Google
Everything we ordered was delicious. I will say if you’re getting the oil noodles and are a big fan of protein add some. The sesame chicken had a great flavor I just wished the chicken to breading ratio was better. We also got the beef lo mein (not pictured) which was really good. I will definitely be coming back for more.

Google
I couldn’t write a review fast enough. Really good food. Everything we ordered was great. Lots of flavor but very well balanced. So excited to find really good Chinese food. Highly recommend the Xiang Splashing Noodles and the fish in black bean sauce. The staff was very nice. We will definitely be back!

Jesus V.

Google
Good food, service and clean. We ordered beef chopsuey and the flavor was very good and with plenty of sauce. We also ordered the salty chicken; the waitress let us know that it was a dry plate. Indeed it was dry; the chicken was delicious but pretty spicy as it has plenty of dry chilies and jalapeño peppers. We also ordered an egg drop soup that was pretty decent. Overall, good place to eat.

Google
3.5 but pretty sure when I come back -- and I will-- it'll be higher. Pros: clearly a local mom and pop which is what makes tucson great. Broad menu. Everything looked great except what I ordered... more on that later. Super friendly server. Crowded so assuming they're generally reliable. Great prices. Cons: service was a little slow, only one server with a packed house and takeout orders... who did great given the situation but service was a little slow. I also ordered the spicy salty fried chicken which just turned out to be small white meat chicken pieces fried and sitting in wonton. Was expecting actual fried chicken maybe should have asked? But the breading was just okay and it really needed a sauce (or dip?) of some sort. But next time I'll do something more saucy and pretty sure I'll be thrilled. Def check them out just don't get the spicy salty chicken unless you just like dry chicken bits.

Google
Went to this restaurant 3 times. We will definitely go more often if it is not that far. The price is very reasonable with big servings. Best 麻辣 (hot 'mah-lah') dishes we ever had in Tucson. There might be other competitive places, but probably more expensive. We tried various hot dishes, satisfied with all. This time, we tried the ma po tofu and shredded pork with garlic sauce😋 Just the right amount of ma for the ma po tofu 👍

Darin B.

Google
General Tso's dish was the best I have had in Tucson, and the crab puffs were good as well.

Angelica D.

Google
Both dishes (Curry Chicken Rice Noodle & Xian Splashing Oil Noodle) we're FANTASTIC!!!!! Very very tasty!

Renae P.

Google
The dish I ordered had a lot of hard fragments throughout, almost like little bone fragments. Plus it was swimming in a pool of oil. Completely inedible. The only saving grace were the egg rolls, but even that didn’t come with the spicy mustard that I requested in my online order for delivery. Probably won’t order from this place again

Yelp
It's been a minute since we were here and it's Friday night in the old Pueblo. We arrived just before 6 pm and just ahead of the big rush which packed all the tables just after we sat down. Maybe about 8 or 9 tables with comfy seats all together and they were also running a brisk pickup and takeout service. Our server was wonderful. We made an order for the Mongolian beef, kung pow chicken , the eggplant in garlic sauce and the xian splash noodles. There didn't seem like there was anything she couldn't do. Those noodles are a chunky type noodle with some sprouts in a citrus tasting sauce the you need to mix up with the sauce to get it all over the noodles and was so delicious. It's something I have only seen here. Same with the eggplant. I know they say garlic sauce on the menu but it's really something else and unique to this kitchen. Whatever it is you must try it. The chicken and beef dishes were also excellent with unique flavors. Always satisfied with our meal here

Yelp
New favorite for Chinese! Recommend: Xian Oil Splashing Noodles Eggplant in Garlic sauce

Yelp
Tiny and nondescript Chinese restaurant serving flavorful takes on American classics, with some lesser-known and more authentic hits. What I love: Every single dish I've tried here is quite heavily seasoned. My favorite among them is the Mongolian Beef--served saucy and with white and green onions really piled on, as it should be. The dinner portions are huge, and the smaller lunch combos make for a great meal at an even better price. I endorse all the beef dishes here--their beef and brocolli is a contender for the best you can find around these parts. What I like: They are really not afraid to make things spicy! I tried the Chongqing Spicy Chicken--I see other patrons ordering it every time I'm here--and was impressed that it approached the limits of my spice tolerance. Loaded with Szechuan peppers (yes they make your mouth tingly) this dish might have more heat than the average person can handle What needs work: As much as I wanted to like my very photogenic plate of poultry, it was just too salty. Maybe I'm not eating enough rice alongside it, but it gets kind of excessive, and that's been the case for every chicken dish I've tried here. They are otherwise all so good, I'm willing to give them repeated tries! When I'm in the mood for Chinese, I'm less keen on these flashy spots inside suburban strip malls, and find myself gravitating toward Fatman every time. Not perfect, but better than most Chinese you can get in this city!

