Google
This is a good review. In the back left is where you order and when they call your number you design your burger. A few too many people in the kitchen. Definitely not cooks but place looked tight so good training. Burger a bit nuked and could only taste char. Freezer fries... But got'damn it was cool in there. Been on the island a decent amount of time and hated the storefront so much I walked right by but once you're inside up at the burger bar it's very chic. Was it worth 19$ for a burger and fries? Yes. Would I go again? Only to show someone who hasn't been there.

Google
Hopped over to OB for a short visit, stopped here to eat and wanted so badly to enjoy it but was severely disappointed. Absolutely no where to sit, lady taking orders was so unbelievably impatient and rude and the burgers might as well been two pounds of grease between a bun. I don’t usually like leaving a negative review, but when I blow $70 off very hard earned money on a couple burgers & fries that I could probably get a better version of at BK, it’s a little upsetting. Sorry,….. won’t be back

Google

Google
I was totally impressed with this place. My friend Vee kept raving about their lobster roll how good it was. I was skeptical at first because another place on Martha’s Vineyard was hyped up and it was a let down….but Fat Ronnie’s was on point. Lots of lobster meat and very very tasty. I gave it a 10 for sure.. follow me on IG @globaltravelimagery for more content

Google
The best fried chicken burger I've ever tasted. As well the hamburger was delicious. They have a great

Google
Fantastic food - by far the best deal on a lobster roll we found on the island. The burger was delicious and the lobster roll was absolutely packed with a half pound of deliciousness! No adult beverages served - so the pro tip is to eat your main meal here and then visit the other local establishments.

Google
Amazing natural, no antibiotic burgers 🍔 service was great 😊 food was amazing. All around great experience. Place is small so depending on the time of year don’t expect to get a seat. Still very much worth it.

Google
Great fish sandwich! Little dive place that has great food. Im very Kentucky and this place has the best fish sandwich I've ever had

Yelp
Every year, Fat Ronnie's holds the title for the best late-night spot in Oak Bluffs, and it's easy to see why! Open late, it's the perfect place to satisfy those midnight munchies after a night out. Sure, the lines can stretch a bit as everyone gathers for their late-night fix, but that just makes it feel like a big party. People chat and laugh while waiting, turning this burger joint into a social hotspot. The food never disappoints! With juicy, delicious burgers and a fun selection of toppings to customize your meal, you can't go wrong. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe, making you feel right at home. Plus, it's super affordable and kid-friendly! Just a heads up: it can get crowded and loud while waiting for your number, but trust me, once you bite into that burger, you'll know it was all worth it. Fat Ronnie's is a must-visit for a tasty late-night adventure!

Yelp
Came for lunch. Well positioned working circuit Ave near everything. Had a pretty good playlist going while waiting for food. Foods made fresh and there's a little wait but the burgers worth it. The fries were perfectly crispy. The Lobster Roll was okay - not the best I've had but also not the worst. Perhaps more burger on the lobster would have helped. Really burger that I'd recomend thoo

Yelp
I grew up visiting the vineyard every summer, so I was use to the food being mediocre at best. But this restaurant was so good! My family and I ate here twice during our 4 day stay. The burger was tender, the chicken tenders were crispy and so tasty, and we also loved the cheese fries. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back! The staff were so kind as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Walking in, it looks unassuming- similar to a fast food joint but the food is so much better. Service could have been better, it was our first time there and the staff seemed annoyed we didn't know how it worked. The woman at the register seemed like she was in a rush to get our order in. The food made up for the service- burgers are huge, they don't ask how you want your burger cooked though, mine was well done but still juicy. They have a toppings bar that you can choose from after your burger is ready- don't ask before.. they get annoyed, oops! Soda fountain is self serving, utensils are plastic. Not a lot of seating inside so maybe get it to go and eat at the beach. If I'm in the area I'll be back- just for the food- not the service
google avatar

Yelp
So good!! We shared a lobster roll & burger. Nice that you can customize your burger! Will make this a must visit on our next trip!

Antonio A.

