Fatty Daddy's Ice Cream

Loved how their milkshakes take a long time to melt! When I got mine, it was hard to suck. I was about close to 25 minutes away from home. It was still cold and finally started to melt. I was impressed and I ordered Lavender Vanilla! I encourage y’all try it!

What a fun place! They use a torch to caramelize the marshmallow right in front of you, which I thought was a great experience! Everything there is homemade and you can tell by the flavor. The waffle cone was the best I ever had and so was the marshmallow. I don't think I have ever had a homemade marshmallow before so it was a true delight!

No photo of the ice cream because I devoured it! Got the butter pecan Classic ice cream shop in downtown. Huge portions (a kids is a single scoop, a single is a double, etc). Not a ton of options but they have the classics. The girl behind the counter was very nice. My friends got boba and weren’t crazy about it but I liked the ice cream!

The ice cream is delicious!! 😋 The milk teas and matchs left something to be desired, they mostly just taste like milk 😕 but GO for the Ice Cream! 😉😁

He and my daughter stop by after hot day walking around downtown phoenix. Ice cream is rich and creamy.We had a fruity pebbles ice cream cone . My daughter dropped her ice cream cone.The owner saw it and when head a given her another one for free. No questions . Highly recommend fatty daddy's ice cream.

Stopped in here to grab a scoop of ice cream after leaving First Friday last week. Cute little place with lots of flavors/toppings and some unique offerings. I just ordered a waffle cone with caramel pecan ice cream. The lady working either forgot or didn’t hear me say I wanted a cone so it came in a cup. I knew they were getting ready to close so I just said it was fine and started to eat my ice cream. She then came back to hand me a cone while I was sitting down. While it was a nice gesture it was awkward because then I attempted to scoop the ice cream into my cone at the table and it made a mess. Not sure that I would make a trip to go back there but if I did for some reason I would try something else altogether or another flavor.

About 16 different flavors and they do let you try them. Got the coconut and it was really good. The lounge are is quaint and decorated nicely.

Tried butter pecan ice cream with toasted marshmallow. Taste is decent and never tried with marshmallow ever before on an ice cream. Interesting combo. Lady was nice and offered sample when asked. Simple and cute ambience. But parking is an issue. And very pricey for what’s offered. Just a scoop of ice cream with one topping costed almost $10

This place was ok. I think my biggest complaint is the price. It was $5.95 for a baby scoop of ice cream. The ice cream was, ok but I don't think it was worth the price. I had the fruity pebbles flavor and it wasn't bad, but again not worth the price. The person working was fine, and let me sample some flavors. The inside is cute, and they also offer boba tea and a some interesting looking waffle cones add ons. I'm not sure I would come back here for ice cream, maybe for boba?

First time coming to Fatty Daddy's I ordered the Coconut Ice Cream And my friend ordered the Lavender Vanilla, it was rich, creamy and tasty. We arrived at 730pm and there was no line. The set up is small and minimal. Wish they had more toppings to choose from And more flavors of ice cream. A good sorbet would have been moc

HONG KONG EGG WAFFLE SERVED HERE!!!!!! Did someone say Ice Cream Social? Impression- First time trying this place out. Light rain outside is the best time to come here. Cold ice cream with a hot latte sounds good to me. They close late at 9:30 pm. Hot Latte- Good mild coffee. Possibly Costa Rica, Guatemala, or Honduras origin. Choice of sugar syrup or sugar packet. Lavender Vanilla Ice Cream- It's really good. Made in-house. I tried a sample of Banana P.B. Chip is going to be my new favorite option here. Hong Kong Egg Waffle- Why get a waffle cone or waffle bowl when you can make an egg waffle ice cream sandwich in a cup? I don't have to go far to have this treat!! Great job! Friendly young woman very helpful. I love how close this place is to many choices to eat at Row Row. You can't miss this place!!!

