Fat Straws Boba & Mochi Donuts (Alpha & Noel)

In terms of service wise, loved the worker there because she was very patient and kind with our ordering process granted we were the only ones there. In terms of the drinks, not the best but that was our own fault for getting those the way they are. As for the mochi donuts, they were delicious but a lil pricier than I’d like 4 for $10. Overall, I’d recommend coming here to chill with friends or as a date because the decor was cutesy.

Got the watermelon cooler and a horchata mochi donut. The mochi donuts tasted good, but it just wasn't chewy like the ones I've had in the past. The watermelon cooler also wasn't sweet enough but it's good that they didn't try to sweeten it with sugar.

Always get the mochi doughnuts. I'm not a huge fan of thier drinks but my friends were. Nice and easy to find area. Please keep in mind that the flavors do change for the doughnuts

Have tried many drinks on the menu and loved everyone. Recommend the smoothies and milk teas. The Mochi donuts are so delicious and a perfect side to a nice milk tea.

Jemi is absolutely amazing. She is so friendly and gave my grown kids and I the perfect start to our day. The drinks and snacks were delicious. We can’t wait to return soon.

I wish I wasn't so hasty to try this food, as it would have made some great photos! The staff here were extremely professional! They did their best to assist us in finding out what we like. I asked a few questions, and they were kind, friendly, clean, and attentive. I was most impressed by the smaller size of the place, for the selection of drinks and donuts was massive! I wish that I lived in Texas. This would be a regular stop for me.

Was disappointed with my drink after passing this place a few times, figured I'd stop in for a nice cold milk tea on this hot day. The place is cute, staff is friendly and helpful. However my drink is where they failed, which is unfortunately the main thing I needed them to get right! LoL I ordered a Lavender Milk tea, but once I received it all it tasted was like milk and sugar. No lavender flavor AT ALL. For this I could've just stirred up some cold milk and sugar at my house. Was disappointed but had already driven off at this point so I was just stuck with it. I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend it. I may go back and give them one more chance to redeem themselves but I have other tea/boba places I prefer based on taste.

Modern store, super fast service. Got a passion fruit boba with popping mango boba and two mochi donuts. I wish I remembered to ask for less sweet. The donuts were delicious. The Vietnamese coffee flavor was excellent and cookie and cream was good too.

Love Fat Straws! Obsessed with their mochi donuts. Also got the Taro Cold Brew and it's the perfect amount of sweetness. the employees work super hard and fast, really appreciate their efficiency. will be back!

The staff is very ignorant of food allergies. I mentioned my daughter has Celiac and needs to avoid wheat based products. The girl at the counter was confused and said it si the same as organic and vegan. I tried to explain that they are not and that intensified the condition that we had to leave. If you have allergies, avoid this location as they are awful.

My family loves mochi donuts from fat straws! We were disappointed to see they took the original glaze flavor off of the menu, It was so good! Tasted just like werther's originals candies But we were not disappoint by the lemon poppyseed! A lot of lemon flavor but not overly sugary. If you have never had a mochi doughnut imagine a very soft yeast donut that has chew to it and topped with a light glaze. Light and sweet. The service at this location was unmatched! She took her time with my 6 year old and answered all my questions of why they took the original off the menu lol. The store was very clean and located in a walkable area, so after dinner at one of the nearby restaurants you can go grab a donut to take home. Great location, great quality, just bring back the original flavor please !!!!!

Such super nice employees! Stopped by here before an appointment and I was unaware that during Covid, they have became a "credit card only" shop. I attempted to leave a cash tip since I had already paid. They would not take my cash tip. I thought that was really weird, but I had to respect that. My boba tea was delish! I will be returning and this time I will leave a tip on my card. March 2022

The hype didn't quite meet expectations on the boba side, but the mochi donuts were superb. I do like their prices and their standard milk tea and boba balls are pretty good. If you're in the crystal boba market, they definitely have it. We liked the coffee and ube mochi flavors.

Incompetent workers here Edwin had to make my drink 3 times for a 2 ingredient drink Be careful ordering through delivery your time might be wasted.

