Google
First I lucked out with parking in their lot. Their parking lot has about 6 spaces and beyond that you would have to park along Clybourn somewhere. I did 2 char dogs with fries and a soda. The dogs were great but my only gripe was their relish. It’s not Vienna relish but some other weird type. Maybe it’s the bulk restaurant type who knows. The fries were killer, fresh cut and fried to perfection. Their soda machine has some flavors of their brand. I saw Sprite but that was about it in regard to recognizable flavors. I tried Root Beer and it was fine. The person who took my order on Thursday seemed like she didn’t want to be there.

Google
I ordered fries, veggie dog and a root beer. The fries were great, an abundant amount using real potatoes. The Veggie dog in comparison to the best, Portillos, was not good at all. It looks like they made their own version that fell apart and it was breaded. The service was great but I definitely do not recommend the veggie dog. The picture is supposed to be similar to a beef hot dog in looks and taste. Fatso, please re evaluate the veggie dog it is not right!

Google
The burger was delicious. Doesn’t justify the expensive price, especially when you ask for cheese fries and they give you cheddar cheese that’s not even melted. It’s gritty. I’ve never had melted cheese like that in my life , looks like government issued cheese

Google
i wish i could give this place 0 stars. this is the worst place I've ever tried in Chicago. my burger was pink, the cheese for my fries was inedible. it was disgusting i wouldn't even consider it cheese. it was like a paste the mac and cheese was sooo dry. i wish i could just get the money i wasted back. such a shame!

Google
I wouldn't re-order the Italian "monster" combo. Asked for the corners dipped, and the whole bread fell apart. I needed a fork to eat the rest. Italian sausage was undercooked. I ordered a cup of cheese, and I never got it. Plus, charging a dollar for a jus on the side is insane! Sticking to the char dogs and burgers. If I ever step foot in again. Charging $24 for a combo w mozz & hot peppers with just fries is ridiculous. Food was mediocre at best.

Google
Great classic Chicago dog spot outside the city. We ventured over for an authentic dog and Fatso’s did not disappoint! The dog was delicious, the fries homemade and cooked to perfection and the onion rings on point. Spent $11 on a dog, fries, soda and side of cheese sauce. Can’t beat it. Will definitely go back on my next visit.

Google
Fatsos never misses on anything I’ve ordered in all the years I’ve been coming to either location, always worth the extra drive to get good food! Mac and cheese is always top tier and arguably the best in the city. Definitely worth the visit everytime!

Google
They serve boozy milkshakes and regular milkshakes. We had the banana one. It was good. The grilled chicken sandwich was good. It came with fries and a drink for $14.00. I really appreciated the portion sizes. They give you a lot of food. The chili cheese dog is good, but the chili is very chunky. They charge 4% extra when using credit cards. My husband asked for the ooey gooey, and it says on the menu it will take 10 min, but the cook came over and said it would take at least 20 minutes for it to be out. The restaurant was very clean. The music they played was great, it was just too loud. All and all a great place for a quick bite. They do have a free parking lot.

Yelp
Great food with even better pricing! Burgers are always on point with the best fries! Not the mention the shakes. Go to is always a single fatso burger, fries and a banana cream pie shake!!! BEST COMBO EVER! The service is always top tier and their dining area is always so clean and themed. Owners really take the time to make it feel chill and decorated for the season or holiday! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Decent Italian Beef. Great peppers Great fries. Staff is all business and not overly friendly. They are competent...good enough. Very little parking. Dining area is kept clean and organized.

Yelp
If you wanna feel like a Fatso, come to Fatso's! If you're craving some fast food without the fast food feel, come to Fatso's! I've been here a couple times already and they never disappoint. I've gotten the Chicago style hotdog, along with their cheeseburger and both have been great! The burger is nice and juicy and the fries are warm, fresh, and crisp! My daughter gets the chicken tenders here and she loves them. Inside, there is plenty of room to stretch out to eat and enjoy your food. It is a very casual atmosphere, you place your order at the counter and they call up your name/number once your order is ready. Fountain drinks are free refills which is always a plus for me. Their fountain drinks are not your traditional brands like Coke, Pepsi, or Sprite, either. But whatever the brands are, they go great with their food. Oh, and don't forget to order a milkshake!! The service is always fast and friendly - can't wait to go again!
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
They grill their hot dogs instead of boiling them! We got the Chicago and NYC dog and both were tasty. There is kind of a lot going on with the Chicago dog but it feels fresh with the tomatoes and pickle.
google avatar

Eduardo Z.

