Friday night during dinner time. It was empty which I found to be strange. There were several piles of deflated balloons that were on the floor from a birthday party. Again, not a good look on cleanliness. The tables were sticky.

Yelp
ROACH INFESTED! I was told there was a review about it being a roach hotel here and I just brushed it off thinking people were hating on this Asian business and I wanted to support. Plus they were on my list of restaurants to try. As we were waiting for our order, there was a live roach crawling on the chair my 7 year old was sitting on. I called for the owner and she nonchalantly brushed it off the chair and proceeded to serve our food. I was ready to up and leave but she started bringing out our order. I thought ok, maybe it was just one roach. Then I looked around and found more crawling on the floor and dead ones!!! Again, I told the owner and she wiped down the table next to us and asked if we just wanted to switch tables. The bathroom outlet had roach droppings all around it and on the counter! I found more dead roaches on the floor along the way back to our table. I was mortified. And on top of that, the service was awful. Our food came out one by one with our last dish coming out 45 mins later from our first dish. We only ordered seafood boil and oysters. Nothing complicated. She advertised her prices a few days ago on FB and didn't keep her word. Nothing on there indicated the price was a limited time offer. While advertising $7.99/lb we were charged $9.99/lb. Then their menu said $1.69 for HH oysters and we came between their HH hours but were told they are no longer offering HH oyster pricing....even though its on their menu..... She as in the owner - who was very stoic and nonchalant as if she didn't care for our business. A table of 10 who was forced gratuity which I can respect if it was earned.

Yelp
Fat Oysters recently opened - in the plaza where Central Market is. BYOB CURRENTLY - they will serve alcohol but they did not have and told us that we were allowed to bring any alcohol in I'm a sucker for oysters and seafood and after seeing their menu I was determined to go check it out ASAP. I gathered a group of 15 people to check out the newly restaurant. I called a few hours ahead and made a reservation for 15. When we arrived the tables were set up already for the large group. There are FOUR different menus - drink/alcohol menu, AYCE (all you can eat) menu, regular menu and a seafood make your own combo or by pound menu. ALL YOU CAN EAT - see picture below. It's 34.99 PER person - with our large party group we had people that wanted to do AYCE to the left side of the large table and a la carte to the right side. You get three rounds, order as much as you can. Flavors include garlic butter or cajun, we asked if you could mix both flavors and they said yes so we did that. I opted out of AYCE because I wanted to spoil myself with some crab legs. My significant other sitting left of me and at the cut off of AYCE definitely ate his money's worth. His first batch he ordered EXTRA HOT which is the highest spicy level and it was to be honest mild. The flavor was good. By the time him and the others ordered their third round, flavor, and taste decreased a whole lot. All of the seafood had this gunk black color and it did not taste well. All of the AYCE people were ordering their rounds and I'm guessing for a large party it can be difficult to keep up with and people would get the wrong thing or they wouldn't remember who ordered what. MY ORDER: I ordered the personal #5 which comes with 1 cluster of snow crab, headless 1/2 pound of shrimp with 1 corn and 1 potato. As the AYCE kept ordering their rounds and getting it quickly, I was one of the first people who ordered my food and did not come out till an HOUR later...after telling the server many times and they would tell me that the kitchen was making it still which didn't make sense as everyone else was finishing up their food and getting all of their orders. After an hour, they brought out my food and it was completely wrong, I told them what I had ordered AGAIN. At that point, I was no longer hungry and lost my appetite. I ordered a mix of flavors of garlic butter and cajun and flavor was good but my spice level of medium did not match. OYSTERS: -Charbroiled oysters - overall good and with flavor -Oysters sashimi - not sure I would get it again - has potential. Raw oyster with quail egg, seaweed and caviar. You get 6 for $30 so $5 each -Raw oysters - 1 dozen for $25 and they have 3 different sauces you can put on As a new restaurant, I say they have some work to do with staffing, handling large parties, and overall quality of food. I would give it a second chance after a few months to try other things. Parking - tons of parking they DO take reservations - call ahead. They are starting a happy hour for oysters from what their Facebook site shows. $1.49 for any style of oyster Monday - Wednesday 4PM-6:30PM Thursday - Sunday 3PM - 5PM

