"The Feddy cheesesteak is one of the top sellers at Fedwich, a ghost kitchen located in Dupont institution Kramers. This fan favorite layers on the flavors with shaved ribeye, caramelized onions, cheese sauce, cherry pepper aioli, and cherry pepper relish. Order online for pickup or get it delivered via delivery apps." - Tim Ebner

Google
Really tasty sandwiches - we got the fed pig melt and the chicken sandwich. Both were unreal, tons of cheese on the pulled pork melt. Chicken was perfectly breaded and pickles were delicious. Fries are also solid, seasoning on top gives them a bit more kick. Coleslaw was also really good. Only con is could’ve used some bbq sauce on the side.

Google
There is Chick-Fil-A and Popeyes chicken sandwhich, AND THEN there is Fedwich... The owners of the Federalist Pig did it again. I ordered the KBC sandwich and it was unreal. The brioche bun, with the fried chicken and pickle was great alone, but then the homemade aioli sauce puts this sandwich over the top. As a French Fries lover, their fries are also spot on. Great seasoning and a good portion too. Will definitely be going back.

Google
Finally tried fedwich after meaning to for months. The shop is pretty cool, being inside a bookstore. The food came out hot and fresh. I had the chicken club sandwich and my wife had the cheesesteak. Hers was excellent, great flavors and juicy. Mine was very good as well, but I felt the cherry pepper spread was odd (just added an unfamiliar flavor). But the chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy and crispy, with thick cuts of bacon. The fries here are also very good. I'd highly recommend.

Google
Took my wife here for the first time yesterday and on the way home she couldn’t stop talking about how good FEDPIG melt was, she’s already looking forward to coming back this weekend. The cheesesteak I order was very well portioned and delightfully tasty. These guys are definitely winners in the sandwich game here in the district.

Google
I have been 3 times. The first time i went. I thought it was the best cheese steak. I have ever had. So i had to come back again. The next time it wasn't that good. It was like to garlic-y. I thought it was a fluke. The third time again to garlic-y I was again disappointed. Now I am not excited to bring people there. Also the second time a waiter messed up our orders pretty bad. Other two times waiters were good. The best part of the experience for me is the french fires. The bbq seasoning on them is really good. The fries taste great. I don't know if I will come back again. Also this review only for the fedwhich philly. Haven't tried anything else.

Google
I love Federalist Pig so was excited to try Fedwich. The KBC sandwich was tasty, crisp and salty - but overcooked; it was burnt black and that detracted from the taste. The coleslaw side was bland, they obviously didn’t put much thought into the recipe. The creme brulee was a joke. They just put sugar on some creme caramel and didn’t torch it or anything (see pic). The best part of creme brûlée is the top crust of caramelized sugar! Can we also talk about the weird unincorporated liquid pooling at the bottom of the dish? Support a different local business for now, these guys are just going to rip you off.

Google
Their sandwiches are so good I can’t stop thinking about them. We got the fedpig melt and the KBC sandwich. Wow. The melt was so flavorful and I had a hard time splitting it with my boyfriend since he wanted the whole thing to himself. The KBC was so crispy and the brioche bun was buttery and fantastic. A great place to get for takeout for a picnic! Will definitely be back.

Google
Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Cheese steak was awesome...seasoned fries also tasty. Can be a little hard to find depending on which mapping tool you use as it's in the back of the bookstore and easy to miss. Fedwich is also a ghost name.

Yelp
This pop up is not open at Kramers anymore, update this listing please. I don't now how to report inaccurate hours, so this is no reflection on the brand.

Theresa J.

Yelp
Horrible chicken sandwich. Okay fries. Burger was mid-rare which is actually how we like it (though not how we ordered it. I liked the broccolini as a side. Cooked correctly but could use some garlic. Won't be back.

