Fatso's Pizza

Followed my fellow Reviewers to Fatso Pizza. Their high rating wasn't wrong. An afternoon visit found an active happy hour in the bar with plenty of tables open in the dining room. Fast and friendly service started us off with cold beverages and Buffalo Wings. The Fatso Amber, brewed by Lumberyard in Flagstaff, was welcome in 100+ degree day. Buffalo Wings were crispy and very saucy (in a good way). We added a Pan Crust Spinach Pie. Fresh veggies, delicious sauce and melted cheese on top of a perfect crunchy crust made this meal special. More Ranch Dressing please!

Great pizza and Fatso’s Sausage sandwich!! The salad was an ice addition as well!! I want to try wings next time as well!! Lots of options on their menu and I have a feeling they are all pretty good based on what I’ve had so far!!

The atmosphere screams dive bar, but don't let that fool you. The folks here are nice and the pizza is a solid B+ given my ridiculously high standards for pizza. One of the best cracker thin crust pizza experiences in the valley to be sure, if not the best. Especially given the relatively low price compared to other pizza joints. This is probably going to be our new favorite pizza place. Kicking myself for not getting some wings but there will be a next time really soon, but the fact you can get a basket of fresh veggies is a nice touch. Honestly the only thing that would make this place better would be a Galaga machine in the corner.

First time in. Service was attentive.. pizza was real delicious we got the thin crust... Like an Ohio style cracker crust square slice ... So good ... Beer was cold.. what else else could you ask for we will be back for sure 😊 plus grateful dead posters in the wall so bonus 😀

Ordered 4 pizzas at 7:30 had them made and ready by 7:50. The kids played pool and bags while we waited and didn’t even get to finish their games they were so quick. The pizzas are delicious and made with all fresh quality ingredient. the price point is absolutely unbeatable!!!

A livable dive bar feel, but we'll worth the trip. The wings are great, and the pizza is just as good, and a great selection of beers on tap.

NOT GOOD. We came here due to the reviews and are left very disappointed. The pizza was akin to a microwaveable from the frozen food section. To top it off, the pizza was 19.75, but the total came out to 24 and some change. That’s over 20% tax! This is insane! This was our first time buying carry out here, and will be our last. I repeat: NOT GOOD!

Decided to give this place a try, The atmosphere is warm and friendly, with a nice sized bar and plenty of tables. The pizza was yummy, crust was thin and crispy, just the way I like it. The sauce was perfect. The pizza had plenty of toppings. I really enjoyed everything. Can't wait to try more!

The service was attentive and the food was tasty. The beer was delicious and we'll be back to try more of their offerings.

A coworker recommended Fatso's. We are from the Midwest and pizza is a touchy subject. We love thin crispy crust cut in squares. The pizza at fatso's checked all the boxes for us. The crust was crisp not hard to chew. The sauce was tasty not full of sugar. The toppings were also good, cheese wasn't greasy. The mots sticks were good, standard . My beer was perfect, not too cold. The server was very nice. I do t remember her name but a really nice lady. The bar had people sitting watch some game. They seamed to be having a good time. If we lived closer we would definitely watch a game at the bar. The whole vibe game Midwest bar which we enjoyed. We'll be back.

I tried Fatso's randomly when I found it on Yelp. The place was poppin! A lot of people at the bar, which may be the secret to their food. The food was not good. Everything fried had the same taste, and the pizza didnt taste like a pizza. I dont know how to describe it, but mayb a few beers would have helped! Inside was a little packed and narrow, and also pretty dark. They need to add a lil light inside! Staff seemed like they were upset to be at work, so Fatso's seemed very transactional. Which is okay, I just like to see poeple smile sometimes. Fatso's to me was a one-and-done kinda place.

This is a spot sure! Great beer list, wings and pizza nothing wrong with any of that. Old school bar with great service. Went in looking to try a new pizza and really enjoyed it. Owner came over and chatted us up, love that about a place. Pizza is tavern cut, if you Chicago tavern style purist it is not cornmeal crust, but still good. The Big Johnson was great, fresh garlic thumbs up! Try it and enjoy!

A generous 1. Went up here to just try something new. We had very low expectations and they found a way to come in lower. That was the worst pizza ever, it was out of jar sauce, very cheap cheese, ghetto crust. It was like a child made me microwave frozen pizza. But the worst part of the place isn't even the food. It's the hideous bar flies that we're talking openly about strippers and prostitutes. Total dive bar, with food. Oof this place was pretty terrible.

