What a delicious piece of Sorrento. The service was insanely fast. The breakfast came out almost immediately. It included eggs, a cappuccino breads and fresh juice from the local farms. I was SO happy it really set the pace for my trip. The prices were very fair. Espresso was only a little over a euro for a shot. The pastries were epic as well. Highly recommend.

Google
We went on 31st December.. last year's night and the restaurant is exactly located in middle of the street and next to famous Christmas tree.. the view was amazing and as it was 31st we had to wait in a queue but the food was amazing..

Google
Amazing hospitality from all the staff! We went on Saturday when it was very busy. The Italian gentleman at the door kindly offered us a seat inside, and we were even given a complimentary glass of Prosecco while we waited. After about 7–8 minutes, a table became available. The waitress was very welcoming, and the food was also great. Thank you so much see you soon!

Google
Gluten free and vegan menu. We stopped by for lunch after a tour. Was glad they had gf options. Ordered the grilled chicken. Was tasty and came with a salad. The others had the lamb and potatoes and the 4 cheese pizza. All the food was excellent. But I was especially impressed that they brought me gluten free bread when they brought normal bread for the others. Without being asked. Service was excellent. Location is great too right in the town square.

Google
Very nice place to eat.. Being a vegetarian had the best pasta.. Alfredo cream sauce.. they added zucchini and onions on request. Many vegetarian and vegan options available. Staff is really nice and helpful.

Google
I usually try to avoid these kinds of large restaurants with huge amounts of people as the service is always so slow. This wasn't the case at all it was fast prompt and making sure everything was up to standard. I ordered a beer and a carbonara and it was really delicious. Plus for the area the prices were really good! Visiting Sorrento doesn't have to be expensive if you can find the right place without sacrificing the quality.

Google
Located in the heart of Piazza Tasso, this charming place offers a authentic Italian experience. Staff was very welcoming and ambience was quite lively. They didn’t made us wait in the queue but rather offered the free prosecco till we get the table. We found some of nice Vegan/Vegetarian options and staff made sure we get the nice table for two days in a row. Highly recommended place in Sorrento.

Google
This place is always full even when there's no more room inside. People are still waiting outside. I genuinely recommend this restaurant to everyone. From my experiences in Africa to Sorrento, this one really stood out. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal or a special evening out. The food is delicious, especially the salmon, and the customer service is outstanding. Thank you so much, Fauno Bar. I will keep the great memories of my visit to your place.

Yelp
Love their uniforms, very classy. Our tour included vouchers to get ice cream or a beverage here. Service was excellent: immediate seating, desserts brought quickly to our table. Hubs also ordered a huge extra dessert. We left him to enjoy his 2 desserts and walked down the Main Street in Sorrento.

Athena B.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this quaint little spot. The servers were very welcoming and kind! We started with caprese then I chose the eggplant and my husband had a panini. We were Both very happy with our Choices. The eggplant was so fresh & flavorful!! Hubby loved his panini as it was also very fresh & tasty!

S C.

Yelp
Wonderful service Good pacing overall All our dishes were lovely and delicious! Definitely try it!

Yelp
First, this place reminds of a place in time, where you meet your lover or friend/s, feeling the beauty of the ambiance this place exudes. You feel excited to get a coffee, dessert, a meal whatever the moment calls for. It's busy, it's touristy, it's the place to be. Service is fast and efficient, food is good and the view, well that's a whole other review. This staple has been here for years and I've been lucky to return many times

Rick R.

Yelp
The food is amazing, started with fresh olives. A limoncello spritzer, the on a whim I got grilled squid salad (had grilled squid in Greece once when they ran out of o toy. 5 huge grilled tubes and the flavor was incredible. My wife had shrimp and salad. All in all, gotta hit this place if in Sorrento

Jaison J.

Yelp
Great spot in the city square to enjoy some food and the atmosphere of Sorrento. We ordered 2 caffè lattes and Focaccia Capresse. The focaccia Capresse was perfect. The Focaccia was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fresh tomatoes and mozzarella were a great touch on top. Service was good.

