"In 1939, Frank Fat started wok frying deliciousness in downtown Sacramento, and the hits haven’t stopped coming: Fat went on to open a few restaurants and dim sum bars in his time, in Folsom and Roseville, too. The red chili tiger prawns are tough to beat, and dumplings are a surefire way to have a good time — very road trip friendly, too." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri

Great atmosphere, drinks and food! Friendly service! Love this place, not too crowded or packed. Perfect for a nice lunch or dinner. Great cocktails!

The food was good, but we got our food very late and had to wait a long time—45 minutes—before they seated us. It was a Friday night, so make reservations in advance; waiting with kids is no fun. The food also arrived very late, which can ruin your experience if you’ve already finished your appetizers and are just waiting for the main course. I had the same problem again: their hosts are usually not very friendly, with an attitude of just wanting to get the orders done. I just go for the yummy food, but I wish the company would start investing in training their hosts.

Overall, it really hit the spot for my cravings. The walnut shrimp was tasty. The green beans left a lot to be desired but the chicken lettuce cups were refreshing.

I was pleasantly surprised when my Son-In-Love and My daughter whisked me away to Mother's Day Dinner at Fat's in Roseville. I tried to go to one of these restaurants several years ago. I wanted to have a birthday lunch at the Folsom location but, I was unable to arrange both reservations on the same day so, I got my massage and missed out on Fat's Asian Bistro. We had a beautiful experience. The food was great, our server was awesome, we had leftovers. The atmoshere was great and the restaurant wasn't overly crowded like we heard the Folsom location was when my daughter called early to make a reservation. We will definitely be back for more occasions and delicious food.

Google
The food was amazing! Definitely full of flavor every dish is seasoned to perfection and genuinely can taste every note, the staff was very friendly for arriving the last 30 minutes before closing. It was great service, but with that being said they could spend more time cleaning and being more detailed, I had dust on my lamp at eye level which could be easily noticed especially while sitting at the booth, for being a upscale restaurant or any type establishment, I think this could be easily avoided, especially when it’s at eye level!! Still worth giving this place a shot. It’s got phenomenal food.

Google
What a treat tonight! It’s PF Chang’s on steroids. So much better. Food is next level. Place is super cool vibe. Server was friendly and informative. Food comes out piping hot and lots of it. Plan on sharing meals. Appetizers are fantastic. Drinks are tasty and strong! Price point is very fair for what you get. Clean and tastefully decorated restaurant. Make a reservation or come at an off time because it’s busy!

Great food, great service. When they have the specials they are very worth it. Look for the special menu. Can get very crowded so it is hard to get in certain times of the week, but if you don't have set eating times. Then you could go after 7 pm or later and get seated pretty quickly.

Google
The perfect place to have a delicious dinner! We had a group dinner and had reserved the back table behind the beautiful fireplace! We received the most Wonderful service! And the food was served hot and fresh! A+ to Fat's and their team❤️

Yelp
Very Pan Asian fancy cuisine. Didn't like the pepper steak or Dan Dan noodles too much. The spice needed to be hotter and their chili oil was a bit salty. The garlic noodles, crab ragoons, and honey walnut shrimp were really good. I like that all the food wasn't oily. The banana cream pie and crème brûlée were surprise hits. We were the only Asian people in the restaurant . I guess that says something too. But overall it wasn't bad. I probably won't go back by choice but if I had to pick a place for a "nice" dinner in Roseville, this could be a choice.

Crystal L.

Yelp
Overall, the food here was mediocre. Not bad but not good enough to justify me coming back, especially the price for what the food is. If you want Chinese food, I would recommend just going to the mom and pop shops. It would be more authentic and more affordable. Green beans were good flavor wise but not as tender as I would like. Honey walnut prawns were ok. Good taste but very small shrimp. Definitely frozen, peeled shrimp. Orange chicken, my partner said had good flavor but lacking the authentic orange taste. Dan Dan noodles were good, the spicy numbing taste was there but missing the umami flavor. Chocolate decadence is a flourless chocolate cake, very beautiful presentation but the cake itself was very dense and a little too sweet for me. The best thing here was the service. Our waitress was attentive and apologetic for the slow kitchen service, she checked in on us and even brought us extra sauces to try with our food. It was fine but nothing to boast about.

