I had lunch with my clients there, and after looking at 3 homes, the food was amazing, we ordered the pork belly, crab cakes, and egg rolls, and I couldn't get enough of them. Service, drinks, and food were exceptional. I will come back and this time with my wife.

This place was amazing. The food, the service, the decorations. It was so cool. I went with a group of 10. We ordered a variety of food and shared our plates. I would definitely recommend.

I spent my birthday with two other friends who share the same birthday at American Federal Grill. The server was excellent and helped to make our birthday memorable. The food was excellent! They even gave us a complimentary bread pudding for our birthday. Thanks, American Federal, for the superb service!

The food was delicious! Visited for restaurant weeks, but will definitely be back! The bang bang shrimp was so good! Everything we were served was piping hot, especially the biscuits! And the staff was unbelievably sweet, let them know in my OpenTable reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. There was a card on the table when we sat down signed by all the staff and my mom's dessert was served with a sparkler. Definitely recommend for your next celebration or dinner!

I finally made it to Federal American Grill! A friend of mine goes at least 3 times a week, so I was curious about the hype. We stopped in for drink, but I definitely want to go back for a meal. The decor is very pretty inside. It’s a nice place to gather with friends, very clean and the service is great. They have valet parking available. I would classify this place as upscale with a cozy setting. The food looks delicious, but we were on our way to another spot, so I was able to try anything. Love, love, LOVE the setting!

Google
When looking for a place to eat, I tend to go to independent restaurants and avoid chains. But there are a few chain restaurants that I like, both for their consistency and for overall quality. One of those is Federal Grill, so I was more than happy to visit the Federal Grill in Hedwig Village and give it a try. This Federal grill location is right next to Interstate 10, which makes it easy to find and fast to get to. Once here, you can opt for either valet parking or self- parking. If you want to self-park, just head to the parking garage in back. The parking right in front of the restaurant is valet. When you enter this restaurant, the first thing you will notice is the large whiskey bar and it is quite impressive. Whiskey lovers will enjoy carousing in the whiskey bar area and trying the different varieties of whiskey and bourbon. I would bet that many people who come here do so for that reason alone. For me, my visit was for a good meal and I settled in on the Federal Burger and fries. I have tried other sandwiches in the past, at Federal Grill, and enjoyed them all so I was confident that this menu selection would meet my standards, which it easily did. They cooked it the way I like it and the added bacon made for a satisfying, high protein dinner. I liked my experience at Federal Grill in Hedwig Village. I did notice that the bottles of beer were a little on the pricey side compared to that of other restaurants, and the same could be said of the wine and cocktails. But overall, this Federal Grill location is a good one and it’s a restaurant I recommend to all who love an all- American meal.

I initially visited Federal Grill as a guest at my friend's apartment building's holiday gathering. Since I was her plus one, everything was complimentary, and let me tell you, it was worth it. The place was bustling, so I decided to wait at the bar until my friend arrived. They served various appetizers, including spinach dip, sticky ribs, short rib sliders, and Cajun chicken sliders. Spinach dip didn't quite do it for me, and I skipped the ribs because I don't eat pork. However, the sliders were a hit. We asked one of the managers if the ribs on the table were pork, and he confirmed it without hesitation. He even brought us a plate of short ribs over mushroom risotto with sautéed spinach, and it was pure magic. The restaurant didn't skimp on the air conditioning either; it was so cold that I needed my jacket. We had a dedicated server for our area who was attentive and recommended some dishes from the menu. When we asked for hot tea, she brought us some with lemon and honey. I got a craving for dessert and took her suggestion of trying the butter cake. It was decent but a bit too doughy inside for my taste. In the end, we only had to pay for the dessert, which was fine by me. They offer complimentary valet parking, which is convenient. When I returned on my own, I tried the meatloaf, as per the waitress's recommendation, and it didn't disappoint. The crab cake was good, but I've had better Caesar salads. One highlight was the complementary biscuits, served with hot jelly and whipped butter – those were amazing. I would highly recommend Federal Grill with a rating of 10 out of 10. They have multiple locations, but I visited the Katy location, and I'll likely stick to that one and possibly check out the downtown location when it opens.