Kim G.

Yelp
Located right in the the Piazza Tasso, this was a perfect spot to enjoy meal and glass of wine while soaking in the sun in the heart of Sorrento. Yes, it's touristy, but if you want to be immersed in the scene, grab a table here and idle the time away. This central square is always bustling with people and full of energy as is Fauno Bar. If you see a table open when you pass by, go for it! The entire time I was in Italy, I indulged in pasta daily! I'm from an Italian American family and pasta was always a staple at our house. When home, I try to limit pasta to just one or twice a month but when in Italy, it was pasta and gelato and my favorite pastry, sfogiatelle, everyday! Oh, and wine, lots of red wine. The pasta carbonara here was very good, the simple ingredients of egg yolk, parmigiana reggiano and guancale coming together to make a creamy, salty savory sauce. But it was very, very rich! So we shared the pasta along with a Caprese salad for a very satisfying meal. A friend had the veal scalloping and loved it. The very thin slices of veal quickly sautéed in a lemon, caper & white wine sauce that allowed all the ingredients to shine.

Annie Y.

Yelp
Great place to people watch and have Aperitivo. It is located in the center of Piazza Tasso. I had Pimms and lemon soda twice. It was delicious both times. My friend had the Aperol Spritz and just as good. On our last evening in Sorrento, we had dinner after drinks. The Spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and basil was simple, but incredibly delicious. The waiters will leave you alone to enjoy your drinks and view and will not come to you unless you flag them down.

Jim S.

Yelp
This is a great place to have lunch, dinner, or just a drink and people watch. Our food was very good and service was great but the weather was outstanding and made it even more enjoyable to dine outside.

Matt B.

Yelp
Nice little spot in Sorrento for a quick afternoon snack and drink. The coperto offerings were great for the kids who weren't very hungry and were able to snack on some delicious local olives and various bagged treats. The macchiato was made wonderfully and very tasty. The babá was okay but the star of the show was the sfogliatelle (not pictures). Was warm and flaky and had an amazing balance of pastry to filling. I wish we had bought more for the road. The ambience of being in the main city square was great and really enjoyed our visit to this local spot.

Mitchell L.

Yelp
Low quality- they bank on location and turn over. Very watered down cappuccino, breakfast sandwiches are smashed plain bread (think wonder bread in America) with Oscar Meyer quality sliced ham and cheese. Didn't finish any of my meal.

Alexander H.

Yelp
Came here by tour during Covid-19. Taking a tour at that time was the only way to visit. Suprisingly there weren't really any other visitors that day. The views here are of course the reason to come. Nice views of the Gulf of Napoli, the Vesuvio and the Sorrento Coast. There would also be a beach club, a restaurant and a hotel on site, sharing the same amazing views. I never get enough of the ocean. And just standing here taking the views in was enough for for me. A peaceful sight. Really enjoyed this spot.

Kelly I. R.

Yelp
Awful service to African American customers! Seated us and took 30 minutes to take our order (after I flagged waiter down) and then took another 15 minutes before we asked for the check because of the slow service. Didn't allow us to pay with the coupon we had for drinks until I asked for manager we reluctantly gave a refund. However everyone white person that came in after us, was seated, immediately took their orders and food came before our order of beverages!! Manager offered NO apologies ONLY excuses for the terrible service provided to us by his staff

B K.

Yelp
Five stars!! Excellent food. Excellent service. Fettuccine Alfredo was great all the pizzas were delicious!! And it was very busy and we got sat within five minutes

Hilary L.

Yelp
While on a shore excursion, this restaurant was recommended by others. The restaurant was packed and had a lively atmosphere. We went there for late dinner and found that there was very minimal wait time. Outside dining was pleasant as the restaurant is located in the heart of the Piazza Tasso. Food was very good. Would recommend to others.

Caroline F.

Yelp
Service was mediocre at best. Went for lunch in the afternoon as it was a busy place however place the order, got our food, and then never saw anyone again. Had to ask for the check 3 times and had to wave down the server several times before he reached a point where he could no longer ignore us any further. Would not bother again as there are far more restaurants in the area that gave more common decency to patrons.