Yelp
The space is tight, but the food is delicious. Lot's of ways you can make your burger and enjoy a soft drink while you wait. A great place to end a day on the Vineyard, because frankly you won't wanna be doing a lot more moving after eating what Fat Ronnies' got.
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
Review for the lobster roll. It was funky and frightening. Not fresh, tasted off. I had trouble digesting but was otherwise OK. I should have sent it back.
google avatar

Alethea S.

Yelp
Amazing burgers! Gentle and efficient service. The vibes were appropriate for all ages!
google avatar

Dontae R.

Yelp
This isn't context-specific. This is a very strong burger. I went mid-day and didn't hit some of the crazy lines that others experienced. But the bun and meat were both great and it's sort of a choose your own adventure from there. Pricing is a bit wonky but overall I was a big fan.
google avatar

Gerald M.

Yelp
The manager on August 6 was extremely rude, unprofessional and unnecessarily combative
google avatar

Marcus W.

Yelp
Simply, this may be the best turkey burger I've ever had (and I try them everywhere I go)! As many others have noted, they are juicy, well-seasoned, and delicious. The buns are toasted too! You can't go wrong with this
google avatar

Yelp
Fat Ronnie's Burger Bar was awesome.  It is a great place for all American street food.  I passed by the restaurant and couldn't escape the lure of the aroma. I ordered a 100% beef hot dog; flavorful beef, was cooked to perfection, with a nice snap to the casing. What really set it apart was the soft, toasted bun that had been generously buttered and grilled. The combination of the grilled, buttered bun with the fresh toppings added an extra layer of flavor and texture, making this classic hot dog an absolute treat. I'd highly recommend it for anyone visiting Martha's Vineyard and looking for a delicious buttery delight in a hot dog.
google avatar

Kelsi L.

Yelp
The burger here was absolutely delicious. I accidentally forgot to ask for any toppings and it was still good with just the burger, provolone cheese, and bbq sauce. I'm certain it'd be a 10/10 with the right toppings.

Bernard B.

Yelp
Great food and excellent service. Tasty hot dogs and hamburgers. Great location on Circuit Avenue. Reasonable prices.
google avatar

Josh S.

Yelp
Wow, in a word. The lobster roll was literally spilling over with meat, and tasted even better. The hot dog, fish and chips, just exceptional. This is a great stop for some exceptional food on the island.
google avatar

Malcolm B.

Yelp
I would consider myself a knowledgeable burger eater and last night at 10:30pm I one of the best burgers I've had all of 2023! It was spot on! From flat top sear to the bun was perfect. And then u get to run it thru the garden with whatever you to add. Me: bacon cheddar burger with L,T,P chipotle mayo and hot pepper relish. Fries are a must! Enjoy.
google avatar

Jake L.

Yelp
Burgers and food are really good, and the concept of decorating your burger after it's cooked is awesome. Go for the food, you won't be dissatisfied. The actual place is small and there is very minimal seating during the busy season. I was a little put off when we asked for water cups for our kids because they do not have juice or any drinks for children, we were charged $8.00 for 3 cups.
google avatar

Sydni R.

Yelp
Ok at best. This place was one of the FEW places opened at night past 10pm and therefore we felt like we had to try it out, especially when it's advertised as one of the best burger spots in the area. They told a fib. We can by on our way from the beach to grab a burger to cap off the amazing day we just had. The burgers were just ok, definitely could've used some seasoning, and for the the price paid (for 2 burgers, fries, and mac and cheese +tip was $53) it should have 'Wowed' us. The fries were meh and the mac and cheese definitely needed to be seasoned (I am so glad I didn't get the lobster mac and cheese for $19 because I would've been pissed). Will I be back? No. I'll stick to Five Guys.