Love this place so much, the only thing I would say that is annoying is that they don't open until 11am and I wish they opened at like 9am

Got the Taro Bubble Tea here (what's new) and it was pretty standard (as in they use the typical taro extract and coloring, tastes/looks fake but still enjoyable if you know what I mean lol). The boba was good quality. My bf liked it as well. The menu is pretty extensive and the name of the shop is cute, so we could be compelled to order from here again

This place has variety of caffeine free drinks, slushes which are made from fresh fruit. If you are looking for less sugar, ask them to avoid adding the syrups. We order mango strawberry Fresca tea and mango slushy, slushy was in sweater side as they added some syrups which I realized after the fact. Staff was good and welcoming!

Fat Straws is very good. Their boba tea is good and not too expensive, and their new mochi donuts are AMAZING. The boba tea: it's pretty standard. I don't need anything fancy for my boba tea and noticed that their milk tea is one of their specials right now so I even got it for a great price. The mochi donuts: GET ONE. I got one, and should've gotten more! I asked for a rec and was told to try the Churro one. Got it and it was incredible. I was skeptical because it was mochi and wondered what that would be like, but boy was it so so, chewy, and had a great taste. I would highly recommend these donuts!

My friend and I went towards closing time and they gave us 3 additional donuts for free. The mochi donuts we're tasty and the perfect chewy consistency. I love their strawberry black tea. It's not too sugary, which I prefer. It was very refreshing and I would definitely go back for some more if I could! Service was great. Fast/efficient. Place was clean.

Fast, friendly service. I've been to this location quite a bit for curbside and counter service. Each time, the service is quick. Currently no option to eat/drink inside and bathrooms are closed due to COVID. If you haven't tried a mochi donut, you're missing out. I love their consistency and flavors. Every time I go visit family, I swing by for a dozen to take with me as a gift.

The donuts are amazing, I love this texture. The drink was okay but the service is why it got 3 stars. I felt the staff just wanted me in and out, don't ask questions and don't take too long. It was my first time ever and I just felt negative energy the whole time while trying to make a decision. I also made it a point to say it's my first time and ask about the donuts and the response was very bare minimum "they're good", I'm a texture person so I just needed I guess a real answer to my question. Hopefully staff gets better with service.

Love this place! I got the Taro Coconut Swirl since that was a popular item and I can see why. It tasted very good even though I was skeptical. We also got the Peach Green Tea- so delish and refreshing. One of the best boba places in town!

Love the combinations on the menu of Bubba Tea drinks. I have been there twice, look forward to going again. Parking is a little tight the one by the Galleria; there are two locations been to both. So worth going to. So far my favorite.

The girl behind the counter was very helpful. Ended up getting a coconut snow with boba and it was delicious.

Our favorite bubble tea ever, the classic milk tea is the way to go. We live in Austin but when we visit Dallas we try to stop by and grab a couple of large milk teas to go because no one else compares to Fat Straws. Even better, you can order a GALLON of just the milk tea (and maybe other items too- call to ask) for $15, and the bubbles for it for $13 (as of Oct 2019). This was a dream come true to be able to take a full gallon home with us and share it with our friends. Call the store the day before or that morning to confirm availability, and when you purchase it, ask them how long the tea will be good for in the fridge.

Their milk tea never misses. I wish the menu was a little more accessible - you can't see it until you've gotten to the cash register to order so I always just go with my usual. I've heard mixed reviews on the mochi donuts but I'm gluten free so I haven't tried one

Worst milk tea and boba I've ever had. The milk tea was extremely watery and the boba was very chewy and had no flavor. For the price point, I would go to Quickly. Jasmine Milk Tea - very watery Mango Jasmine Milk Tea - also watery and tasted extremely artificial We stopped by because my roommate wanted to try their mochi donuts. We tried the pandan mochi donut. Their mochi donuts don't have the mochi chewiness to it like MoDo donuts do. The donut was more cake like and tasted like a frosted donut. You would not know it was Pandan.

Love love love this place! The food, service, and atmosphere is great! We have one in the shopping center of our apartment and I love the convenience and the variety! Try the strawberry donuts they are so delicious!

First timers here. Yes! Honey we scored and found a new place to get our fix. Both drinks amazing! I knocked a star do to not having any donuts like non. We really wanted to try them. But are very pleased with the drinks. Also service was nice and fast. Will be regulars! Have so many new items to try.