P Z.

Yelp
I've been leaving some ratings on our Italian vacation along the Malfi coast and the restaurants we've been to. And I've marked out most of them have been underwhelming from a food perspective. I have to tell you overall this was the best restaurant we've been to It's busy and if there's a line they bring you to a waiting area and give you some Prosecco. Then they sit down and all the food was better than average to excellent (we should not be a surprise in this area, but it is). Then they finish it off with an aperitif. Wish I came here the first night. Service excellent AND the price point was perfection. Super value. You won't be disappointed. Pizza and Caesar salad are the better than OK ...but not the thing you write home about. The Minestrone was exceptional. I had spaghetti and meatballs.... Excellent. Calamari exceptional.

Sophia C.

Yelp
Our tour guide dropped us off smack in the center of town and needing a bathroom break we went here to use the restroom as it was right there and bustling. But passing the pastries on display definitely tempted me - I got a cappuccino to go and a very boozy pastry - both were delish! The staff was attentive even on a super busy afternoon.

Laurence K.

Yelp
For some reason it doesn't have great reviews but on the country it was quite good beautiful outdoor seating great menu and nice cocktails and definitely a place to watch people walk by we had spaghetti agilio olio , Spaghetti and meatballs , and pizza all excellent

Malcolm M.

Yelp
Great food ,great service, great cocktails, excellent management. Perfect place to eat and see all the action in the town

Singi D.

Yelp
Great place for that Italian happy hour & people watching. Staff was very nice. Great outdoor seating even though its crowded

Forum S.

Yelp
We came here as it in the center of the Palazzo and the location is really nice. Other than the location we were really disappointed with the food. I got the vegetable bruscetta and it was just grilled vegetables on bread. There was no seasoning at all. My friend got a fish dish and she said the fish was really tough. She had also ordered the seafood risotto and they completely forgot about the order. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and our server barely visited our table. It was hard to even get water refills. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would not go back.

Anthony S.

Yelp
Great place for an evening meal to dine al fresco. It's in the middle of Tasso Square. They gave us free Prosecco while waiting for a table. Food was excellent! Loved the fried anchovies appetizer. Service was great and listened to live music from the square. Free aperitif after meal. Thoroughly enjoyed it and very good grilled seafood.

David B.

Yelp
Located in the heart of the Piazza. Was busy and the staff seemed busy as a result. Pizza was good and came quickly. Nice to sit outside and people watch having lunch.

Brandon M.

Yelp
Service was terrible, we waited 20+ minutes for our second drink and had to call someone over to make them bring it to us. Then we couldn't get anyone to bring us a check. Tourist trap in the middle of the square walk further down a side street to find much more personal service and way better food.

Greg B.

Yelp
Horrible. Tourist Trap. DO NOT GO HERE! My wife and I chose to eat here on a Friday night for a few reasons 1) they had a big patio and we had our 7 month old with us-we figured if our daughter cried it wouldn't bother as many people if we were sitting outside, 2) The place had good ratings online (Google, Yelp, and Four Square), 3) the place was packed. Well, my daughter didn't cry, but I sure did. We ordered a marinara pizza, the lasagna, and a salad. The pizza was so heavy on garlic, it was gross. The lasagna was legitimately worse than Stouffer's frozen lasagna back in the US. The salad came out in a pool of water-it was clear they'd just washed the lettuce and thrown it directly on the plate soaking wet. Not only did our meal suck, the table next to us sent both of their dishes back and said, "It has no flavor?!" to the waiter. I was waiting to see what the kitchen was going to do about their comments, because I'm positive no flavor was coming out of that kitchen. Unfortunately, we had to leave before I could see how their complaint was resolved. Go anywhere else. You do not want to go to this place. Any random restaurant will be better than this place.

Anna P.

Yelp
Had dinner here last night and it was soooo delicious! The seafood was amazingly fresh and the price totally reasonable for such fresh seafood! Must try their Limoncello, so good and strong An added bonus, they have very clean, many stall toilets:)

Candace L.

