I made a reservation at 9:45pm on Friday night for the next day and they accommodated and did it WELL, I must admit. With the time frame I gave them, I was surprised to see the room and table we were seated at. The entire room felt like we were able to be completely immersed in our own little world and I couldn't tell anyone was eating outside of it! Not even exaggerating. And listen, I'm a mom of 3 under 10 and even with my wild bunch, it felt like this.
Anna was our waitress (I think there was supposed to be two but we only saw Anna the entire time) and when I say that she knew what she was doing, she KNEW what she was doing. From start to finish she made our entire family feel like it was an experience for dinner. I asked so many questions about different foods and she knew exactly every question and even recommended dishes from what I told her I liked. I went to the restroom (which was clean ) and I saw her at a huge party and I thought "Wow, you can't even tell how many people she is serving" She truly made you feel like it was only you she was serving.
Food? Outstanding. I knew from reviews to expect good food, but WOW. Everything was cooked perfectly. We ordered the spinach crab meat dip for appetizer. 9 out of 10 stars.
1-ordered the "Batty". Said everything was fried great. Not overpowering batter. Sautéed mushrooms for a side and Mac n cheese. Both 10/10.
2- stuffed white fish and crawfish sauce, jalapeno hush puppies and Mac n cheese. He said the hush puppies were the perfect mix of spicy and savory. Fish was great and flaky, stuffing was moist and not dry.
3- Mahi mahi catch of the day. Blackened. Camp salad and I can't remember his other one.
4- the soon-to-be mom we celebrated. Camp salad, key lime pie, everything else's plate snack board hahaha
5-fried shrimp, green beans, Mac n cheese. Shrimp were great, Mac n cheese was obviously a hit all around. Green beans were great, he didn't care for them topped with almonds though.
6-fries. (Kids, man.) but the fries were perfect too!
7- I can't remember the name of what I had officially but it was the 3 small samples of their house made soups. Gumbo was my least favorite but still flavorful regardless. Just not my liking of spices. Turtle soup-okay I was hesitant to try but it was definitely 2nd place. Not bad, it's definitely a unique flavor and many different levels of flavor. Crab soup? LAWD HAVE MERCY. It was so good. I mean good enough I got a to go bowl.
8-chicken tenders (kids yet again lol) but I tried the chicken tenders because how can I be a reviewer and NOT try a bite of everything. They were great! Not too breaded.
Desserts- mom to be had key lime pie, I shared the bread pudding with my husband. Both were literally superb. I do wish they had a dessert menu, honestly. Anna knew every question I asked BUT I would've loved to just read the list and the description of it. Just personal opinion though!
If you are looking for a place that is not only an experience like higher end but also fits in the budget without giving you the high end cost. Just do it. Try it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
ALL THIS TO SAY-