Yelp
Stopped by and tried the Double Fatsos with Cheese Please... I must say it's one of the best burgers I have tried... this place is a gem in the city ... I will be back to try more items in their menu as well

Karla G.

Yelp
The best place to eat in family.. my kids love the char dogs, burgers, and tenders... my husband loves the Italian beef... but these shrimp are my favorites... I have came here ever since they opened and they have the friendliest staff...
google avatar

Alex P.

Yelp
Great street food. I had a char dog and burger with bacon and fried egg. They also have some good specials / combos you can pick from. Location is kinda difficult to get to but other than lot I enjoyed it.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious Chicago-style hot dog! A must-visit if you're in the Ukranian Village. I ordered the char-dog - grilled on the spot with a flavorful char (hence the name!), set on a poppy seed bun, two tomatoes, hot peppers, relish, onions and a pickle spear! It's the chicago style to include everything. But personally, I would put the pickle and pepper on the side because it'll be heavy on the natural saltiness (because you're already eating a hot dog, and avoid the pickle from overpowering)! The servers were friendly and quick. Use cash, if you can. They also have an ATM near the counter. I love how there's ample outdoor seating in that classic red and primary blue that says Fatso's! Relax on a bench during a warmer day and enjoy the sun. I do wish they had sun umbrellas, so you're not completely out in the elements - but I can't complain. Fun, unique spot!!

Skylar T.

Yelp
One of my new favorite spots in Chicago! The only thing better than the food is the friendly staff and owner!
google avatar

Ari L.

Yelp
Hot dogs are fine. A little pricey in my opinion. I wish they would use bigger franks. $5.75 for a hot dog seems like a little much when you use a skinny frank. Why are we not allowed to give half stars. This is is a perfect place for that half star. Good but not great. 3.5 stars.
google avatar

Poohdy H.

Yelp
This place is expensive and they make you feel like poop because you don't tip. It's over priced for sub-par food. I bought 2 hot dogs and 2 cheeseburgers w/fries and my total was 50.00. It is what it is but this is not a dump or an in-and-out.
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
TL;DR: Solid fast food burger, fries need work, amount of onion rings could improve I got take out for Fatso's and it was good in the sense that it wasn't super greasy, but it still had that fast food taste. Their double cheeseburger is good and has a great cheese melt .. you know when the cheese sticks to the fast food wrapper? That happened here which is a sign to me. They could improve in their fries as I had to add salt to them to make them better and they could have been crisper (I heated them up in the air fryer), but this could be due to the long walk back and not having them right away. The onion rings are good, but they don't give you a lot when you ask for it to go - could be different when you dine in
google avatar

Rob G.

Yelp
I really love Fatso's. It is one of the best burger / hot dog stands in the city. I tried both their cheese burgers and jumbo Chicago style hot dog. Both were cooked to order, fresh and exactly what I would expect. Service was super friendly and helped me pick the right menu items.
google avatar

Mr. Creosote X.

Yelp
Old Man Creosote must be inna good mood or something because I'm rounding up to 4 stars. Yep, a perfectly serviceable char dog. It seemed smaller than I remember it should be, but maybe it's my eyesight. I will take off a fraction of a point for the sport peppers being small ones, a little too much relish, and a dinky pickle spear. Hmm, as I write this I'm re-thinking 4. The fries were nicely cooked and a rather large serving. But mine were just warm while Lunch Buddy's were hot. Hmmm. Ok, it was a large serve. And I got the Merkt's cheese for the fries, but it seemed thinned out a little, not the thick salty version I recall. So, yeah, hmmmm. Private label drinks. No, it didn't taste the same. Hmmmmm. Almost $18 for a dog, fries and drink (including tip). Hmmmmmm. So, if you're walking past it and your stomach is calling out for a dog, stop in. Otherwise, I've got a couple other places to try again.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Food is good. Music blaring I thought I was back down in Mexico City.. for a lunch crowd? To me the prices are outrageous. $32 for 4 dogs with some fries and generic pop is out of line! Don't forget to add some 4% fee I guess for using a credit card? I remember when this exact order was $20 like two years ago and I still thought way too much for friggin' hot dogs!! Again, food is good but bring your wallet// talk later