Google
We had the bang bang shrimp, the Caesar salad and the scallops with risotto. It was our first time here and everything was excellently prepared and the service was attentive and timely. We will return for another meal.

Yelp
[houston restaurant week] i started with the poke, which was pretty tasty. the salmon was perfectly paired with creamy avocado and crunchy wontons - the soy honey citrus sauce was a great mix of sweet and tangy & the red onions gave a nice sharpness that balanced everything out. every bite had a great mix of flavors and textures. for the main course, i went with the classic philly cheesesteak - the beef was tender and juicy, with sautéed onions and peppers that were just right. the bread was soft but held everything together perfectly without getting soggy. our waitress was super attentive, making sure we got our food quickly and keeping our water and drinks filled up the whole time.

Marie L.

Yelp
Overpriced and the food is just OK, not worth what you're paying. I think it's a bit hyped up, but it'll do if you want something nearby that offers some small plate options.

Crystal W.

Yelp
I have to say, as many times as we have come here, tonight was the most disappointing. Your only saving grace was Gio, our waiter. I wish I had taken photos of the food and recorded the ugliness of the manager on duty tonight. I chose to spend my Mother's Day dinner here because we absolutely love this place and all it stands for. (Supporting other businesses, supporting your community and those parties that you support in the political arena). Tonight, you failed us. The crab cake I ordered (and is one of the reasons I come here; that and service) was burnt. On both sides. This was my dinner. I apologetically sent it back knowing what the crab cake looks like and tastes like. The second one brought to me, was pretty much the burnt removed, and the asparagus peeled to nubs. The chicken fried chicken was like a small piece of a chicken tender, the gravy was hardened because it sat there for so long before being served. Now here's where my evening (Mother's Day, mind you) went in a downward spiral. Your manager on duty, Taylor, came over to bring the crab cake, we mentioned about the serving temperature of the chicken dish. She proceeded to be VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. Pretty much called my husband a liar and walked away when he was still speaking. This was the SECOND time she did this...walked away when we were speaking. I can tell you, our sweet waiter could only apologize. She ruined my desire to finish my meal that your cooks burnt and "replaced" with fresh. I asked Gio to pack it up because I was so flabbergasted at the way we were treated I had lost my appetite. Not only that but instead of seating us in the main dining room, (which when we called for reservations, we were told a high top or the table by the kitchen, we said the high top will be fine. Which we did not get) we were shoved in the bar in the furthest corner of the room. I cannot tell you how horrible Taylor was. I cannot ever fathom anyone speaking to a customer the way she did. We do not look for a free pass. We only wanted to advise that the kitchen staff had sent out cold food. She argued "we checked the temperature of the chicken..." that was not what my husband had conveyed. When there is a crust over the white gravy and cold to the touch, it doesn't mean the food is undercooked. It means THE FOOD CAME OUT COLD! And by free pass, I mean, we don't ever ask for a free meal. My son got the Mother's Day meal and his pecan crusted red snapper was dry. My daughter, who really enjoyed her French dip, shared it with her brother. My husband, whose chicken fried chicken came out cold, ate the snapper so food did not go to waste. We ate it, we paid for it. I am VERY disappointed in the overall experience. I can say, Gio, our waiter was very embarrassed for us and very apologetic, which he had absolutely no reason to apologize but he did. I would say it'd be a cold day in hell before I ever go back BUT because I know this is NOT typical of Federal Grill, we will return. Next time though, I will call ahead and make sure Taylor is not working because if she is, we will spend our time and money at a restaurant who appreciates their patrons.