We wanted some dessert after dinner and this spot was within walking distance. It's on Roosevelt near a park and it's a nice area. I've been to the Scottsdale location though it's been years so it was nice to come back. My companion ordered a kids scoop of coffee ice cream, and I also got the coffee ice cream and vegan chocolate in a waffle bowl. The gal helping out at the register was friendly and helpful. The coffee ice cream was okay and the vegan chocolate had a coconut flavor, which the employee advised me about. It was fine but neither flavor really stood out to me. The waffle bowl was good, and they make homemade marshmallows which I love but I have to check what kind of gelatin they use so I didn't try it. It was pretty pricey for ice cream but I'm glad we tried it.

This place is adorable! I stumbled upon this place after yoga on a hot Arizona day (117 degrees out) and the owner was so sweet. She helped with many recommendations, answered all questions, and allowed me to sample until I made a decision. There were so many delicious options. Right now they have a Lavender vanilla flavor and she is HEAVENLY. I got the egg waffle and 2 flavors and it was good. The egg waffle comes out fresh and warm (you have to wait about 10 mins for it) so my only concern was that the waffle was melting my ice cream so I had to eat it quick. It also seemed like the waffle could've cooked a little longer cause the inside was very soft and mushy, but I wasnt sure if it was supposed to be like that. Overall love this place though, they made all their ice cream in house, and have lots of drink options too.

Fatty Daddy's in downtown Phoenix is a cute little ice cream shop that isn't trying to be anything fancy, and that's what makes it so charming. If you're looking for a solid and tasty scoop of ice cream, this is your place. Whether you want to go for a classic flavor or something more adventurous, the quality and taste hit the mark every time. They have seating inside & the safe is friendly. Check it out next time you're in the area!!

Depressing location. The ladies clearly did not enjoy their job. There's no background music so it was just a blah environment, like it sucked your energy. The blase attitude from the two staff members didn't help either. It was not welcoming or anything. The roasted marshmallow topping is a nice touch though and I'm not even a big fan of marshmallows. Ice cream is average. Not worth the place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Hands down our favorite ice cream shop in the valley! You absolutely have to try their cookie cup. All of the ice cream is made fresh with great ingredients, marshmallows and macaroons are made from scratch, and it's the best combo! Both locations are great and the ambiance is always inviting and comfortable. I am so surprised to see so many 4 star reviews. We drive from Ahwatukee to both of their locations all the time because it really is the best. Be sure to ask whomever is working for samples so you don't get a weird combo.. some of our favorites are the strawberry cheesecake, vanilla lavender, fruity pebbles, and birthday cake flavors.

I really enjoyed the vegan options available! Was surprised there was no vanilla option but the strawberry and chocolate were great! The mango was also reallllly good

Came here on a Sunday. We each had a scoop of ice cream, in a cup, for $12.95. They have some toppings options and cone options, but nothing that grabbed my eye. I did the salted caramel and i didn't taste Carmel, it was just very sweet. My dad got the coconut mango. We had initially planned to sit down inside. But the tables and chairs against the window were clearly dirty and sticky and needed to be cleaned. So we took it to go.

This place is just ok. They don't have a very large selection of flavors. But they do have some unique flavors that taste good. The line always goes super slow and the prices are kind of high per scoop. Inside is very white and there is not a lot of ambiance and nothing to explain the name Fatty Daddy's. Also, don't order boba if there is a line. They will continue to help the other people ordering ice cream before they go back and make your boba tea.

I wanted explore some of the downtown options for ice cream and found this store tucked away on Roosevelt Street next to the Union @ Roosevelt apartment complex. There are several street parking spots and a private parking garage for Union @ Roosevelt. If you park in the garage for longer than ~15 minutes, then you do have to pay or get a validation card from the cashier, which they ran out of when I visited (the least to say, parking can be kind of a pain). Aside from that, the inside of the store is clean with limited indoor seating, and the staff member who helped me was friendly and helpful. I got the cookies and cream as well as the strawberry ice cream flavors. The cookies and cream flavor was not my favorite, as it tasted store-bought. The strawberry was really good, tasted strongly of strawberries, and didn't taste artificial at all. Overall, I would be fine with coming back to try other flavors, but it doesn't strike me yet as a go-to spot to satisfy my sweet tooth.