Yelp
First time trying fatso's and man was it amazing and fire wish I had tried sooner the fries were really good fresh cut fries not that frozen fries can't wait to try eveything little by little highly recommend coming or ordering to go that's what I did and food came hot and fresh so if you looking for good burger come try fatsos you will not be disappointed
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Not a Michelin restaurant but dang good fast casual. Fatso double with cheese please, 2 char dogs and a beef dip. The beef dip was better than the famed Al's for sure. Killer fries. Clean restrooms. Staff has pride. Come here and eat if you're in town and venturing out of the heart of downtown.
google avatar

Bando T.

Yelp
Great service and good food with a smile I got the char dog but I recommend you come check them out yourselves
google avatar

Janine H.

Yelp
Everything is made fresh to order. Best fries hands down. Affordable Chicago style food!
google avatar

Kathy J.

Yelp
Delicious, enormous smash burgers and home made fries. The burgers have shredded lettuce and a sauce that reminds me of a Big Mac.
google avatar

Yelp
It's okay nothing special. Typical hot dog/burger spot. Wouldn't go back really. Not that good.

Yelp
Decided to stop by Fatso's Last Stand for dinner after hearing many raves about their charbroiled burger. Ordered the Everyday Special: Double Fatso's with cheese, hand-cut fries, and soda along with a 1/4 lb jumbo fried shrimp. The burger itself was delicious, packed with smokey, char-grilled flavor, and slathered in Fatso's sauce. As for the jumbo shrimp, the batter was thick, giving a crispy texture. Fatso's Last Stand could have received five stars. However, the cashier who took the order could have been more polite. While trying to tap my card to pay, the cashier snatched the card out of my hand to insert the card into the card reader. It would have been greatly appreciated if she told me to use the card reader instead. Overall, Fatso's Last Stand was clean and the dining area is spacious with seating available for dine-in. I would order from Fatso's Last Stand but at a different location.
google avatar

Karim B.

Yelp
Been here a couple times, easy location off Clybourn and food is decent. But that's about it. Menu is overpriced and the fact that every order comes standard with an insane amount of fries (cannot be ordered a la carte) is annoying. Throw in a 4% fee for credit cards, generic soda and an atrocious parking situation and I can't recommend this place.
google avatar

Cynthia H.

Yelp
I went to this Fatso location to try a Char Dog and fries. To my surprise the fries were soggy and so was the hot dog.  Upon leaving I decided to tell the cashier that I was sorely disappointed because of this. Instead of taking the feedback as help and considering something could be wrong with the fryer or the machine, he yelled at me and says "You didn't like the price." When he said that I thought, What does that have to do with my piece of feedback? As a Yelp Elite Reviewer, my intention is to provide feedback through my reviews not only for the benefit of my fellow foodies but also to the owners/establishments. There have been several times where restaurant owners will write to me and thank me because they simple weren't aware of issues that I raised through my reviews or in person feedback. They have appreciated my feedback and have aimed to make it right or get better at their service. When I reiterated to the cashier, who happened to be the owner, that I'm merely trying to help to bring awareness of the situation, all he said was he wanted to refund my meal. I told him it wasn't necessary but he insisted. My order came to $9.58. I ordered the Char Dog with fries which is $5.50 per the menu. I also ordered a soda so at the time of purchased I had wondered out loud how could the order double in price and asked him. I thought that was a common sense approach to ask the breakdown. It turns out the cashier added a 50 cents surcharge because of supply and the soda was $2.50. So, if you decide to go beware the fries and the Char Dog will come out soggy as the owner said the watches the cooks and they do everything right.

Yelp
Meal was overall disgusting and a waste of money. I ordered the ooey gooey cheese burger and the one I received was burnt, messy, and gross... pretty much inedible. The Mac n cheese is also disgusting the cheese to noodle ratio was overwhelmingly thick of room temp cheese. I also ordered the cheese tots expecting cheese sauce but it was really like fried tater tot hush puppies with a little bit of grated cheddar cheese... wasn't what I was expecting. Don't think I'd order from here again
google avatar

Pilar G.