Yelp
Everytime I am on the Island, I make a POINT of coming to get a burger and fries. I would do naughty naughty things to get a fat Ronnie's burger. The service is fast and you can get as many toppings as you want from their topping bar (with no extra price). The burger is enough reason alone to visit Ronnie, however the fries are also FANTASTIC. I have had both the regular and the sweet potato, and they are some of the crispiest fries I've ever had. I will also say, especially when comparing to other prices on the island, the food is quite reasonably priced for the portion size. You will certainly leave with a happy and full belly. If I lived closer, Fat Ronnie's would be a problem for me. I am not even usually a big burger eater, but something about Ronnie's burgers just really do it for me. They also have a great Instagram account. I want to try some of their other menu options, but everytime I go in there, without hesitation, before I know it, I'm ordering the Fat Ronnie with American cheese and a side of fries. Genuinely one of the best meals. I love Ronnie for creating what I truly think is probably the best burger I've ever had. And everytime I go, it is just as good. They must be cranking out hundreds of burgers everyday, so the quality control is pretty impressive. If you're on the island and craving a good burger, Ronnie's is the place to go.

Shirley M.

Yelp
Yummm! Burger was big & freshly grilled. Plenty of bacon & we got to add our own toppings. Good service & friendly staff. Burger & fries serving was enough for us to share.

Yelp
My husband and I had run out to grab a bite to eat with no real plan or direction when we walked by Fat Ronnie's. We ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese and Burger Sub with cheese. I don't know what I was expecting because I didn't know anything about Fat Ronnie's ahead of time so I was surprised that the food was so mouthwatering. Both orders were very rich, of course, but still had subtle great flavors all the same. I was especially surprised at how much lobster was in the mac and cheese. In Manhattan, it's almost hilarious how almost any lobster mac and cheese meal I've ever ordered is about 1% lobster and 99% pasta. When I looked up their website I discovered they have one other location which happened to be in my home town, Miami. I'll definitely check out that location next time I'm visiting my family.
google avatar

Jane C.

Yelp
Burgers, chicken tenders, fries - super simple menu- wish that they had ice cream floats or frappes or something like that to go with the burgers instead of soda - family run business and this is the first spot - the other spot is in Miami. Open late and always open when no one else is. Burgers are really great and great quality meats! The chicken tenders are huge and seasoned to perfection and fried lightly to give a crunch. Located on the main strip and down the street from the bar/restaurant 11 Circuit

Lucas J.

Yelp
Tasty burger, fries were nice and crispy. Overall pretty good! Went with my wife and we both left satisfied.

Yelp
One of the things that surprised me about MV initially, but now I've become used to, is that even if there are not many choices for a particular cuisine (e.g. one or two go-to burger spots in a town), they are usually spectacular! And Fat Ronnie's is definitely spectacular as far as the burger goes. Sadly I'm writing this in 11/2021 during the ramp-up to another Boston winter, and a trip to Fat Ronnie's seems to be months away so I'm just teasing myself by writing this review. PHAT patties of beef cooked to perfection. Fresh and perfectly baked buns. Lots of great toppings to choose from. I would recommend getting the basic burger and building it up with some of your preferred toppings at the counter. Chill atmosphere and nice service. Easy 5 stars from me!
google avatar

Eris S.

Yelp
Fat Ronnie's is always a good decision. The burgers are delicious and made to order. Service is quick and efficient. There's usually a wait but it's worth it. The restaurant is small. You can walk outside but You have to stay close to hear your name called. Great for late night dining after a party or anytime you want a good burger.
google avatar

Louise M.

Yelp
Best late night food in Oak Bluffs. Try to get there before the bar closing rush does though. Sweet potato fries are soooo good! Not much seating inside, but perfect drunk food to go haha
google avatar

Chia B.

Yelp
Fat Ronnie's is simply delicious. I ordered the cod fish sandwich, but took a bite out of my husband's burger. Cod fish sandwich: SEASONED! I emphasize this after trying several bland places. Also you can customize your toppings as they complete your dish. Hamburgers: Juicy, delicious, and dare I say heavenly? I only took one bite, but it was a good bite. Fries: Golden and crunchy This is one of the few spots in Oak Bluffs where you get the best value for a meal. Seating seems limited, but there is hidden seating on the left side of the building.