Yelp
Straight up, I had this spot on my "go to" list for a good minute. Now I already reviewed The Federalist Pig, their food truck. It was time for me to hit their sandwich spot...Fedwich. I did....and I'm glad I did. Let's GO (They have a Cheesesteak)!! . Where I am: @Fedwich_dc . Location Reviewed: 1517 Connecticut Ave., N.W. Washington D.C. (Inside of Kramer Books) . Menu Includes: Fried Chicken Sandwiches, A Burger, A Pulled Pork Sandwich, A Cheesesteak, A Crispy Tofu Sandwich, A Cuban Sandwich, A Cookie, A Pie, & Beverages. . Items Reviewed: Their Fedburger (2 smashed 4 oz. beef patties, with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, special sauce, & fries, on a brioche bun $15). ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Thick, well seasoned, & tasty. Although it was too pink for MY liking...it hit the mark!! Their fries...DELICIOUS!! Hot, & seasoned goodness!! Their KBA Cubano Sandwich (with smoked pulled pork, ham, Gouda, & pickled jalapeños on a hero roll $15). STAMP!! Tangy, sweet, smokey pork. A nutty melted cheese, and a tad bit of spice!! WINNING!! Their Feddy Cheesesteak (shaved ribeye with caramelized onions, cheese sauce-wiz, American cheese, a cherry pepper aioli & relish, coleslaw on a hero roll $15). STAMP!! The cheese blended well with the ribeye, and the cherry pepper relish & aioli set this sandwich off!! DELICIOUSNESS!! Their Coleslaw was DELICIOUS!! It had some spice to it!! Their Goober Pie (with creamy peanut butter, graham cracker crust, & a chocolate ganache topping $7). . Customer Service: Decent. It was there, but there was also a nonchalant energy too. . Recommendations: Get the Cubano, or Cheesesteak, Fries,& Goober Pie!! =STAMP =A.DELICIOUS =DELICIOUS =DECENT =PASS =NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

Yelp
Long wait. I had the burger , which was just ok. The fries with bbq seasoning were very good. Had service been faster , I would return.

Samantha G.

Yelp
We ordered takeout from here on a weekend evening. We were craving cheesesteaks, so we both ordered one of those. Absolutely did not disappoint! The bread was incredible and not soggy. It was plenty cheesy. And the cherry pepper additions added a huge boost of sweet and spicy flavor. The fries had a fabulous seasoning on them. Pro-tip: order a side of ranch to dip them in. Everything was packaged well. Everything arrived hot and in perfect condition. Highly recommend!

Scott R.

Yelp
We wanted a smash burger and this burger hit the spot, that's all.

Rebecca G.

Yelp
So this is going to be confusing if you try to find it because it doesn't have signage. It is inside the bookstore, Kramer's. We ate at the other side earlier during our trip and ate at Fedwich later. It has a different atmosphere than the other side, more night-time cool. Everything was delicious! Messy, but delicious! They also have cool drinks. I had a cider that was sublime.

Yelp
Sandwiched between a bookstore and another restaurant, the Fedwich pop-up continues to deliver as a Secret Menu worth discovering. Don't be limited by the Fedwich website with options for curbside pick-up or delivery though. Physically located at Kramers, simply ask the host/hostess for a table, pull out cell and hit fedwich.com. You'll find their menu available Sunday - Thursday 11am - 9pm and Friday - Saturday 11am - 10pm respectively. Saturday's apartment moving break saw a repeat order for my buddy and myself: Feddy Cheesesteak and Fedburger. We'd ordered this in the past and split each to share. THAT is where the sharing stops cause, thankfully, all sandwiches are served with fries. Fries are seasoned and have always tasted fresh so you probably could request w/o - w/o any worry. Philly purists might need to come at this cheesesteak with an open mind. The Feddy Cheeseteak is best described as a leveled-up Pepper Cheesesteak. Definitely a "with Whiz" but can confirm it to not be your traditional variety then paired with a cherry pepper aioli on a hero roll. Oh, and there's caramelized onions, too, not the least overpowering. Just right. HUGE FLAVOR overall but small size. Again, keep that open mind, purists! As for the Fedburger, well that's a 2-patty smashburger that checks standard burger boxes but throws on a special sauce between two brioche buns. Funny how those last two things (or is that three?) really take this burger from good to great. That established, you can customize it with options including Impossible sub, extra cheese patty and egg as well. I'd encourage trying as-is before getting creative though. I've had all options from a previous order (except Impossible sub) and keep coming back to the OG. Remember, repeat order over here. Also, mine came Medium. Heads-up if you prefer yours brown through thick and thin. Service at Kramers has always been hit/miss. This visit? Ordering took a minute. Drinks took a minute. Food took a minute. Getting the check took a minute. I probably would have ordered another beer if everything hadn't, well, taken a minute... All that being said, come for the bookstore but stay for the Fedwiches. *PROTIP: you'll find the elusive "Italian Stallion" ironically by visiting Kramers.com - Restaurant&Bar - Fedwich

Yelp
The food is pretty solid - decent selection of sandwiches. I didn't know about Kramer's whole food sitch but definitely one of the best options at centering Dupont Circle. Their burger is a suped-up version of an In-N-Out style, fried chicken was decent. The cheesesteak was decent but I'm not the biggest fan of the relish. Maybe the higher cost is from including fries with every sandwich. They're seasoned at least but they're the sad frozen kind - wish there was a way to sub fries for coleslaw but that wasn't an option. For me I've only ever ordered whenever there's been a 20% off pickup deal - it's happened 2-3 times in recent memory. Always down to support local business, but don't think I'd beeline for it. Solid lunch option if you're in the area.