Hadn't tried this place before because my husband said it wasn't good, come to find out he hadn't been in like 20+ years so he had no idea haha. We ordered pickup and it was ready on 20 minutes! My husband said it was packed there and they had live music, but our order was ready on time! We got one thin crust cheese and one thick/pan crust cheese because we couldn't decide! It was a good idea because both were yummy! Wasn't like the best pizza ever but still really good for what it is, and I would definitely order from here again!

This is a great family restaurant. The kind of place where everyone is welcome. We were lucky enough to come on an evening with live music. We split some wings, a cheese pizza and a cookie for dessert. Everything tasted as it should. Our server was very attentive always refilling our beverages. This is a no frills place that makes sure to serve good food and have good service.

Food was still pretty good. The white pizza with hamburger could have used extra hamburger. The salad was very big and had good ingredients, but only two dressing choices.

I have ordered pizzas and wings to go a few times from Fatso's. The pies are delicious with a perfect crispy crust and fresh toppings. The wings are good and meaty pieces. We have never eaten in but the food is always ready when they say it will be.

Old-school, low-key bar/restaurant with a cozy, welcoming vibe. Very family friendly. The service here is always top-notch--Greg, the bartender, is always prompt, attentive, and makes sure you're well taken care of. The tap selection is solid, with a great mix of craft beers and familiar domestics, so there's something for everyone. The sandwiches are delicious, simple & fresh, and made just right. They also have ample TVs with the sports du jour if that's your thing. Sound is usually on for local games when it's important.

Best pizza in town hands down! If we lived closer we would be here once a week no questions asked!! Family owned which we love the vibe is soo old school in the best way possible.

Perfect neighborhood joint, reminds me of the pizza spot in my Midwest hometown. Staff is super. They have Black Butte Porter which is one of my favorites! I always order pizza extra crispy cuz otherwise sometimes the center is a little soggy.

My husband likes this pizza but the dough to me seems overworked and like cardboard, especially for the price. Also I think they're short staffed (naming vs poor service) as everything just took a really long time. Friendly atmosphere tho.

Possibly the worst pizza and calzone I've ever had - so greasy and runny, cardboard crust, no flavor other than cheese. Got there an hour before closing at 8 pm and felt rushed to order. The restaurant was being cleaned by really young kids (like elementary and middle school age) all around us during our meal, and they were also delivering our food - so young there is no way they have a food handlers permit. Not to mention the two youngsters literally hanging out in the bar well with the older gentleman bartender when there were customers all around it drinking - pretty certain that is illegal. My partner and I both felt sick from how greasy the food was and within an hour of coming home I did indeed become ill. The whole restaurant smells like disinfectant trying to cover up old beer and grease. We almost turned around and left upon entering, and I wish we had. I hate to leave such a bad review for a small local business, but it is justified. Get your young children out from behind the bar - WTF?

We returned to Fatso's last evening. The food was great, service was should be expected. The music was playing on the patio. Thanks, Katie for reaching out and having us try your restaurant again. We shall return!

Old school place with old school vibe. Love it the service is perfect. Yeah ambience is your normal old-school bar ambience the food was very delicious. Once again service was on point the owner. Make sure you had everything. Make sure you always had refills and all of that and make sure the food is good looked after like an old school bar restaurant place.

This is a little neighborhood gem that was establishing 1993, I love their little story. Joe, the owner was so nice and came by to introduced his self, love that. Taylor was absolutely amazing, so smart, friendly with big beautiful eyes, I can't believe how she could keep track of not just our party that was quite large, her section was very big. We enjoyed our pizza although the crust could've been more crisp. A fun Neighborhood place where the people are friendly. I WOULD RECOMMEND.

I come here all the time, it's right next to where I used to live, so it was a nice treat at the end of evening walks. Their commitment to live music is very nice (there's always a live musician there whenever I'm around), and the food is great. I really recommend the medium buffalo wings! The wait staff typically have a kind demeanor, and they really do a great job of making you feel welcome. That said, my ears are a little sensitive, and the live music can be a bit loud. Definitely a great choice for lunch/dinner, but if you have sensory issues, I'd recommend bringing some ear protection. 9/10, recommend

Very cool spot. Good variety on menu, pizza is the specialty. They also make decent iced tea, which is a big deal in my book. Good local following, lots of live music. Will be back and do a more extensive review that time around.

