I like writing about food, especially places I actually go to and care about. The Hof is one of those places. Not in a hype way, not because it’s new or trendy, but because it’s become part of my routine in a very real way. I’m here all the time—weekly at minimum, sometimes daily—usually depending on where my dog decides we’re walking that morning.
The staff is what really makes it. They’re friendly without being forced, and after a few visits they either know your name or feel genuinely bad that they don’t yet. That says a lot, especially for a place that’s always busy. People clearly love it here, and it shows.
The coffee is excellent. No gimmicks, no nonsense—just really good coffee done right. The space feels like an old-school café, the kind of place you can actually sit and get some work done or just exist for a while. But if you’re going to camp out, do the decent thing and support the business. Buy something. Don’t sit there all afternoon nursing a cheap refill and calling it productivity.
I recommend The Hof constantly. I send friends there every chance I get, and they always leave happier than when they walked in. That’s the mark of a great place. No theatrics. No b.s. Just a café doing things the right way.