I really do love the flavors but the price is the downfall. For the amount you get I could go to the grocery store and buy a quart of a good kind or pint of a fancy brand for the price of fatty daddy's. It has always been expensive. I've suggested several times to do rewards cards as incentive but so far I haven't seen any. I'm really fond of the cotton candy, strawberry cheesecake, fruity pebbles, rocky road and the cookie dough. I always get the same ones. There are quite a few fruit options too but I love the kid flavors! The waffle cones are tasty too. So fresh, crispy and vanilla-y. Like eating a really yummy fortune cookie in a different form.

The ice cream is delicious here. Some of the best I've ever tasted actually. Lavender Vanilla is my favorite. Lovely atmosphere and you can walk around the park. Service is excellent. Price is on par with any other ice cream place and you get a superior ice cream to most others.

My boyfriend really enjoyed the smores they had and they did have a few unique flavors. One of the only ice cream spots close by!.

I was really looking forward to an ice cream shop in this location, but unfortunately the gelato was just OK, kind of on the icy side which is fine with me, but very overpriced at $8 for two small scoops that were more like a single. It would be almost half that at two other shops in walking distance. I thought the peanut butter had a good flavor but the banana needed more fruit flavor and there was no atmosphere inside and no outside tables. Also, about an hour after finishing I had a lingering sour milk taste. I noticed that after each scoop, the server would put the scoop in a little tub of water with other scoops. Over the course of a day, that room temperature water with bits of ice cream in it is going to go bad. She did wash her hands prior to serving me. Hopefully they will change their cleaning practices, drop the price to be competitive and get some outside tables, we need more local businesses in the neighborhood.

I wish I could say good things about this place, the location is amazing but everything else was pretty much a bust: I got a boba drink there and the boba was hard and chalky like they didnt even cook it? I have worked at boba shops and never thought it would be possible to have a boba drink this bad. The milk tea itself was okay but I couldnt even enjoy it with the uncooked boba. Aside from the beverage, the place was so unorganized and dirty. There were so many stains on the furniture and the light pillows sticky/ caked with what I would guess to be dried up ice cream. One of the workers was also stiring up dust with some kind of work being done on the floor behind the counter. It was so loud and chaotic. Service wise- the staff at the front didnt seem happy to see us enter. But they took our order without problems and answered questions well when we had them. After our experience, I now understand why there was no one else in the establishment on a friday night. I hope they can do better given the great location but I wont be giving them another chance

Walked in and was served immediately. I checked out the flavors online prior to coming in but what was actually available in the store was different. What I wanted wasn't available so I selected strawberry. It was ok. My sister got a sample of the mango but didn't like it.

I saw this place on Pinterest and I had to try it while visiting Phoenix for a baseball game. Well what I can say is my cookie cup looked more plain than what I saw. I thought it was pretty steep paying $10 for a single scoop. It honestly was not the greatest and not what I expected

I took the family down to check out a taco place & they said they wanted some ice cream. After searching something nearby we happened upon Fatty Daddy's. It was a bit hard to find at first because parking isn't the easiest- probably more convenient for people in walking distance. The menu is hand written in chalk and a bit confusing. They don't have all the flavors of the macaroons listed so that was hard to choose. But over all the choices were good and best of all the kids enjoyed it.

Overhyped. This is one of those places you see photos of all over Instagram and it looks delicious... but unfortunately it just doesn't come through. It's extremely overpriced for the portion size. The taste of the ice cream was meh, the macaroon was okay, and the marshmallow was good. But honestly, it's hard to mess up this kind of food. Did it suck? No. But it was extremely sub par and I will not be returning. I was underwhelmed by the speed of service (it was sloth like), the cleanliness (dirty mop and cleaning materials scattered on the floor), and the atmosphere (messy, small area that did not look appealing to sit and eat ice cream at). Fatty Daddy's is a good concept but poor execution all around.