Yelp
I know these guys are starting off so you have to give them some time to adjust and get better. Some things you can learn and grow from and other things are just plain greed. Things that are cheap: fries, pasta, and salad. These guys take it to another level. The portions were tiny. You can't get full off a fried seafood sandwich/ po boy plate, they give you about 20 fries (literally) and the saddest bagged salad you ever seen. And it was sparsely on there like it was the most expensive ingredient. These guys need to take a look in the mirror and ask themselves do they feel proud serving half portions of food?

Yelp
Food took so long to come out, portion by portion. Like every 15 minutes. It's so disappointing because I really want to like this place. Half of our food was cold when it came out unfortunately but they were so understaffed they couldn't do anything about it. Presentation was not there either. Just so disappointed because we lost so much time just sitting and waiting for the food to wait another 15-20 minutes for the next course.

Yelp
We just ate a fat oyster. It was clean. We had the shrimp and small octopus. Great flavor just a nice little bite. Only thing we've had is it needs a little bread to soft up the great gravy

Yelp
I really gotta stop trusting Instagram reels for certain food places... I was hoping this place was good and a potential HH for good oysters but it just didn't hit the mark. Place is very spacious and employees working were nice. Came around 4pm for their HH and the place had about 5 or so other tables. Ordered 2 dozen oysters and wished we didn't. They came out quick and were huge but they were dry? No brine liquid left like other places. It came with a honey mustard sauce?? as well as the typical cocktail sauce, no horseradish. It was just weird. We needed something else to eat so order their beef noodles. Lots of garlic and butter flavor which was good. Honestly I don't write low rated reviews and social media definitely hyped this place up. Sad I was disappointed

Yelp
just wanted to share my experience from the restaurant we tried on Sunday afternoon. Honestly, the food was pretty disappointing. We were the only ones there, and the service was lacking. The crawfish had a sour taste, and the oysters weren't cleaned properly--they tasted off. The wings were plain, and the instant noodles with razor clams didn't impress at all. The snow crab was tiny and overcooked, leaving it really dry. To top it off, our waitress was on her phone most of the time and didn't pay attention to our order. When she finally brought out the food, she just threw it on the corner of our table, which felt really rude. The wait for our food was way too long as well. We're definitely not going back, and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

Yelp
Came here for lunch today after seeing this place on social media. The one account I followed said this place was amazing. Unfortunately I must say I have to disagree. I came in with my daughter around 12 ish; there were two tables eating when we were sat. We were greeted quickly and sat; the lady that waited on us started out nice. I wanted to try a few different things. I ordered the fried catfish for my daughter. It came with fries and it was cooked perfectly and it was really thick pieces of fish; the downfall.... No flavor whatsoever. The fries had no salt and there was NO seasoning in the batter for the fish. I ordered the squid (#22) that was cooked perfectly and was very delicious; honestly this was the best thing I ordered. I also got the oysters number 1-6 (It was happy hour prices so I got a dozen, 2 of each kind) The oysters were decent. I really liked the peanut one with the sauce they brought. The others were okay. The raw ones were warm, not cold... so I did not like that very much. The last thing I ordered was the personal #1 with the shrimp and baby octopus. I got it Cajun style very hot. It was not Cajun and not very hot. I don't know what they put in their boil or sauce but it wasn't that great. Definitely not Cajun! The sauce/boil is much better at Crab Station or Storming Crab, it was really clumpy too... the sauce. Some of the shrimp was overcooked and hard to peel. There wasn't much flavor to the shrimp after peeling. When the waitress did finally come back to my table I asked for chili oil and peppers to make it spicier; she did bring me chili peppers and lemons but she brought me more of the sauce that was on my seafood instead of chili oil. I asked for just the oil she said they didn't have any.... But that was the base of the sauce. Another waiter then brought me the oil. After making my own sauce it was a bit better but not fantastic. After that she literally just stopped coming to the table. I had stacked all the plates and was waiting for her to come with the check so I could ask for a box too. My daughter had to go ask for the box and then after that she played on her phone behind the counter instead of bringing the bill. So we had to flag her down again for that so we could get the check. I worked in the service industry for years and I am extra considerate with waitstaff because I've been there; but the customer service from her ruined the whole dining experience. Even though the food was meh if she would've been nicer it would've made it so much better for her tip wise. The place is huge and has lots of potential; but in my opinion they need to work of the seafood boil recipe because that Cajun extra hot they advertise is anything but Cajun seasoning. I feel that everything on the Asian menu is probably better than the boiled seafood. Because the squid dish was really tasty. For the almost $100 lunch bill today I didn't leave wanting to come back. The hype on social media was not the experience advertised.