Yelp
We were a group of friends who gathered to catch up. All had not been here before. We were immediately impressed by the gracious and accommodating staff. The diverse menu in both flavors and amount of food was great, especially for lighter appetites. I enjoyed the half portion of Janice's Meatloaf. Very tender on perfectly mashed potatoes and crispy onion strings. The Cobb Salad Cajun Chicken Sandwich and Black Angus Ribeye were also enjoyed at our table. A wonderful experience which we hope to return to soon.

Yelp
This location is right off of Katy freeway. The ambiance is nice you have an outside and inside casual attire, the have a lot of space for parking. Complimentary valet and a parking garage, but you do have to walk in the front to get in. My review would be on the brunch experience, I was with a large group, they were accommodating with seating, as for the service we had at this location he was not very accommodating for a large group. So the experience on that leave was not to great. Now let get to the good stuff...tha food!!!! The cheeseburger egg roll was ok in my option the meat was a little dry but the did that went with had a good taste. Spinach dip was good nicely flavored I couldn't get enough of that. Bang bang shrimp was good nice flavor and not spicy! I had chicken and French toast , the one thing is that the brown sugar butter did not go great sitting on top of the chicken. I would have preferred for it to just be on the French toast and not the chicken, it made it overly sweet. Potato was nice season and bacon was good. Now the did have a special on the old fashion, as you can see in the picture it had to much ice. That was a pass for me. I will come back to visit the lunch and the dinner experience.

Yelp
The rainbow trout I ordered dressed with crab meat and lobster sauce. It was very delicious. The service was excellent and courteous. I like a lot the witty quotes on their walls and in the bathroom.

Yelp
We had an AWESOME brunch this morning at Federal Grill. We had a party of 10 and never wanted for anything. Top notch service. The ambiance was geared for adults but I can see older kids being ok with it. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Armando took care of us today and really made some helpful suggestions. Please go by and give this location a try. We went for brunch and can't wait to go back and try dinner options One little note to management, one of our guests had a little one but there was no wall changing table in the ladies room. ****Just wanted to add this in case any mama's out there will be prepared before you go.

Yelp
Quite impressive location and even more so the decorative facility, which is located on the I-10 feeder. Parking is limited so you can either do complimentary valet (huge wait times sometimes) or you can park in the garage behind the building (First 2 floors are mostly reserved for other businesses). Pick your poison. We walked in and told the greeter a table for 4 people, the greeter then handed us off to the hostess (older than your typical hostess) who grabbed 2 menus. When we got the table, the lady asked if it was just us two. We said no, there's two more coming. She automatically laid blame on the greeter telling her two, which I know they didn't. Now that our hostess knows we have 2 more coming, you would think she would get an additional two menus for our friends. Alas, nope she huffed away from our table. Waitress came and greeted us very will with a nice basket of biscuits! NGL this was delish. We asked for a second basket too. I elected to order the Iron Man omelette, which was actually quite delish, although a bit plain. The wifey got the bigger and you also have the option of getting half chips/fries with it. Overall food wise was good, waitress was great. Pricing point is on the higher end, but its to be expected with the nice ambiance of a Sunday afternoon. Overall experience was a positive one. Hostess started us off on the wrong foot (should probably retire), but Federal American Grill is good. Will have to come back for happy hour.

Yelp
Everything was delicious, risotto was just so good, my husband asked for an extra side dish of it, scallops perfectly cooked, tomato soup tasty and light, dessert right amount of sweetness and service just great from Manager to waiter. TVs not loud, families and friends gathering, really great experience, will return for sure.