Yelp
Quick review - pretty easy pickup experience with Fedwich at Kramerbooks. Had to wait a couple minutes for the order, but not a big deal. The fries were good, the cheesesteak was really good, the buffalo chicken sandwich I wouldn't get again (not bad, but the chicken was frozen patty quality). Also had an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie which was good. I'd definitely come back for the cheesesteak. Messy and satisfied a craving.

Mary K.

Yelp
As a fan of Federalist Pig, was excited to try Fedwich. Got the cheesesteak (no pepper aioli) with fries and the Cuban with slaw. In a word: gross. The food was old and cold. Looked and tasted like it had been prepared days ahead of our order. The cheese in the Cuban was one hard lump dangling off the side of the sandwich. The cheesesteak clearly had the aioli in it which was then scraped off before packaging it up. There's also just too much bread. Fries were cold and slaw was old. Sorry Fedwich, won't be back. Also - this is a comment for Kramer, but they had me pick up my to-go order from the kitchen. I was in the literal kitchen. The server who told me to go back there said there is no part of the restaurant that's off limits to the public. That does not seem sanitary!

Jam C.

Yelp
I'm already a big fan of Federalist Pig and their sandwich pop up at Kramerbooks definitely didn't disappoint! Every sandwich comes with fries which is a barely a thing now. Haha. Each sandwich didn't skimp on the meat either. It's a great deal and very delicious! Even the fries are flavored well. Since it's take out the fries does get soggy, but I put it in the oven for a bit when I got home so it wasn't an issue. Really hope this place becomes a permanent place. The menu is mostly meat sandwiches but they do have one veggie option, which was also very tasty.

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
The steak & cheese was really just okay. The sub roll is way too thick (too much bread!!) and it could barely be chewed. I hate to say this but I would not try it again. The coleslaw looks good but has zero flavor. They need to change the sub roll and practice on giving the steak & cheese something to write home about. There is a reason they are tucked away in the Kramer bookstore without out side signage to find them. Sorry to be so straightforward but it's the truth (from my perspective)

Dan M.

Yelp
Solid take out in Dupont. They are operating out of Kramers, so you can pick it up while searching for your next book. The star of the show is the fried chicken sandwich. It is thick and juicy, a real tasty treat. The feddy cheesesteak is good, too, and it's enormous. The two sandwiches filled us up good. The concept comes from the people behind Federalist Pig, so you're in good hands. Bonus points for the name - maybe it's just me, but I have a ton of fun saying Fedwich. Fedwich. Fedwich!

Genesis D.

Yelp
I randomly stumbled upon Fedwich's page and was drawn in by the photos of their sammiches. Yum, I thought! So when I just happened to be near DuPont area I figured I give them a try. Given our current situation with the pandemic, I had to order ahead. For some reason their page says they are on DoorDash but I couldn't find them. No problem as I was going to just pick up anyway and not have them delivered. Ordering has to be done on their website and it was a breeze. Except for entering payment - I wish Apple Pay was an option either via online or through some sort of contactless device. I didn't have my wallet on me (I know, bad habit) so good thing I have one of my credit card's digits memorized. Once I was out front for curbside pickup I wanted to call the restaurant to let them know I'm out front but geee I couldn't find a number to call at all. Again, no problem, my food was delivered to me and quickly too! Experience with ordering and receiving my food was five stars. Unfortunately for me, the food was just okay. I ordered the Feddy Cheesesteak and kinda enjoyed it, especially the hero roll. For some reason the bread was really good lol. I took a few bites of my husband's Fedpig and it was pretty tasty if you like pulled pork. Fries were not crispy but probably from being in the container. I felt very bloated and sick to my tummy after eating -___- too heavy perhaps. While I thought the Feddy Cheesesteak was pretty good, I don't think I'd order it again as there are many comparable cheese steak options for my go-to. I'd wanna try their chicken sandwich and coleslaw if ever i try them again. I just wasn't too impressed with the food since I felt they were hyped up with the dope pics and high prices. I expected too much. Since they are just a pop up and collab, I'll give a respectable 4 star review. Give them a try!