Tim B.

Yelp
One of the best burgers I have eaten and definitely the best on Martha's Vineyard. The onion rings were very good as well. If you are craving a juicy burger, give Fat Ronnie's a try.
google avatar

Arleen G.

Yelp
The food was amazing I would totally recommend the only thing is it is packed and it takes a bit to get your food depending on what you order. But the price was great and the ambiance was nice it was a chill place to be at. Also the price was a bit on the expensive side.
google avatar

Renee H.

Yelp
Yea!!!! To the Lobster roll. Cold or hot! It's a hit and the burgers are made by 4th and 5th generation burger makers!!!
google avatar

maryam a.

Yelp
The best burgers on Martha's Vineyard!!! If you're on the island Fat Ronnie's is a must try spot. Their burgers and French fries were perfect. You're able to customize your burger toppings to your liking. The prices are affordable but the small burger joint does get very busy and packed. Highly recommend giving it a try.
google avatar

Cheyenne B.

Yelp
This spot was so summer on Martha's Vineyard. But it was cool because it had a monster light fun vibe too. The music was fun and there was a bunch of young people in there hanging out. I went in to try the famous lobster roll. I was pleasantly surprised by the size, there's a lot of meat! But it should be that for the price. The sandwich was pretty good, but this, like most lobster rolls I find, had too much mayonnaise. After a while it gets a little tangy. I wish it was a little bit more buttery. Other than that cute spot. Would recommend!
google avatar

Kathryn L.

Yelp
I got excited seeing the Vegan Burger on the exterior menu yet wasn't impressed with the patty, the preparation or paying almost $13. & that price was solely for the burger & without the customary side of French Fries. You can select your cold toppings from the bar & watch the employee build your burger. Guacamole, Pineapple & much more with over 12 different sauces to choose from. Make sure to have some hand sanitizer or wipes with you as no restroom is available for the customers. I was told "There's a public bathroom up the street". One of the first hands food invented & you can't wash your hands in the same place your burger is being made? I'm glad I found another place later in the day that moffers Vegan Burgers...& functional restroom on site.

Yelp
This was probably one of the best burgers I've had in the New England area. Perhaps I may not have ventured out to many burger joints in New England but this place definitely was on the top of my list for one of the best burgers I've had at a restaurant hands down. I was recommended to try this place by a friend while visiting Martha's. Once you get off the Oak Bluff ferry terminal, walk a couple blocks away from the terminal, past the old carousel, and you'll find it in a small street with other shops and restaurants. The restaurant is counter service style - order what you want at the counter, take a number, and when your number is called, you're ready to customize your burger with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc with 6-7 difference sauce options. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy with a Street fair going on and everything so the fair was attracting a lot of customers into this place. We waited roughly 5 minutes before our number was called and luckily we were able to grab a table at one of the 5 or 6 tables that they had in the restaurant. The burger was super juicy and fresh and with them allowing you to customize what you want on your burger, it makes it even more enjoyable and worth the $10. I would definitely recommend this place if you will be on Martha's. A great burger and fries is a great lunch combo to have while you're visiting the island!

Yelp
The best burgers and lobster rolls I have ever taste in my life...period...hands down! My life will never be the same. I now hold all burgers and lobster rolls to the Fat Ronnie standard. The burgers are perfectly chargrilled with an assortment of toppings to choose from, and they are huge! The lobster roll is all lump meat (no fillers) on a soft potato bread roll (lightly toasted). I cannot stress how mouthwatering both are I vacationed in Martha's Vineyard for 2wks last summer and I ate at Fat Ronnie's 9 times...I damned there turned into Fat Ronni myself! I can't wait to got back again!

Benjamin H.

Yelp
I'm giving this place a three for poor online order execution. Only order in person! If you do you will be happy! In online ordering, do not expect any of your special requests for certain items to be added! They just ignore the special requests and you don't get what you want. Asked for tartar sauce and extra tartar sauce on a cod Ana which and none applied - sandwich dry and not appealing
google avatar

Dfrancisco G.