Yelp
So um, why am I just now finding out about this place? Federal American Grill is your new favorite restaurant. I took my wife here for a Sunday birthday brunch. They were doing live music which was a super nice touch. The outside of the building is deceiving (not that anything is wrong with the outside), but the decor is gorgeous! The host greeted us (she is very nice) and opened the door as we approached the building which made us feel fancy! We were seated for our reservation right away. Our server was attentive, friendly and thorough. They presented us with a hand written birthday card for my wife. The entire staff for the day signed it. This is an example of a small effort going a long way. My wife was really impressed. The tables were set neatly, everything was clean, and we didn't wait more than 5 minutes to be served. Listen to this next part very carefully: Do NOT forget to try the free biscuits with the red jalepeno jam. Jesus. Such deliciousness should be a crime. I had to stop myself from eating them all. Insanely good. Their menu has a ton of good options. It's not skimpy at all. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and Kung Pao Calamari. They seem to like spice and tangy for a lot of their recipes and I'm here for it. Both appetizers were killer. 10/10. And I don't even normally eat Calamari! I ordered the Meat Loaf and my wife ordered the Shrimp and Grits as the main entrees. Oh man, it's just not fair. Both fantastic as well. I make really good Meat Loaf at home but this was the first restaurant where I can admit I am defeated. You cannot go wrong with the food here. We've ordered from Doordash from here a few times since then but there is nothing like the dine-in experience. This place is a must try. In closing, the staff is very friendly, attentive, and just flat out amazing. The manager came over to greet us during our meal on our 2nd visit and he was super nice. Made us feel welcomed. I absolutely love this place. Great job! Tip 1: Valet is complimentary but make sure to bring cash to tip. Tip 2: I suggest booking a reservation though both times we went there was plenty of available seating. You can book reservations on open table. Tip 3: This place is also very kid-friendly. They have high chairs, a kids menu and crayons/coloring sheets. Tip 4: There is also a sit down bar with a huge selection of beverages. My wife's cocktails were all good.

Yelp
I was impressed! I visited on a wed after work to meet someone. Parking is comp valet but there is a garage in the back. The place is nice and the atmosphere is nice as well. Cloth table cloths to give you some perspective. When we arrived had an RSVP and was seated right away. It was not that busy which was about 5, however, that changed quickly! The place got busy quick and did not slow down. They do have a happy hours and it was not bad. The food was excellent, I had the chicken fried steak. The service was excellent as well. I suggest to make a rsvp and or get there early. As far as eye candy there was some because people were dressed nice. They were a bit more on the seasoned side but still people looked very nice. That is not required because I went after work and was business casual. Overall nice place and I do recommend. I plan on visiting again.

Alyssa H.

Yelp
This was an amazing experience! I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about it. One of the things I absolutely loved about this place aside from the delicious food and drinks was the honesty of the staff. I loved that the staff was very familiar with the menu and when I told our waiter that I was debating between two things he was able to make a recommendation immediately without question and let me tell you, he was not wrong! This is a restaurant I will go to again and again.

Becky M.

Yelp
Went here for Houston Restaurant Week. Really slow service. First course of Bang Bang Shrimp was delicious and served hot (temperature not spice). The main course of Chopped Wedge salad with chicken was blah, No taste and definitely not restaurant quality.

Gaylene L.

Yelp
There is not one negative thing I can say about this restaurant. This was not our first trip here but it was the first time I thought to get a picture but did not get a shot of the appetizer. Those were the hamburger egg rolls which were delicious. The biscuits they bring to the table are so light and fluffy and the jalapeño jelly is delicious. The meatloaf is without a doubt the best I have ever had. Amazing !!!

Devlin W.