Jackie B.

Yelp
What a great decision made to stop at Fedeich. We were hungry and these sammies filled us up. The Fed Burger was so perfectly cooked. It had 2 beef patties and super filling. The fries are seasoned the way all fries should be. We ate them on our way home right out of the bag. As for the cheesestesk, my friend said it was great. Flavorful and the combinations of condiments/toppings made it scrumptious. We opted to split one alcohol pouch. The Nikita was powerful and we loved the flavors. They definitely don,'t slack on the alcohol. The only thing missing was napkins and silverware. We did say we needed them. Not a deal breaker, but check bag before leaving. I am a huge fan of Federslist Pig and all the things from Pitmaster/Chef Rob. We will be back when in the neighborhood.

Essence R.

Yelp
I stumbled into this place because I wanted lunch and was amazing it's within a book store ! So convenient, I ordered a cheeseburger and an ice tea and sat and ate at the counter. Staff was so accommodating and my food came out in great time. Best part I was able to pick up three new books. First time in DC and trying this place will most definitely be back everytime I return!

Tnt H.

Yelp
So after driving around DC for the past 2 hours we were extremely hungry. Looking in yelp and saw this place was rated very high. 1. Received order and was missing water bottle 2. Did not receive napkins for food 3. Missing condiments (ketchup etc) 4. The Sandwiches were ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE Got the mushroom veggie and one of the Kelly sandwiches. Tbh it might be the worst tasting sandwich I've ever had in my life. Aesthetically it was appealing but the taste was not good at all. Idk if it was the blu cheese or what but we didn't like either of the sandwiches. And this is my first yelp review but I had to make a comment.

AJ H.

Yelp
Got the burger for takeout. It was perfect. Melty cheese, crisp pickles, great smash patties. The bun was soft and soaked up the delicious sauce. The fries were a little soggy, but that's what you get with takeout. They were still fantastic, seasoned with just the right amount of spice. Can't wait to go back under normal circumstances! Would definitely get takeout again!

Alice W.

Yelp
Wow. Just wow. Wowowowow. Highly recommend! I am happy that my family discovered this place so randomly last night. We ordered Freddy Cheesesteak and Jim Kelly (fried chicken sandwich with blue cheese) for brunch. At a glance, it looked indifferent. TBH, slightly disappointed when I opened the delivery bag. Well, it got quickly dismissed after a couple of bites. The meats are so tender and juicy. The sauces are just enough to maximize the flavors. Oh, the breads!!! Fries. It's like you open a door to a new world. My only regret was I didn't take any photos. So, we are going to order another very soon. With my homemade coleslaw and vinegar -- those fries are calling for.

Clari A.

Yelp
It was a little hard to find, you have to go inside the book store and it's located in the middle of the store. Placed my order online and as soon as I got there it was ready, I walked back in the cold to my office and saw this beautifully golded sandwich stuffed with meat and melted cheese. I was very pleased especially when I saw that the meat was not dry and the bread wasn't soaked either. The fries are nicely seasoned and have a nice crisp to them. I also appreciated the ketchup packets in the bag because I always forget to ask. I will definitely be bringing corworkers to this place to try it out. P.s. the bookstore is really cute (I'm a big book lover) if I could I would've sat there and ate my lunch in the nice scenery.

Shaheen M.

Yelp
I've ordered from here before and it was solid. I just ordered from here and was delivered the wrong sandwich, it sucks and happens...I get it. Sidenote - would not recommend the asian-fusion sauce it was smothered in...just not what I want personally when I order a chicken sandwich but to each their own. What I'm NOT ok with is asking to switch out blue cheese for ranch and you send me a Ken's steak house ranch cup that expired in 2011. Ken's is getting boycotted too b/c there was nothing to indicate outside of eating it that something was off. Will vote with my feet and support a different local business

Eileen L.

Yelp
Located inside Kramer's bookstore. Waited for three minutes while an employee ignored me. Super unpleasant experience and felt weird ordering from a place where I could see where they would microwave the food.

Louisa N.

