Saffron, NOLA’s Standout Indian Restaurant, Launches Tasting Menu | Eater New Orleans

"I noted that a fourth New Orleans Felipe’s has opened in Old Metairie from the Stumm family, and this newest location features a particularly large outdoor space with TVs, an indoor-outdoor bar window, and touchscreen kiosks for placing orders outdoors." - Clair Lorell

1st time eating here and it won’t be my last. The food was amazing. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere nice. They have a kiosk to order from outside and an outdoor eating area. The price was about average for this type of restaurant and worth every penny!

Meh.... nothing about this place feels Mexican or Taqueria. We went because years ago we visited the Carrollton location and it was okay. So finally decided to give this one a try. It has a nicer exterior and decent parking. The inside is bright, the chairs look cool, but is otherwise uninteresting inside. Lackluster. Something is missing. Also, there is no greeting when you walk in nor when you get to the order area. It looks like a blue & white version of Chipotle. That's literally all it is... except at Chipotle, they have better manners. My son got a Burrito and I got a bowl. It was decent. Nothing to rush and return for. But it was the drinks!!! The drinks were AWFUL!!! We got the "Jamaican". They should be ashamed to even call it that! It's supposed to be an island Hibiscus tea/ Sorrel. They have the nerve to store it under the counter at the register. Disgusting. It tasted like it was going bad. Spoiled. Not kept fresh or refrigerated. I'll stick with Queen Trini Lisa restaurant for real Hibiscus tea and much better food!

The food was great! I feel like the portions were slightly off. I had to ask the young lady for more shredded lettuce on my son’s tacos. We were celebrating his birthday and the atmosphere was pleasant. I will try it again during the day.

I usually come in about twice a week and I normally never have problems with the service or food. I get the same thing every time but this time the chicken tray was nearly empty with only scabs of chicken left . I asked the preparer could she put more chicken because there was barely any whole pieces but I was told it was considered an extra 2.50 .., even after talking to the restaurant manager who I felt didn’t have the best attitude trying to explain to her that I didn’t want the scabs she said they could remake it and they still went in the nearly empty chicken tray with the same scabs . For $15 I refuse to pay for something that I know I have been getting more of that is shortchanged because they were running out of chicken. Unfortunately I don’t be returning and this sucks because all I wanted was fresh chicken that didn’t have scabs .

Felipe on Metairie Road is a cool looking white building that has a staff who were very friendly. The service was outstanding. Food was good with plenty of options to choose from.

Stopped in for lunch today. The bar "mom" was excellent. She's always a pleasure to see. Food was excellent as well.

I wasn’t sure! The line was so long, the employees behind the counter looked miserable and I was HANGRY! But in perfect timing, the veil was lifted and the stars aligned. A spot opened up at the bar and Tucker was Johnny on the spot with jalapeño margaritas And Swirls. Also the manager on duty with best hairnet on was amazing thanks everything was great.