Yelp
Went to eat boiled crawfish last night m. Told the waitstaff that almost half of the batch was really soft when I squeezed the tail and didn't seem fresh. The staff and owner came out and stood in front of me and picked at it with their bare hands and ate it telling me the crawfish was fresh and it tasted fine to them. Um... I've eaten a lot of crawfish over the years and I know when they are dead or not fresh. We also ordered their fried catfish to go. Got home and the fried catfish tasted bad like a fishy funny taste. Had to throw it away. Not ever going back there again.

Yelp
I hate to write such a low rating review, but this is from my experience when I went there on Friday. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out because we saw the advertisement for the happy hour oysters ($1.69 for any style of oysters except the oyster sashimi). We went there around 3, we got seated right away, and we already noticed it seemed to be one person tending to all the tables. So we already had an understanding that there might be a wait but it's okay cause there was only one person. Fast forward to us ordering (we ordered half dozen of oyster grilled cheese, oyster grilled cheese w onion and peanuts, oyster grilled, charbroiled oysters, raw oysters, oyster grilled cheese w caviar). The first set that came out after 20 minutes were the raw oysters. After finishing those we waited about another 10 minutes before the next set was brought out which were the charbroiled oysters. The next sets were brought out another 20 minutes later which were the grilled cheese, oyster grilled, and they added 6 extra charbroiled for free cause the wait. After 10 more minutes our grilled cheese with onions and peanut came out. At this point it's been about an hour and some and we haven't gotten the rest of our order and we were only ordering just the oysters. While the other tables around us were getting their other entrees before us even after being seated after us. We waited about 5-7 minutes to see if our last one was coming out and it still wasn't out so we decided to just ask them to cancel our order and we'll just check out. Overall we didn't have such a great experience here, I hope down the road everything will work out for them because the waitress was nice, but the wait for appetizers (oysters) was just a little outrageous

Yelp
I was referred to this restaurant by someone else who is a foodie...so I took my girl there for a girls date/nightmare. Eat at your own risk. We share our orders as we always do. Less than 24 hrs later... we shared our nightmare. Food poisoning and EVERYTHING that goes along with it and because we're that close, into detail. You don't want to know or risk it on your own. We ordered the oysters, yes they were good at the time, we ordered the snails, they were "okay" at the time...but we are both working on 48hrs of recovery time from the food poisoning. Her and I were the only ones sick even after eating the same bbq dinner with others later that evening. Although good at the moment...it's cost me 70+ dollars in Dr bill and loss of work for both of us.

Yelp
The wait to order your oysters does take a while but they have a pretty decent happy hour with pretty tasty oysters. Service was fine and ambiance was pretty chill. The escargot was surprisingly good would recommend they provide smaller fork or something to get them out that was pretty tough.

