Absolutely delicious! I tried a variety, the best by far was the Snow Brownie, would highly recommend. The reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because the prices are very high for the size of brownie that you receive.

The brownies are bite-size and individually packed. There’s plenty of unique flavors to choose from: black sesame, yuzu, matcha, white chocolate, red velvet, etc. Each piece cost around $3.75, which in my opinion is a little bit expensive as the brownies did not amaze me in a spectacular way. The flavors are decent, but it’s really on the ordinary side. You’ll be paying for the aesthetics, not the flavors.

The packaging is cute and they ship quickly. A friend keeps buying these for me bc *they* like them; I wish there was a polite way to say, “no thanks, I’m good!” They taste like a Little Debbie Cosmic Brownie that’s been un-cosmic’ed. They’re almost flavorless except for the odd flavor that permeates them, and the texture isn’t like a traditional brownie-it’s more crumbly. It just falls apart in pieces when I try to eat one. I gave the brownie-loving hubby one to see if I was judging too harshly and he took one bite and wanted no more. His review was, “(((bleagh)))”. He also said they tasted kind of like the un-cosmic brownie. Even the brownie lover was unimpressed. If y’all like ‘em, though, enjoy!

We got three small brownies: citrus had a great flavour, and Macha one had a full matcha flavour which I loved (considering some bakeries have just a hint of macha flavour). Unfortunately, their texture was not fudge or brownie-ish. It is more like a dense cakey texture. I wasn't much fan of a ginger one even though I usually love ginger flavour. Great place to visit and explore, but don't hold your expectations high up there.

Tried their brownies and honestly for the price and the size, they are a miss. they taste decent but nothing to write home about. I would go somewhere else for brownies but good to at least give them a try once if in the area.

Tried the double chocolate and matcha brownies. The chocolate was good. The matcha one did not taste matcha, just tasted regular brownie. For the price, the little ones could be bigger.

Being from out of state, it was tricky to find. But boy the brownies were worth it! I tried the Raspberry and Turtle brownies and they we’re both equally good. The edges were the perfect amount of crisp and the inside was so moist. Freshly baked that day! Definitely worth the calories!

How have I never tried fat witch bakery until now!!! It is a one stop shop for all things brownie from batters to chocolate chips you can use to make hot cocoa. My favorite bit is their witching hour special where you can get the unwrapped brownies for a $1.50 each. Now don't let that small price dissuade you. These unwrapped brownies are huge as you can see from my photos and they also have a big flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by their vegan brownies which were super moist and chocolatey and lighter in terms of texture as compared to their walnut and hazelnut Brownies that I've tried. The walnut and hazelnut brownies as I mentioned before are both a bit dense but pack a powerful flavor and crunch profile. All and all I would opt for the vegan brownie this far since I prefer a light and airy . Update ! Back at Fat Witch again and basically b

I'm surprised I haven't written a review yet. I've been getting my fat bitch brownie fix for years at this place. They make an amazing walnut brown brownie as well as a Carmel, Blondie, I have a feather brownie. I don't like they also ship, which is how I get my brandies most of the time And most people who know me know I am frugal, but it's so difficult to get over to the Chelsea market to get my brownies that I just ordered them online. 00 there is those ends that come in a bag oh that's so delicious. Oh, and never mind the hot chocolate I just adore this place. They used to have a storefront at Chelsea market years ago and when you walked in the door, you could smell the delicious chocolate. They don't have a storefront anymore, but they have like a booth and it's still the great product. There is a man man in the booth. The last time I was there, he was friendly and cordial and kind of funny. He was really awesome. He told me that they opened a factory up in Harlem, which I was glad to hear. He said that the business had gotten so big they had to open up a factory. I was happy to hear that the business is located in Harlem, which is a social economic hub.. It's good for the economy of the area and very iconic. Never mind the short run down to Chelsea market. I'm serious Sarah brownies and then there are fat witch brownies, which are so delicious..

Inside of Chelsea Market. All they do is brownies...but a bazillion flavors. Ok, not a bazillion but quite a lot. They have 2 different sizes of brownies. Thay also have a vegan option.

