Two New California Sandwich Shops Are Piling Up Subs in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"Operating for more than 14 years out of Los Angeles, this Neonopolis deli on Fremont serves oversized, late-night sandwiches, shakes, and loaded fries until 2 a.m. The showpiece is the Big Fat Fatty — a 30-inch garlic hero piled with cheesesteak, cheeseburgers, pastrami, chicken fingers, bacon, mozzarella sticks, fried eggs, fries, onion rings, chili, and marinara — priced at $99.99 or free if finished in under 40 minutes. Other indulgent offerings include the Fat Bodega (a butter-grilled hero with seasoned ground beef, sautéed onions, cheese, and topped with onion rings, fries, lettuce, and tomato) and the Fat Jerry, which drew Guy Fieri’s attention for its pile of ribeye, grilled onions, melted cheese, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, bacon, fried eggs, and fries. Fries are also available loaded with cheddar and mozzarella, gravy, chili, Philly cheesesteak, bacon, and salami, and the milkshakes are notably blended with a slice of cheesecake. A second Las Vegas location is slated to open in November in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops." - Janna Karel

We decided to give Fat Sal's a try, and we were sure glad that we did. Service was outstanding and the Sandwiches even better. It was so good the first time, that we had to go back for a second time. Who knew a Sandwich with Fries and Onion Rings would be so good lol. And basically if you share half a sandwich like we did each time, it's a great way to try what's on the menu. So basically with us going twice we tried Four Sandwiches ( WIN WIN ) and with a nice added touch of the $1.00 Beer it just adds to a great easy lunch/quick bite. Definitely don't hesitate to try Fat Sal's whatsoever, you definitely won't be disappointed. Great service and not too mention very clean both times we were there...

Got the buffalo Chicken double, fat Jerry, teriyaki double and gravy fries. Delicious definitely 5 stars. Just wish I had room for dessert. Guess we’ll just have to come back again! Thanks Julian and Dalia

This place has amazing sandwiches! Some very unique Mashups...My son got a smash burger with mozzarella sticks on it and was in heaven. The ambiance is very urban and chill with some cool paintings on the walls. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.

Needed a quick bite and something to drink. Saw a sign that said buy a fat sandwich and get a dollar beer and I just couldn't resist. I came for the $1 beer but the sandwich is driving this review. I got the Fat Buffalo and it was absolutely amazing. Perfect size to split and the dollar beer was perfect to wash it down. boyfriend says “salty, spicy, and a combination of flavour that i’ve never experienced.” Julian was a cool guy, shoutout Julian thanks for the awesome service!!

Located in the electrifying, neon-tinged atmosphere of Neonopolis and just a stone's throw from the iconic vaulted ceiling of the Fremont Street Experience, Fat Sal's Las Vegas location (450 Fremont St, Suite 101) is effortlessly accessible and astonishingly easy to locate—no intimate knowledge of downtown's intricate maze of backstreets is required. As you step inside, you're immediately greeted by a sprawling layout of communal tables and open seating designed to welcome everyone, from lone diners seeking solace to larger groups ready to celebrate. The efficiency of the ordering process is noteworthy; the line moves with impressive speed, ensuring that even during the bustling peak evening hours, patrons seldom find themselves waiting for long before their name is called. For my meal, I opted for the showstopper: the Bodega Fat Sal's sandwich—a monumental hero roll designed to gratify even the most formidable appetites. This audacious "Fat Bodega" creation presents a generous portion of Harlem-style chopped cheese, which is a sumptuous blend of seasoned ground beef, perfectly sautéed onions, and gooey melted American cheese. Crowned with crisp, golden onion rings and hearty crinkle-cut fries, this culinary marvel is further enhanced by the addition of vibrant pickle spears, finely shredded lettuce, and luscious tomato slices. All of these bountiful ingredients are artfully held together with generous layers of ketchup and mayonnaise spread across a butter-grilled hero roll. Each mouthful is a testament to the artistry of its preparation: the savory layers of ground beef harmonize beautifully with the crunchy fries and onion rings, while the fresh vegetables inject a necessary burst of freshness and texture that contrasts perfectly with the sandwich's indulgent richness. Staying true to Fat Sal's renowned roots in Los Angeles—where I first discovered their bold sandwich offerings—this downtown location upholds the brand's storied legacy, delivering a quintessential "hero" experience that both honors tradition and elevates it. In conclusion, Fat Sal's on Fremont Street transcends the realm of a mere quick-service eatery; it stands as a sanctuary for enthusiasts seeking an extravagant sub sandwich crafted with precision, speed, and an unabashed embrace of grand proportions. It is indeed a vital addition to the vibrant tapestry of Las Vegas's downtown dining scene.

Fat Sal’s in Las Vegas was fabulous! Julian and the entire staff were extremely kind. The security team ensured that my son could eat safely, given his food allergy. The food was delicious; the Impossible Smash Burger tasted just like real beef, even though it was vegan. I highly recommend this establishment for its overall experience.

If you find yourself on Fremont Street, run (don’t walk) to Fat Sal’s! The vibe is awesome, and shoutout to Julian at the counter, he recommended the Stromboli Fries to girlfriend, and WOW. Life-changing fries, people. My friend is still talking about them like she just found true love. As for me, I went for the Fat Hot Chick sandwich, and OMG !!! it was a flavor explosion I did not see coming. Crispy, spicy, cheesy goodness all jammed into one glorious sandwich. I basically needed a nap and a standing ovation afterward. Fat Sal’s, you have officially fattened up my heart (and maybe my jeans); and I’m not even mad about it!