Yelp
Came here to have lunch with the fam, and nothing's really changed over the years...except for pricing across the board around 20%. Luckily our go to items were still available and flavorful (young shew fried rice, honey walnut chicken, flank steak stir fry and garlic noodles w/chicken, which was lacking garlic flavor tho). Unfortunately, as the prices went up, the portions shrank. Smaller serving plate made the items look plentiful. That's pretty much what rising food/ingredients costs will do to you. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance throughout the restaurant was relaxing in a somewhat intimate setting. No sign of any Christmas decorations yet, but I'm sure they'll be up in a couple of weeks. If you've got time and want to enjoy a great lunch, and I'm sure dinner, come on down to Fat's in Roseville...also one in Folsom as well.

Yelp
Has been a few decades since I have grabbed a bite here. Family lunch tgis time. The food is good with a big variety of options including some yummy starters. The coconut shrimp and shrimp dumplings were really good. I ordered the Ahi Poke that was quite filling and good. We all split a few slices of banana cream pie. Oh my! The best I have had. The service was good.

Micki M.

Yelp
Getting caught up on my reviews and Fats is a place we enjoy coming to. Love that their Happy Hour goes on during the weekends when it's difficult to get everyone to meet before it ends. The food, drinks, and service has always been great. Love their garlic noodles and their dumplings are also a hit . I love their Har Gow. Also Love their outdoor patio when it gets too crowded inside. I don't know why we seem to forget to include Fats in our rotation but I highly recommend..

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Fats is just as many have said, it's good Chinese food but at a premium price. I We liked the ambiance of the Roseville location since it was open and relaxing. My favorite dish here is their Mongolian beef and their fried rice.

Yelp
Ambiance Fancy place, modern, nice bar. Rate 5 Customer Service Jules started good but disappeared. I asked for orange slices for my water, she did not bring it, got it myself. Food took a long time to come out, party next to us was almost done eating when our food came out, food was hot so I think she did not place the order timely. It was at the end of the night and she was busing tables, she finally came by and I asked for water. Rate 2 Food Sushi Platter Fish fresh. Good Young Shew Fried Rice Good Chicken with Asparagus This was delicious, full of flavor. The star of all the dishes. Bulgogi Pork Lo Mei Pork overcooked. Not good

Yelp
Went here on Christmas Eve, the place was fully reserved with a 3 hour wait time. HOWEVER, the bar was open seating and full menu! So we ate at the bar and it was a great experience! Had a few drinks and some great food! I always recommend the spicy garlic green beans! The lemon drops were fantastic! Had leftovers and they were delicious as well!

Maggie W.

Yelp
Came with some friends, we got the honey walnut shrimp, bulgogi pork lo mien, and dimsum bowl. For dessert: crème brulee and banana cream pie. On Tuesdays there are some menu items that are cheaper, so about $17 each! The lo mien noodles were so chewy and held good flavor. The walnut shrimp is always a classic. For sharing across four people the dimsum bowl was a bit on the smaller side, but overall all the dishes were pretty filling. I liked that the crème brûlée came with strawberries! Such a good flavor combo. Service was a bit on the slow side, but very attentive! The interior decoration is nice and classy with high ceilings. Definitely worth a try if you're in the Roseville area!

Annie L.

Yelp
This place and the ambiance is just beautiful, with a lovely setting, very friendly staff, and elegantly presented food. This place makes you feel good! The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is although the food is prepared very well, it was very good but not great. I guess this is really a fusion restaurant and caters to non-Asian taste. There were no Asians in the restaurant not even on staff! And this is supposed to be an Asian restaurant. But that's not what we came for, the food was still very good and the service was wonderful. If I wanted authentic Asian food, I would go across the street to the other mall where there is a restaurant with authentically Asian food. But yes, this is a really nice and elegant place where you would be very comfortable bringing your friends and have a nice experience.

Tammy P.