I don't know much about this bakery, but we stumbled upon it exploring CHelsea Market. Packaging is cute. Evidently it's a different textured thick brownie that is really good. I'm glad they offer samples. Otherwise I don't think I would have purchased any because it was around $6-7 for one tiny square. I purchased a matcha brownie & a double chocolate chip? one. The matcha one was delicious, but short lived. The double chocolate chip I took home to my husband and he evidently enjoyed his as well. They had a sign advertising that they were in an episode of Sex andThe City. Although that didn't have any influence on me making a purchase.

My review will solely be on the brownies because I have not been to the location in Chelsea. My husband brought home some sample brownies from his work event. We tried the fat witch baby (brownie) snow baby (white chocolate brownie) and the caramel baby. They are so cute and tiny. They aren't fudgy or cake like. My daughter and I rated the fat witch baby as the best one, caramel came second and snow baby last I thought it was too sweet for me. They definitely are cute and pretty good but I do prefer a more fudgy brownie.

This shop has been in Chelsea Market for as long as I can remember. I have been enjoying their brownies since college, maybe high school. My recent visit to the store brought back some wonderful memories. However, due to cutting back on sugar, I got four mini versions instead. The Double Chocolate Baby and Peanut Butter Baby were very good. Almond Baby was a bit too crunchy, though still very good. The Apple Cinnamon Baby was a blondie and my least liked, though still enjoyable. Due to my diet restrictions, these are not something I will eat regularly, but it's nice to have a small bite every once in a while.

The vegan brownie is pretty good. Definitely a cakey brownie, and not too sweet. Some chocolate chips would have been nice for additional texture, but overall, still pretty decent. It would be nice if they had a vegan option for some of their other flavors, but I appreciated that they had even one (clearly labeled) option.

After doing quick research for the best brownie in NYC a few recommended this place, and I have no idea why. I'm sure there are hundreds of bakeries/cafes that are much better. The lady at the counter seemed insulted when I asked how much they were. She responded with a confused "i don't know. I don't know which one you want" I look over thinking there's a variety of sizes and there were only two.

I've been to this bakery a couple of years ago. I was happy to receive a mixed pack of their brownies today. The brownies are not dry. They're moist and flavorful. The bakery is located inside Chelsea Market. It's clean and their employees are very helpful. Looking forward to my future visit.

We got a lot of gifts from here since the brownies tasted so good. I tried the honey baby and the combo of honey and brownie together tastes so good.

I would say the brownies are good but not great. Maybe as a baker myself, I have unrealistic expectations, but they are still fresh and tasty. They are soft but not really fudgy. The shop is conveniently located in Chelsea market. More of a grab and go place. Take a brownie with you for later!

Really wish it offered variety more than brownies! Cute logo and we really want to patronize this bakery, but the selection is just too limited.

I went into the shop because I was attracted to the window display. I entered into the empty shop and started walking around to look at the products. It was brownies packaged in cute boxes or packages. I noticed that the lone woman cashier was following me with her eyes. (The shop is quite small). She didn't say anything to me until I went to the check out counter to purchase several 4 boxed brownies. It wasn't until then did the cashier said something to me and became friendly. The brownies aren't anything different from others I had. It's much smaller than regular brownies. It wasn't overly sweet nor fudgy. The matcha tastes more like cake. I couldn't tell if the red velvet was natural or food coloring. I would have given this 3 stars but customer service did not make me feel welcoming.

3 for the cute concept Otherwise you definitely can get a moister, tasty, larger and fresher brownie about the same price elsewhere. The ones here are on the grainy near dry said and I won't consider it the "best" brownie. Also the cashier must be having a bad day as she was a bit unfriendly.

Brownies were so nice and tasty, I kept going for more until I figured I had eaten the whole block. Definitely freshly baked as it was so nice and moist. Bonus - bought it during witching hour - at $1.75 each brownie, I had to go back for more.

Decent brownies with decent moistness. Not like super amazing but a nice snack to grab in the market.

