Hungary: Where To Stay and Where To Eat Nearby

"An accessible brasserie de-luxe reached by a short riverside stroll, it serves an appealing line-up of dishes—many carefully cooked on the Josper grill—and even offers a range of caviar for a touch of glamour that matches the plush surrounds; a smartly restored ceiling, ornate details, and an air-conditioned terrace make it great for people-watching." - Andrew Young

"Felix sits behind the breathtaking neo-renaissance façade of the former Várkert Kiosk, in a building which once pumped water to the Royal Palace. It’s a plush place, with a stunningly restored ceiling and an air-conditioned terrace. The luxurious menu sees caviar sitting alongside signature dishes and grills." - Michelin Inspector

It's very expensive, but we think it's really worth it. An amazing experience. They Iron the table mats!!

What an outstanding and beautiful restaurant in Budapest! We are from Ireland and found the quality of the food to be totally exquisite for a very reasonable price compared to restaurants of the same calibre back home! We celebrated my sisters birthday on our trip and they made her feel very special with a birthday note at the table and a sparkling birthday dessert. Our waiter Christian was excellent and very attentive, a total credit to the team! All the ladies on reception are very welcoming also. We will recommend this restaurant to all our family and friends and can’t wait to go back!

From start to finish an excellent experience. The building is magical with decorations that travel you in 20th century. We were greeted by Christian in our table and helped us with our choices of food and explained us the flavors and the ingredients of our plates. Then the sommelier, Congol (sorry if I write it wrong) helped us with which wine to choose and pair it with our dishes. Everything we tasted was excellent and had character but the stars was the octopus carpaccio and the apple tart with cinnamon ice cream. Thanks a lot! It was a fantastic experience!

The food was amazing, and Mark was an excellent server. He made great recommendations, and we enjoyed our experience very much! The building is beautiful, and Mark explained the history of the namesake and the architecture. Stunning views of the river and the castle. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The lamb, gazpacho, tuna tartare, Greek salad, fresh bread, margaritas, and tiramisu were all wonderful. We just couldn’t stop ordering more and more!

I came to Felix in-between lunch and dinner service, and could only order from the bar/dessert menu. Aranygaluska was highly recommended here, and even though it came in a portion for 2-3 people I still ordered it. It was definitely a good choice. I must say that the pastry itself tasted a bit yeasty, though the vanilla sauce and ice cream compensated it. I clearly could not finish even a half of the dessert, and was offered takeaway ( unfortunately it didnt taste good when not warm and I didnt finish it). The restaurant was beautiful with perfect location. Sadly I could only rate cappucino and dessert there which were on the pricier side, around $35 with 15% tip included in the bill.

I celebrated my birthday there, and it was the best decision ever! I had been looking at different restaurants for a long time and chose Felix, the Michelin-starred one — and I couldn’t have made a better choice. It’s truly the best place I’ve ever been to in every aspect. Our waiter (if I’m not mistaken, his name was Christopher) was an absolutely incredible person who provided top-level service. We even left him extra tips on top of the 15% already included in the bill. I was impressed by the gentlemanly attitude, the beauty of the restaurant inside and out, the lovely birthday surprise, and the absolutely delicious dishes. I highly, highly recommend this place!

Laci was our waiter and he was incredibly nice, polite, funny and pleasant! Moreover, the food and the atmosphere were great and the entire restaurant has a very high class. We highly recommend!