Cute shop! We got the cookie cup in a waffle bowl - you get to choose two flavors. We chose cookies and cream and birthday cake with a red velvet macaron. Overall it was pretty good but nothing out of this world. I also felt like it was slightly expensive for the amount of ice cream you get.

How many ways can you reinvent a classic treat like ice cream? Three former Go Daddy employees apparently believe they've got what it takes to make their own mark in the ever popular (and ever saturated) ice cream field. Owners Brian Ayala, Domenico Nolleti, and David Wesley are making a point of sourcing their stuff locally and often. With a bevy of ice cream flavors all made by Superstition Farms and a variety of macaron cookies all baked by Twelve Cakes Bakery, the ownership trio have now opened a pair of Fatty Daddy locations in the valley. The flagship remains in Scottsdale. Now Downtown Phoenix is getting in on the action. Downtown has its fair share of ice cream options, and some good ones (Melt, Novel, and even Mary Coyle are all in the vicinity). Does Fatty Daddy have what it takes to join the party? On a Saturday after dinner, I sought answers. Look for Fatty Daddy's Downtown location on the south side of Roosevelt Street and 2nd Avenue on the bottom floor of the Union apartment complex (next door to Genuwine). The space it occupies is small with very little seating (at least as of my visit this go around), so be prepared to get your treat to go. The front display case beckons your taste buds and the staff will happily allow you to taste test the flavors beforehand. In addition to ice cream, there's teas, coffees, and an assortment of pastries available as an alternative to their staples. I came here for what is apparently their claim to fame. The cookie cup. A scoop (or multiple scoops) of ice cream topped with one of their macarons and a toasted marshmallow. Alright then. I ordered a scoop of Nutella ice cream and a caramel macaron to go with the marshmallow on top. Total cost including tax? About $8. The ice cream itself was perfect. Cold, dense, and plenty of Nutella flavoring with each scoop and even a little aftertaste. The macaron and marshmallow were also delicious, though to be honest trying to operate this cup with a spoon was difficult. I ended up having to eat the cookie and marshmallow by hand as it's pretty impossible to cut up. Individually the ingredients are great and ideally getting a chunk of all three in one bite would be ideal. For me at least, it just wasn't workable. So I guess I'd dock a star mainly just because the logistics of the cookie cup are just too overly complicated. But as it pertains to the locally made ice cream and macarons, no complaints whatsoever. The location is great. The concept (for the most part) is sound. And I love the emphasis on locally made. Can Fatty Daddy's compete with the big ice cream names (not to mention the gelato and frozen yogurt spots) already occupying Downtown real estate? I'd say watch this space (and come get a scoop).

We have been going to their 1st shop in N 91st North Scottsdale. Stopping by this area, so check out this new shop in the art area with a lot of cool restaurants, wine place etc. We ordered affogato, Hong Kong egg waffle with ice cream & Bobby tea. They are all good. The seats are comfy.

We came here a few months ago & the 2 girls working did not make our drinks that well :/ but we came back recently & the lady working was so sweet !! I love how she made sure we wanted exactly what we ordered & it was so delicious! the drinks she made us were bomb ! & the waffle cones are the BEST ! me & my bf love to come here at night time it's such a good vibe, definitely coming back

I went in as one of their last customers for the evening and they sadly stopped serving boba, but thats okay because I expected that! The girl who helped me was super nice and patient. I picked the fruity pebbles flavor ice cream and macaron. I love it and highly recommend it and I can't wait to try the red velvet macaron with some of my other favorite ice cream flavors.

The ice-cream was really good and very fresh however the boba tasted so plain, I ordered strawberry and it tasted nothing like it.

Not great very little ice cream a scope was the size of a large tablespoon. Ice cream was alright at best.

Love Fatty Daddy's. Went here with my parents on a hot 100 degree day. It hit the spot. Ordered one scoop Nutella and one scoop scoop coconut. The lady behind the counter could not have been nicer. I'm so happy this new ice cream place opened on Roosevelt row. They are new to the area, opened up in March. We need to support local !!