Yelp
Got the MaPo Tofu again. It's got a rich chili sauce which I think is probably the best in Tucson. A nice special at lunch is 2 cha-su bao for $3.99.

Yelp
We had a feast delivered. Seriously good food. Some great flavors and neatly packaged. The hot and sour soup was particularly outstanding. Particular kudos for cooking vegetables so they still had good texture. By the way we ordered enough to get the free crab wontons and they were yummy.

Yelp
Amazing food every time. I have yet to dine in but every time I order online I get my food piping hot and always correct. The soups are delicious and my fav is the garlic eggplant. They have some of the best fried rice also. I ask for extra spice and they don't shy from the heat. One of the best Chinese in Tucson. I have had the salty and spicy tofu but I believe it would be better in store. I love their eggrolls as well.

Christie P.

Yelp
Ordered Chinese garlic eggplant. Was hoping for the traditional sauce of light and dark soy sauce but instead received an unrecognizable sauce with jalapeños! And on the upside, place is very clean!
google avatar

Raycom T.

Yelp
We had 夫妻肺片 (cold meat appetizer)、重庆辣子鸡 (Chong Qing Spicy Chicken) and 西安油泼面 (Xi'an Fat Noodles). All were great! Sorry I didn't take a note of the English names from the menu.
google avatar

Mandy T.

Yelp
I came here for dinner last week with a friend. The garlic cucumber salad was really good--fresh and flavorful--but very spicy, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to heat. The vegetable ho fun noodles were unfortunately far too salty for my taste, and the sweet and sour chicken leaned a bit too sweet. That said, service was excellent, which made the overall experience more enjoyable.

Yelp
I went on a Saturday night, the restaurant was full and many customers were waiting for a table or to pick up an order. The server was friendly and polite and he was very fast managing all the tables alone! The place was clean but small, and surprisingly very busy. The menu had so many different types of food to try, I enjoyed the experience trying the eggplant dish and the cucumber salad and the chicken curry.

Elia A.

Yelp
From the moment I walked in I was greeted very nicely by my server. The ambiance was amazing, when I went in there was various open tables but it got a little crowded as more people came in but was no bother to me. Now the food was amazing!!!! It came out hot and fresh you can see the steam on the pictures, not too hot where I burned my mouth while eating, it was the perfect temperature. The flavor was so good im excited to try more from their menu!:)
google avatar

Gloria M.

Yelp
First time here. We came based on the reviews and curiosity about the splashing noodles. The service was amazing. Our waiter was very helpful & friendly. We had the noodles, orange chicken and hot & sour soup. The orange chicken was delicious & hot. Not warm & chewy like other places. The soup had the perfect amount of heat. The splashing noodles were different & very tasty. An excellent meal. We will definitely return soon.

Yelp
We had a nice relaxing, very large lunch! We purposely chose this restaurant because of the YELP reviews, and it did Not disappoint! I was looking for something a little more authentic than the regular Panda, and I was very satisfied with each dish!! Keeping in mind, I'm an "extra-sauce" kind of girl, lol, that is what I requested on each dish, along with a small charge for extra peanuts! absolutely worth it! The Sweet and sour was nicely flavored, not overly sweet either! Dumplings sauce, I could have swam in, it was divine! My son enjoyed his beef with mixed vegetables, and the shrimp in my Kung Pao were large, cleaned and nicely flavored! Sweet and Salty wings, were lightly battered and fried to perfection! The server, Chen, I believe was her name, she was adorably kind and overall we had a FABULOUS time!! I'm excited to return and try some new dishes, especially the Mongolian Beef!!