Yelp
We had some business in the area so thought we would stop for a drink and some appetizers. Happy hour has a few items for good prices. Found a couple of chairs at the bar and ordered a couple of drinks and a couple of small plates. Had some Baos, Crispy Honey Shrimp and Spareribs. I had a Manhattan which was good. The Baos were good but not a lot of filling. The shrimp was good as usual but the spareribs were very fatty. We couldn't finish them. The staff are very helpful and always check in to see if you need anything.

Yelp
Best Chinese food I've had. Food felt light and didn't leave me with a heavy feeling. Non greasy. Takes so fresh . Atmosphere is beautiful as well .we had a party of 3 and sat at a large table with a lazy Susan . Love it!!!! Large portions .

Denise M.

Yelp
Excellent! We've never had a bad meal here. We had a party of ten celebrating a 60th birthday. Our server was on spot. The good is elevated and so good.

Rose C.

Yelp
Been curious about this place each time I drive by and finally decided to stop in on a Friday for lunch. The exterior decor was attractive with the outdoor seating. Walking in through the heavy wooden door, I was ready to be impressed. The restaurant was huge and clean but interior was some sort of eclectic Asian style interior. The use of wooden frames, beams, drapes, furniture which was cool but then there were tacky assorted color paper lanterns and a couple of huge palm trees just in the midst of it all that somehow diminished the potentially classy ambiance. Service was average. Ordered a mock-tail but got a real deal instead. The food was mediocre for being pricey. Unfortunately, the experience was just underwhelming.

Yelp
From the vibes, to the fast service to the incredible food, this place deserves a 10 star review! We sat at the bar on a busy Saturday and especially loved having Noah as our bartender. Even though they were slammed busy, we still felt well taken care of. We had them Dim Sum Basket to try out all their best dim sums and we were not disappointed. This is the only spot that we've had Honey Walnut Chicken, and it's no wonder it's one of their crowd favorites. Stop by and check this place out, you'll love it!

Yelp
I recently was put on a low sodium diet. Our family had a special birthday dinner. I called ahead to see what I could order that met my dietary needs. They were very helpful and I had a great time and a meal that met my needs! Can't beat that!

Yelp
Just wanted to share my recent experience at this restaurant. Dropped by on a late Friday afternoon, after a tiresome workday. The moment we entered, the place had such an inviting and open ambiance, the fans providing a refreshing breeze Surprisingly, there was no waiting, we were seated immediately at 5:15 PM. The wait staff was knowledgeable about their menu, which was quite reassuring. Our drinks, along with an appetizer, were served promptly. Must say, their jalapeño cilantro margarita was hands down, excellent The lemon drop, however, was a bit lacking..meh We ordered a basket of dim sum to sample various flavors, it was decent. For the entrées, we dove into a combination of fried rice, walnut prawns, and Mongolian beef. The prawns were over-fried, sadly and the Mongolian beef overcooked, but had an enjoyable flavor. A shoutout to their fried rice though, it's a must-try we indulged in their crème brûlée for dessert. The sugar was not fully caramelized, and the crème taste was pretty ordinary. All in all, a mixed bag but definitely worth another visit for that margarita and fried rice!

Yelp
I come to Sacramento once a year from Hawaii and I come home and share my new dining experiences through Yelp. This time my sister in law picked me up and took me to Fats Asia Bistro in Roseville, think upscale dim sum. It looked like a new restaurant with very nice decor. I let my family order for us since they've been here before and the experience did not disappoint. We started with pork ribs and potstickers for appetizers. The ribs were the star of the night, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The flavor reminded me of Chinese roast duck, delicious. The potstickers were also a winner with 3 different types served as a plate. The seafood curry was very good also if you like spicy, which I do. I think most of our dinner items were at least a little spicy. We also dined on chow fun (flat noodles) and a stir fry dish I can't remember and fried rice. In Hawaii we have decent fried rice and Fats serves a good one. I didn't partake in dessert but the others sure enjoyed theirs. I would return here again and will order those ribs again.

Yelp
Came in on a Tuesday evening and sat at the bar to enjoy the happy hour. Great recommendations from the bartender. Extremely informative and friendly -outstanding customer service! Forgot to take pictures on the orange chicken but the orange chicken and honey walnut prawns were amazing!! The spicy miso dip with the calamari was delicious. Also, best Mai Tai I've ever had!! Thank you Fats Roseville for great drinks, food and A+ service!

