The 35 Best Restaurants in Porto, Portugal | Eater

"A pioneer in the vegetarian scene in Portugal, this modern restaurant in Leça da Palmeira has become a national reference. Built only with natural elements (wood, burnt cement, and marble), it could inspire an entire Pinterest board. Chef Nuno Castro serves meatless recipes blending familiar flavors with contemporary flair. Look out for the restaurant’s creative takes on classic Portuguese dishes like caldeirada, the country’s iconic seafood stew, and how chef Castro draws on every part of his ingredients, from stems to leaves. Must-try dish: Sliced pickled beets with gorgonzola stracciatella and black garlic ice cream." - Rafael Tonon

Genuinely vegetarian restaurant that takes creativity seriously. The decor is "green" elegant without trying too hard, and the staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. We came for a family dinner — reservation was simple to make online and definitely recommended. The chef’s vegetarian creations are original and beautifully presented. We shared six dishes among three people, and each one felt like the new favorite. The cold “Beetroot, gorgonzola, black garlic and lamb’s lettuce” set the tone perfectly, while the warm “Açorda of brioche and tupí, turnip tops and wild mushrooms” was unforgettable. The reimagined Black Forest dessert closed the evening on a high note. Yes, prices are on the upper side, but they’re justified by the ingredient quality, the creativity on the plate, and the level of service. Not a place for meat lovers — this is where vegetables take the spotlight. I only wish there were a restaurant like this closer to home. I’d return without hesitation.

Every single bite was so unique and absolutely delicious. The depth and layers of flavor were satiating alone. As a self-proclaimed foodie and flavor critic I am always finding where meals can be “elevated” to be more satisfying - these dishes needed nothing. They were all perfectly balanced in flavor, texture and portion. If I could have pushed a button to rewind and have the meal all over again I would have. The ambiance is cozy and earthy, the service was exceptional, the presentation was art and the chef was visibly focused, pouring love and intention into every dish. 10/10 will definitely be back, can not recommend this place enough!!

An absolutely amazing place. Felt a little rushed to begin with but I get that they want to get the first order in. Food was so GOOD! I mean really good. I was recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Staff amazingly friendly. Each dish has to be savoured. Enjoyed. The flavour pairings were amazing. I would love to go back for a taster menu with paired wines. In terms of cost, it is very reasonable. I would pay twice this in London or Paris.

What a great dinner. One of the best vegetarian experiences I had in Portugal so far. Celery root with "oyster" sorbet was an amazing starting point, the katso sando and "seathings" rice elevated it a bit more, and the white chocolate and green curry desert was the perfect finish.

Overall: Extremely underwhelming food, but friendly service. Food: We liked the concept of this restaurant, but every single dish was overpriced for what you get. Not only that, but everything lacked flavor. I’ve eaten at many vegetarian restaurants around the world, and I wouldn’t recommend this one—even if the prices were lower. Service: The staff were friendly, which is the only reason this place gets an extra star.

The food was absolutely incredible – especially the vegetarian dishes, which were some of the best we’ve ever had. We’re really grateful we had the chance to eat here. On top of that, the staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommended!

I'm not vegetarian, but we had a selection of dishes here as starters, and my veggie friends had the chick pea curry. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly and professional, rose wine was the best I've had in Porto. (And I've had alot). Thank you especially to Ines , and the rest of the team. Nice to see young professionals in action!"