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Tucson. The walnut shrimp is very large and tasty. Thank you
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
The food here was some of the best Chinese food we have ever had. I highly recommend the Splashing Noodles and the Fish in black bean sauce. My wife really liked the sesame chicken. I normally avoid sweeter flavors like sesame chicken but I have to admit it was good and not overly sweet. The flavors of everything there were really well balanced. The staff was very friendly and the service was very efficient. On the other end of things, my wife has a sensitive stomach and had no issues here. The ambiance may not be that of a 4 or 5 star restaurant but the food more than makes up for it! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been looking for good Chinese food in Tucson for years and I think I've finally found my new favorite spot! My friend recommended Fatman Kitchen which was a blessing to my taste buds. I tried the spicy chicken wings, splashing noodle, and hot and sour soup, and everything was so flavorful and delicious--I couldn't stop eating. It was seriously that good! The place gets busy during dinner, so it's a good idea to show up early if you want quicker service. Things were a little slow when I went, but honestly, the food was worth the wait.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
I ordered takeout from here a couple weeks ago after wanting for so long to return here. I'm happy to say the green beans remain delicious! I didn't take pictures but I ordered the xian oil splashing noodle dish that seemed to have great reviews on here, and I have to say, I'll never do that again. it was both oily (as described) but also really salty. im not a fan of larger cut thick noodles, and this was no exception. I and a couple others found the dish to be lacking, especially without meat. i also ordered the cumin beef and the sesame chicken. These were awesome. still recommend this place to any and everyone!

Yelp
Looking for actually good Chinese food in Tucson? Congrats you finally found it! Let me tell you, the outside does not even reflect the gem that is inside. They have some traditional Chinese dim sum options along with your go to Chinese food to pair. When I saw this older man who obviously worked there come in from the outside with a bag of FRESH green beans I knew I was in for a treat. Honestly everything is freshly made I could tell right of the bat with the quality of the food. They pay attention to detail with sauces as well, my husband usually gets a sesame chicken and myself a generally I get a orange chicken or general tso which some places you can tell they use the same sauce and they do not. The flavor for both dishes were amazing and I didn't have one complaint. The service was ok.. they did have a help wanted sign in the front but for obvious reasons we dined in and there was one girl working the entire room which was impressive honestly so I didn't expect amazing service but we didn't wait long at all. The crab Rangoons sweet and sour sauce is definitely made in house. Overall the quality and flavor are OUTSTANDING this is the best Chinese food in Tucson.
google avatar

Marvis B.

Yelp
It's kinda on the small side for space so it can be a little crowded at times, but it's well worth it. The service is great! Polite and attentive crew! Food was delicious! Seasoned just right! Best Egg Flower Soup I have ever tasted! I didn't even add soy sauce.
google avatar

Parker E.

Yelp
Some of the best Chinese takeout I have ever had. A must try for a late night meal or a quick bite to eat before or after a hike in the foot hills.

Tucson Cold Wet Noses C.

Yelp
My friends ordered the Mongolian beef and another beef dish full of onions and they said it wasn't very good. I ordered the curry vegetarian and it didn't impress. It was dry and tasteless. I really loved the egg rolls and my friends really loved the crab puffs. They need to bring extra dishes when they have people eating appetizers and then bring bigger dishes when they have people ordering the big bowls of food. That way everyone can share. I would possibly go back for sure for the appetizers cuz they were really good. Maybe order something different than what we ordered for the main dishes.
google avatar

Taylor F.

Yelp
Had it for takeout, really fast service and delicious food. My husband and I are GF, so we subbed out for rice noodles and avoided soy sauce, I'm sure it was much better originally so I don't recommend making substitutions. We got the house pad Thai and another beef dish.
google avatar

Phong V.

Yelp
Beef hofun was disgusting super salty how is this restaurant received so many positive reviews is beyond me
google avatar

Belldandy C.

Yelp
My bf and I have been wanting to try this place out and finally made it here for some lunch. There was 1 other table when we arrived and we were seated quickly. We ordered 5 dishes to try and everything was so delicious. I think the walnut shrimp we ordered is some of the best I've ever had. If you like pickled garlic cucumbers, theirs are delicious! It was the perfect app to open up the stomach for all the yummy food. Overall, great place with great food. They also have lunch specials until 3pm!
google avatar

Brenda C.

Yelp
I was a bit disappointed with the splashing noodles. A bit salty, perhaps too much oyster sauce used. The kung pao and orange chicken were tasty along with the broccoli beef. Nothing stood out for me so I likely will not return. The service was great.
google avatar

Maria E.

