"Federales, a chain that originated from Chicago, closed its Deep Ellum location abruptly in early July after operating for just over two years. The closure was announced on Instagram, but the specific reasons behind it are unknown." - Courtney E. Smith

First time here!!! Be prepared... It's very LOUD in here!! It's really hard to hear anyone talk and very hard to hear your waiter staff. It's also very HOT if you sit near the entrance. Be prepared!! Other than that, I really enjoyed my experience here. The salsa is EXCELLENT! The drinks are AMAZING & the food was DELICIOUS!! Our server wasn't as attentive as we hoped but she did have quite a few larger parties that kept her busy. Just a FYI, each ticket will include a 20% gratituity. I will definitely go back when it's cooler outside.

Google
The food here is great, but their reservation policy is a little confusing. The site says that they will accept walk-ins if all of the reservations are sold out, but when we got there we were told that they were not accepting walk-ins. Luckily, I was able to let a couple of friends know before they got there. Your best bet is to either order a large enough table to accommodate your party or call ahead the day of. Otherwise, I had a great experience there. The DJ kept changing the song every 10 seconds, but I can forgive that!

We enjoyed the lively vibe of this restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly host and were able to be seated immediately even though we didn't have a reservation. Our server explained that the brunch buffet was the only option during the brunch service 10a -4p. I tried every option from the craving station. The brisket was fork tender and well seasoned as were the turkey breast and ham. There were bloody mary and Mimosa stations. They also had an omelet and made to order waffle stations. I am looking forward to going back for the tower mimosas for the next visit. My only complaint was that the music was slightly too loud.

This was my first time here and I must say I really enjoyed my evening. Establishment was nice, clean, and friendly customer service. Loved the fact that they had games like Jenga to play while you are waiting on your order! Food: Steak Tacos were absolutely fabulous and tasty, meat was very moist and corn tortillas tasted like they were hand made right there and then. Were they? 🤷‍♀️ The Brisket Nachos were especially delicious, they were Very generous with the Brisket I would recommend those to everyone but strongly advise as an appetizer as the serving is a bit huge for one person. I really did not fancy the salsa as it lacked in flavor, the rice a bit to salty, and the beans were hard. We ordered the Pinche Paloma which was really different as it was served in a plastic Cowboy Hat - enough for 4 individuals. Highly recommend as well. Love the idea! This will definitely be added to a must go for all future Dallas TX trips! Thank you for a lovely and fun evening Team Federales!🤌❤️

Google
We went for PRIDE brunch. There had been so much hype around this place we were almost nervous to go. The best thing was the Bloody Mary bar. That was epic. Much of the food on the buffet was not hot or it was dried out. One should NEVER serve brisket that is dry and hard to chew if you live in Texas. Our server seemed like we were a bother to her. Sometimes getting her attention was ridiculously difficult. There were 6 of us in our group. Even in mediocre, at best, service, we still tipped past the auto added gratuities as our entire party works in Customer Service to one degree or another. We are going to give Federales another go. Maybe it was Pride. Maybe they were off their game. We have many “maybe’s” running through our minds.

***UPDATE****I've visited this establishment many times and usually have a good experience. However, last night was disappointing . The service has changed and not in a good way. We sat down and waited awhile for our waiter to come and greet us and take our order, when he took our order he didn't bring us water, chips and salsa or come back to see if we needed anything else. Our food was delivered we needed water and napkins, which my husband had to get up and ask for them. I don't mind paying the mandatory 20% gratuity but that service has to match what you're asking me to pay. It's like they're doing the very bare minimum but expecting top notch tips **** This one of my favorites. This is the third visit being able to enjoy the establishment. Our first visit we were turned away say we couldn't get in bc my daughter and I had on flip flops. We were disappointed but understood that they had a Dress Code however,on our second visit a lady sitting across from us had on flip flops. We didn't understand why she was allowed in when we were turned away. We let it go and decided to enjoy our time out together.

Google
The buffet is comparable to a basic continental breakfast. The brisket was dry and juice was warm. The restaurant was so loud that we could not hear ourselves talk. The only thing that I would come back for is the champagne pitcher.