Every time I've been to Fatty Daddy's I've been let down. The most recent time I got a Thai Tea. The drink was $9 and super watered down. Nothing bad or good about the service or ambiance. Just overpriced mediocre food/drink.

An employee (wearing a fatty daddy logo tee shirt) who is likely the owner, or at the very least, a manager (green/blue hair and a nose ring) , was verbally attacking a person (who is likely her daughter) in the lobby, and threatening to smack her across the face. I guarantee I will never return to this establishment. Ice cream was fine. Nothing special. Waffle cone was fine. Nothing special. Prices seem exorbitant even in these post covid, inflation-riddled times. Honestly completely forgettable place were it not for the spectacle. Disappointing.

Bobas consistency is not the best definitely not fresh, flavor of taro milk tea tastes more like just milk. would not recommend:/

Fatty Daddy's is phenomenal! The customer service is great, the Ice-cream is always delicious (especially the Fatty Daddy's cookie cup shown in the picture), and this is a perfect place for a mid-day date or Sunday self-care stress reliever!

Ice cream is good Hours are all over the place. They will open and close whenever, so do not believe the hours listed. Prices are all over the place. I get the same thing every time and the price is different every time. Kind of annoying having to ask what am I getting charged for when they see your face every other day and you order the same thing.

This place is a rip-off! Watch what they charge you!! Ordered 2 single cones only and then was charged an additional $2.00 for toppings! What toppings? Never ordered any toppings!! And of all things I even gave a tip!! Rip-off!!!

Came in on Father's Day for dessert. Ordered three of the single scoops with the macaroon and marshmallow toasted on top. The marshmallow was great and the cookie pretty good. The ice cream was weak. Lower milk fat to the point of ice crystals. The flavors were all off too. Not much vanilla in the cream flavors. Some off flavors as well. Cookies and marshmallows all consumed. Ice cream went in the trash.

We walked here after having dinner and we couldn't find their location advertised both on Google and Yelp. Other than that had a great dessert.

Years ago this was one of our favorite places to get ice cream and dessert. Fast fwd to 2022 it has been under new management for awhile and the desserts and drinks are disgustingly sweet. No where near the quality they used to be. Save yourself time and money go elsewhere.

Milk teas could use more flavor and more ice , felt like I just ordered watery matcha.

Not super impressed and oddly, for being an ice cream shop, it was hot inside. I couldn't wait to grab my cup and head out the door. Ice cream wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything special about it, especially for the price.

We got two scoops and two coffees and we were waiting for about 30 minutes. There was only one employee and she was not very nice. Coffee wasn't even good.

First time there glad they are open until 11pm on Friday! Loved the fruity pebble, captain crunch and pb banana chocolate chip ice cream! Macaroon s'mores was the cherry on top

Great selection of macaroons and gelato! I got the signature cookie cup which is gelato, a macaron and a toasted marshmallow on top. It was delicious! We also got a s'mores. I really like the marshmallow that they use--not just a regular marshmallow out of the bag, but one that is bigger and fresher. I will definitely be back to try other things!!

Ice cream flavor wasn't bad. Agreed with a lot of the rest of the reviews. Not out of the ordinary ice cream parlor. The smoked marshmallow was actually tasty. I was thrown off by cashier because she was dressed in pjs. Batman pjs to be exact, wasn't wearing a bra and it looked like she had just climbed out of bed. I most likely won't return unless it's the only place open.

I ordered a shake and the first person gave me a bit of an attitude because she didn't want to make a shake I guess maybe? But she stopped making it and served two people while I waited. Then a girl came out of the bathroom and dried her hands from the bathroom in the kitchen and stepped in and made my shake wrong. I basically got milk. I saw her whisper to the other girl "I don't know how to make it" so I'm assuming she either didn't know how or didn't care enough to make an actual milkshake. Either way sucks I paid 10$ + a high tip because the girl was staring at the tip I was making on the iPad to pressure me into tipping higher, for a weird not shake.