Update 11/6/21: Patricia from Fat Witch Bakery reached out and let me know that witching hour actually currently starts at 2PM due to reduced hours, and confirmed some flavors are only in store since they are too delicate to ship (like pb&j)! Brownies with a rich flavor without being too dense. I appreciate a good boxed brownie mix, but getting brownies at a bakery is nice when I'm feeling indulgent. Fat Witch Bakery is a cute shop inside Chelsea Market, but they also offer their brownies for sale online. There's cute packaging and gift arrangements if you want to buy an assortment. I came at Halloween weekend around witching hour (after 5pm?), so unwrapped brownies were discounted. I chose 3 different brownies. They are all pretty big and good for sharing with another person. I would recommend buying at least 3 unwrapped brownies so that you get them packaged in a box vs paper bag - they get a little oily and the box feels much more sturdy. Original: this is just their regular brownie and was my favorite. It has a rich, chocolate taste without being too sweet. If I go back, I would probably get more of this one. German(?): this brownie has a coconut flake and pecan topping. I thought this one sounded really interesting but was too sweet for me. This one must have been a popular flavor, since I actually bought the last one they had. Peanut butter and jelly: this was a fun flavor and I could definitely taste and see the peanut butter/jelly. It's a little crumbly, probably because of the peanut butter. I liked this one and might get it again if I wanted a good peanut buttery brownie. Overall they were all decent. I'd try the original and pb&j brownies again. I didn't see the German and pb&j flavors listed on the website, so I wonder if they are limited time offerings or just in store only.

Stumbled upon this little shop in the Chelsea Market. They had a sign in the front highlighting a feature of their product in Sex in the City. They know how to get a tourist's attention! They had a bunch of big and mini brownies of a variety of flavors- like blondie, matcha, etc. Overall, they were pretty good! Nothing out of the ordinary, but a nice treat.

One of my favorite shops in Chelsea Market, this bakery specializes in everything and all things BROWNIES! They have the usual classic flavors like dark chocolate and pecans but occasionally will have special limited flavors too. My favorite time to stop by is between 5-6pm, which is their "witching hour". You can get all unwrapped brownies for half off, so $1.50 each. They keep at cool room temperature for 2-3 days with no problems. During my latest visit here they were also giving out free bags of brownie mix with purchase with was a nice surprise.

My favorite brownie in all of NYC! If you're in Chelsea Market (after 3pm especially) and you're in the mood for a really good brownie, head straight to Fat Witch Bakery. Why after 3pm you may be wondering, because the unwrapped brownies are half priced in the late afternoon. Do yourself a favor and don't miss this place. My personal favorite is the classic or walnut but the caramel and coconut one was also good, as was the butterscotch.

After a visit to the Vessel, a walk along the High Line Park, the stopover is of course at Chelsea Market. So glad the stores such as Taco No.1 is open, Lobster Place, and yes, the brownie ~ Fat Witch Bakery. I am not a big fan of brownies ... though prefer LadyM crepe cakes and Bibble & Sip, but my dear cousins do love brownies. The store lady provided us with the sampling of original brownie, and a bag of brownie mix as a gift ~ Chewy, heavy ... and perfect pairing with a cortado ^^

Whoa these are definitely the best brownies I've ever had. We weren't sure what to expect but when the worker said it was half off because it was near the end of day so we're like sure why not! She picked a Blonde Witch for us with the most chocolate and off we went to continue our sightseeing. We decided to have our snack while taking a break at the Vessel in Hudson Yards, and boy was our mouth in for a treat! It was like eating a very delicious chocolate chip cookie but in a cake form! Whoa Whoa Whoa! Who knew a brownie can be THIS good and totally regretting only getting one. Luckily you can shop online as well but maybe that's quite dangerous for my waist line. Located inside Chelsea Market, definitely grab one ...or a few!

Decided to check this place out after grabbing food for lunch! The logo is very cute and the store is very clean. I decided to try their famous fat witch brownie. First of all, the brownie is not too sweet which is what I loved! The texture is very soft and savory and everything is packaged well. I think this place deserves the hype it currently has and recommend everyone to check this place out!