Yelp
We stopped in Fauno Bar to grab a bite for lunch. I enjoyed how their tables are situated to face the piazza so we were able to people watch while sharing the lasagna and caprese salad. The caprese was not great. This is such a simple little dish that I make very often and my super straightforward version blows theirs out of the water. If this is what caprese is supposed to be, I'm not a fan. The lasagna was just ok. We make better at home as well. All in all we needed a light lunch since we hadn't eaten all day but I didn't love the food.

Abhi R.

Yelp
Had lunch at this place during our Sorrento visit. The place was running busy but we were seated quickly. The starter bread was cold and hard. So I asked for warm. The server said he would try but can not confirm. After few mins, he brought warm and slightly softer bread. Food came out quickly. Out of the food we ordered, Gnocchi and Spaghetti were good. The pesto with tofu was ok. The tofu pieces were tiny and the pasta was undercooked. Bruschetta was not good. It had a bitter taste at the end. Minestrone soup was bland. Also my boys ordered fruit punch but it was not good. I would have given the place a 3-star but what made me make it a 1-star is their sneaky way to add "cover charge". When the bill came, I noticed $4.5 of cover charge in the bill. When I asked the server what it was, he said "tax". To make it even more sneaky, the cover charge is listed in between the entrees, not at the end. That tells me the place tries to sneak in this cost as most people may not notice. Definitely left a bad taste for us. P.S. just read online that this cover charge "Pane e coperto " is in all Italian restaurants, so updating my rating to 3 stars based on the quality of the food.

Lolly S.

Yelp
Loved finding a place with a whole page of GF options!! Delicious, delicious gnocchi with fresh Basel. Companions enjoyed Seafood pasta. Looked delicious. Wish I would have had room for chocolate profiteroles. House red wine was great!

Mimi P.

Yelp
Best people watching spot. Came here for an afternoon drink and it was nice sitting outdoors just people watching - service was great ! I had an espresso martini and that did not disappoint, they have give you little munchies to snack on.. Didn't get a chance to try the food but it looked good...

Kimberly T.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with indoor/outdoor dining in the center. Excellent food and drink. Reasonable prices.

Sandy V.

Yelp
Food is fine, service it terrible. Staff barely said two words to us. Then when we were ready to go our server flashed a creepy fake smile, brought us two shots on the house and pressured for a tip. I'm sure this works on at least Americans because we are used to tipping and have tip guilt. But this place was unfriendly and there is a ton of amazing food around, no need to wait you meal on mediocrity at best.

Josh R.

Yelp
The food here is pretty good! This place is definitely about the experience. It's right on the square and perfect for people watching. The night life here is great. The service is good too.

Clarice H.

Yelp
Coffee is eh, but great for passing time. I was alone for the day, and so I decided to get a table at Fauno and order a coffee and people watch. I ordered a caffe Freddo (non-sweetened), and the cup wasn't even that big. It was overly milk flavored, and I could barely taste the coffee. At €4, we're not paying for the drink, we're paying for the view!

joe m.

Yelp
The food was iffy. Definitely avoid the prosciutto plate. The service was one of the worst I have ever experienced. I understand people having a bad day or even a bad life but one does not pay to be treats so badly. It is a picturesque spot to people watch, which is the only reason to go there. However I wouod give this zero stars if I could

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Probably the most average place I went. The pizza was meh and the burger alright too. Service was fine. Seems like most places located in a nice area, the Piazza Tasso is pretty average.

Trish K.

Yelp
This place was absolutely TERRIBLE! If you have low expectations and don't enjoy authentic Italian cuisine, then you'll be fine. If you expect excellent food, you will be disappointed. The food was disgusting. Not fresh. We had a late breakfast that day. Simple toast. After touring the Sorrento area, we were hungry. We walked by this tourist trap where they were begging people to come in to eat. Unfortunately, we decided to go in and we will forever regret it after both of my children were ill and vomiting all night and the next day. It's either a dirty kitchen or old/not fresh food. GROSS!

Mary-Jane A.