Yelp
Y'all please don't go her the service was really bad, it took them so long to take our order, they tried to tell us happy hour wasn't available when the menu when we were at the proper time. We ordered a dish and turns out they didn't even have it and didn't even bother to say anything. The food was bland and small the only good thing about the seafood that we ordered that the sauce was ok. All of the food came out at separate times and some were missing stuff. Yes they were short staffed as we showed up but they should really be making sure they have people and not just one server for the whole restaurant. They still in the end didn't make anything right, didn't make anything right we will payed full price for everything even the stuff that was wrong didn't take anything off the check nothing . We should have left so much sooner, before we even got our food a rouch was crawling on one of our party's chair. Will never go again, yall stay clear from here

Yelp
If there was an option, I would give this restaurant zero stars. First off, our waitress came over and set waters down without speaking a word to us. We had to flag her down to ask for drinks. Then she advised us to order immediately because it was going to get busy. So we rushed our order in. We needed napkins and a bottle opener (the restaurant is byob). Again, we had to flag her down. I would understand if she was busy helping other tables but each time she was standing in the corner. And every time she came over to drop something off, not a single word. We didn't even finish our meal, but we were so fed up with the blatantly rude service, we asked for the tab. For the fifth time, I had to find her and walk by to my table with her to get serviced. When she showed us our tab, it only showed the total and asked for the tip. After I came home I thought the tab seemed high for what we ordered. I called the restaurant and drove back there to get an itemized receipt. She charged us for gratuity for a table of 5 when the receipt said gratuity applies to parties of 6. And there was an item we ordered but we never received. Overall, she was tipped 38% for the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. I explained what happened to the owner so he was okay with refunding one of the tips and removed the item we never received. I received no apology or acknowledgment from the owner either. The waitress seemed inconvenienced we sat at her table, and then the owner seemed inconvenienced I questioned my tab. Please do not eat here and continue to support a business that treats their customers this poorly.

Yelp
Pretty good steal for $1.50 happy hour oysters. They were fresh and our favorite was the grilled cheese with green onion and peanut. You can only eat like 3-4 until the richness gets to you. All oysters are included except the sashimi option. The service is super friendly and attentive. Ambiance is okay a little lacking but hey the oysters delivers so come give it a try.

Yelp
Do you like happiness? If so, do yourself a favor and order a plate of their shrimp satay and their beyond flavorful dipping sauces. It's cheaper than buying a jet ski and brings almost as much happiness! I came for their oysters which, don't get me wrong, are delicious as well. They know how to cook the oysters really well. The meat was juicy and still tender, not rubbery at all. The cheese oysters look so much more delicious in real life than in pics and the sauce they come in is like a non-spicy dynamite sauce. I also got the satay oysters which were deliciously seasoned and well cooked. But the star of the show was the satay shrimp and Fat Oyster's sauces for me! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and also massive. If you can excuse my icky nails, I took a close up of the meat so you can see how bouncy and tender the shrimp is. It ate more like lobster than shrimp! And the grill smell was 10/10 on these guys. Paired with either the green seafood sauce (a little viscous but BURSTING with fresh herby flavor) or the ginger fish sauce (like an upgraded nuoc cham) it was so good I legit missed my exit driving home thinking about them. The servers were all really nice and attentive. And the overall restaurant was roomy and nice. But to be honest, for about an hour, my world narrowed to just peel shrimp, suck juices out of head, dip in sauce, eat and repeat. They could have done a naked conga line in front of me and I wouldn't have noticed. If only I wasn't doing a dry January, a beer would have made the perfect pairing. The only thing I was kinda meh on was the sweet snails. I like river snail noodles so decided to give them a try. The garlic fish sauce that came with them was the bomb! But the snail meat wasn't entirely to my taste. Was more of a lighter flavor. Wasn't bad but was overshadowed by everything else (cough shrimp cough) It's also in the same plaza as Central Market! Which means I'll be volunteering to get groceries (and secret shrimp) much more often.

Yelp
Very spacious. Food is pretty good but the larger snails are over cooked, which made them very chewy and hard. Oysters and scallops were delicious.