I was always intrigued with "mochi donuts" I wasn't sure what I was going to expect! I ended up ordering 6 of the donuts because I wanted to try all the flavors (black sesame, coconut pandan, cookies and cream, strawberry, blueberry, and matcha). Describing the consistency of the donuts, they are soft and chewy! All the flavors were delicious but my favorite would have to be matcha. Flavors for the icing were strong but not overpowering. I also ended up ordering a peach-mango smoothie with tapioca. It was good, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. Definitely recommend checking this place out if one ever wants to try the mochi donuts! P.S. If you end up taking it home, try heating in the microwave for about 10 seconds and it'll melt in your mouth.

Barbie has a thing for Fat Straws, and I can understand that. She gets the little tapioca balls in her mouth, chews on them a bit, and always swallows, but only, and I repeat only, for Fat Straws. She also likes "Long Straws" but I'm not sure where the listing for that is. She said that the Fat Straw I got was good and fairly satisfying, but she actually prefers, and I quote, "Fatter Straws." I'm not sure where the listing is for that either. I'm not actually a big fan of the Fat Straws franchise though, and I have to say that I honestly don't get it. Fruitealicious is another local chain, and I think it's much better. I do appreciate them but I don't think they're great. There's somewhere between okay and good. And if a lot of cute girls come here, it's Thot Straws. And if Ben Affleck comes here, it's Bat Straws. And if Starlight comes here, it's Cat Straws. I haven't had an amazing drink here yet but they haven't been bad either. Service has been really nice at all the locations we've been to - which is three or four now I think. My favourite thing about this place is definitely the pictures that Barbie took here. There are some interesting sunlight Shadows cast inside so it's not great for pictures but it's better than nothing. A lot better. And if you come here to talk, not drink, it's Chat Straws. And if the employees *really* don't like you, it might be Spat Straws. And if a Middle Eastern legend comes here, it's Arafat Straws. And if Mr Mackey comes here, it's MrHat Straws. It gets pretty packed in here, and the AC isn't so great in warm weather (which in Dallas is about 13 months a year). It's a good hangout spot, although a bit dated. Must be one of the older locations - possibly the original. And if you fall out of the tall building across the street, it's Splat Straws. And if your partner is clearly just using you, go to Doormat Straws. And if you have no clean clothes, go to Laundromat Straws. And if you're rich, go to Aristocrat Straws. And if you wanna imitate Manson, go to Copycat Straws. And if you wanna stop a fight, go to Diplomat Straws. And if you can do the splits in mid air go to Acrobat Straws. Or a strip club. Maybe it'll be called "Polecat Straws."

They've perfected and pioneered online ordering not only in DFW, but even in comparison to my other home on the east coast. They're stepping into the new normal effortlessly!

I echo that of other Yelp reviewers when I say that Fat Straws has fast and friendly service. I came to pick up mochi donuts round 7PM on a Tuesday. This location had almost all the flavors available at only limited quantities so I was lucky to be the last person to buy up most of the last batch; there were about 9 flavors when I came in. I ordered a dozen mochi donuts and a dalgona coco (no pearls). I didn't have expectations for the dalgona because I've made it at home but the "coco" really made all the difference! The staff said it was one of her favorites so I took a chance and it's a drink I'll definitely get again for the price and the flavor. The mochi donuts were not as chewy as I expected from my experiences with mochi donuts in the past but the super cute pink box and the assortment of flavors really made up for it. I really recommend ordering this if you want to try with others because the flavors are really interesting. Our favorites were the coffee and black sesame. It is a little pricy (almost $40) for a dozen but I recommend the splurge if you've never had mochi donuts and want to try all the flavors.

Omgosh! I love Fat Straws! I'm from Houston and I love coming here for boba!! They have the best tapioca bubbles. I tried their Dalgona latte and it was perfect! Their peppermint bark was DELICIOUS.

Fat Straws is okay bubble tea. It's near a huge shopping mall, so you should totally stop for some bubble tea after you're done with your shopping. The parking situation at Fat Straws isn't too horrible either. I ordered the Horchata milk tea. It was pretty yummy, and not too sweet. The interior is pretty quiet, and Fat Straws offers a rewards membership that lets you gain points for each drink you buy.