Yelp
First time at this location yesterday and I was not disappointed! Free parking, friendly staff, and fast food! There was plenty of seating and the ambiance inside was busy but not too crowded or loud. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of vegetarian options here. I ended up getting the impossible burger but there was also a homemade veggie char dog and of course the Mac and cheese. Definitely will be back here.

Yelp
THE BEST HOTDOG I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. The inside is clean and service is friendly. CHRIS is the man and appreciate his recommendation's
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
Really good, no frills type of fast food! Went with my girlfriend and brother - we got a chili char dog with fries, regular char dog with fries, single fatso burger, and Italian beef. Everything was so good! Never had a chili char dog and it did not disappoint. The burger was exceptional and their sauce reminded me of the Big Mac sauce (which is good!) The fries were good - nothing crazy but thoroughly enjoyed them. Prices were reasonable - I think between $6-12 an item/combo depending on what you order. We will have to try their shakes next time and maybe a different sandwich! They also have boozy shakes which would be fun to try. Honestly can't go wrong with their burgers or hot dog options. The Italian beef was good but I've had better too. If you're in the area and want a quick burger or hot dog, definitely recommend popping by! There's a small parking lot otherwise plenty of street parking.
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
Decent food, but far overpriced for what it's worth. You can probably find a much better deal somewhere else for a dry, overcooked cheeseburger and 10 pounds of fries. Maybe the $7 shake will appeal to you.
google avatar

Tim O.

Yelp
Fatsos is exactly as advertised and more. A wide variety of well done Chicago street food; burgers, dogs, polish, Italian beef, etc. Not to mention their "boozy milkshakes" which I recommend. Full disclosure, I'm a regular. The manager Chris runs a tight ship and the employees are very friendly. Make sure to queue from the right. Leave a tip and they will ring the gong in recognition. I'm still laughing at a previous review where someone complained that a burger branded "Ooey Goey" was "too messy" for them. Darling, it's in the name.
google avatar

Mr. Tender Chicken ..

Yelp
The service was great. The tenders didn't take too long and they seemed like they were constantly taking orders. The price, for the amount you get, was GREAT! The tenders themselves, however, was nothing fantastic at all. They tasted almost identical to your typical fast food mom-and-pop restaurant that hosts a Vienna sausage neon light sign. The breading was well through out the tenders and it didn't have much of a taste. The quantity was quite good nonetheless and the French fries were also in a good amount. The fries themselves, however, weren't above par. I'd say they were right on par and taste just like the ones you get from Five Guys. If you're not into tenders I'd definitely try the rest of the menu; which looks like they have a lot to choose from.
google avatar

Lin B.

Yelp
Omg! Their shakes were soooo delicious! Their burger was messy but fantastic! I took the Chicago dog to-go, ate it the next day in Arizona and it was sooo good. We are happy we tried this place. My bf ordered the Italian beef sandwich dipped and enjoyed it which he brought back to Arizona as well. He ordered the ooey gooey burger but thought it was "too much" for him but he did eat most of it. Definitely worth a try.

Mark T.

Yelp
I can't give a review of the food because they never took my order. I walked in and the guys behind the counter were busy making food. I was the only person waiting. About 10 minutes passes and someone else walks in and they ask him what he wants like I am invisible. Will never go back there. Plenty of places to spend my money.
google avatar

Jerry K.

Yelp
After two lunch attempts here - I'm just not a fan. Overall, food quality (relative to other burger, hot dog, beef stands) is just not that great and the prices are steep for what you get. Their fries are the best part of the meal I've had both times but way too big of a portion and price is reflective of this. Chicken sandwich I had today was just not good. Way too much bread relative to a very small and thin piece of chicken breast. Previously had the beef sandwich which was just okay - didn't have a lot of the good flavors you would expect from a classic Chicago Italian Beef. What really disturbed me today is that they advertise one price up on the board - and after you pay - they slip in an extra charge for paying with credit card with no warning. As if spending over $16 for a subpar chicken sandwich and fries wasn't bad enough. :-(
google avatar

Christopher V.