Yelp
We had 2 dozen oysters one dozen was broiled and had a really good sauce, the other was raw and they were nice and big My daughter had crawfish, but none of their stuff comes with anything and it's already pricey everything is extra as add-on so I think it should. If you're gonna have a boil, it should come potatoes and corn minimum. The people spoke when you came in they were not unfriendly, but they weren't friendly either. They were kind of stingy on the sauces that they gave ketchup, cocktail sauces, and we had to ask for more . My grandson really liked the architecture in there the way the walls were made and painted, but all in all the food is good

Yelp
The beer blue crabs were so small barely had meat but they were cheap so I guess you get what you pay for even still not worth 16.00. The best thing they had was the crawfish the seasoning on it was great and the sauce was good. The chargrilled cheese oyster had a funny weird taste to it I don't know what kind of sauce they had on ours but it was not appetizing overall we went for happy hour because it seemed like such a good deal it just wasn't worth it to us food was mid at best maybe it's because they're still new and trying different things but it wasn't good to me. Service was slow as well they didn't even bring my friends food then still attempted to charge her for it at the end overall will not be returning until they get a lil more seasoned maybe it's just because they are new and still getting in there swing.

Yelp
I stopped by Fat Oyster this past Saturday around 7:15 PM, and I was completely shocked to find that they were "sold out." I get that sometimes things run out, but to be completely cleaned out of the entire menu is unacceptable. I highly doubt they were legitimately sold out of every single item they offer while still allowing customers to enter the restaurant, so I'm not sure if they were just trying to close early or what the deal was, but this was a terrible experience. I won't be returning to Fat Oyster anytime soon, and I would caution others in the Richardson area to think twice before visiting..... Very disappointing overall.

Yelp
Needs more employees. Seems like there was only 1 employee that cared to be friendly, and 1 who knew where items were. Food took a while to come out. There were about maybe 5 tables that left without even getting all their food. Luckily, I was chatting with my friends and didn't mind/notice how long the wait was. But it did take a while. I would give grace for a newly opened restaurant, but it seemed like nothing was being done about the customers who left, like they didn't really care. Also, why is fear factor playing in an eating establishment? I'm not easily queezy, but others might be! Finally, about the food taste itself, it's alright. If you're looking for a niche spot with snails and oysters, it's ALRIGHT. Not the best I would say. Apple snails were good, but I've had better. Oysters were pretty tasty, I had the charboiled ones and they were actually good! The crawfish is a decent size and well cooked. It wasn't mushy or sticking to the shell. However, the meat itself isn't really seasonsed, so I had to dip it in the sauce that covers the shells. This is a personal preference, but I look for seasoning in the crawfish meat. Some people like the sauce to dip and it being smothered, so if that's for you, this is good! Not my taste tho.

Yelp
The food is delicious and reasonably priced for the portions. The service is amazing and attentive. The ambiance is very nice with plenty of tv's and nice music. Highly recommend eating here. Had it yesterday and came right back today!

Yelp
Save your money and appetite and don't waste it here. Service and food is bad. We came in as a party of 20 and there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant but we still got very slow service. The worker Asian lady picked her boogers right in front of us behind the cashier while we tried to get her attention for the check. This restaurant won't last. Waste of space.

Yelp
Been here twice and it keeps getting better with each visit! Food was delicious, service was a bit slow, but the flavors made up for it. Will be back soon!

Yelp
I there with my family and we ordered the seafood tower, oysters, snails and fried rice. The seafood tower was disappointing, only the raw oysters were fresh and good. All the other seafood (crab, lobster, shrimp, etc) were not fresh. They served the seafood with store bought dipping sauce which is really thick. We had to ask for extra lemons and cocktail sauce. They were either overcooked or were previously frozen. The snails were ok. The fried rice was a disappointing, the rice was soggy and had no flavor. The restaurant is big however it was cold! Not sure if they don't have heaters or they just wanted to keep the place cool. The servers are nice.
