The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week, Winter 2019 | Eater NY

"I enjoyed Felice’s Tuscan bread service and the “classico” crostini ($17): soft, salty slices topped with black olive tapenade, tomatoes, and tasty prosciutto — I’d stick to crostini and wine here, since my pasta that day wasn’t up to par." - Eater Staff

If you’re looking for exquisite Italian cuisine and top-tier service, Felice in Port Chester is an absolute must! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, and inviting. The food was truly exceptional! Fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor in every dish. A special shout-out to Rafael, who provided outstanding service from start to finish. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made our dining experience feel truly special. I highly recommend Felice to anyone looking for incredible Italian food, great ambiance, and impeccable service. A true gem in Port Chester! 🍝✨

I had a wonderful dining experience at Felice in Port Chester, NY! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with elegant Tuscan-inspired decor that set the perfect tone for a delightful meal. The dish I tried—pappardelle with a rich, flavorful sauce and a generous sprinkle of cheese—was absolutely delicious, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to authentic Italian cuisine. The presentation on their signature plates was impeccable, and the service was attentive and friendly. The historic setting of the former grain warehouse added a unique charm, blending old-world elegance with modern comfort. I highly recommend Felice for anyone looking for a refined yet approachable dining experience in Westchester. Can’t wait to return and try more from their menu!

Beautiful restaurant. The service was great! The waitress was so attentive and accommodating. The food was great! The pistachio cake was so delicious!

Google
The staff was incredible. The steak was scrumptious. I recommend getting everything bovine they have including the fiorentina. I confess that I found the pastas just OK and they were missing salt for my taste, but the other people with me didn’t agree.

Came here for my birthday and had high hopes because the building and interior are beautiful. Food was hit or miss. Brussels sprout salad was great, pizzette was just ok, bolognese had very little sauce, drinks were good but not great. With so many great Italian places around, this one falls short.

I had such a wonderful experience at Felice Port Chester! The staff was incredibly nice and attentive, making sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The management is truly out of this world—warm, welcoming, and clearly committed to creating a top-notch dining experience. And the food… absolutely delicious! Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Google
Felice is a big beautiful restaurant. The decor was beautiful and stylish. Also very comfortable. The service was warm and wonderful they took very nice care of us. So polite and welcoming The food? Hmmm. The bread and olive oil was fab. The vegetable soup I got was delicious although not quite sure what was in it. We had a margarita pizza. It was tiny and not much cheese. Pass on this. The three of us had the salmon and two of us ordered it well done. Don’t judge them. But I ordered it medium rare and I had to return it because it wasn’t. When I got it back it was fine but didn’t love it. The sauce was suspect. They did remove it from my bill but didn’t ask for it. My daughter says it is known for pasta but I’m trying to reduce my carbs. So while I would go back and recommend you try it I would go for the pasta. Ironic even though I didn’t eat it! I would also rework that salmon dish and rethink that pizza which should be better for an Italian restaurant.

Yelp
Amazing time at Felice last night! I had ordered a gluten free pasta dish, when it came I noticed it wasn't gluten free. I let the hostess know and she immediately took it back and put in for the meal to be GF. They even gave me something to eat while I waited. A minor situation that they handled with such urgency and care. They were absolutely wonderful! And not to mention everything was delicious! Very impressed with the service from everyone that helped. I will definitely be returning!!!

Yelp
It was my first time here. Everything is really pretty in this restaurant. Decorated perfectly for Christmas. We started off with the Cristino, which was amazing. A beautiful pate and perfectly sliced thin prosciutto. Absolutely delicious. For entrées, we ordered the rigatoni carbonara and the Tagliatelle with the mushrooms and truffle oil. Both entrées were really good, but I prefer the carbonara. It was smoky and cheesy and perfect. Service was good and we will be back.