Yelp
This restaurant is located within Kramer's books and can be located by their cute neon sign towards the back of the store. I ordered a Feddy cheesesteak with a side of fries. Yes there are many other places to get a cheesesteak but this sandwich was pretty good! The bun was a fresh hero roll with shaved ribeye steak, caramelized onions, cheese sauce, cherry pepper relish and a cherry pepper aoli. The fries were packed separately which I appreciated because they weren't soggy when I brought them back to eat them. Carry out was fast and would recommend. The chicken sandwich also seems to be a fan fave which I'll have to try next time!

Molly A.

Yelp
I really shouldn't be up at midnight considering about driving 25+ minutes again tomorrow for this sandwich but it was worth it!! Considering we are going through a pandemic, places are normally overwhelmed with orders and aren't providing their best food, this was everything BUT those things! It was PERFECT! NO Lines, orders ready, and the sandwich was soooooooo good - down to the bread they use. I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow great job guys! You deserved these stars

KM L.

Yelp
Came here for takeout during the pandemic lockdown. The service was super friendly and food was ready quickly. It was packaged well but they didn't give us any utensils or napkins, which is annoying because we were picnicking in the neighboring park with our meal. Luckily, we realize many restaurants aren't thinking about those details and brought our own with us. As for the food, it was indulgent and satisfying. The pickled peppers on the cheesesteak were a nice touch. I wish the cheese sauce on the cheesesteak was more like the philly style (not as glue like in consistency and more sauce like). The chicken sandwich was pretty basic but tasted good. Overall, not quite as good as I'd hoped for but still solid fare and worth checking out if you're in the area!

Bhavana C.

Yelp
Fedwich hit the spot. We got the Fedpig Melt, and the KBC Sandwich - both were excellent (and I knew they would be because Federalist Pig is the best). Excited to have this popup here at Kramerbooks!

Valeria B.

Yelp
The ONLY reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is because of the server. We were waiting for maybe 20 min because of the actual server who suddenly dipped out and acted like she didn't see us. The food was bomb though. Husband and I both grabbed the Freddy Cheesesteak and wings, absolutely no complaints. Just make sure to have time to wait on the server if you end up going.

molly d.

Yelp
Delivery and carry out pop up by the guy who runs Federalist Pig. Ordered a cheeseburger delivery last night, which absolutely hit the spot, although I should probably go for BBQ next time. Fries are super skinny and get over-steamed in their delivery container. Probably only a must if you love skinny fries. (I'm a fat fry girl myself.)

Amber H.

Yelp
This place is seriously awesome. I don't normally bother to write reviews (sorry ), but I've eaten here twice now and both times have been so good that I felt the need to tell the world. We tried the chicken sandwich, burger, cheesesteak, and cookies, and each item was crazy good. And the prices are great too! You get a massive sandwich and a large portion of perfect french fries. 10/10 recommend.

P M.

Yelp
Sweet Lord, these are tasty sandwiches. We got the burger, the chicken sandwich, and the mushroom and blue cheese sandwich, all on brioche buns, and they were all top 3 of their kind we'd ever had. They came with fries which were solid. It was all ready in 20 minutes, and pickup was incredibly easy. Nothing so thrilling as being able to order a summer reading bestseller with dinner! My one complaint is that it wasn't clear where to put the tip on Postmates, nor was there a chance to do so at pick up, so had to go out of my way to give a cash tip. They might want to make that easier in future. Still miss Afterwords, but hope this pop-up helps keep the Kramerbooks and Federalist Pig family going!

Joan A.

Yelp
We ordered to go-never received it, no phone number, no communication, zero feedback. So disappointed after reading the reviews. I'd put minus stars if I could.

Courtney D.

Yelp
Giving the place 2 stars because it was ready really quickly for pick up. But they messed up part of the order notes, that happens whatever. But I have to say I was disappointed in the Feddy Cheesesteak. It looked so yummy and had such great reviews, but did not meet the hype. I ended up throwing half of it away because it just was not good. Fries were lackluster too. I would try it again, but it's sucks that it was so disappointing

Molly I.

Yelp
Food is great! Love the chicken sandwiches and impossible burger. Love being able to order books from Kramer books at the same time. And LOVE that they switched to non-plastic packaging!! We have been limiting take-out because of all the plastic. Fedwich is now on our list of places that use biodegradable packaging.

Mac H.

Yelp
Good food but don't' advertise curbside pickup, and ask me how to recognize me on your website, then when I get there, tell me I have to come inside!