On a recent Sunday evening my wife and I tried Fatso's. Several friends have been telling me how great it is, but we live in Tempe and it's quite a drive. We were not disappointed. We ordered Pepperoni, mushroom and green chilis on a thin crust by friend's recommendation. The pizza was wonderful! Plenty of rich tasty sauce, generous coverage of toppings and a liberal blanket of cheese, just the way I like it. We also ordered side salads that were nice too. Crispy fresh lettuce, some tomato and other things and cheese too! Service couldn't have been better. We ordered enough to take some home, but given the drive, maybe should have got another one to go. We're looking forward to a return trip.

Tried this place on Sunday night. Not too busy but several games on TV had a dozen or so people at tables. I had the pizza deluxe and wings. Bothe were average with the pizza on the bottom side of that scale. What bothered me most was when you picked up a slice, there was liquid under the slice. The pizza had little flavor from the sauce, toppings or cheese. Way to noisy from the TV volume

I went to Fatso's for Father's day lunch. Since we moved to Phoenix some twenty years ago... This has been my go-to pizza Place. . It did not disappoint me today!the sausage they use is the most flavorful I have ever had! The service was excellent and we had a wonderful time! We will be back here again and again!

I Love Love Love pizza!!! I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, every day of the week -- that's how much I love pizza. Did I say "I love pizza??" There are plenty of pizza joints in towns and cities, probably because some think it's an easy way to make a buck. Of course anyone can make some money churning out pizzas but Fatso's pizza is different. We were on a road trip through Phoenix and were hankering for a pizza, so after consulting Yelp as we always do, we chose Fatso's. Due to Covid, we phone-ordered a thin crust pizza to go. When we picked the pizza up, we took it back to our campsite where we savored each bite. The crust was thin and crispy as promised and the toppings were fresh and delicious. It was such a treat. This place is the real deal. There is a bar area and open-mike nights which makes it a hopping place when Covid restrictions go away. Thank you Fatso's

Our first and only visit to Fatso's was not very good. The waitress a young lady with dark hair and facial piercing did a poor job of waitressing. She walked by us 4 times before she asked us if we wanted more ice tea. She was clearing a table next to us for a party and ignoring the empty glasses she continued cleaning. She finally acknowledged the glasses and asked if we wanted more ice tea. She went on to help others and we got up to pay our bill she finally had the ice tea. No tip for her as T--to, I -- insure, P -- proper, S--service. The pizza was overcooked and the ambiance is more bar than restaurant and this is a Sunday afternoon football games on TV'S and loud musician outside front door with people halfway blocking the entrance. I'm not a prude but this was not a good experience

Thin crust pizza was amazing. Had a IS, M & O. Drinks & service really good too. Highly recommend them & will definitely go back : )

Food is super delicious. Love their pizza and wings. My favorite appetizer is the potato skins.

This pizza isn't bad, order directly from them. They deliver, do not use uber eats. The uber eats guy left my pizza outside on the ground. I called the restaurant and they couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't through them. Sometimes I am a vegan and they make a really good vegan pizza.

Pizza here is fantastic! Mine and my wife's favorite. I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else because it is thst good!

We love Fatso's! Hands down some of the best pizza we've had anywhere. Our favorite time to go is when they feature the finest array of Valley musicians on Friday and Saturday nights including local blues legend Hans Olson and our favorite, Eric Ramsey. We've been there when it's packed and still received prompt service and hot tasty pizza. Don't be put off by the nay sayers who have had one off less that great experiences. These guys do an excellent job and if you don't check them out you're missing out.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, they have live music-like an open mike night. Very cool. Servers seem nice, the restaurant is clean and inviting. We ordered wings and a couple of sandwiches. Wings were delicious, one of the sandwiches was yummy. The bummer? The meatball sub. Tender, fresh, yes! Bland? Yes. No oregano, garlic, onion, salt, pepper...etcetera was discernable. And no, I don't have COVID Going back for the wings, gonna have to try the pizza