Yelp
Went to Felice for dinner with a friend last night at 6pm. I had heard great things about the place and it's been very difficult to get reservations so I came in with high expectations. Parking situation is a zoo- I would suggest just doing valet, unless you like going in circles. We were seated right away and the menu looked good. We ordered mocktails and when I tried mine, I didn't like it too much. I took another two sips and realized it had alcohol in it. I ended up sending it back and requested a different drink and the waitress was very apologetic about it. For the food, my friend and I settled on the polpettine meatballs as an app to share. These meatballs were great and tasty. We were also served free bread for the table. I got the fettuccine bolognese for my main and my friend got the fusilli with burrata. My pasta was just eh, I was kind of disappointed to be honest. It was al dente which is fine but there were pockets where the pasta was dry even though it was covered in sauce. I didn't finish it. The only other thing that was good was the cheesecake dessert. That was delicious. Perfect amount of sweetness and the berries provided a nice tartness. It was on the smaller side and we shared it. Restaurant had really nice ambiance and decor. It was easy to have a conversation so it wasn't too loud. Layout was spacious, pretty much same footprint like Saltaire had it. The service was really great. I would probably give it another try in the near future when the hype dies down.

Yelp
While the restaurant is beautiful, and I love dining at the 56th Street location, Port Chester didn't deliver. Drinks were weak, my burger bun was dry, eggplant parm was sweet not savory, and service was average. Our table was full of glasses because as new drinks came the empty glasses were not taken away. Our water glasses were not refilled towards the end of our dinner. I will not return to this location.

Yelp
Felice was first brought to my attention via a LoHud article highlighting new restaurants coming to Westchester. Felice stood out to me for two reasons - firstly it was replacing Saltaire in Port Chester which I didn't now had closed and was a fan of, secondly because this seemed to be a trendy restaurant with locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and South Florida. Though I am naturally wary of Italian restaurants, I nevertheless wanted to try them for myself - so I made plans with my parents and booked a table for dinner. Felice (pronounced Fell-eet-cHe) is housed in an old granary warehouse in the commercial heart of Port Chester. Post warehouse, the spaced housed a few restaurants - most recently the aforementioned Saltaire. The interior got a nice refresh with Felice moving in; the bones are still there such as the high ceilings and exposed brick, but the updated layout and color scheme makes more its own space vs. something inherited. The interior is split into two rooms - to the right after entry is the main dining room, and to the left is the bar area which also has additional tables. The menu is mostly Italian fare; the restaurant markets itself as serving Tuscan-inspired dishes, though there is definitely some Southern Italian here as evidenced by the red sauce dishes and pizza. The menu is divided into apps, salads, pastas, and mains. We decided to start with several apps - meatballs, arancini, ricotta, and eggplant parm. These were all delicious - I was especially impressed with the eggplant as it was prepared really well. Their red sauce kinda shook me to be honest; my family makes their own tomato sauce and it's really hard to find one in restaurants that compares - especially in Westchester. This was one of the better ones I've had so kudos to them. For my main I felt like pasta - the lasagna was speaking to me so I went with that. This was somewhat unique in that it was made up of spinach pasta sheets, veal ragout, and béchamel in addition to red sauce. The dish was delicious - I personally don't think the spinach added much to the pasta sheets, but it was a nice change from traditional pasta regardless. The béchamel complemented the red sauce well, and it was just enough that it added a richness without being overwhelming. We had to try dessert, and I decided to go with the chocolate hazelnut cake. This was pretty good - it was kind of rich but that was expected; tasty with a good balance of flavors regardless. I want to try their tiramisu next time as I heard it's made in-house - regrets. Service was great - food came out at a good pace and everyone we interacted with was very friendly. Management was on the floor assisting where need be and making sure that everyone was taken care of, I imagine because they've only been open for three weeks and may still be getting their footing - regardless of the reason it was good to see. Overall, Felice exceeded my expectations. The service was great and the food was delicious - especially that red sauce which really made this experience memorable for me. It's so hard to find good Italian food in Westchester, so Felice is definitely a welcome addition to the county. I would definitely return for another meal and wish the team all the best as they embark on this new venture.