Federales is definitely a vibe, BUT, the food is nothing to really rave about. I love the open seating and the layout of the bar/restaurant. There’s a lot of space and seating to hang out, mingle, and ‘throw your ice shot glass at the bell’. They have great music, good service, and good drinks. I also love the mixed crowd it brings. I had some of the spicy chicken tacos (pretty good), chips (TOO salty and seasoned) & salsa (which tasted so fresh and was chilled), the queso (it was okay), rice and beans (delicious), and like 3 margaritas (raspberry, watermelon, and regular), and a shot of brown tequila. My total came out to $77 (they added an $11 gratuity charge). I general, I think the price may be a little excessive. I’ll definitely be back for drinks and to socialize, but not for food alone. Also, the brunch menu is really limited.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Came here with my husband for the all you can eat brunch and it was great! They had tons of options from a waffle station, a taco station, desert table, fruits, a bunch of juices. You could even get a mimosa tower for an additional 45. Not bad for a large group! The service was ok, but hard to get a hold of someone to pay, which was annoying. The bathrooms are not well labeled so I was walking around for a good minute looking for them. There is also no parking lot so you will have to pay to park somewhere close by. All in all I enjoyed it. I will definitely take my brother in law and sister in law here when they come visit us in Texas soon! It's totally a vibe!

Marva R.

Yelp
Okay, I am not a buffet person but I was talked into it. I was actually okay for a buffet. Now, again I always wonder why am I getting carded to go into a restaurant but the security guard said it is a bar they just have food for purchase. If you make more money off of liquor yes you are a bar. But it was giving restaurant with loud music and TVs like any other establishment in Dallas. Food-2 (would be a four but the young man changing the tortillas used his hands with no gloves. Like young man that is nasty. Drinks-5 Security-4(doesn't make sense for a brunch but he was dope) Waitress- 5 Manager-5 Would I go again? Of course! Final rating 4.2

Yelp
Sad to see this bar closed. When I went last year, it was bustling. The food was solid and it had a cool ambience to it. The social media sensation of throwing a cup made of ice to the bell was really a cool feature. I thought service was acceptable given how busy it was.

Kierra P.

Yelp
This place is casual and big. They offer bottle service. Our server was attentive throughout our stay. The taquitos were tasty with the queso. The music is current hits. The food we had was so tasty, I hope they consider adding more finger foods. The drinks are made with fresh ingredients.

Mikhael W.

Yelp
I made the mistake and rolled up in here on a Saturday around 5...sober...my anxiety was on 10!!! Looouuuuuuddd!!!!!! Kids (anyone under 30) running around EVERYWHERE! I just knew I wasn't going to find a table for a party of 2! ...took a few min but we did! This place accepts reservations during the week...I think you're on your own on the weekends and boy do I see why!!! It's a lot going on here! With this much stimulation I was going to expect crappy food and drinks but it was the polar opposite! Skinny marg didn't taste skinny...that's good right? Not sweet..just like I like them...nachos we're hittin! Subbed ground beef for steak..not skimpy! Overall, it was pretty neato. I DO think it's kind of goofy that they take your card before getting your order started and gratuity is automatically applied...our waitress was nice, but had the personality of a brick wall... ....won't stop me from returning!

Kendal S.

Yelp
The tacos and queso were very good. And the pricing was not bad at all either. I'm a big fan of this spot and the atmosphere. Get good Mexican while enjoying a game.

Wa W.

Yelp
Sunday brunch was good. We had a large party and the buffet was a great solution. The best was the omelet bar. The next order a custom waffle, chicken & waffles. Mimosa tower comes next. Great $45 for a large party. I think it served 8 X 2 drinks each. All the meats were delicious. Desserts were okay. Lots to choose from. The only criticism was the large, long table was too narrow and the stools were horrible. Lots of music, thanks DJ!

Paulo Cesar A.

Yelp
Love the food man, brunch buffet really nice a lot of options to pick from, definitely the waffles and the omelette station , brisket pretty decent Been there a few times already no complaints besides the loud music. I had to scream to your friends in order to talk to them. Not a bad place to start your morning with Some mimosas and decent food.

Angela T.

Yelp
Didn't eat much here but what I had wasn't too bad. Always a good atmosphere here. They have ice shot glasses that you can order a shot of and try your chance at hitting the bell. Be mindful of what shot you want. Service was pretty good.

Chrissy P.