Yelp
Walked past this restaurant in the afternoon and it was very busy and the food looked good, made a reservation for the evening. We were not disappointed with the food. Large menu and great selection. Throughout the evening that we were there people were lining up to get a table. We ate outside and it was nice to be able to people watch. They had many servers and they were all attentive and cleared up plates quickly when finished. We had the seafood linguine which was so good. Full of mussels, clams, fish and shrimps. Also had the mixed meat grill with roast potatoes which was very tasty as well. Great restaurant, food was delicious!

Sonia C.

Yelp
I ordered a seafood pasta with tomato sauce and it was fishy... my husband ordered a dish with swordfish, shrimp & grilled squid.. not that much flavour and the swordfish was very hard. to top it all off, there were a LOT of flies swarming around our food and us as we sat outside. we really only came here because it was convenient but had a feeling it wouldn't amaze us and it didn't. the view of the square was cool though.. nothing outstanding to note ****the above review was written on their Tripadvisor page, the owner responded extremely defensively and wished to never see us again. what childish and poor business management!!*** FYI we did tell the waiter the swordfish was hard and he responded that it's supposed to be like that! needless to say we would never come here ever again.

Ali H.

Yelp
Aight so, look this is good for a coffee ,something sweet , drinks ,hanging out with friends and enjoying a relaxed evening . As far as food goes, Sorrento has so much More to offer in terms of food . I'm not saying Not to go for lunch, I'm just saying it's a 3 star option.

Elena A.

Yelp
This place has such a great location! Tables face out into the plaza and it was nice. The menu is VERY extensive. There are so many options for food and drinks! The waiter was nice and explained some misconceptions. They do give bread at the beginning and when we got our check we received shots as a goodbye. It was a nice surprise. The food was good and different from what we had been eating. I got 1/2 pasta and meatballs and 1/2 margherita pizza. We shared a caprese salad and my boyfriend got chicken and roasted potatoes.(forgot the name).

Zara A.

Yelp
Average place. It was super packed on a Monday afternoon in September. The service is ridiculously slow. Ordered drinks, which tasted like they were watered down; and it took at least one hour from sitting down to getting up. They do give you snacks on the side though, which was nice! The location was great too, as it was right in the square plaza in Sorrento!

Iliana V.

Yelp
Loved that place!! What a great location in middle of Tasso square. Sitting tables go all out allowing for full view of the plaza. Food is good and service is quite fast. Prices are very reasonable. For family of 4 we would eat and drink for roughly 45 euros. That includes Prosecco or wine. Definitely good place for lunch.

Annie C.

Yelp
Great location right in the center of the town, reasonable price and great services. We are family of 4 ate at the restaurant 3 times during our stay at Sorrento. The restaurant was really clean inside out and services level is as good as the high end restaurants at US. Seafood pasta was our favorite, 14 euro.

Sara H.

Yelp
Fun spot for an Aperitivo. If you are looking for a spot to have a drink and watch the scene, this is a good spot. On the day of our visit it seemed to be a good mix of Italians and travelers. Service was great and there was a decent cocktail, wine by the glass, and beer menu. Desserts/pastries/coffee looked like great options too.

Brianna S.

Yelp
When I studied in Sorrento, Fauno was easily my favorite restaurant. We ate here very often and the service was always perfect as well as the quality and taste of food. They have a ton of drinks to choose from as well and their dessert is also always amazing! I would recommend the Gnocchi or the classic spaghetti. The manager and employees are incredibly friendly and professional. It will be my first stop when I go back to Sorrento!

Liza F.

Yelp
The food here was good and service was good. Not extraordinary by any means but authentic Italian food with a huge menu. We sat outside by the street with so much action to watch, even a minor car accident (no one was hurt). They had limon soda made in Italy which was amazing so I was searching for it everywhere I went for the rest of the trip.

Xinyu L.

Yelp
Touristy but good by American standard. The pasta is more chewy than American made pasta. The pizza is stuffed with ham and cheese with seafood on top. They gave cherry liquers for free at the end. (They charge $3 cover fee, be sure to eat the bread.)