We stopped in while cruising Chelsea Market and we are so glad we did- the brownies are delicious! My friend picked up the cherry chocolate and I chose the caramel chocolate. The gentleman behind the counter was so welcoming and helped us pick the right treat. I decided to order some to ship to relatives in Arizona, but their website is very confusing to navigate.

The best brownies in NYC and that's saying a lot! They come in a variety of flavors and are individually wrapped making them perfect for choice for a sweet souvenir for friends and family back home! If you're looking for a sweet treat for yourself or something small and sweet to bring back Fat Witch is your spot! There's a variety of choice for every kind of sweet tooth from a brownie edges only bag, to different flavored centers and even gummy candies for the little ones!

Walking into the bakery was very cute and minimalistic! You get a nice view of the back of the store where they prep and bake their brownies. The cashier was super helpful as we picked out the wrapped brownies and she informed us that the unwrapped brownies were actually cheaper by $1! Taking the first bite of the brownie was good. But as we continued eating it, it did have that grainy taste but I believe that's what you get when the food isn't processed sugar! At the end of the day, good brownies!

This is one of my go-to places for simple but reliable souvenirs. The different packaging options make it convenient to right size it to the group. I usually go for Fat Witch or Double Chocolate brownies

This place was so cute, and I loved the name, which is why I went in...plus I love brownies. The employees were so kind. The cashier even helped me pick out some better priced options. However, the brownies were just not good. Extremely sweet, grainy, and just not what a good quality brownie is. I wouldn't really recommend this place.

These were so underwhelming! I tried the mini witches in snow and regular. Snow was SO sugary, almost inedible. Regular was very mediocre and had this sort of sandlike consistency. I do not get the hype.

We bought one of their variety packs that contained regular brownie, Blondie and salted caramel. They were moist and delicious. Service was friendly. The price is just high for me but I expected it for Chelsea Market.

Hmm, should this be 5 stars. Best matcha brownie I've ever had. Really very good. The gf was initially non plused, but after one bite wanted to go back.

If you love brownies your going to really enjoy this spot called the Fat Witch Bakery. Located also inside the Chelsea market is a super fresh bakery spot that's filled with tasty snacks and also gifts. Oh if you are buying it for others you should probably buy it on the last day before you are flying. It's fresh and if you don't eat it right away it might not taste as good as it does when it's super fresh. Overall I enjoyed the tasty brownie that I had ordered a white chip brownie. It was super flavorful and I haven't had a brownie in years. Waited in line to try this out but I did enjoy it. They have three locations but the other two is in Japan. So if your on the east coast especially in Mew York, and you love brownies this might be one of the spots to try it!

So I found about Fat Witch Bakery when they made a new store in Kyoto....their very second location outside of NYC, and people were lining up for this place....so I figured I should give it a shot while I was in NY. The store is very cute, decorated with the witch character. They have a lot of selections for the brownie flavors including seasonal. They also pack their mini brownies into cute gift bags. I love chewy texture in my brownie. Fat Witch brownies are more cake type and they aren't so moist either. I have lived in the States long enough to know their brownies are nothing special. But I can see why it got so popular in Japan for a several reasons. One: the witch character. It is crucial to have a cute character to become popular in Japan. Two: the packaging and size. They have a lot of gift packaging and the size of the brownies are perfect for Japanese. Three: the varaeties of the flavors. Four: marchandising the character. T-shirts, post cards, mugs, shoppung bags etc. I think their marketing tactic is on point but I wish their brownies were more memorable.

I was excited to try this place. I got the milk chocolate brownie and was disappointed when i took a bite and it tasted really dry and hard. The brownie was $2.25 or $2.50 which is a little over priced for something to taste like that. I took maybe 2 bites and threw the rest away.

Hands down best hazelnut brownie I have ever eaten. It was soft and not too sweet. Also tried their white chocolate bar with green tea which was okay. I will definitely come back for their hazelnut brownie and try other flavors.