Yelp
Looking for a late night spot on a simple Tuesday to get tacos or even drinks... well this is ya place! The drinks a good and the food is too! It was super chill mainly cause it was round 10p on a Tuesday it's super chill and the food was good

Victoria N.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times now and I really enjoy my time every single time! My only complaint is how they advertise the $35 brunch but it's really almost $50 with this random 3% fee, tax & automatic tip so just keep those in mind. Although, I will say the food is actually really good and it's a lot of variety it's just the price is false advertising. It's really like a solid $40 with that fee. I recommend the ice shots they are a good price! $24 for two shots. Servers are always nice. The ambiance is more of a party vibe not family friendly exactly lol.

Charis S.

Yelp
I wasn't able to throw the glass shot glasses, but I loved the vibes in here. Good energy, the bar was busy, TVs on, football games showing. Natural sunlight all throughout the place, so it was a good look. The Quesabirria with consommé was on point. I got two and I'm glad I did. I started with the Tequila Rose, it was ok, I think it was a bit on the bitter side, but the frozen mango margarita was perfection. I feel like you can never go wrong with a mango margarita honestly. On the weekends, it can be pretty hectic, a big social hour, just a little heads up!

Quiana T.

Yelp
They was a $15 lunch special that consisted of two tacos and a margarita. I tried the spicy pork tacos. It was a new combination for me but surprisingly it was good. The chicken was fried and the spice was really good. The service was a little subpar as the waitress was not as focused. But nonetheless I would go back as the food and drinks were good.

Tymeia T.

Yelp
Saturday evenings are popular. It feels like a lounge but with food. They do ID on Saturday evenings. Pretty good music. The food was good as well. When ordering food your table receives a complementary chips and salsa. Now these are home made and delicious. Now the potato taco was delicious. I'm a meat lover and I really enjoyed the Simplicity of this taco. It was actually better than the spicy chicken taco. This is my opinion and I'm sticking with it. Now the elote is spicy. It has a Smokey flavor but there is some type of hot sauce on the corn. The cucumber margarita is also spicy. I enjoyed the food. No complaints. We dined in around 7pm which was a good time. We walked right in and was seated.

Karin T.

Yelp
Walking in you are given a 2 hour limit, having a party show up an hour early before their reservation and reaching over you to hang up decorations and party decor is completely unacceptable. Surrounding a table and with an ARMY VETERAN with PTSD sitting there, appropriate manners and politeness should have been asked. However they were not. This was beyond disrespectful, not to mention inappropriate.

Tijah M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed myself at Federales! The service was really good, everyone was kind and quick. The food tasted amazing, nachos were seasoned perfectly, cod was really good and not fishy. Birria taco was one of the best that I've ever had. Drinks tasted amazing too, we tried a few different ones while we were there and truly enjoyed ourselves. I love the way the building had an open and bright vibe, there was an even a cool bell you throw your ice shot at which was really fun. On the TVs they had hilarious little phrases and it kept us entertained. Would love to go back again.

Yelp
First time here. Had recently just arrive in town for the weekend and this place was pretty empty as we walked by. I recognized the brand from home, so we decided to try them. Pros: The food was great. Tacos are not to be underestimated. How hard could it be to prepare tacos, right? They seem simple to prepare but I've been to a few bad taquerias. The meat was tender and seasoned well. All the ingredients was fresh and the wait time was very customer friendly. The live DJ was a very nice touch. I also love how spaciousness of the place. There were convertible widows that turn as section of the dining area into more of a patio. Great on a warm evening or a summer night. They offer a wide variety of Tequilas, which is served in a shot glass shapened out of ice. I was given a free shot for my birthday. Cons: The service was relaxed. It was a few days before Halloween and the staff was all dressed in costumes. Although the place was primarily empty, it took a noticeable amount of time before a waiter came to our table. Federales seem more like a bar and less like a restaurant, the longer we were there. This reminds me, there was security at the door when we entered. I thought that was strange, especially since it was so empty. Also, in bar like fashion, they wanted to hold a card for the tab. Lastly, there was a 20% gratuity added to our bill. We were a party of 2. This is also reminiscent of bar behavior. Overall, the food, the live DJ and the tequila variety are enough to justify 3 star. I may try the one here in Chicago to compare.

Jillian M.