Buck C.

Yelp
It started with the hostess just glancing at us and saying you can go sit in the bar. Didn't even ask us if we wanted a table and didn't even look at us after that. We eventually walked tot he bar area sat down and were given menus and the waiter or whatever he was just started walking away. We had to stop him and ask if we could have some water at least. Waited a while and just overall felt an unfriendly vibe here and that we were just bugging the staff by being there. I'm sure this review won't matter, because they seem like a busy place, but yeah from the limited experience there I'll probably never go back here.

Bruce B.

Yelp
Emily at the bar was extremely accommodating and friendly. Fast service and excellent food here. This was my first time at this location and am very impressed with the efficiency of this spot. See you here!

Susan D.

Yelp
I will say, we were skeptical about going in because we didn't haven't a great experience last time but I just love the food so we thought we'd give it another shot and I'm glad we did ! My families experience was amazing! We went in to celebrate my birthday on Friday and had an amazing waitress! Cinthia was super friendly and attentive, she made my whole family feel right at home. Even got a slice of pie for desert and she sang happy birthday to me along with my family. The food was amazing as always and the atmosphere tied it all together. Definitely look forward to going in again.

Mandy L.

Yelp
This spot tripped me out because I felt like I was walking into a Cheesecake Factory but you know what matters most is flavor and this place delivered! Food was excellent! We ordered the young shew fried rice, the genghis khan beef, and the king pao salmon and all of it was DELICIOUS! I loved the slightly unusual ingredients in the rice and using salmon for the king pao and the dishes delivered on flavor and execution. The salmon was melt in your mouth tender which is impressive for the smaller cuts in the dish that they didn't get overcooked but stayed moist. Don't get me wrong, the pieces were hardy but not so large they didn't make sense in the dish which made it easy to eat. They have an extensive cocktail and booze menu but we didn't partake so I can't comment on drinks beyond tea and water. I was visiting a friend and she lives in the area. Despite its chain feel vibes (it's locally owned) I loved it. Once I got past that initial vibe, the flavors are solid. I would absolutely come back when we are back in the area.

Carolina D.

Yelp
Unfortunately very underwhelming. Ended up hear as a last minute drop in, sat at the bar. The restaurant was busy with an older American crowd. Staff was nice but the food was not good at all. Ordered the bulgolgi to share, the happy hour wings and lumpia. It all came out fairly quick, the lumpia was the best thing we ordered however not worth it at $7 for 3 small pieces. Did not see a single Asian person in the kitchen...

John B.

Yelp
An absolutely amazing night was had last night at Fat's Asia Bistro in Roseville. We went to celebrate our cousin's 35th birthday and what a great time we had. We made a 4:30pm reservation and we were seated right when we walked in. The food was amazing (so much better than PF Changs). We had the Honey Walnut Prawns (2 servings), Sweet & Sour Chicken, Imperial Fried Rice, Bulgogi Pork Lo Mein, Chicken Chow Mein, Mongolian Beef, White Rice, and a piece of Banana Cream Pue for the birthday boy (compliments of the restaurant). Every dish was hot and satisfying. We had just the right amount of food for our group of 8 adults and 4 children. In addition to the incredible food, we also had great service as well. We will definitely be back!

Krysten I.

Yelp
Fats was definitely an interesting experience for me. I am already hyper aware that I am half Asian whenever I visit the continent so when I am in a Chinese restaurant and appear to be the only Asian American person inside, it was like I was hypersensitive to everything that was happening. First off, when you walk inside, it gives kind of an attraction restaurant vibe. Like rainforest cafe at Disneyland. Why are there palm trees? I don't know. Is that huge painting of two Chinese people supposed to be of the owners? Or are they just random Chinese people? We will never know. I will say that I like the open-ness of the restaurant and that there is a lot of natural light and high ceilings. Also, everyone was non-Asian. Staff, managers, waiters, busboys, kitchen staff, customers. Like at what point is this cultural appropriation? From the limited dishes I had, they definitely are Americanized. The flavors were good though for American chinese food and I think the house noodles with seafood were my favorite. We also had honey walnut shrimp, green beans and the dim sum basket. I won't go into the problems that having a dim sum basket on the menu poses, but give the people what they want? You won't find people eating dim sum for dinner anywhere but American "chinese" restaurants. And steaming frozen gyoza doesn't capture what dim sum is all about in the slightest. Anywayyyy. I was surprised at how limited the menu was. I'm used to going to chinese restaurants with pages and pages of options. That's alright though, I still think you'll find something for everyone to like here. Lastly, the dessert. We were told to get the banana cream pie. I thought it was delicious. It was full of fresh bananas and fresh whipped cream. But it's the least Chinese thing on the menu I think. I'm not from Roseville or anywhere in California really. So I can't tell you where to go in the area that would be better. If you like Chinese food, I would check out fats. I think they have a good happy hour too and their drinks looked pretty good.