Yelp
Great food. Many people coming in for takeout. Next time that's our takeout place. I ordered the beef with broccoli. Honestly, it was the beast I've had since I can recall. My husband got the shrimp curry. He enjoyed it as well. Pleasant people in a small, super casual setting. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Leilani M.

Yelp
Yummy Galore! We had this food delivered and let me tell you it was still hot when we received it. I can tell they make their food fresh! The lo mein is a def must try and the beef braised noodle soup was superb with a little spicy kick! If you're in the area I would def recommend this spot. Thank me later ;)

Yelp
Fatman's Chinese is one of our new favorites. The restaurant is clean with seating for different parties. The prices and quality of food is what really stands out. While it has some more traditional American style Chinese, it also has some more dishes that remind us of more authentic Chinese dishes. Regardless of the style, the food is fantastic. The flavors are complex with distinct flavor. Mongolian tastes Mongolian, Xi'an tastes like Xi'an, and Sichuan tastes like Sichuan. Too often American style Chinese all tastes the same regardless of the region of the dish, but here each style is distinct. In addition to the flavor, the quality and quality of the meat, vegetables and noodles is wonderful. We have not found a dish we did not love. For me in particular, I love spicy food and hot and sour soup is a comfort food. The hot and sour soup here is some of the best I have had. The level of pepper spice is perfect, the broth is deep and rich, and it is perfectly balance with a sour edge. If you are looking for some of the best American style Chinese that has more authentic Chinese touches, we highly recommend Fatman's!

maynard g. k.

Yelp
I haven't been here in a few years. I used to go here and thought some of the dishes great, the shredded pork and lamb, but sometimes they use some kind of fearsome spice that I can't handle and that's what happened this time again with the ma po tofu I ordered. I guess, at least for me, the trick is to tell them *not spicy*! Have my old reviews disappeared?
google avatar

TJ W.

Yelp
Awful service and the food is mediocre at best. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Lusy D.

Yelp
This is my go to DoorDash delivery restaurant for a reason. Even after delivery, the food is still so hot and fresh. I've tried out the house fried rice, eggplants, salt and pepper chicken, and walnut shrimp so far. The food is very well seasoned and their portions will last you 3 through 3 meals. If you're looking for good Chinese takeout, don't skip out on this spot.
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
Okay so hear me out. The food was delicious. We ordered on DoorDash. We loved it. However, and this is the reason for the 1 star. Everyone in our household who ate from the takeout got violently sick within hours, had a sleepless night fighting over bathrooms.
google avatar

Sean L.

Yelp
One of the best Chinese restaurants I've had in a long time they make everything fresh and it comes out fast

Hakeem A.

Yelp
Love this place in and out!! Food was nice and hot the prices amazing and the customer service

Nancy L.

Yelp
The food is excellent, never had a bad menu item. The portions are large and very filling. It is usually very quiet in there and the servers are very attentive. It is clean. Take out is also fantastic. They never miss

Charles G.

Yelp
It's a mom and pop store with excellent food and service. Some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. The employees are very friendly and the service is prompt. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back in the future.
google avatar

Evie S.

Yelp
I enjoyed the eggplant tofu dish. I also really liked that the waiter knew which dishes could be made without animal ingredients in the sauce.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
Great local Chinese food, always great service, and restaurant is kept well. A must try on your next Chinese craving!
google avatar

Ken R.

Yelp
Thanks to all the very positive Yelp reviews about this restaurant, I went this evening. One of the best tests of a good Chinese meal is the egg drop soup test. They passed with flying colors! My order was amazingly flavorful and incredibly spicy; as they said it would be. I didn't enjoy it as much due to the heat, but I cannot complain because I was warned. It was an awesome experience. The service was great, and while there was only one other table eating in, they had a steady flow of food going out the door for takeout and meal delivery. Will absolutely go back and try some other slightly less spicy stuff.
google avatar

Amber D.

Yelp
Dined alone-ordered an app, entree, dessert. Pork potstickers were okay. Spicy Garlic fried chicken was crunchy, packed with flavor, better than I anticipated. Will go again to try more options.

Solomon S.

