Fat Phill’s - Review - Clapham - London - The Infatuation

"Netherlands burger chain Fat Phill’s has opened its first branch in the UK. And this Clapham Junction spot is all about stacked, smashed patties with things like truffle mayo and crispy onions. They’ve also got Philly cheesesteaks and pots of melted cheese for dipping. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Sorry to say but this was disappointing. The burger itself wasn’t bad and quite tasty, but the price of £13 for this was no way near justified. Had the buffalo wings as a side and these were alright. Friends did say that the cheesesteak sub was really good and value for money. Overall too expensive for what we got. Really wanted this to be great.

I have passed by this eatery several times since it opened, and finally decided to give it a try. The food was good - I had the loaded Philly cheese steak fries and a drink. There was a surprising amount of steak on the fries, and unlike most loaded fries I've had, the filling covered more than just the top layer - no dry fries eaten! My one criticism would be the amount of salt on the food. I don’t think the fries needed to be so salty when there's salty cheese topping them. It would also have been nice to have the option of adding ketchup, but there was none on any of the tables. Will be back to try other items on the menu

📍 Fat Phill's UK 📍 Clapham Junction About the place: I didn’t know much about Fat Phill’s before stepping in—just spotted the bold advertising and followed my instincts. Turned out to be a very good decision. What I ordered: Meal Deal – Double Cheeseburger, Seasoned Fries & a Drink for £14.95 How was it? Flavour-packed, great value, and honestly, they blow the competition out of the water in this area. What I liked: The smashburger was delicious, but I take my fries seriously—and these were fresh, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Just as important as the burger, and they nailed both. Would I go back? No question. I was tempted to double back the same day. Next time, I’m going for the Philly Cheesesteak. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 stars is the most I give on a first visit.) #FatPhills #FatPhillsUK #SmashBurgers #LondonBurgers #BurgerHunt #ClaphamEats #FoodieLondon #FriesMatter #LondonFoodScene #FirstBiteReview #TravelingTastebuds #BreakingBreadwithBarry DISCLAMER: Please note all reviews are based on real visits to the listed establishment, items ordered, my personal experience on the day, and a true reflection of my visit.

Literally terrible. 25 minutes for a burned burger patty, and the saltiest chips and cheese sauce I’ve ver tasted. Ordering is a shambles, no one at the desk and the touch screens are incredible slow with an unclear menu. When we finally received our food, it is not good. How do you burn a burn to the point of being inedible. The restaurant is also filthy. Trays just left on tables. £44 for burned burgers, frozen crinkle fries and salty as cheese sauce.

Ordering was OK, but having no meal deals is really poor. Prices are pretty high. Restaurant atmosphere was OK to snack, but not for relaxing. The food was excellent, the cheeseburger was very nice, and the fries very nice, but the chicken wings were questionable, slightly overdone. No idea of food readiness timescales - could do with a monitor to show you. 50/50 this place will succeed due to prices. Good luck !!!

Fantastic food! We tried the meaty burger, the Nashville fried chicken burger, loaded fries and mozzarella sticks. All amazing. Deffo recommend checking this place out if you need some fried goodness! Super convenient too right next to Clapham junction station. Will have to come back at some point for the milkshakes… thanks guys!

The best smash burgers available in a casual setting in comparison to other chains, albeit with a high price tag for a restaurant of this calibre. Oddly the burgers comes with the rare highlight rarely found in other burgers/burger restaurants considered "deluxe": no mess! Sufficient bun surface area with reasonable amounts of dressing and condiments result in an extremely satisfying consumption process. To reiterate, the double smashed cheeseburger was excellent and rich, with high quality ingredients noticeable via taste and texture. The Cheese-Turkeybacon fries were also a treat, a full-developed and deep flavour and generous sauce. Its higher prices means that it's not going to be replacing any casual chain, but if you like burgers of a higher quality Fat Phill's is definitely worth a try. Total cost of Double Cheeseburger + Turkeybacon Cheese Fries + Drink = £19.95

It's rare to find Philly Cheesteaks in London, let alone an authentic one! Their Cheesteaks are on point, and their chicken tenders were crispy yet succulent. The place is nice and clean with an open kitchen, well organised, modern interior, good vibes, and friendly staff. I will definitely be back next time I'm passing through the area to try their smash burgers and layered fries, as they both look ridiculous!