Yelp
So glad I finally got to try this place! I came in on a Friday night around 7pm and loved the lively atmosphere. Immediately had to test my skills by ordering an ice shot and ringing the bell. They had a DJ and some funny slides up on the displays around the restaurant which I thought were nice touches, making this place a fun spot for a night out. Our server was amazing and super quick with our food and drinks all night. I wasn't a huge fan of the menu and wished there was more variety in the options. The tacos seemed a little overpriced ($6/$7 per taco), so we stuck to the basics. That being said, I was perfectly happy to order some chips, guacamole, and queso fundido and enjoy our drinks. I would come back to Federales more so for the night life (and to try their cocktail served in a cowboy hat!) more than anything else.

Ada N.

Yelp
Me and a couple of friends came here on Saturday (St. Patrick's weekend) for brunch. We made reservations before-hand which was $20 a person (it's recommended that you make a reservation in advance, if you don't want to wait in a long line outside). They also have a two-hour limit for sitting for your table. The ambience was amazing! Our waitress was very attentive, and was served drinks pretty quickly upon arrival. The buffet had a lot of different food options, which were pretty good. Some of the food was a little bit cold, and depending on what you're getting, but the overall taste was good! There may be a pretty long line at the buffet, but it moves fast for the most part. They do have security checking wristbands before you join the buffet line. The DJ was amazing and played a good mix of older hits with the latest hits. The drinks were also really good! It's in Deep Ellum, so I highly recommend either calling an Uber, or prepare to pay at least $20 for parking if you're not able to find parking on the street. Would I come back? Definitely!!!!

LeShea B.

Yelp
Providing an update September 2022. Came back Sunday evening (around 5). Security: Security at the door did a half job of checking purses for weapons. Definitely could've gotten in with whatever they were looking for. It was open seating. Ordered queso, and one steak taco. My bill was $25.65 (20% gratuity added to every bill). Way too much for the quantity and the quality. The 20% is CRAZY for the lack of good service. First off, this wasn't always like that. Secondly, Forcing people to tip on a single tab is crazy to me. In large groups 5+, okay, but this waitress I had really wasn't doing 20% worth of anything. Queso- meh. Seems to have changed since last time. It wasn't HOT, just warm. Congealed later. I did not finish. Chips- too salty. I had to brush some of whatever seasoning they put on it, off. Service- subpar. My friend had to flag down the waitress for napkins. Then later she finally came and filled up my water. Music still too loud. You have to shout over the music to hear. The Dj was cool though- I liked his switch up. I absolutely, positively HATE that now you have to "start a tab" and give them your card. I HATE IT. So I ordered queso, and gave her my card. I then see her ring it up, then float around to two-three tables. I'm wondering where my card is at this point. I stop her and ask, and she says that they don't give the card back until after I close out? Oh nah. Close me out then. I don't understand the need to KEEP my card hostage. Why? I just ordered a taco and told her to close me out. She brought out my receipt after. After that, I didn't feel like I wanted to drink or order anything else. The card ordeal alone lost the business $20-30 off my one ticket. I didn't want to be there anymore after that. Federales had something going at first, but these changes? I won't ever recommend it again. ---- take the 20% off of single tickets ----DEFINITELY reconsider that credit card hostage situation And you may be able to retain customers

Marshaye B.

Yelp
Was in town visiting friends and we decided to check this place out for brunch. The bruch buffet was great! Alot of options to choose from and the price was really good. We made reservations and were seated immediately even though the restaurant was super packed. Had a lot of fun, they played really good music as well. The service was spotty at times but overall had an enjoyable time, I would visit again!

Jate' J.

Yelp
I cannot lie, Federales had me pleasantly surprised! I'm always skeptical about places in Deep Ellum. This area is always over-packed to the max. Crazy crowds. Horrible parking which is to be expected in a downtown area. This wasn't the case on this particular Sunday. The crowd was busy enough to provide a vibrant atmosphere. We didn't have time to really order rounds on rounds, we only needed to grab a bite before our concert. Mexican candy shots, spicy margaritas, chips/salsa, and quesadillas. The food was really good! I very rarely order quesadillas but I needed to pick something quick that's hard to mess up. The chicken had a great spice to it. Almost like some chipotle/adobo flavor. Love it! The margaritas definitely gave us the kick we needed. Not watered down at all. This was literally the perfect spot to pregame. Fast service. Good food. I could see myself coming back!

Nisha R.