Howard W.

Yelp
This is beautiful restaurant to walk in at anytime. But the service provided with is not nice and with an attitude. A lady who worked there make you feel you are not existing at front her at all regardless how many times you asked for service. And eventually she answered me by saying she has asked another person to help. No more Interesting to be here a

Hanan T.

Yelp
My favorite Asian/Thai food in Roseville. Such a great place to share food family style. I've never left this place hungry. Good service delicious food!

mcs S.

Yelp
The food was "meh," and the waitress was not attentive. We tipped her more than she deserved. We were celebrating Mom's 90th birthday. The waitress brought over a complimentary dessert with a candle, and we, those of us sitting at the table, sang Happy Birthday. There was no camaraderie from the patrons and nothing from the staff. As I said, the food was just "meh," I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and I wouldn't go again.

Heidi S.

Yelp
I have been here lots of times for lunch since my workplace is nearby. I think I consistently order the wrong thing because I just don't find it to be as great as I have always heard. It's also VERY expensive for what you get. I would not recommend getting the lunch portion unless you are a child. I reluctantly agreed to lunch here again last week. My co-worker told me that she always gets the orange chicken. I decided to give it a go. She was not wrong; it was absolutely delicious!!! She really likes the Chinese chicken salad. I feel like the entrees should come with rice since every other Chinese restaurant includes it with the meal. Party of 2: two sodas, Chinese chicken salad, Orange chicken and a side of rice (since it's not included)= $62.00 A little obnoxiously priced for lunch...but that is just the way of the world right now.

Amy B.

Yelp
Love the ambiance here. Soft lighting, Christmas lights on palm trees. Very nice. We went with friends and ordered several dishes to share. The food is served family style, from a lazy susan in the center of the table. We all thought the portion sizes were small, especially for being "family style". If you have a family bigger than 4, you'll need several dishes to fill you up. Our group of 5 went through 3 appetizers and 6 entrees. That being said, the food was fresh and tasted good (little on the salty side though, and the garlic was weak in the garlic noodles). Our waitress looked pretty annoyed when we asked to have the check split, otherwise, she was nice. They have several vegetarian dishes. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd go back again.

Kiran K.

Yelp
**Disappointing Experience at Fats** I've been a regular at Fats for some time and usually love the food and service, but our recent visit was quite disappointing. We were a group of 8, and from the start, it felt like the waiter was disinterested in serving us. She lacked the welcoming attitude we're used to and ended up messing up several parts of our order. First, the potstickers we ordered were served cold and didn't taste fresh, as if they had been sitting out for a while. Second, we ordered three Imperial Chicken Fried Rice dishes, but one of them looked very different. When we asked about it, the waiter insisted they were all the same but said one had "more soy sauce," which didn't seem like a proper explanation. The kids' meals were also problematic. The meal was supposed to include an egg roll, but instead, they gave steamed rice. Even though this was fixed for one child, my son still ended up with steamed rice instead of the egg roll we requested. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially given how much we've enjoyed this restaurant in the past. I hope this was just an off day, but it was frustrating to deal with multiple mistakes and lackluster service in a place we've always enjoyed.

Corey J.

