If boba milk tea underwent cultural assimilation, you would end up with Fat Straws. For Christ sakes, they have a seasonal pumpkin spice milk tea. #whitegirlfavorite
Fat Straws brings back very fond memories from high school (10+ years ago). It used to be the only place in West Plano, but now there are so many boba places. But I still like really like Fat Straws and it appeals to both Asians and non-Asians. The milk teas are pretty good, as the tea is strong and the boba is chewy and above average. I'm a big fan of both the Jasmine Milk Tea and the Thai Milk Tea. There are tons of substitutes for the milk (Oat Milk, Almond Milk, other vegan/healthnut/white folk substitutes that I don't care for).
I used to always get the mango slushie with mango jelly. It's pretty good although I don't believe they use real fruit.
The mochi doughnuts are unique and pretty good, although somewhat expensive ($2.50 for a doughnut). I am a fan of the black sesame, cookies and cream, and fruity pebbles doughnuts. Stay away from the matcha - it lacks flavor.
If you are in West Plano, this is the place to be. But if you want the gold standard of boba, go to Onezo on Park. Drive west down park for approximately 10 minutes, and right before you hit 121, it will be on your left.