Yelp
The food is still 4 stars. It's just the fact that things have changed since last month. This automatic gratuity is WACK. I don't mind tipping if my waitress is good. The one I had yesterday was definitely lacking skills. Get your people trained. So for this if I visit I will have cash and I will deduct from that tip on my bill if the waitress is crappy. I don't know of any laws that says I have to give 20% to a bad waitress. Also this new holding my credit card. I don't trust half these places. It's sad this restaurant/bar has already turned to this. The food is yummy. I will return, but not as often and will be prepared with these new policies in place.

Victoria H.

Yelp
My friend invited a group out to try this place when it first opened. Let me tell you, we basically ordered all the appetizers. The smoked brisket nachos were jammed packed with flavor, but could definitely be more generous with the cheese and toppings. By the time we got to the bottom layer of chips, it was just bare chips. We also unanimously LOVED the queso fundido!!!!!!! I should have ordered another one just for myself, it was really hard to stop eating. It's stringy and has the perfect amount of grease. I would say this is the best hangover snack. I'm sure you've all seen it - but you should order the ice shots so that you can throw the shot glass at the bell when you're done. Great photo op and just a unique experience! My only complaint is the music! I understand they are going for a day club vibe, but when it's primarily dining, why are they blaring music to the point that I can't hear the people I'm sitting next to? I hate yelling, especially, when are just trying to catch up and enjoy our food.

Alesia A.

Yelp
When the gowrlsss say go to Federales, you gotta go! When I walked in I was pleasantly surprised with how big it was. We made reservations, so they walked us right to our seats. As soon as we sat down, they came with some chips and salsa. Which were delicious btw!! ( i'm a lover of some good salsa) Plus, we made it in time for Happy Hour, so you know we had to see what that's about... PRO TIP - frozen margs are not included in the HH Okay, now let's get into the food. I ordered the Baja, Vegan Chorizo, and the Wood Grilled Shrimp Taco. So I'm on my pescatarian kick right now so I was very happy to see they had a variety of tacos for me to choose from. All of my tacos were really good but the Vegan Chorizo and Shrimp stole my heart. Sterling ordered the chicken quesadillas and he said they were really good too. So overall I'd say our food was two thumbs up! All in all, I had a great date night at Federales and I will be back to ring the bell As seen on menu: Baja: blackened mahi mahi, cabbage, lime crema, pico de gallo, flour tortilla Vegan Chorizo: chorizo-spiced plant based protein, diced onion, cilantro, corn tortilla Wood Grilled Shrimp: mezcal marinated gulf shrimp, umami aioli, napa cabbage, pickled mango, peanut-chili crunch, flour tortilla Chicken Quesadillas: oaxaca cheese, salsa roja, cilantro, flour tortillas Happy Hour Margs

Reynu S.

Yelp
It's supposed to be a bar but the music sounds like it's a club. Very loud. I forgot my earplugs The churros were undercooked. Center tastes like batter. The drink we got really puts the "nada" in mangonada. Tastes good, like ginger - very tasty but not what we asked for.

Winta E.

Yelp
Finally checked this place out after hearing lots of great things. Federales is definitely a vibe. I enjoyed the music. The drink's were bomb. I tried the frozen mango raspberry margarita and the ice shot. The food was also great. I ordered guacamole and the crispy potato tacos. We came on a Sunday and it was pretty crowded. It's first come first serve unless you have a reservation. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of how slow the service was. Other than that everything was great!

Katrece C.

Yelp
Food is always good, ambiance is always great too. Today i sat at the bar with Alex. He made sure me and my friend were good the entire time. Very attentive and made the experience much better. We went before peak hours so it was pretty slow( which means food came out super quick, love that) Federales is a must when in deep Ellum

Chrischeryl M.

Yelp
Can't really review the food when we can't get in because of no reservation at 11:45 am. Website and signage clearly state reservation is not needed. Nor were they full...

Fatima C.

Yelp
The quality of the tacos and food have gone down hill for me at Federales. The potato tacos were my favorite! The chicken tacos are extremely spicy and not that tasty. This tends to be a place I take friends and family visiting because of the infamous ice shots. I probably wouldn't come back for NYE because of how ripped off the tickets are for the food and drinks you get (or not get I should say). I ordered two drinks that never came to our table. The food and experience was bomb in summer 2022 imo! Last time I visited a few weeks ago in March, the menu wasn't available. So prepare accordingly if you are visiting or out late night and looking for a quick bite. The ice shots were melted when we got them and when we asked for a new round because the liquor was all over the platter, we were ignored.