Yelp
Ambiance: Pulled up to complimentary valet which is never a bad thing, and greeted with a smile from the lovely hostess. We were seated right away, no wait, considering the crowd. The place was packed, that was to be expected for a Friday night. This place gave more of restaurant to attend after a casual Friday at work; I felt a bit over dressed with a dress & heels. Overall nice vibe, but no need to get fancy. Service: I like to cut people some slack, especially when an establishment is crowded or busy, however, we found the wait times to order & receive food & drinks, refill water, get the check, etc, to be long. We were planning to order dessert but didn't want to experience a long wait for it, so we passed. Keep this in mind if dining during the weekends. Our waiter seemed overworked, hence the long wait times. Other than that, the waiter met our needs. Food: These biscuits were so good! Crunchy & crusty on top and pillowy soft & hot on the inside. The butter & pepper jam complimented them nicely. I also loved the Chilean sea bass: well cooked & seasoned, good portion size, and pretty plating; the spinach sauce paired well with it. I thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass as I finished the plate. The baby back ribs were saucy & tender but needed a bit more flavor or seasoning. It came with pickles, slaw, & fries. The food wasn't an issue here. Onto the drinks, they packed a punch lol. My sidecar (not pictured) was too strong, honestly tasted like a straight double shot of alcohol. Although some would've loved this, I had to send it back, and opted for a Moscow mule. Much better! My partner had the bees knees (spelling), and it was a pretty normal drink. Not strong nor weak. All in all, food was good, drinks were strong, and the vibe was giving after work meetup spot. I'd recommend it, just be prepared to wait & remove your tie or heels before entering lol. Enjoy!

Yelp
Service was terrible took forever everything we would ask for, he would take long to bring. We got there at 9:20 we left at closing time. Food wasn't the best the grilled salmon was not it. The only good thing out of was chicken fried steak. I will not be coming back

Ralph O.

Yelp
We went there on a valentines special. It cost us almost $275 dollars but the amount of food was very small. The quality of the food was great just over priced.

Mark A.

Yelp
What a few years can do. Went back today for lunch. The cheese burger egg rolls were bad. Nothing like the great item we had previously. Wife had a burger that was over cooked. I had blackened chicken bowl. Won't do that again. Dry chicken. Bang bang shrimp was very good as was the tuna. Service was good but overall experience was blah. Going somewhere else next time.

Roselyn A.

Yelp
Good food and service. The mimosa carafe was cheap and paired well the the brunch. I would for sure go back.

Gyasi H.

Yelp
Placed an order for curbside / carry out. Was told it would take 15 mins. Sat in my care for over twice that after calling to place the order in the first place. Not feeling well so didn't want to go in and spread my germs in case I had covid. I won't be going back to try their expensive burgers because if it is like this for customer service, what is the point. I am so tired of the piss poor service in Houston......today is Sun. may 26 2024 and I spoke with a male on the phone....

Kelly L.

Yelp
My friend and I were out for happy hour and sat at the bar. We were surprised at how packed the place was (from bar seating to restaurant seating) on this random Tuesday. The tuna poke is the best I've had in a long time and the wonton chips with it were perfectly crispy and flavorful. We both ordered 'smoke' drinks. Places I've been generally have a glass over the drink... here, there's a whole huge smoke cage the drink is served in. Very fun and the smoky smell is wonderful. I am big on ambiance. I like upscale yet comfortable bars where people are interesting and friendly and the bartenders are attentive and efficient (with a personality). This was a 5 out of 5. I have been here now 4 times at various times in the evening and the place, food, service, ambiance is simply consistently great. Oh, and the bar napkins have funny quotes... they also have quote decor in the restroom hallway... love a place with a sense of humor!!!!

Rose L.

Yelp
I loved the appetizer meatballs and mashed potatoes with crispy onions. Delicious but more of an entree than an appetizer. I also had the American Burger, looked amazing but I didn't care for the secret sauce, too sweet. It changed my desire for a burger. I would return and ask for the sauce on the side.

Berles C.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was mediocre. Okay the bread was very good with butter and pepper jelly. It's a cake like texture - kinda a soft cornbread. I had the chicken fried steak 1/2 portion and it was the size of the palm of my hand. Seriously more like a child size portion. It was okay, not spectacular. I wouldn't return.

Martha W.

Yelp
the food was delicious and the wait staff was attentive. Saw many friends there and seems like it is a good meeting place for many likeminded people.

Shakitha E.