Yelp
We recently went to Fats for a change up to our regular eat spots. We tried more options this time. Appetizers were ribs & lumpia. We had garlic lo mein noodles, rice, orange chicken, veggie dish, and teriyaki chicken bowl type dish. The food was really good. We usually get the banana cream pie for desert because it's phenomenal. The service did not disappoint. Additionally, the setting is always relaxed and appears low key. Next time we go back, we will try more and more items from the menu.

Mo O.

Yelp
First time here, went with family while in-town visiting. Very much enjoyed the food and the experience, and would definitely go back. The place itself is very nice both inside and out. Not decorated like a traditional Chinese restaurant, it feels more like you are at an attraction restaurant as another reviewer put it so well. I liked the atmosphere; a bit dark, good for conversation, relaxing. Good staff and service, the type of place where there are staff (in addition to the servers) who keep an eye on the tables to clear plates or bring water, etc. Although the restaurant and the staff all have an upscale feel, you can dress very casually here. Jeans and t-shirts are fine. But what we really enjoyed was the food. Not authentic Chinese, but an American take on Chinese much like PF Changs (only much better than PF Changs.) We had salt and pepper chicken, Korean sticky wings, and pork dumplings for appetizers. All were good, with the salt and pepper chicken being the favorite at our table. For entrees we had mongolian beef, the steak kew, orange chicken, and garlic noodles. The garlic noodles were awesome; I could have eaten just those and been happy. Steak kew very tender and tasty. Mongolian beef was not overpowered with soy sauce and salt, but instead had a more subtle flavor. Orange chicken was good, but on par with other Chinese places. They have a good sized parking lot, so parking would not be an issue. And is fairly easy to find being right on the corner of a big intersection. Glad I had the chance to dine here!

Patrick L.

Yelp
Jamie. Thank you for following up regarding my recent experience. I spoke with Adam and he is was concerned and following up regarding my comments. I sincerely appreciate his concern and we look forward to returning again.

Stevie W.

Yelp
Great service, really on top of everything you need. Drinks were good, not to strong but not to weak either. I got a Paloma, the waiter warned me it was a sour drink but I thought it was perfect. The food was all so crispy, flavorful and great. We came on a Saturday for lunch and the vibe was great, not to busy or loud. All in all a great spot, would return

Karen E.

Yelp
The best word to describe the food and service is "meh". I won't be back, not even worth a 2nd chance with so many restaurant choices. It's too expensive to pay over $50 for 2 people that only got one app and one dish with beverages. Barely any flavor. I could have made the same dish better at home with top ramen.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Fats never disappoints. We've been here a few times, oh for takeout and dine in. Every time we've dined in, the service has been great. After coming here several times, we've absolutely found our favorites--the garlic green beans, garlic noodles, honey walnut prawns (definitely get this), and the steak kew. The fried rice is also very tasty and the orange chicken is always reliable. The portion sizes are generous--6 dishes amongst 4 people lasts us for two dinners and a lunch. Other honorable mention--the lumpia! Whenever I'm in town and someone suggests Fats, it's an easy yes. Quality food, quick service, and something for everyone. TLDR; come hungry and get the walnut prawns

Katharine S.

Yelp
Fats is like P.F. Chang's, but 10x better. The atmosphere is classy, but it does not seem like anyone is enforcing a dress code. You could come here for business and for a nice date. I came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a family birthday, and we had a lovely evening. I did not understand until we were seated at the table that it's really meant to be "family style." Maybe it's because I came with a five-person family and we sat in a large circular booth with a turntable center: we each got an entrée and dinner plates and bowls and shared them all. The thai seafood fat pot ($22) was my favorite dish, and the others were above average and better than P.F. Chang's. I was so excited to have the banana cream pie for dessert, as I understand it's a Fats classic, and it was delicious. I appreciate that the business has been in the family for multiple generations, and that fact makes me like it better than P.F. Chang's. Our service was attentive, and the parking lot was large enough that we weren't scared that someone would too vigorously open their car door into our Porsche.

Miss M.

Yelp
We ordered the chow, Fun, the dim sum, basket, and the Mongolian beef. It wasnt good-won't be ordering from fats again and it has been our go to For years.

Tom B.