Joyous H.

Yelp
Sunday brunch. $30 for buffet. 45 minute wait but took a nice walk around Deep Ellum. Restaurant was packed, our server wasn't very helpful, and the buffet line was long. A TON of exciting breakfast items to choose from, both sweet and savory from the buffet, waffle bar and omelette bar. Chips, potatoes, Queso, marinated pork, and chicken at the nacho bar were a highlight. Most items were otherwise underwhelming in terms of flavor. Cool and Instagram-y atmosphere, but food wasn't worth the same hype.

Skyy S.

Yelp
I am the biggest fan of Federales. I spent New Year's Eve there as well as Sunday football nights! When you have a reservation, you are sat immediately because they put reserved signs on the tables. Every item on the menu is good but I would definitely recommend the chicken taquitos and fish tacos. They are amazing and the best thing to eat. The atmosphere is so hype and exciting. I love celebrating here and also if you go you have to try an ice shot and throw it at the bell!

Midwest R.

Yelp
Brunch buffet was lit. If you're an introvert, side at a table or booth on the side. I love that you have to make a reservation to come before 2pm. When I got there at 1:30pm, it was perfect timing. The buffet lines didn't get congested until 2pm or so.

Shaundra N.

Yelp
Our server was very nice! We sat at the bar and were attended by another server as well. This restaurant has a great vibe, great food and cool servers! You should go at least once when in Deep Ellum, before 8pm.

Trammell K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere!! I just wanted to post a few more pics of the food! We had a little of everything.

Alexis Q.

Yelp
This was way better than I thought. Came on a Thursday evening so parking was great and then walked in and sat down with no reservation needed. Chips tasted fresh and salsa had some heat but still good. I had a mango margarita it looked pretty but the flavor wasn't all there. Now hands down the quesadilla was great and my favorite thing!

Derrick G.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, lots of options. Omelet and waffle station were great. Could use better seating options but would recommend this place for brunch.

Courtney P.

Yelp
We had their birria tacos at the taco festival last weekend in Arlington and they were delicious. I would give a 2 star but since we enjoyed the birria tacos at the festival I'm giving an extra star for a total of 3. So we decided to drive to deep Ellum to try the full menu. Our server was not good, I had to go up to the bar to refill my water and ask for a couple of lemons because we hadn't seen our server in quite some time. The chips and salsa were good, flavoring on the chips were tasty. We found out that they only serve the birria tacos on Wednesday and Sunday- huge let down! Then we read on the menu "Modifications and substitutions outside of allergies/intolerances will be politely declined. These requests often compromise the uniqueness of our food and the efficiency of our service. Special requests or additions are not guaranteed and may incur extra charges." Well that sucked. I love a lot of different foods but 2 things I can not stand is raw onion, and tomato chunks. A lot of the tacos had either onion or pico on them. So I got my tacos and had to use my fork to scrape all the onion and pico off the taco. My other issue was the elote, the menu did not specify that it was served cobb style or cut in a bowl style, neither did the server advise when we ordered how they serve it. Not everyone likes to eat corn on the cobb, I know they sent a knife on the plate and you could cut it but it's a lot more work then what I wanted to deal with for lunch. They should add on the menu "elote (served on the cobb)". I wouldn't have ordered it if I was aware. Just a heads up, the music is very loud here! Makes for a great club environment, but if you're going to try and have conversation be prepared to yell.

Tia R.

Yelp
The food is good. The margaritas were perfectly spiked but the music. The music play list was top tier. I went on a Sunday afternoon, so there was no crowd. I will definitely be back.

Heather D.

Yelp
A group of girlfriends and I went to Federales for dinner and drinks on a Girls Trip. I had come across a video of someone doing the ice shots to ring the bell and decided I had to do this! These shots did not disappoint. I had the chicken quesadilla, guacamole, frozen raspberry margarita and the queso blanco. I can honestly say all of the food was delicious! Anytime I'm in the area this will be my go to spot!

Yelp
Finally, I had the opportunity to try this spot with my friends, and I'm glad I did. I got a steak taco and a shrimp taco. I also ordered a side of rice and beans. Something to note is that everything is sold separately and didn't come together. My tacos were average size and were really good. The rice and beans were a 10/10. They were packed with flavor and delicious. I got a mango margatita as a cocktail, and it was good. It was the right mix of fruity and liquor, which I appreciate. The service was pretty good overall, and the inside was cute. It's definitely a cute spot that I'd try again.