Came in here today to get a smoothie after my workout. *I know. Don't judge me*. Getting in, the guy at the desk offered me a sample of the tea of the day. I don't remember what it was but I was set on getting a smoothie anyway. The cashier was very pleasant and mentioned that he was there to answer any questions that I had. I have a hard time with decisions so he told me what the favorite smoothies are. I opted for the peach mango smoothie with no tapioca. I've never been a fan of tapioca or chewy stuff in my drink so I opted out of the jellies that he suggested as an alternative. The peach mango was amazing!!!! The service was stellar and I'll definitely be returning here.

After visiting the Preston location, I had to visit this place! I got the black sesame chewy puff again because I liked it so much the first time. I also got the cookies and cream chewy puff, just to change it up a bit, instead of my go-to matcha order. I still would rank the black sesame one the highest! I liked the vibe of the Preston location more - it feels more roomy, colorful, and bright. I also felt that the donuts were more fresh at the Preston location, but I still very much enjoyed the chewy puffs I got here! They have very fast service - I was in and out of the store within minutes. There is a parking lot available outside the store, and it is shared with other businesses in the area. There is plexiglas between customers and the staff, so I felt safe visiting the store despite COVID. There is no indoor seating. There is one small metal table with a couple chairs in front of the store, if you'd prefer to eat your donuts/drink your boba super fresh!

I have been searching for some good Mochi Donuts, the ones I have tried in Houston were not really match to my expectations, not that they were bad, the textures were brownies-like instead of what I would expect from Mochi Donut. @fatstraws is living up to the expectation! The donuts were soft and chewy on the inside, the texture is just so addicting! My favorite so far is the vietnamese coffee flavor.

I loved this place! We were greeted immediately and the staff was super friendly. I was visiting the area for my fiance's work trip so I had to try every flavor they offered so I knew what to get when I come back ;) The donuts themselves were soft and chewy. Very different texture from yeast or cake donuts I'm used to eating but I liked it! They were not overly sweet which I loved. My favorite donut ended up being the black sesame because it had a subtle peanut buttery taste to it. The salted caramel was a close second. You really can't go wrong with any of the flavors because they were all delicious in their own way. It really just comes down to flavor preference! Also, these donuts are super fun to stack lol

I went in to fat straws wanting a yummy drink despite being on a special diet which restricts caffeine or dairy. I saw they serve nut and soy milk so I hoped they would make me a drink. I really just wanted a drink with the tapioca bubbles. I asked the cashier if she could make me a large drink with soy milk and taro sweetened with honey with regular bubbles. The cashier was so confused but after telling her about my special diet she understood and made me the drink. She put 2 tablespoons of honey in the drink and didn't put the lavender tea. When I tell you the drink was so yummy that is an understatement! It was BOMBBB!!! Everything I ever dreamed of. I ended up spending $5 but it was so worth it! Fat straws did not disappoint me! Awesome customer service and the drink was incredible! I'm definitely coming back to try a real bubble tea drink once I'm off this special diet. Great job!!

They have mochi donuts!!!! I had these in Japan and it was so good!!! I'm so happy fat straws sell these now! My favorite flavors are the fruity ones and the tea flavor ones! Also like black sesame. These donuts are gooey. Best eaten warm so take home and heat for ten seconds!

This fat straws location is consistently great. The drinks are always delicious, the service is quick and friendly, and there are games! Not a ton of parking, but you can go around the corner and park in the parking garage if you can't find a spot. I always order the mango green tea and the boba is the perfect, soft consistency. I also like that their drinks aren't overly sweet! Make sure you register for their rewards program to get money off your order or work towards a free drink!

First thing I noticed when walking into this place was that it was very colorful. The decoration just made the boba shop very inviting. Upon entering, I was greeted by the cashier and was told to order whenever I was ready. I decided to order the Island Passion Blend. The drink itself was very good, but the boba could be alittle but softer. Other than that, I got my drink in a timely matter and was satisfied with my order. Overall, it is a good place to try out and i would definitely come back to try another drink.