Yelp
What on the surface seems like a corporate type chain establishment is actually family owned with two locations, this one in Roseville and in Folsom. Read the history on their web page. It is very interesting. The place and atmosphere is beautiful, both inside and out. It has a very distinctive look, eclectic, and reminiscent of big LA Chinese restaurants that tend to be more contemporary in design. We were seated immediately and there was a thriving lunch crowd, even late in the lunch hour. Our waitperson was very cordial and professional. Overall service seemed steady and good. We ordered the Chow Fun noodles with chicken and the house special Hong Kong Chow Mein noodles (soft, with seafood, chicken and pork). The Hong Kong noodles had an option for crispy noodles. We shared both dishes. Both menu items were nicely presented and the portions large, especially for lunch. Prices are commensurate with the portions and not bad, although not the prices you'd find at small mom and pop storefront establishments, but you pay for atmosphere and service here. Both noodle dishes were good with fresh ingredients, well prepared, but not outstanding. They tended on the bland scale for taste. It would have been preferable for me to order some spiciness, yet it wasn't offered either. Although satisfying I wouldn't go out of my way to frequent Fat's, although not totally fair until trying other menu choices. The dim sum basket seems interesting enough to return, and a neighboring table had it. It looked good but hard to judge without trying it out. The check came to over $50., a wee bit high for less than an excellent lunch... yet I did take some home. Although I am a bit on the fence I will try it again when in the area.

Yelp
3 stars. Good service. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Very slow. Not busy. Food was so-so. The best part was the rice. The worst part was the price. A bit to expensive for average to below average food. 3 stars sweet and sour pork. Plenty of pork. Sauce was good. This was ok. 3 stars orange chicken. Good amount of food, but was ok. 2.5 stars pork shu mei. Sauces were all good. Pork was a bit dry. Didn't taste fresh. Tasted like it was premade then frozen. 2.5 stars Mongolian beef. Sauce was sweet. Beef was really tough. Didn't like this. 3 stars chicken chow mien. A lot of different toppings with this. Nice flavor. For the price not worth it.

Yelp
We dropped in for a light lunch over the weekend. The interior is nicely laid out with sort of a tropical motif, high ceilings and a classy vibe. Our server was very nice. We ordered the hot and sour soup, and dim sum basket which has shumai and a couple types of dumplings. Splitting the two dishes was plenty for the two of us for lunch. All of the food was good, and we got out of there without breaking the bank. Nice atmosphere, and good food, made for a great afternoon.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday celebration. Was a little bummed the menu was different than Frank Fats downtown. Portions are huge, but it almost felt like a large chain restaurant. The food was fine and it did come out hot and on time despite the place being totally packed. I'll stick to the fancy DT sac location tho...

Yelp
Today's review takes place at one of my oldie but goodie spots.. Fat's Asia Bistro. I've only been to the Roseville location a couple of times as I would frequent the Folsom location years ago. Today I opted for a ginger beer to go. I know an unusual request for a fine dining restaurant but I was in the area and stopped through. The service here is still stellar and special shout-out to Emily, the very gracious bartender who went out her way to provide me with a can of ginger beer along with a cup of ice and even a lime! I along with my tummy thanks her tremendously! Next time I come through it will definitely be for some of their bomb fried rice that I'm obsessed with!

Yelp
So I am not gonna lie I was not impressed. The food was just kinda ....... Meh. The only thing I thought was actually good was the green beans. We got hot n sour soup to start and it was kinda like drinking gravy. Then we got jasmin rice and orange chicken. Can't really go wrong , right? Nope wrong. There was no flavor to anything! Again except the green beans. And the price is just way to much for food that's just not that great. I mean yeah it's edible. But I could spend far less at Panda Express and be satisfied. But on a positive note the staff are friendly and the ambiance is nice. But honestly the food just ruins it for me.

Yelp
Service was average. Food delicious. On weekends you can only order family style, that was disappointing.

Yelp
Never got to eat at the original Fat's in Old Town Sac, but have loved the Roseville Fat's since day one, no exaggeration. Haven't had it in a while but had some the other night and absolutely stuffed myself. I'm on keto diet so it was cheating I'm sure (didn't check the nutrition facts if any are available), but damn it was so worth it. All the chickens and shrimps, a mighty fine taste sensation. Go on, give it a try. You would be remiss to miss.