Yelp
Went in for the first time with a coworker and we had the lunch special which was delicious good seasoned cooked rice and good flavored orange chicken nice and crisp alos nice and crunchy vegetable egg roll. Good atmosphere and very nice staff would definitely recommend
google avatar

Eugene A.

Yelp
Our food was pretty greasy and after spending over $50, with a discount, for two entrees we discover that rice wasn't included. I guess 50¢ of rice is worth more than my return business. I had to go out to another place to buy the rice. (We ordered through DoorDash)
google avatar

B S.

Yelp
Finally made it to Fatman last week, food was great and reasonably priced, service was good, facilities were acceptable as far as I'm concerned, great for a Chinese food date night. Make sure you try the dumplings and Mongolian Beef as well as the egg flower soup. We will return for sure!
google avatar

Tzu-En L.

Yelp
Love love love this place. I highly recommended this place and I am Asian born in Taiwan. This place is more like home cooking Asian food. I highly recommend their spicy splashing noodle, egg plant stir fry, stir fry lamb, and others. They make the food very flavorful and tasty. I ordered so many times from here and the quality has been same and consistent. It is def one of my fav spot in Tucson for home like setting food

Erin L.

Yelp
Amazing delicious food that I can't rave about enough. The beef noodle soup defies explanation it's so good. The pork bao are fire. The green bean stir fry is a symphony of garlic and sauces. Service was fast. We ordered a lot but they were sure to double check my order before I left (without even being asked) to make sure it was right before I left. We are excited for our next visit.
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
As someone who has lived a good amount of time in China, I have been absolutely blown away by the quality of Chinese food found in Tucson. I would never had guessed to find so many options here and Fatman Kitchen is no exception. The menu is so extensive that you might have a hard time choosing but I wasn't disappointed in any of the dishes we ordered and I expect all of the other dishes would have been similar. ***Be warned, this is authentic Chinese food; so don't go in expecting to get Panda Express type of food. The KungPao Chicken 宫保鸡丁 (which is a local specialty dish of the Sichuan province in China) was so tasty. Crispy chicken with all of the spicy sweetness required of KungPow chicken. This dish here is definitely better than some of the KungPao dishes I've had in China. The eggplant was also cooked to perfect; so many places leave it drenched in too much sauce but you won't find that here; so satisfied by the quality of this food. A much visit for authentic Chinese food!
google avatar

Mateo K.

Yelp
Best Chinese food I've had in Tucson. House lomein is amazing, wonton soup is delicious. great and fast service.

Melinda M.

Yelp
It's been 4 years since friend and I were here last time. We got there at noon, which is when they open. The place has had some updates with (glass top) grills on most of the tables. Otherwise, pretty much the same decor. We were waited on immediately. Our server was knowledgable and friendly. In looking at the menu, it's changed quite a bit. Now it's standard Chinese fare; the unusual dishes/food are gone. Friend ordered Kung Pao Shrimp; I ordered Mongolian Chicken (extra spicy) and an order of Potstickers. The Potstickers came and were unusual in that they seemed to be baked, not fried. They were really good regardless. We were barely done with the Potstickers when our food arrived. Friend had a lot of hot chilis in hers; I had none. I had asked for chili sauce on the side so I was able to add heat to the dish. Both of us really liked the food, but we had been hoping for something more non-traditional (to us) food. The disturbing part was at the end of our meal, I noticed that our table was dirty. It had not been cleaned from the previous day. I'm giving them 4 stars for good food, 3 stars for the dirty table. It's a small place and it wouldn't take long to clean the tables at closing time the day before.

Yelp
Was excited to try Chinese food in Tuscon but had higher hopes. We ordered three dishes to share between two people and had leftovers for 1.5 more meals after (decently large portion sizes). Pita bread soaked in lamb soup: first time trying this dish. Was enjoyable, had nothing to compare it to so of the dishes I liked this one the most. Its noted as very spicy on the menu but there isn't much spice at all. Occasional stragglers of thin clear noodles which felt a bit out of place considering the trace amount in the dish. Lamb was good. Xian oil noodles had an odd texture. Typically these noodles are hand pulled and taste pretty bouncy. These noodles had more of a dumpling skin thickness and texture so we weren't impressed. Not much oil in the dish. Mongolian beef dish: flavor was nice but the meat was very soft. Dish was ok.