Yelp
This is my 2nd year coming but this place disappoint me. Food is "absolutely amazingly" good this is really worth to wait after a year we will be back next time some of my family and friends! Enjoy the food as much I do! Cheers!!!!

Dylan D.

Yelp
Went here with my boyfriend I got a burger he got chicken and they were both delicious. Only thing I can complain about is that the staff didn't give me my number for my order so I sort of had to guess when mine was ready. When it comes to the ambiance, if you can imagine "place that sells beef sandwiches" that's basically it. Reminds me of a place I got cheesesteaks in Philadelphia. Overall the Swiss mushroom burger was one of the best I've had and the chicken had great texture and flavor. Very much would recommend to anyone taking a trip to the vineyard!
google avatar

Christie L.

Yelp
Fat Ronnie's is always one of my "have-to" stops when I visit MV! The burgers here are SO delicious and juicy! You can't go wrong with the classic fat ronnies, bacon or shrooms burger. After ordering you wait for you number and you then go to the counter to choose your toppings. I love to load up my burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, peppercini, and guac. The chipotle mayo is also great. Fries and onion rings are also perfectly crispy!

Kim R.

Yelp
Food was good. Lobster roll did not have enough meat, but hamburgers are huge! Not enough room in restaurant for tables and chairs during peak weeks--should be removed during that time frame. Took a long time to get food.
google avatar

Cynthia A.

Yelp
Let me tell you about Fat Ronnie's! This Black-owned burger joint it truly amazing. Sits toward the beginning of Circuit Ave, it holds its own as one of the best places to satisfy your burger craving. They have the original Fat Ronnie burger with American cheese and a number of other burgers with various cooked toppings. They also have Turkey, Vegan burgers and other fast/ food type entrees. There are various sides too. My party ordered the Fat Ronnie, the bacon- cheddar, and sweet potato fries. When your order is ready, you then tell the server what cold toppings you would like as well as condiments which are placed on it to complete your dish. Ugh. My Bacon Cheddar was a dream: thick-cut bacon atop white cheddar melted onto the patty. I added lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and pickles. The sweet potato fries were ok. Would I get them again? Probably, but I do prefer the sweet potato fries at another restaurant on the island. BUT THIS BURGER: This burger eats like a home-made burger right off the grill... and you know what I mean... the kind you get at the family BBQ, but with a nice thick patty and a bun thick enough to support the load without being over powering. And that's all you need to know. So, if you are on the Vineyard reading this, what are you waiting for?
google avatar

Yelp
I'm so sad that I even have to write this review. If anyone knows me they know how much I LOVED this place. I would tell all my friends about their chicken sandwiches and bring them to the vineyard just to try it. Yesterday I went in and for the first time ever, it looked like my sandwich was undercooked. I brought it up to the staff. He looked at this guy for help which I found out was the owner. He took my chicken sandwich to the back then brought it back to my table and said he "inspected it and doesn't see anything wrong with it". At this point, who wants to eat that after it has been brought to the back and "inspected". He was very rude and did not give me another sandwich or even try to rectify the situation. He said "i'm a chef. I know". It was very loud and embarrassing. Plus I didn't see any gloves on his hands so did you inspect my sandwich with your bare hands then bring it back for me to eat???? I'm really appalled at the customer service I received today and will not be coming back. That's no way to treat a customer.
google avatar

Kia W.

Yelp
Ronnies was packed and we waited less than 15 minutes for our food. The lobster roll was ahmazing. Based on Yelp reviews I thought the roll would huge so I didn't order fries. Although it was filled with chunks of lobster meat I could've had a side of fries. The burgers looked really good. If I have time, I'll go back to try one. ***Update*** I came back for a turkey burger with provolone and carmelized onions. It was huge and the bun was toasted to perfection. It was so good. The only negative was I asked for a side of ranch for my sweet potato fries and was told they don't give sides of condiments...