Yelp
The food was fresh and the service was excellent! We went to Federal American Grill to celebrate my Mom's birthday and I am so glad we did. Our server was Amber and she was AMAZING! Her attention to detail and her overall customer service skills were phenomenal ! We could not have asked for a better server! We will certainly be coming back!

Candy C.

Yelp
Place was already busy for 5pm fortunately not packed. Was able to grab a table in the bar area. Ordered Kung Pao Calamari (good flavor and the calamari was tender, definitely order again), Tommy Lyons BBQ Bone Marrow (I was curious, there was a distinct BBQ flavor, the marrow melted in your mouth and was so easy to spread on the crispy toast triangles, not sure I would order again... I feel like the BBQ sauce over powered the marrow), Fresh Oysters (delish, bright and briny, the liquor was tasty, no cracker needed, a must order), Truffle Carpaccio (buried under a bed of arugula are some tender morsels of beef, I think it needed more flavor). The service was very attentive and friendly. Valet is complimentary but it is a curtesy to tip and you can put it on the card. Overall, I would come back. Definitely, want to try entrees.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Went last night with family to celebrate our grandson's high school graduation from Memorial. Party of 6 with a 7:00 reservation. We arrived on time and had a 10 minute wait. Our waiter was very good. We got bread, drinks and our calamari appetizer right away. The entrees took a bit longer. The restaurant was packed and there were several large parties. When our food finally came out, it was all delicious,

Kelly L.

Yelp
After a long day, we stopped in to get some dinner and cocktails. We always like to sit at the bar for the interaction and service. We were surprised to wait several minutes for anyone to even notice we were there. Then, the bartender motioned he would be right with us...however, that did not happen. We waited and waited. Finally, we ordered our drinks but had to call him back so we could order an appetizer. We kept trying to get his attention to order dinner, but he kept walking with his back to us. We finally had to ask the bar back to get him. We ordered the chicken explosion salad that is usually large enough to split and have leftovers plus fries. When our food arrived, the salad was split and was really smaller than a side salad and our fries were under cooked. It was so disappointing. The worst part was that we could not get anyone to talk to until we went to the hostess desk and asked to pay the bill. Wow! As we waited for her, but approached the front door, we had a lot of attention! We were so upset, everyone seemed to be lots of attention, but not the two girls sitting at the bar. Unfortunately this experience ruined one of our favorite places to go for a late dinner!

Shari S.

Yelp
Federal American Grill is one of my favorite places to eat in Houston! The menu is extensive and everything I've ever tried has been fantastic. The meatloaf in particular is amazing! I've also tried their steak salad which was expertly made. They also feature a very nice selections of wines by the glass and dinner appropriate lighting. Last of all, the owners appear to be there every evening and make a habit of personally welcoming their guests. Highly recommend!!

Miguel A.

Yelp
The service is very good at this restaurant, food well prepared but too much too eat, but oh well. This place doesn't get too crowded, great ambient and vibe.

Sofia C.

Yelp
First time coming to this restaurant and to this location so I really didn't know what to expect. The ambiance was really nice. Sometime during the dinner they dimmed the lights and it made it the place even better. We were a big party yet I was very surprised with the service. Our waiter was very attentive and all our drinks and food came out pretty quickly. The only thing I would say I didn't like much is the size of the place. The restaurant layout is basically a rectangle and it can feel pretty crowded. If there would have been more space our table would have been set up a bit better and our guests would not have ended crowded. We had guests sitting with their backs to each other and could not see each other during dinner. Now about the food. I ordered the chicken federale. It comes with two chicken breasts and couscous, pico de Gallo and an avocado sauce. I have to admit than when I first got the plate I thought it wasn't going to be enough. I was wrong! Not only it was enough, but the flavor of every component of this dish was amazing! The couscous was so delicious and the avocado sauce with the vegetables and the chicken was incredible. If you make a reservation for a big party be aware that they do not do separate checks and when the bill comes the amount needs to be split equally in as many cards as you provide.