It has been a very long time since my initial review in 2016! In my first review, I had not discovered the brewed teas yet. After I started ordering those, Fat Straws became my go-to boba place-- and they kept my (daily) business for 4 years! The brewed teas were delicious and unique compared to all other boba places, and I loved their pumpkin spice milk tea in fall. The excellent customer service never faltered. If I had updated my review a couple years ago, my rating would have been 4.5 stars. However....in September 2021, my rating is 2 stars. The reason: Price-gouging. Fat Straws drink prices rose steadily over the years; I think the price of the drinks I usually purchased increased 25% since 2016. That was already questionable....however, the tapioca costs were the last straw. Using the boba shortage as an excuse, Fat Straws increased the cost of tapioca by $0.25 AND decreased the amount you get by half! In other words, every customer pays 50% more money for 50% less boba. What the heck, Fat Straws. I would be more sympathetic if the boba shortage were that significant. I know the pandemic changed many things. However, many of their competitors were able to maintain prices and boba servings. Observing that makes me question whether Fat Straws was really impacted by the boba shortage to such an extent. Personally, I do not believe it. I have already taken most of my business elsewhere. I occasionally still come to the store to support the great staff who work behind the counter. If they were not there, I would never come back.

Located in a plaza nearby the galleria mall, you will see lots of young customers and all varieties of people comes here for the good drinks and items off the menu. My favorite drink here has to be the avocado shake. My favorite of all time here and it's better than most Vietnamese restaurant that I've been to. It's made perfect and not too sweet. The mochi donuts are amazing too and there are several selections you can try like green matcha , coconut , and sesame are amazing . This is the first time I tried a mochi donut and it's pretty good. As I'm typing this review I'm thinking of driving there and get the shake and donuts again.

Is there a negative star rating? As a long term customer, I receive an email saying that I could get a milk tea for only $1. I arrive at the location on Alpha Rd around approximately 7pm to find a hand written sign stating that after 4pm they would be charging regular price on the advertised milk tea that was promised to be $1 in advertisement sent as an email blast to who knows how many customers. 1) A hand written note on the door? How tacky can you get? Could you at least use a word processing program and type it so that it looks like you give a damn? Oh wait, you don't because you went against the special that was sent via email blast. Tacky tacky tacky. 2) You go against your word to the customer and charge full price after you offered a product to be on special for the entire day. Why? This shows how much appreciation you have for your customer.

First impression: The tapioca (boba) here is so fresh. Oh my gosh. The inner decor is dimly lit and cute. I ordered the kumquat jasmine tea. I was really curious with these two combo and surprisingly, it is as expected. A mixed of sour with a huge hint of jasmine. The tea was truly good but it was missing a little something. Maybe the combination of these two items are not made for my tastebuds. 4/5 I also got the cookies and cream mochi donuts. 5/5 It was honestly so sweet and soft to the bite. Must come back and try their other teas!

Received great service upon arrival. My drinks was ready in what felt like a few seconds and it was delicious. I had the Thai tea with bubbles and my aunt had the classic milk tea. Both were fantastic. The space itself is quite hip and cool. There's definitely more room than one would expect. Would go back to try more flavors!

Are you the milk tea type? Because I am! Fat straws has a classic milk tea that I loveeeeeeee! The thing about fat straws is that the are not stingy. If you go to any other tapioca place, they're are stingy. I always ask for my milk tea without ice and they fill your whole cup up! If you go to any other place, they don't do that! How awesome is that? Their new mochi doughnuts are SOOOOOO good. I am so glad I got to try a sample the other day. At first, I didn't care to try it but the staff member insisted and boy am I glad she insisted!! These little doughnuts were not extremely sweet and I love the slightly chewy texture of it. I tried the Oreo one and the passion fruit. Ouuuuuu so good. I can't wait to go back for more of those and the oh so creamy milk tea!!!

Took my step daughter there for the first time the other day. It was alright. They didn't explain what the different drinks were very well . Maybe if i had a better understanding , I would have ordered something more to my liking. The tea was still good though. I will go back and try other stuff.

This is bottom tier boba for me, I've tried multiple times to give them another chance but the boba is so bland and/or overcooked. The teas aren't terrible but if you are looking for delicious top tier Boba this ain't it.

I came here on a late weekend really looking forward to try their mochi donuts. To my dismay they ran out! So I ordered their hibiscus tea and watermelon cooler. Both drink were underwhelming and nothing great about it. It tasted ok but I dont think i would be returning for their drinks unless its my last resort. Ill try again for the donuts.

Was happy with our order. Wish I had the young girls name that helped us. She was extremely professional and very welcoming with my princess ( daughter). Enjoy coming here, although parking is a pita. Will be back for sure soon.