Yelp
While not directly on a beach or a boardwalk, I got this very cool west coast, California vibe from FR's. The lack of doors and little space seems like it should be tucked up in near the Santa Monica pier on the boardwalk. But still, the location is tough to beat on the east coast and Ronnie's delivers on all fronts. It was a bit cramped and for a random Tuesday afternoon when we were there, was really busy with no empty tables, only the random bar stools on the other side where you stare into a mirror of yourself. But by the time we got through the line, we snagged a table that opened up. Unfortunately, the wall outlet I attempted to use for my phone was not working to grab some juice before roaming about again. I tried talking the other half into something that wasn't beef but she just couldn't bring herself to try something that may not be their best. So we both went with burgers and I had the Portobello mushroom and swiss, her the Fat Ronnie's original and we shared an order of onion rings. They didn't offer tap water so with some bottles in tow, the total came to a little over $30 which sounds about right for island prices. Easily, a top 5 burger of my life. Cooked to perfection, not even close to be being medium well and the toppings were super fresh. It also helped that it was absolutely massive, I never saw beef sizes but it had to be approaching a half pound. So you get what you pay for and a $10 burger here was super worth it. While a tad greasy, the bun held up to the meat the entire time and wasn't a soppy mess by the last bite. We also loved the onion rings which I think were beer battered, crisply golden with all ranges in size so you know they came fresh from the same onion and in a cute container that you would normally get fried clams in. While they do serve seafood, I'll hit up a Fat Ronnie's Seafood Shack for that. The only thing that turned me off was adding "sides" to your burger, which they didn't allow...and they had to be topped on. I asked for lettuce tomato and pickles to be added. But after the sauce was squirted about, I wasn't able to take off the pickles and just eat them straight up without getting covered in goo. Why can't I ask for my pickles on the side? Very strange. Service was quick and great, it was clean and the food was outstanding, not much more you can ask for.

Yelp
Despite my feeling about its name, this place rocks! ;) Burgers are thick and juicy served on thick, fresh buns. I find it's best to order in person so you can see and pick all the fresh toppings you want on your burger, dog, or wrap. Speaking of dogs, they offer a 1/4 lb all-beef hot dog for something like $6 or $7. It has to be one of the best deals for food on the island! I haven't had the chicken wrap but I saw one being made. It looked delicious...huge crispy chicken tenders making for one 'fat' wrap. I've tried the mac-and-cheese with hamburger and found it needed some seasoning...and I threw on some hot sauce. Their plain mac-and-cheese is good though I thought the macaroni was a bit overcooked making it a bit like mush-n-cheese...but it still hit the spot! If you want an awesome burger, you've got to go to Fat Ronnie's!

Hasan G.

Yelp
Nice burgers!!!! Especially at that time of night when nothing else is open!!!! I hit this spot a few times when on island

Yelp
Great WORK!!!!!! NAMMYOHORENGEKYO Mmmmmm!!!! do want a ride together from good 2 best?. Good amount of food for the amount of money

Yelp
I love a good burger and Fat Ronnie's never disappoints. My only pain is that it seems like the middle of the burger us never fully cooked. So ask for it to be well done if you don't like biting into pink meat.

Yelp
The burgers here are PHENOMENAL!!! And in the summer time, they are open until 1 am, which makes it the PERFECT late-night, post-drinking place to grab a bite! Juicy, cooked to your preference (I like medium rare!!), and in a perfectly-crispy-edged toasted buttered bun, I am literally salivating as I type this!! Also good? The mac'n'cheese with bacon on top!! They do NOT skimp on the bacon, which is fresh and a perfect salty crunchy foil to the cheesiness of the noodles and creamy cheese sauce. A container of it is definitely enough for a meal, unless you have a really big appetite...in which case, you can get it as a side for your burger ;) The one sad thing about this place is that it's NOT WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE...but it's a tiny place, so if you call out to them from the sidewalk, they'll help you out! There are a few tables and stools to sit on, but overall, this isn't really a destination for dinner, more of a take-out situation. Fortunately, it's near the little square area in the middle of Circuit Ave, by the post office, where there are plenty of places to sit and eat your burger. Enjoy!