Rusti B.

Yelp
This place never lets me down! Other then the new, not so nice, hostess we had a great anniversary dinner last week. The ambiance is classy with tiny string lights throughout, and a bar, perfectly situated in the corner, and out of the way, TV screens throughout and make sure to check out all of the withI bathroom postings. They are sure to give you a nice laugh. Wonderful people watching and really not a bad see in the house. Thursday night... Going on Thursday night? Make sure to get a seat early... Fills up quickly. Blackened tuna on a bed of couscous will have you coming back for more if the bread doesn't. Don't eat too much bread with butter and jalapeño jelly...you won't have any room for dinner. And you don't have to valet park. There's a parking garage just behind the restaurant, which is a two minute walk. For a quieter more romantic evening pick a patio seat.

Christy P.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with some friends. We tried their truffle Mac and cheese and bang bang shrimp appetizers--both which were good. The Mac and cheese was the thinner sauced type, of which I am a fan. The shrimp had a tasty sweet chili sauce on spring mix. Both portions were pretty decent. I was feeling less hungry from the apps, so I went for the fried oysters for my meal, which was definitely on the small side for an app. The oysters tasted fine but were forgettable--six small fried oysters and barely an accompaniment, as the Brussels slaw was a small pinch on top. We had some drinks as well and I thought the ones I had were good: fizzy lifting and bourbon peach smash. Refreshing and a little sweet but with a nice strength to them. Not a bad place for drinks, and hit or miss with the apps.

Yelp
Came in midday on a Saturday for brunch. As others have mentioned, there is a good portion of the parking lot that is blocked off for valet, however, at that time of day, there were plenty of self parking spots available. The interior decor is gorgeous and upscale, very modern. We ordered a mimosa carafe which I thought was very reasonably priced at $15. They brought us a basket of biscuits with our waters with butter and jam. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese omelette from the brunch menu. It came with a side of bacon and potatoes. Everything was very good! The service was quick and our waiter was friendly. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!

Yelp
It was either here or avalone dinner. And the latter had horrible reviews. So I picked here. Parking lot was full at 2 pm on a Sunday. There were two empty spaces on the side and I took one of them. Complimentary valet is available but I hate giving my car to anyone because they always rummage through my stuff. But here's the thing. In the back is a huge parking garage. And it says visitor parking. Only a few cars there too. No gates or valet cones. So it's open parking. Which is great cuz there's a lot of it. Saw both the brunch and regular menu. The hostess asked me if it was just me and offered me bar seating. Fine. It'd probably be more attentive service I figured (actually it depends on the bar tender and sometimes how chatty they are with the customers - mine was chatty). Music was playing on one side of the restaurant pretty loud. I decided to go for the breakfast sandwich because it seemed to have a little bit of everything there after confirming with the waitress that it had all the stuff listed (seemed like a great deal). Potatoes were spicy (there's jalapeños in it) and has a cumin taste. Sandwich is really wet on the bottom. So use a knife and fork is the better approach. The ribs, bacon and cheddar are on the sandwich. Eggs are on the side. It comes Scrambled. Oh on the way out grab some Andes. I love those. Kudos for serving them. When I left my clothes kinda smelled funky. Like when you cook in close quarters. Maybe there's an open kitchen. Bad ventilation? I didn't venture past the bar area so I don't really know. I don't know why but the smell just bothers me.

Yelp
Delicious burger, decent fries, and good service. $16 for a bacon cheeseburger and fries is about on par these days. I prefer to park my own car, so I don't like when places have valet that block off all the parking.

Yelp
My brunch group visited in September. While a few things I tried were delicious, like the oysters in the spoons and the fried shrimp my main meal of chicken and waffles was just bland. It's like it didn't have any flavor at all which was disappointing to say the least. The waffle had great texture but no flavor even when I doused it in butter and syrup. I'll come back and try something else. Overall we had a good time.