We could not be more disappointed. A few months ago we had a thin crust pizza from here. It was ok, the crust is...... let's say different. Tonight we decided to have a cheat meal and go back to fatsos. Well that was a big mistake. Fist we arrived at 6pm seated and served drinks right away. So finally around 630 we got to order food. While 3 other tables got seated and orders taken before us. We finally ordered, 45 mins later I had to start asking wtf. I told them to put it In a box. I just wanted to go home at this point. We get home with the pies and God damnit!!!! there pan pizza is the worst thing I've ever seen. It's like 2 inches thick of uncooked dough both fing pizzas are raw!!!! We had some veggies, 2 beers, 2 sodas and 2 pan pizzas it was like 80 bucks we had to throw the pizza away and call it a night. You should market this pizza as diet food!!!!

Picked up from here for the first time when I needed several large pizzas for a group. Service was great and ready right when I asked for it. The 20" pizzas are really large! Had pepperoni and everyone enjoyed it. Would definitely go back!

Pizza was quite good. the mozzarella sticks were most definitely frozen and may of been a bit freezer burnt but the marinara sauce made up for it. The server/hostess may not of had the best personality and may of lacked a bit of professionalism but were quick and attentive. If you're in the mood for a good pizza and within 15 minutes I'd recommend this place.

I recently ordered $56 dollars worth of food there and when it got delivered it was nothing that I ordered. I refused delivery with the driver and immediately called the restaurant to explain my dilemma. Needless to say the restaurant was absolutely zero help to me and refused to try to make the situation right. I contacted the driver once again and then immediately disputed the charge with my bank who was no help either. To sum it all up Fatsos took $56 dollars from me, gave me nothing in return and Desert Financial allowed it. SAD.

Came here on a whim and walked in to dine in. That was probably not the right decision. After looking confused whether it was a seat yourself or be seated situation a nice young man directed us. We sat down and waited a few for a server who was nice but fairly quiet. Order all our food at once. The potato skins were quite small (smaller than big name brands). A food runner brought our pizza and was not very personable. Didn't interact with us even after she brought us Parmesan. The server never followed up on our food till someone else brought us a box. We also never got refills on our drinks. It was fairly quiet for a Friday night. TO BE CLEAR the pizza was really good. But don't dine in. Just get it to go.

Poor experience all around. They will tell you ETA for order =25 minutes, when you get there they will keep you on the warmer for about 35 minutes until they finally figure out how to get your food to you. When you call to talk to the manager "Greg", who is in severe need of phone etiquette and attitude adjustment instruction, will tell you it is no big deal and happens all the time. Period. Then when you give them a second chance in a month, you will pull up to a place with no masks on anyone, including the server who shows up with your order partially fulfilled. Then when you call to talk to a manager, he will say too bad. Period. Save yourself the grief, don't go here. No food is worth these people and their commitment to provide you with ceaseless disappointment, and that's not even mentioning their seeming desire to give you Covid for free, along with apparently the leftovers they profess to be selling on their pizza boxes.

Not that great it was something new. Wings ok but not great. The service was ok. However never ate inside. The ambiance unknown.

Great service. Really good food. Pizzas looked amazing but we had sandwiches for lunch. "The Works" with everything was great and so was "The Gus." Nice beer list, fun vibe, and reasonably priced. We'll go back for pizza next time.

Terrible attitudes and lazy. Didn't even get to order a pizza. Worst device in Arizona. Bad attitudes and worse service!! Stay away!!

Ended up on the north side of town with some time to kill before a meeting and found Fatso's was real close to try for dinner. They were not to crowded and we got choice of seats so we sat in bar section so we could watch TV. Service was very quick and we had our drinks fast. I decided to try the combo appetizer basket to get a little taste of their main appetizers. The wings, potato skins and mozzarella sticks were good but the Jalopeno poppers had a musty freezer burn taste. The basket did come out quick and we had time to enjoy the appetizers before our pizza came out. I ordered the killer combo pizza which had pepperoni, sausage, onion and green peppers. It was on a thin crust which is a plus in my book. The taste was okay even with crushed red peppers and parmesan cheese the taste was a little flat. Overall the visit was okay but not that great.

They are so different from everyone else. How many different pizza places have you tried because of the inconsistency of the pie or the delivery? If you are like me when you find the great pie you want that same pie the next time and the next time and the next time. Fatsos has been that place so order and enjoy