We were walking through Chelsea Market and came across this bakery and glad we stepped inside. It's one of those places that I wished I could buy a few gifts and a brownie mix before heading home but it was at least another week so I only got a brownie to try. The gifts included brownie packs in various sizes and flavours. The brownies came in two sizes; witches and witch babies. For a small bite and lower calories the babies are cute but for an extra dollar at $3, I thought the witch was a decent price. They have a variety of flavours on the counter by the cash area and I'm not a big fan of really sweet and rich chocolate brownies so I decided on the Blonde Witch. The packaging was cute and I threw it in my purse to eat after dinner. Later that night, we were in the hotel and drug into our brownies. Mine was the perfect amount of sweetness and not dry. I would have liked if there was a little more chocolate inside but it was still good. The next time we were in the market, my friend stopped in for a brownie but I didn't get another as I wanted to enjoy other food that I had yet to try. But during my next visit to NYC, I will come by and try another flavour.

Brownies make the best souvenirs! Whenever my husband travels to NYC, he always makes a trip or three to Chelsea Market for brownies to-go. My kiddos (and I) had fallen in foodie love with the brownies from Fat Witch during our first visit to the city. Super rich, moist, and gives you all the feels of this classic goodie. They are especially sweet when Daddy brings them home to Florida to enjoy. This time we tried: Fat Witch Pecan S'mores The pecan was the highlight!!! Super rich filling tops a moist blondie brownie, and that's topped with a generous layer of crunchy coated pecans. I wish I had asked him to bring home more of these - guess we'll have an excuse to go back to NYC again soon. The staff has always been courteous and the location is clean and conveniently located inside Chelsea Market, a foodies dream location. You can have dinner at Very Fresh Noodles, one of our favorites, and follow it with a scrumptious brownie or other sweet at Fat Witch. Tip: $1.50 brownies after 5pm! They aren't wrapped but they'll package them up in paper and box them if requested. We also buy a 1/2 doz or more to-go.

Are these brownies laced or what????.. just kidding. I usually never buy brownies from stores (usually make my own) since the sugar content from store-bought is usually too high for my liking. This place is an exception. My sister, who lives in NY, swears up and down about this place. So I decided to give it a try and boy, it didn't disappoint. I opted to buy the smallest size... after eating a chunk and sharing the other chunks with my colleagues, everyone fell in love with it. I regret not buying more/multiple flavors to give to people as gifts. Sigh.... next time. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you are here from another state or country visiting/touring, buy more than 1 to take home or give as gifts. They also ship within the U.S. I normally prefer savory over sweet, so for a non-sweet tooth person, I personally didn't think it was too sweet. The brownies had a good balance of chocolaty-ness and creaminess. I got the coffee flavor, and boy, can you sure taste the coffee. I (and others who ate it) all got quite hyper/energetic- from the coffee... or maybe the sugar... totally worth it!

Talk about price gouging! Their brownies at end of day used to be one of the best deals in town at $1.75. Now they've raised the price nearly 300% to $5 for a single brownie. Ridiculous. They've lost my business forever. People ought to boycott this place to punish this kind of price gouging.

Was roaming around Chelsea Market for the first time during our New York weekend trip, my friend goes "hold on, I'm going to go get us some brownies..." In my head, I was like um.. ok.. because we are about to leave to go to Koreatown for our Korean BBQ reservation and here he is trying to get some brownies. So I thought it might be special brownies..... but it was "FAT WITCH"! (ok, who came up with this cute name? we were making jokes about how if we were to talk about fat witch at work but meant the brownies, people would think we're being so rude calling each other that but BROWNIES!) At first, I was reluctant to try and thought it was a tourist trap, until I had my first "half-bite" try size. It was SO delicious. It had the right amount of sweetness and crumbles and dense-ness. If you like your out of the box sugary homemade brownies, this ain't for you. This is REAL homemade brownies. I would totally get this again whenever I'm in Chelsea Market. And also tell my friend to grab me a bag whenever he visits New York!

