Don't go here!!!!
It's Friday night during Lent. Fat Willies is offering Fish and Chips as a special. I wait at the bar as a solo customer and order fish and chips. I am told it might be a long wait. At 6:30pm there seems to be no concern with my order. One hour later, they inform me that they have run out of fish. Two questions, why didn't the manger order enough fish for the special occasion, secondly how can the kitchen not inform servers that the end is near. (One hour is an extraordinary amount of time for notifications)
In my opinion the manager is completely at fault here. This operation is very disorganized, unprepared, dirty, and probably could not pass a health and food inspection.
The glassware is grossly etched and Fat Willy's severely lack china/Glassware inventory. The servers did not have enough glassware so they were serving beer and cocktails in warm to hot glasses taken directly from the washer trays. The dirty dishes were not properly bused and there was no separation between dirty and clean glassware.
The servers were trying their best, but there was no organization, and the communication between the kitchen and severs was lacking. Management needs to provide better environment, training, and provision inventories.
I asked if this night was atypical. They said aside from a large group mostly drinking following a wake, that the dinner service was not unusual. Then how do you run out of food.
During my hour-long wait for no dinner, I spoke with the gentleman next to me at the bar. He received his nacho plate but commented that it took an extraordinary time. (really nachos? how difficult is that). About halfway through his meal, he pushed the plate aside. He said the beef was over seasoned and that the chips were a bit stale. He was unsatisfied. Maybe it's good I didn't waste money on food at Fat Willys.
Over 6 decades in eateries, this was the worse experience I have ever had. After informing me there was no more fish, the servers thought that providing a menu was adequate. I came for the fish, so no and I was not encouraged to risk my dinner on a kitchen that was completely inadequate.
Voyager Park Managers. I recommend you intercede and provide the required supervision this restaurant is lacking. They have lost a customer for life.
I paid for two beers, never received the third, left the tip. I felt total apathy from three servers. It was obvious they were ill-equipped or trained to properly rectify this dismal situation. Management should have been called, my beers comped, and a sincere effort made to retain my patronage.