Yelp
I too prefer the original location on Chicago Ave, but this one isn't bad. Fatso's still makes the best Chicago Dog's in the city. The shrimp are really good too, but don't travel well with delivery. I suggest eating ASAP. Some people rave about their burgers, but they're just ok. Same can be said about the shakes. Stick to the hotdogs (the veggie dog isn't bad either), polishes & shrimp and you'll enjoy your meal.
google avatar

Bart S.

Yelp
I was driving by- it was lunch time, and bang, zoom I went in. Service was fast and made to order. I had a char dog and fries. The Dog with everything was what you come to expect from good hot dog places in Chicago, this place has that going for it. Plus fresh cut fries, cooked while the dog is charred up. Perfect. The have parking, good prices, and to drink. Cheerwine. This is a new location with parking, great people working there, and everything you'd expect from a place like this and more- Plenty of nice seats to sit and eat your grub too.
google avatar

Dan C.

Yelp
What a great spot! We came here at the recommendation of a friend who loves this place. Apparently, this is a new location for Fatso's Last Stand and this location used to be a gas station. We ordered right away at the counter, found a seat, and waiting for our food. We both ordered burgers and some shrimp, and the lady at the register was very friendly! There wasn't a ton of seating, but we were able to find a seat without a problem. When our order was called, we picked it up at the counter. The fries were good, and fresh. The burgers were really good! I thought I read that the burger bun was supposed to be toasted, but it didn't seem that mine had been toasted at all. I really enjoyed the sauce on the burger. The burger, fries, and shrimp were very tasty and we enjoyed our meal. I would definitely consider coming to Fatso's Last Stand again if I was in Chicago. It's the kind of food that tastes even better after a couple beers.

Smart C.

Yelp
Perfectly serviceable interior. Overhead fans were a bit annoying, maybe on too fast. PLEASE put up a sign indicating how to enter the ordering line! No-frills dining area. We figured we'd start with basics; Char-Dogs, Fries, and Fried Shrimp. Dogs were okay. I'd like more char, less mustard, and only 2-3 sport peppers per dog. My bun collapsed from the wetness of mustard, relish, tons of onion and half a dozen sport peppers. Now that I know what their prep is, I'll be sure to ask for some modifications. Fries were fries, pretty yummy. FIVE STARS on the fried shrimp! Half a pound, fried PERFECTLY. Shrimp were juicy, hot and not overcooked. The shrimp sauce was pretty good, too. They're better than Red Hot Ranch fried shrimp, at least on this visit! Next visit will move on to burgers and Polish.
google avatar

Todd K.

Yelp
I do not understand this restaurant. The music is so load that the person taking my order and I both kept saying, what did you say" during the entire transaction. When I asked if they thought it was loud, she said, yes very. The fries were soggy, and not good at all. The char dogs are okay, but way more onions than need be.
google avatar

Yelp
Super Disappointed, with Fatso's... I try to have compassion for the food industry during covid. However, the outrageous prices for this food should be considered extortion! STAFF- Don't do anything beyond take orders, which is totally fine. Nothing really stood out, not rude but not overly friendly. CLEANLINESS- Good, Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. FOOD-Bland, my burger was overly priced for a frozen patty that this establishment purchases from the Restaurant Depot. Burger was not fresh, no seasoning, and the buns were just way too thick. The fries were the only thing I enjoyed. PRICE-A JOKE! I ordered the following; 1 burger with cheddar cheese, 1 plant based burger, 1 fries, & two small fountain drinks, that came out to $29.97!!! I asked the cashier twice, if I misheard him... sadly, this was the reality of an over-priced & arrogant restuarant. OVERALL SUMMARY- I am just scratching my head, at what they base their prices & quality of food on... Food industry is still suffering, this establishment should take their food & customer feedback more seriously. Otherwise, just shut it down, and allow a more passionate Foodie entrepreneur to open up a restuarant here. Shame on you Fatso! Don't forget to tip!

Eric B.