Yelp
I was looking for a romantic and tasty spot to visit before hitting a comedy show at the nearby Paramount theatre and came across Felice. The ambience here is unmatched... I adored the decor, it was super cozy and feels like you're in Italy. We sat in the back room away from the main bar and it was stunning. Our server was quick, friendly and attentive. As soon as I walked into this place, I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into some authentic Italian. BUT it pains me to say.....everything was just eh. From the drinks, to the apps and finally my main course (pasta, not pictured) everything was just OKAY. Everything lacked depth and flavor. My mussels were cold, which turned me off completely. However, I figured I couldn't go wrong with at least trying dessert and that was 3 out of 5 for me.... On the brighter side, I had room for two beers at the show. lol For the price point (higher end but not bank breaking), I expected a little more. I'm giving Felice four stars mainly because of the service and atmosphere. I'd come back for a drink but the food, I'll pass on.

Yelp
The space is beautiful and the staff is friendly and attentive (maybe a bit too much so when it came to asking us if we wanted another glass of wine. Don't need you to ask six times). That said the food is average. I found everything to be a bit bland. Not bad - Just not particularly flavorful. The cauliflower side which sounded great on the menu ended up being more like cauliflower baked with no seasoning. For the price I expected more.

Yelp
I've been wishing to try this place since the opening one or two months ago and they are super booked all the time (no availability for walk in, tried twice). Finally I was able to get a reservation for brunch today (Saturday) and I learned that's their first opening day offering brunch service. The place was quiet and not busy compared to other times I stopped by during the evening. Staff are very friendly and Andrea (not sure if the correct spelling) was very attentive and touching base constantly with each table. We had starters: TUNA TARTARE, CARCIOFI E CALAMARI FRITTI, a side ASPARAGI, and pasta: RAVIOLI DELLA CASA. They all were good. Dessert selected was cheesecake with berries and we also enjoyed with a macchiato and espresso. They offer whole wheat and gluten free options. Probably will be back another time for dinner when I get an easier reservation!

Yelp
Felice is terrific. Especially love the bar area, which is a fantastic room. Servers are all top class and the food is phenomenal.

Yelp
Food came out just warm, not hot. Waiter didn't come by in the middle of the meal asking if we wanted more drinks. Food was decent, but not great. Menu was filthy and crumbs fell out when I opened it (no joke). Management: if you're reading this, you need to do better if you want to still be in biz there 5 years from now.

Yelp
SO BAD! The lasagna was HORRIBLE. It tasted like it was made last week and then reheated 3x before being served. It was dark brown and the noodles were hard as rocks! I wish that i at least had some bread to mask the dry tasteless brick on my plate but no such luck. Then there is good news and bad. Good news is that it was VERY VERY SMALL portion. Bad news is that they charge $29 for very small portion of inferior pasta. It was disgusting and everything is overpriced. I don't see Felice lasting 6 more months! Don't waste your time, money or palates on this disgrace.

Yelp
This Tuscan-inspired nyc fan fave restaurant, just opened its first location north of the city in Port Chester. The Lasagna, Carbonara Pasta and the Coast To Coast cocktail were the star of the show If you're in Westchester and looking for great italian food, check out this spot. The service was spectacular, we even had a quick chat with the owners as we were heading out. Great ambiance to meet with friends for drinks after work. @oohlalaletier

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant space but the menu was odd.. one chicken course, tons of pasta.. appetizers & main course took about 2 hours which was far too long in my opinion. Appetizers were good, but the entrees could use more thought.. hard to compete with local Greenwich restaurants especially as an Italian restaurant & there being a lot of options locally..

Yelp
Nope,... Not consistent. Strange menu and very expensive! Our pasta was just "ok" Our fish was covered in black pepper! Very strange! Our waitress was very sweet, dessert was amazing!

Yelp
Food wasnt great, my mom had the linguine di mare, and the sea food seemed and smelled old. I had the chicken cutlet and there was parts where it wasnt fully cooked, arrancini balls were just fine. Also had the chicken parmigiana, not great. Service was okay i ordered a strawberry aperol spritz, and by the time i ordered the second one they said that it would take too long to make. Overall place was nice but wouldnt go again.

Yelp
Nice ambience , nice staff but what I had was mediocre unfortunately. Worth another try as other reviews are quite good. Maybe an off night