Yelp
AVOID AVOID Horrible security, wanted to punch me after I requested to speak to the manager due to a reservation not being respected. He even hid inside when I threatened to call the cops. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Yelp
YOU MUST COME HERE! This is my favorite place to go in all of Deep Ellum because it just simply never misses. SERVICE IS A 10/10 THEY ALWAYS GET OUR ORDER WITHIN JUST A FEW MINUTES! The frozen margaritas are actually the thickest and creamiest margs I have ever had in my life. Never have I had a consistency like this one, it is very interesting. Kind of hard to drink because they are so thick, but they are too damn good. But be warned, you will get super lit here off these margaritas! The freaking tacos though dude. I literally could eat 100 and never get tired of the flavors in all of the ones I have tried and I have been here a ton and tried most of every flavor they are all unbelievably amazing. Not only is the food and service good, but the atmosphere is absolutely so fun to be in. There are a ton of games that you can play with your friends including Jenga and four in a row. But my favorite activity to do is taking ice shots and throwing them at their bell. Please come here!

Yelp
Sunday girl's brunch at Federales was a success! We made reservations online and the only available time slot was 11:30am and we took it. I highly suggest (for us geriatric millennials) getting there early because it definitely turns into a day party vibe in the early afternoon. They have a brunch on the weekend, however their brunch "menu" is...meh, and there aren't any brunch specials - we actually ended up ordering from the main menu. When you're seated, they bring out the Texas tradition: chips & salsa. The chips are thick and salsa is spicy....just like me :-) For the appetizer, we ordered the guacamole for sharing and it was plenty for the three of us. I ordered the vegan chorizo and crispy potato taco. Both of these tacos were AH-mazing. I don't recall what the crew ordered but I do remember that they enjoyed their order as well. Drinks - they have a tequila list and then a small cocktail menu - but there's a full bar so you can order whatever you like. We all opted for the spicy cucumber margarita and it was pretty refreshing. Of course, you can't go to Federales without ringing the bell. What is that? A shot of tequila in an ice shot glass - you take the shot and throw the ice at the bell. Note: even if you hit it, it doesn't ring. Also: I didn't hit it LOL We stayed long enough to watch the crowd and vibe change - which was our ping to go. The music and crowd got louder and rowdier....too much for three geriatric millennials, so we left! Enjoyed our brunch at Federales and would definitely come again!

(I've had a lot of practice) Happy hour is Monday-Thursday from 4-6pm with 1/2 off margs Brunch from 11am-3pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday Make sure you have your DL with you when you walk in, also it is open seating!

Yelp
Such a great bar and great food. Tyler was absolutely adorable she always makes sure that we are all good. The ice shots were worth it and it is so fun. Would recommend to everyone going to a bar in Deep Ellum.

Yelp
We came for brunch on a Saturday morning. We arrived early and the place was pretty empty. We were coming in and u sure where to go- there were no hostesses up front so we walked in to find reserved signs on all the tables. The bartender directed us back to the front for assistance and the hostesses said the tables were all reservation only. I'd say the initial impression was that the hospitality was lacking - it was not a warm entrance and it almost seemed like they were annoyed. However, It was fine bc there was open seats at the bar and so we took those. Beware- even for brunch, they said no minors are allowed... someone in front of us were turned away with their 19 year old daughter. The bouncer that checks ID cards and said for brunch, the only exception was 10 and younger- he said "little kids" but not older kids, even with their parents. Continuing on, our service at the bar was excellent!! The bartender was fantastic! She was very attentive and knowledgeable. We went just for drinks, not food, so I can't attest to that. But the Margaritas were in variety and did not disappoint! Of course we did the ice shot of tequila- casamigos and patron at $10 a shot to try the bell is a steal! Overall my only real complaint is when I hit the bell, it didn't ring bc it was on the top portion... but i'm quite sure that was on me :) Overall, it was a great time and we will definitely revisit!

Yelp
Fun bar! Really strong margaritas, but really good at the same time. Chips and salsa were delicious! You have to do an ice shot when you come. Don't miss the bell like me lol. The only other food we good was a couple tacos and I was told they were okay but nothing amazing. Music was amazing!