Yelp
I thought the food was pretty good. Tried the Brussels sprouts, sea bass, and truffle mac. The fish was standard. Simply done. The Brussels were balsamic I believe and the truffle mac was cavtappi my favorite. The only issue is it wasn't cheesy enough. I will go back to try other menu items. I wanted the short rib initially but last week I had to much beef. I also want to try the jumbo lump crab cake.

Yelp
Food was awesome. I would give six stars to the bacon wrapped scallops. Service was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The ambience was good... crowded and I could imagine it would be a little loud except that we were sitting against the western wall at a two-top (great table).

Yelp
We had artichoke dip and then I got the meatloaf. I love artichoke dip, but theres is not very good (compared to Houstons/Hillstone). They got rid of their salsa and sour cream for their artichoke dip which I think was good. The meatloaf is very good. It has a subtle spice to it but very good dish. Other people that tried the dish who don't normally like meatloaf; liked this dish. So no matter what I recommend this dish. It comes with fried onions and mashed potatoes. I give this dish a 8.9/10. The artichoke dip (without the sauces since they stopped doing it that way) is probably a 5.6/10.

Yelp
Stopped in at Happy Hour to meet some friends. Only problem is both at the bar and the table we had to ask for the HH menu, they seemed hesitant to offer the HH menu at both the bar and table. No knock on the food or drinks, just the reluctance to provide or promote the HH menu.

Yelp
First time visiting. It is a little upscale and nice. We were welcomed with smiles from the front door to our table (reservation for 5). Our waiter Jorge was friendly and provided excellent service. Food was really good. My kids also enjoyed their breakfast (chicken & waffle and the B's Homemade Pancakes were both hearty servings and delicious). After my meal I ordered a Bloody Mary. It was okay - it had ALOT of ice. I suggest it be served in slightly bigger glass so that I could strir it up a bit. Next visit, I'll most likely try their mimosas instead. I also enjoyed reading the napkins placed with your coffee mug. Overall, this is a very nice place with good food.

Yelp
Been here several times and finally decided some of these dishes are just too small and for the price , not a good value. Had the "whole or full order of the stuffed chicken' last night and honestly I was aghast at the size!! thank god I did not order the half chicken... seriously you are ripping people off . A chicken costs nothing serve a decent sized meal, the short ribs are the same, only about 3 oz's of meat... I'm done, never again I don't want to leave this place hungry again...

Yelp
Ok we love the location on Shepherd but the group of 4 of us that visited 5.17.23 were not impressed. Valet was a mess. Trying to handle 40 cars in a space that accommodates 25 leads to back ups & delays. We self parked and still were inconvenienced by this s*** show. Bar was overwhelmed with kitchen staff making drinks and got charged full price instead of HH prices but couldn't dispute it with the mob of people everywhere. Food we ordered was good for the most part but server was inattentive & basic. Will rethink a return visit here....

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday with my husband and toddler, we loved it! Great menu, great service, and beautifully decorated place! We can't wait to come back for a date night. We also LOVED seeing this place isn't entertaining the whole "covid" crap. No masks on customers or waiters, everyone was happy and it was amazing! Thank you Federal Grill for being one of the only places in Houston I've seen who doesn't make Covid their focus! We will be back many times because of this!

Yelp
Beautiful indoor, and the food was SO GOOD. Went for Sunday brunch and had the French toast, it did not disappoint. I will be back!

Yelp
Recently enjoyed a company dinner. Had an assortment of appetizers, sea bass, and dessert. Truffle Mac n cheese is always a great favorite. Staff was wonderful in serving a large group well.

Yelp
Straight to the point, this restaurant is tops all around. Very friendly and approachable staff, extremely scrumptious food and amazing craft cocktails. The Bang Bang shrimp is absolutely mouthwatering and is a perfectly shared dish...and the crab cake is INCREDIBLE. All of this paired with the Bee's Knees cocktail, an epic dining experience all around.