Initially I was like "tourist trap" style bakery. I thought I was going to overpay for a standard brownie. I was SO WRONG. This place was worth every penny and It tops the list as one of the BEST BROWNIES IVE EVER HAD. That walnut brownie is EVERYTHING AND MORE. When you dream of brownie this is the one you are thinking about!! I ate it went back into the store and ordered another one because, I have no limits and I love sweets and this brownie was delicious!! If I'm ever in Chelsea market again this is a must stop store!!! Highly recommend the fresh brownies, and they box it up nice.

The owner clarified with me that they use cellophane for packaging which is better for the environment.

Went to Chelsea Market for the first time since the Pandemic. Stopped by Fat Witch because had a craving for sweets. They are offering buy one get one free special. I bought a bag of regular brownie ends and got the caramel ones for free. Also got the 6 brownie easter special. And then the lady at the counter snuck a brownie mix in our bag! I didn't realize it until we got home. I opened the regular brownie bag and those taste so good! It's not too sweet, right amount of crispiness, and the after taste is so delicious. I can't stop eating them. I bet the caramel ones are just as good. Must check out Fat Witch! Only 3 people are allowed in the store at a time. It's alright right across from the RBG mural, so you can't miss it!

YUMMMY!! Yes yes Yes and more YES!! My friend went there the other day to pick up some brownies. He got me the Coffee Witch Brownie just 2. Now I'm not a fan or am a person that eats these kinds of treats. So i left it in the fridge and didn't think about it until last night. I was craving for chocolate anything and behold this was in the fridge. Popped it into the oven and took a bite. AHHH HEAVEN!! Simply delicious the coffee has a pop of flavor as an avid coffee drinker this brownie was spot on the coffee flavor and it was so addicting-ly good. I still have one left and contemplating if i should take small bites per a day or just eat the whole thing. Definetly coming back here to STOCK up. This bakery knows what they are doing. I'm hoping to pick up the Green Tea Matcha goodness on the next visit!!

Brownies- 5 stars Customer Service- 1 star First and foremost, I love Fat Witch Brownies. Awhile back someone ordered them for us at worked and by the grace of God of fate or whatever you believe or don't believe in, I found myself standing in front of the Fat Witch Bakery inside of Chelsea Market. I was elated. I immediately remembered those soft, chewy brownies I fell in love with long ago. The store is small, but packs a lot of things inside. You can get the mixture to make the brownies, cups, and other random Fat Witch items, but when you're here- you want a brownie. They have prepackaged mini brownies, prepackaged regular brownies and fresh brownies. Now where they fall flat is their customer service. At first the counter was empty. The female employee comes with her, "what do you want" attitude and basically asks us "you ready yet". "No" we say and she walks away. No help whatsoever. Then she comes back and rushes us again. "Know what you want yet?" "Ready?" Geesh lady. Give me a second to breathe. The bad thing was is that she wasn't offering any help- she just wanted us out of the store. It was a really disappointing visit from a customer service perspective, but damn those brownies are amazing. I guess I gotta stick to ordering them online versus ever going back to the store.

Great brownie. Lots of great looking baked goodies. Simple and attractive decor. Visited there recently and was surprised to see just how empty the Market was on a late Wednesday afternoon. I mean the Market was a ghost town except for a small line at Los Tacos No. 1. Spoke with the staff there who told me just how bad its been with the pandemic. I would hope as pandemic stabilizes and the warm weather emerges, business for all small business like this one wil pick up.

If I were recommending a tourist to NYC, this is one of the places that'd be on my must-eat/must-buy lists. Although this is a small shop, it has a wide variety of brownies that are not only great to try (because they only have the shops in NYC and Japan), but are small enough you can bring back home as a souvenir. They have regular sized brownies that are unwrapped in a small case near the register, and wrapped baby brownies which are smaller in size (and that you can get in cute little boxes). They have really fun flavors like the matcha, citrus, and honey babies, and regular flavors too like the dark chocolate of blonde. In my opinion, the brownies are good when you eat them not too long after you buy them or else the brownies can go stale.

I didn't get a chance to take pictures but the brownies I got were double chocolate and my bf got the oatmeal brownie. Both parties agreed it was not too heavy and overwhelming on the stomach and perfect for a breakfast even. Place in Chelsea marketplace which has a great atmosphere