Yelp
Horrible Customer Service. Black Lives Matter. Apparently not at Fatso's. 2 of us order. The cashier may have been new and needed assistance. ANOTHER associate came to help her. Only have the order was registered. Brought this to the the associates attention. Neither associate we're accountable and told us we "need" to just get back in line and order again. All of the FATSO's associates felt their service was satisfactory and acceptable. I felt very uncomfortable, rejected, and I was even instructed to move out of the way to make room for other customers. I would recommend an immediate boycott of this location until they realize we all should be treated equally.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
May not be the healthiest choice, but sometimes I just crave a good greasy burger and fries! Fatso's is that place for you. Ive ordered the hot dog and burger (separate occasions!) And both were pretty good and satisfied my greasy fast food craving! The fries were tasty and extra crispy! Everything here that I've ordered has not been disappointing. Great prices with a good portion. Plus side is that they have parking for those who want to drive over to pick up their order !
google avatar

Joel C.

Yelp
Loved this place! it is a no-thrills, industrial style building with a few tables, an opportunity to have alcoholic milkshakes, and some really bad ass food. do me a favor, don't try to alter any of the creations. Have them as they are intended. You will not be sorry. I don't expect to find any low-calorie options here. Just bring an empty stomach, $15-$20, and an appreciation for the almighty chicago dog. their burgers are also top-notch for the price point.

Jay J.

Yelp
Food was cold by the time I got it. It looked good just didn't taste good cold or reheated.
google avatar

Meli S.

Yelp
This was the first time that we walked into Fatso's... and I am so happy that we did! The Fatso burgers were amazing!!! OMG... I haven't had a burger like this ever!!! The only thing I had an issue with was the cheese that they use for their cheese fries... the cup we got it in was more oily cheese than cheese sauce. Just know that I don't need the cheese for their amazing fries! LOL!! Cannot wait to take the daughter here to see her smash a burger... she is going to go nuts!
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
The ooey gooey is amazing. However, when they advertise that the fries are 1lb, they should be close. I go back and ask the cashier 'is this really a lb of fries?' To which the cashier responds 'whatever fits in the bag is a pound. She may have been right but the bag was only half full. And sure enough, I weighed them on a postal scale. 7.9 oz. Sure, Covids is making us lean up but then you should charge half price for half a lb of fries. Also, beware if you get a credit for a mistake made on a past order you have to redeem within a week. If I could stand to eat fatso's twice in a week I would be dead by now. But the ooey gooey is solid.
google avatar

Ted K.

Yelp
Fatso's Last Stand has the best kale smoothie in Chicago! Haha JK those suck, and Fatso's has good food. And some is even great. Great milkshakes. Great fries. Great mac & cheese. If you eat at Fatso's and don't get one of these three items, it's time to take a hard look at your life and do some soul-searching. The Italian sausage & fries combo for $6.00 is also great. I'm not just throwing that word around. Taste, texture, bread, giardiniera, red peppers. I paused a few times so it would last longer. Second visit was a good idea because I thought it was over-priced on my first visit--but I was just being a pig. This trip was under $20, and I have some left over for a snack tomorrow. Shakes are as good as Oberweis. Worth the brief agony of brain freeze. The mac & cheese has made it to my "always order" list. Very cheesy, not watery, spiral pasta was al dente, and the toasted breadcrumbs were seasoned well. I'll need to get them again to analyze the crumbs... I ate that layer pretty quickly. Fries are pretty close to Red Hot Ranch fries. They have about a dozen cases of potatoes in a locker. Alcohol is served in specialty drinks but I've not tried them. I had the Ooey Gooey cheeseburger last time and that was good. Fatso Sauce seems to be 1000 island dressing. aka Russian dressing. Parking is fine. Their tiny lot is just one of many spots. This site used to be a dual- branded Dunkin D and Baskin-Robbins. Service has been stellar both visits. I am slipping into a food coma now. Portion control isn't a law -- nobody tells me how to live! Fatsoooo's
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
Single fatso with cheese is one of the best burgers im the city! Yum. Got a side of cheese with the potato skin fries that I was not a fan of. Prefer the nacho style. Otherwise they have parking and a bathroom. Great little lunch spot.

Not the greatest burger in Chicago and took a bit of time. Got a cheeseburger and fries for about 15ish. Took about 8-12 mins for the food. Nice place and decor inside. Juicy burger but not worth
